    Dead Island 2 is a very funny and satisfying game. It has a slow start but once you get more and more abilities and powerful weapons, it gets really good! It is the kind of game you don't really care about the story and you're just goofing around slaying zombies in an absolute blood bath. The gore system is awesome. I think it is kind of refreshing to have a brighter zombie game in a seaDead Island 2 is a very funny and satisfying game.     A game without pretensions to greatness. Gameplay is great. Without a bunch of side quests and water. The game gives you what you want from it. A bunch of fans. Thanks to the developers for finishing the job.

    Even though DI2 had a very rocky development and doesn't offer anything really groundbreaking or anything other games hasn't already done but that's what makes this so goddam good. They have understood what makes OG dead islands good, they understood why its still one of the best zombie games in history. It's simple, it's fun it's just dead island.     Dumb fun zombie game. Much more fun with friends or even randoms than solo. Probably worth waiting til a sale but great to just chill out and have fun with

    Gore mechanics are actually pretty impressive.

    Nothing special at all regarding story or characters but thats not really the draw

    a Great zombie game. Nice graphics and fun game-play. I've been playing on PS5 and the performance is doing ok. The storytelling could be more funny, that was the game propose after all.

    This game is fun, but only up to a point. Quests and combat become boring and repetitive. The absence of analog attacks is really disappointing too because it was a feature that really made Dead Island 1 stand out.
    Quests are usually "fetch this" or "go find this person who hasn't been seen in a while." You go to a location, a horde shows up and you leave.

    Wer den ersten Teil mochte wird auch diesen Lieben.
    Das kämpfen macht sehr spaß und auch die Haupt und Nebenquest sind sehr amüsant.
    Kann das Game jeden Zombie Fan empfehlen.

    Dead island is a fun, addictive, and gorgeous experience. I've only played 15 hours but I can say there are very minimal glitches and the game runs at 120fps in 4K flawlessly I'd you have the proper equipment. I have the LG OLED C2 and Xbox series X. Only reasons I didn't give this game a 9 or a 10 is no open world. It's ok in some aspects but still missing that open world feeling that DIDead island is a fun, addictive, and gorgeous experience.     It is a fun, polished game. It is way too short of a campaign. I am assuming there will be a lot of DLC because it just ends abruptly which would not be a problem if the game didn't cost $70. The graphics of the game are amazing. It looks soooo good. Its bright, fun, and upbeat which is ironic considering its a zombie apocalypse taking place in Los Angeles.     ➡️ Gostei muito da jogabilidade pois, me fez lembrar bastante do estilo do “Dying Light” misturado com “Dead Rising”. Outro ponto que gostei muito foi o elemento RPG, sim dentro game tem elemento dano de eletricidade, água, fogo e ácido e outros tipo de dano de armas. Também chamou bastante atenção mapa do game é gigantesco. Muito bom para que quem gosta muito de ficar explorando, coletando itens e armas. Embora Dead Island 2 não seja um verdadeiro jogo de mundo aberto, cada área principal é uma zona enorme que os jogadores podem explorar livremente, repleta de locais opcionais para saquear, missões secundárias para concluir e muito mais.
    Outro ponto interessante é que o jogo traz uma “categoria” de zumbis.

    I finished Dead Island 2 today and I'm giving it a 6. Would have been slightly higher if the price was lower.

    Let's start with the best thing with this game, the gore/flesh system. It's really amazing, I never played anything Even remotely close to this! Slash a zombie with a knife and it gets a cut exactly where you hit! Stab wounds, gun shot wounds, everything looks so good and real!    I finished Dead Island 2 today and I'm giving it a 6. You can literally Chopin off pieces of flesh until theres only a bloody skeleton left.
    Second best thing is the city itself, "Hell-A" look stunning.
    This is not an open world game, it,s actually around 10 different "stages"" you have to go through, and it's not the best solution, but not the worst either. I would have preferred an open world. This solution work best if you ha e an amazing story, like for example God of War 2018.
    The combat is also OK,both the actual combat and the weapons+weapon mods are pretty much identical to Dying Light.
    The story in Dead Island 2 is horrible, and the characters are cringe at best.
    This is what it is, a brain dead zombie slasher, and that's it. It's a very expensive game, here in Norway aswell, it's 25% more expensive than other AAA games like God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring.

    I regret buying this at full price and wish I would have waited till I could get it cheaper.

    This game is a solid 8 for me. Its just plain fun. No complicaties mechanics, simple story and fun gameplay and satire. After a long days work this is the perfect game to relax and relieve some stress. Its not a masterpiece, just a fun, good game

    While the story/characters is lacking, and to be honest, a little cringy, it makes up for its gameplay and brutal, yet stratifying combat. The quests and story aren't really ground breaking or memorable, but what it lacks in narrative, it makes up for in pure dumb fun. It's a type of game that you just turn your brain off and enjoy.

    Return to the old formula of bash heads and run. Don't get me wrong it's a great game, looks and plays great but 10 hours in I just stopped playing and am finding it hard to load back up.

    People have been complaining about this game and I don't get it. First of all the graphics are truly next gen looking. The new gore system is super crunchy/juicy, love how you can disable enemies by taking out their legs !!!
    Devs added a few new moves to use in combat which I appreciate.

    A bad zombie game overall. Graphics, story, and combat are all weak. Not as good as Dying Light, but A LOT better than Dying Light 2. Worth playing if you just want to smash zombies and waste your time.

Fortunately, Dead Island 2 was crafted with care from dambuster studios which is a major surprise when peeping their previous track record, yet they blew it out of the water with this game. It's just zombie slaying fun, a story mode is there of course but the real heart of the game is in just chilling back and enjoying with friends or while playing solo. It has amazing visuals, and the core gameplay is satisfying, the gunplay could use work and some other areas as well. On the other hand, it is great to be back in the world of Dead Island and I hope to see more come out from this studio.… Expand

    Gráficos incríveis e uma jogabilidade bem divertida.
    O ponto negativo é que o jogo traz um "humor" exagerado e desnecessário, quebrando a imersão de terror que o jogo poderia passar, diferente do seu antecessor, que era mais focado no terror. Pra quem gosta de platina, o jogo possui 2 troféis online que são um atraso pra quem não quer jogar coop. Pra    Dead Island 2 no geral é um jogo legal.

    I live for games that are just about having dumb fun, but the fact that it doesn't reset your inventory when you die in an encounter made me out of ammo and medkits, and in those times it was actually a struggle, other than that I have no complaints

    This game really hit the spot for me. The combat and the animations are very fluid and well made. The environments combined with the gorgeous graphics are some of (if not) the best I’ve seen in a game like that. Walking through the streets of LA is true eye candy! I also don’t mind the no-open-world aspect of the game since the zones are fairly big and offer a lot of explanation and stuffThis game really hit the spot for me. My only complaints are the last few zones, which are less interesting to explore after you visited them the first time. Beside that the other zones are large and full of details. I really like the fluid mechanics too. For example, you can find canisters of water, gasoline or toxic poison which can be combined with status effects from your weapons like fire or electricity. Furthermore, let’s talk about the gore or so called FLESH-system. There is really not much to say because it’s literally groundbreaking. You can chop of flesh, muscles and bones accurately with the swing of your weapon. Eyes pop out if you hit the head from behind and jaws fall out of place with a precise hit to the face. Skin burns or melts down if you hit a zombie with toxic fluids. Absolutely crazy.
    If you like old school games (like dead island 1 or dying light) you will absolutely love this one. As a side note, I hate when people give a game 0/10 because they expected open-world even though the developers clearly said it’s not.    … Expand

    The game looks fantastic (especially the gore) but the mechanics and gameplay loop feel about a decade old. It's basically a prettier and more linear version of the first game. If you liked that game you probably like this. I'd definitely wait for a sale though.

Initially I bought it for PC but couldn't get the controls working so I'm glad I refunded it and got it for PS5. My advice starting out is this: adjust the camera sensitivity to your liking (the default is too slow imo) and play as Carla. Her dialogueI'm a few hours in and so far I'm really enjoying it. The lost weapons quests all require you to follow a paper trail until you can unlock an object which holds a weapon.

    The characters all play the same, this was sad to see. The previous two entries in the franchise had a unique skill set for each character. This gave the games good replay value and made it worth playing with every character.

    In dead island 2, each character has the same skill cards to build out their play style. There is only minor variances between each character. For example, Dani had a card that only she and Jaycob could equip.    … Expand

    What happened with this franchise? I loved Dead Island and Riptide, but this installment is very bad and disappointing after that many years of waiting. Combat is pretty decent, but whole atmosphere and missions are like 5 year old created it. Try it on big sale to smash some zombies, but don't expect much from this. Better play old Dead Islands and have fun!

    There is literally nothing to complain about. There are a LOT of weapons, mods and everything....world is fun to explore and does not need to be "open world", better interesting and fun than plain and empty.

    Only downside is the wokeness touch. overall i can highly recommend it    … Expand

    Dead Island 2 despite the development issues satisfies the zombie itch effectively. A very self aware game that doesn't try to be anything its not. Very fun time especially with friends.

    I thought this was a blast! 'Hell-A' is depicted in a brilliantly dark and cynical light. The graphics are gorgeous, the musical score is great. Yes the gameplay loop is somewhat monotonous, but what is does, it does very well. Slaying zombies has never felt better, with the weapons feeling weighty and satisfying. The progression system is simple but sufficient, allowing you to focus on what really matters. You can easily stick to the main story, or venture out and complete optional side missions. Everything is nicely balanced. There are six characters to choose from and each one has their own entire dialogue recorded. Skills cards allow you to customise your approach. There are a couple of annoyances, such as med-kits not replenishing when you die and restart a check-point. Enemy variety is good, and the environment provides different ways to use elemental damage to your advantage, providing a tactical and strategic component to an otherwise straightforward, brutal gore-fest. I understand that this may not 're-invent the wheel,' but I personally feel it's almost perfect in what it does, and deserves extra credit given the development hell it's been through, having changed studios during production so many times. This game could have easily not existed. But I'm so glad it does. An absolute treat. Must play.… Expand

Each character distinguishes themselves enough that if you enjoy the core gameplay, an additional play through with another Slayer would be incentivised. The weapon modding system adds great detail and variety to the already stellar decimation of the walking dead. At times, zombies come at you en-masse, and I cannot properly describe the satisfaction in dismantling a horde of the undead in such visceral fashion, a feeling in which many other games of this ilk cannot replicate, in my opinion.
    For a game that languished in development for over a decade, Dead Island 2 is a confident yet subdued title, that wows with its grand moments of sheer destruction, whilst utilising linearity in its world design to hone in on and develop its game systems to great effects. While games such as Duke Nukem Forever show that a long and difficult development period can destroy a game at its core and hamper the overall experience, Dead Island 2 is a shining example that, if given the time and resources, a passionate team can deliver not only a fun game, but on that sits atop its genre, proud that it overcame the greatest of obstacles.    … Expand

    So, finally, it's here and it's a great game even more. I did a pre-order and didn't regret it cause game trailers and flow are self-explanatory. I enjoy it so much that I can lose time playing it. It definitely green light wherever your options are.

Developers put so much love and effort in this game, so I can’t just the rate lover than 8, even tho game have some problems, even big problems. But I understand why this happened.     Its dead island 1 but ten times better, I had a blast all the way through and never got bored of butchering zombies. I'm clueless to why so many are hating on this game it is honestly great. Its just below dying light 1 as my favourite zombie games out there, it is constant gory fun and was the greatness that dying light 2 should of been.

    After nearly 12h of gaming, After waiting for more than 10 years for the game, it's disgusting, but in the better way it could be. The story has a good start, the game is really immersive, the flesh is flying with each hit of my banoi baseball souvenir bat... It was really worth the waiting. Can't wait for each session of gaming this masterpiece.

    Just finished the main story and have enjoyed it from start to finish. The graphics are some of the best out on ps5 at the moment and the performance matched it. No bugs through my 25hr play through which is a rarity these days. If you're into zombie slaying games you can't go wrong with this 1 and the skill cards add a unique spin on things. Definitely recommend this game

    Not a good story, great gameplay, but something doesn't end well. I don't like when characters talk; lips are... from the 2003 game. In LA, you can find a maximum of 10 zombies in 10 meters and more. Gameplay and gameplay are fine.

I mean if you think about it with repetitive and boring logic guiding your enjoyment any game that uses a hand gun would fit into this category. Well seen it boring, dumb. Hmmm you have to swing the pipe like a bat, seen it, boring and dumb. I also see people complaining that you can't drive any of the cars. I'm left wondering, walking around town how many cars are unlocked with the keys in them waiting to be driven anyway? Not to mention 80% of them are visibly broken down. All the while people are stuck on repetitive and boring completely overlooking how much fun it was to bash in said former car owners head with a metal pipe or cut it clean off with a machete. Another thing I see mentioned is that the quests are generic, well then. Fetch, kill, talk to. Are these people wanting quests where you have to perform heart surgery, then Lasix, followed up by completely overhauling and rebuilding a 1930's pickup truck? It's a zombie killing game...you kill zombies. It looks gorgeous, destroying zombies is heavy and satisfying, and its not so overly complicated that everything you do invalidates the main premise. The game doesn't take itself to seriously, maybe nobody else should either, because it's a blast to play! Oh and on the topic of bugs... people must spend the energy needed to enjoy the game looking for them. I've been playing quite a while and haven't noticed any. But then again I didn't spend money on this game only to focus on revealing every single minute thing that could ever possibly happen to me in the realm of bugs. I'll admit there are games out there that are buggy but when you are 5 of 100 reviews that has such game breaking bugs that it turns the game into literal "garbage" it makes me wonder which variable is indeed glitching out. Not to mention these bugs are so prolific that people don't even bother to tell you what they are...maybe, just maybe, it's because, wait for it...there arent...any?… Expand

    Good graphics, interesting storyline but for some reason, I get motion sick everytime playing this game. Changed camera speed but still can`t continue to play more than an hour per day. Other than that, its a great game, fun killing zombies for new loots.

    Many will argue that there aren't enough enemy types, or that the weapon upgrades that underpin it all seem as if they came out of a decades-old game. And they'd be right. This is a game that follows a simple template. But it does so in a confessed way, and in the end the authors didn't promise anything beyond mindless and fun zombie slaughter. [Issue#327]

    We've had a pretty great time messing up some zombies in Hell-A. Dead Island 2 doesn't shoot for the stars, and therefore ends up neither overpromising nor under-delivering, so if you liked the first game you're pretty certain to have a fun time here.
