After the disastrous release in 2020 that was Cyberpunk due to its botched 8th-Gen version, not many people cared when the 9th gen version released in February last year, and the many glitches that has in the PS4 version, are now blacked out in the PS5 version thankfully but because it’s a FPS game, I see that the POV has gotten completely stale. But besides that overall, it’s a great game, sure it’s not for everyone, but the graphics, the story, and some glitches ACTUALLY now make sense. UPDATE: I am starting to enjoy this up and down road of an experience and because of that, I now say that it is a fantastic game ESPECIALLY on newer consoles in particular. Expand

My biggest recommendation with this game is to watch Cyberpunk Edgerunners the anime. Cyberpunk as a world seemed very uninteresting before I watched the anime. After watching the anime and going on David’s journey, that anime is really a solid toucher. Heart wrencher. So many ups and downs and after watching edgerunners, I found a whole new appreciation for the world in the game. (I played the game after I watched the anime). Going through V’s life and making those experiences are so much more enthralling knowing that canon to the world, David once upon a time in that same city made a name for his self. Now your V standing in that same city and actually being successful. Story is amazing. Gameplay could’ve used a tad bit more tuning but still I loved it. Graphics are stunning and the lighting is amazing, runs at 1440p 60 fps I believe on the ps5 with far 2. Pretty good image, I’d say it looks excellent most of the times be sometimes I wonder if it would look better with a slightly sharper image Expand

However outside of gigs and missions there isn't a huge amount to do in the oddly un-interactive world. NPCs are lifeless automatons. You can't play arcade games. You can't do street races. You can't steal cars for money. There's no "new game+" which is odd as even on hard mode I became god-like quite early on in my netrunner and katana playthroughs to the point where it became boring and unchallenging. There aren't any additional game modes like you get in other games (eg. multiplayer, survival, deathmatch, etc). I am hoping that the developer can work on this for future updates - if we had the same level of interactivity as what we have come to expect in games like GTA and watch dogs then this would be a world I'd be quite happy to stay in for a long time. The gameplay is improved, the driving is drastically improved, the overall experience on every front has been greatly improved... with the next gen patch.

Its not perfect and there are still things that need to be addressed but for the first time, if you have a next gen console or a beefy PC, its finally worth trying out as its as close to a finished product as its ever been. And its pretty good.

    cons:-

    - poor AI both enemies and NPC's in the street that feels very outdated

    - weapon customisation initially appears deep but turns out to be essentially meaningless as percs will add little to powerful weapons
    - confusing menus
    - too much emphasis on looting
    - non-existent crime system ie. you can rob people with no repercussions at any time
    - character customisation is utterly pointless as game is in 1st person all the time apart from driving
    - no shooting mechanic whilst driving

overall a good open world game when playing on next gen or high end PC

v1.5 on PS5 (bought on ps store deal). Waited till now after the awful launch, which never should have happened. Good graphics and world, good storytelling. Parts of the city are quite empty but by design. Main story probably a bit short, don't rush it, take all the extras in. Driving is not the best, and the gunplay is middling. Occasionally the on-foot pathing to an objective/marker is not optimal. Still playing with the skills/perks, not sure how much variety of viable builds there are, but then its not a particularly hard game so far unless you make it one. Life paths only impact the initial prologue I think.
It's NOT revolutionary in any sense really, so if you bought the pre-release hype, you'll likely never be satisfied; studios need to stop over-promising. But bought at reduced price and with modest expectations it's good.
Take the best of this and the recent Deus Ex games and do it in a poiished manner and you would have something special.
I'm playing this and AC: Valhalla right now, and I'd personally rate this higher overall despite being shorter

I think right now Cyberpunk 2077 is a really nice game that delivers excellent graphics, smooth gameplay and interesting RPG mechanics. At release, it was a whole different story but right now in 2023, Cyberpunk 2077 is certainly a better than average game.
Just don’t expect The Witcher 3 level of quality and you should appreciate Cyberpunk 2077 for what it is. For me, this is a 8,4/10

Just don’t expect The Witcher 3 level of quality and you should appreciate Cyberpunk 2077 for what it is. For me, this is a 8,4/10 game and one of the best I played recently. My playthrough lasted a little more than 65 hours and I did a lot of side content. In fact, most of the side content is well done. If you just rush through the main story, you’re missing a lot of stuff!
In terms of difficulty, you should be fin on normal or hard if you’re an average skilled adult and busy gamer like me. Here are some pros and cons for this game:

    Pros:
    • Sound effects are top-notch! If you have a good headset, you will hear an incredible number of details in the sound, especially in night-club environments

    • The RPG mechanics are good. There are a lot of different ways you can complete missions depending on your playstyle

    • Graphics are high-level. Night City is one of the best settings ever in a videogame.

    Cons:
    • There are pacing problems, especially for tutorial matters. At the beginning, the game throws you everything at the same time !

    • The story is just ok, nothing bad, nothing amazing

    • The replay value is limited if you want to respec. It’s not possible to redistribute some type of points in your skill tree

Overall, a great game and I’m sure the DLC will be amazing ! CDPR worked really hard to save this franchise and they succeed !

    The gameplay is Okaaaay.

    5. The game's musical score is perfect. It's dark and cold, and mysterious. Dystopian indeed.

    6. The environment is amazing and on a 60" TV, a lot of times I found myself really emerged into it all.

    Cons:
    1. There are some bugs. But not a detriment. I found most of them to be comical, like a car driving off wile the passangers are left behind, suspended in air. :)

    2. Character controls, walking, driving, combat...etc. could be better.

    3. First person view. I know what they tried to do with the first person view, but I think it doesn't fit as it should. I think there should have been an option to switch like there is while driving.

The final thing I would say is that I wish there was more character depth. Perhaps the story should have been a 50 hour story and not a 25 hour story. Otherwise the game is amazing. No one should compare the game to GTA or the like. It is a very differnt type of game. And I bet the next chapter of Cyberpunk will truly merit awards.

Honestly, Night City has got to be one of the best game worlds I've ever experienced. There is so much going on and it has a fantastic feel to it. The characters and acting are great across the board, with some really memorable people without just resorting to caricatures.

The gameplay is fun as you can choose several different directions: stealth, hand-to-hand, the normal variety of guns, or "netrunning" which allows you to essentially hack enemies and the environment in various ways to attack them. It's a shame that once you're down one path you can't really change. There is no way to max all stats and no way to reset your attributes. I'm not sure why this decision was made to be honest since it did limit the amount of variety of the gameplay (e.g. I maxed my "Body" stat and just beat everyone up with Gorilla Arms after that - I would've liked more opportunity to experiment with Netrunning and other combat methods but it seemed pointless and underpowered once I'd levelled up). I guess it encourages multiple playthroughs but it's quite a long game so I can't imagine doing a second playthrough any time soon.

The missions and story are all pretty good - with a few real stand out memories. I enjoyed them for the most part. The NCPD police activities got pretty samey and some gigs were better than others. But for the most part I enjoyed the action. I would have liked to have seen more action with the police - I basically never got a wanted level other than a few times when I accidentally ran someone over. It would've been interesting to have some missions where you had to escape a higher police presence since this really ended up being a non-factor in the game. I would've also liked there to be more races as I enjoyed the 4 that were there.

It's no secret that the game with littered with glitches when it was first released. While I did encounter a few in the ~100 hours that I played, this has largely been fixed now and shouldn't be a major factor in playing the game.

Overall I'd definitely recommend it and will be looking forward to a sequel (ideally one where it actually works on the launch date!)

I'm not familiar with the heavily criticized initial version. The Cyberpunk 2077 I played is one of the most awesome, fully realized game worlds I've ever experienced this side of Bioshock Infinite. In a game filled with good characters, Night City is the best one. This game is like Deus Ex with very high production values and a subversive streak crossed with GTA 5. The look of the world is so fully realized stylistically, and embodies that sort of 80s sense of futuristic cool. I loved the main storyline. It's like a great Gibson or Richard Morgan novel. The theme of iconic legends from the past returning for one more stab at glory resonated with me.
Characters are great, as interesting as Witcher 3. Each person on the street looks different. Missions are very well-designed. Replaying virtual experiences(BDs) is a really interesting evolution of the investigation scene.
On the downside, even now the game is still pretty buggy. NPCs getting stuck in cars that flip over them. The car summon feature is a mess, and will summon cars into buildings. There are all sorts of weird cutscene/storyline jumps and mission questline bugs. I can only imagine how bad the game must have been initially.
You sometimes have to hack shards of data to decrypt them. This involves scrolling down a long list of other shards to get to the encrypted ones. Really annoying. It's the lack of attention to detail in certain gameplay aspects that is juxtaposed so harshly with the quality of the story and world-building.
The biggest personal annoyance for me is that the dialog fast-forward button and crouch button are the same, so whenever you're trying to stand up or duck you can end up skipping important conversation.
Overall, I found the good to be well worth perservering through the bad. I also really like that CD Projekt tried to do something bold and original here. They could have just made a Witcher 4, but they swung for an epic open world Cyberpunk game, which hasn't been tried since Genesis Shadowrun as far as I can recall, and even if it didn't quite land, I support developers thinking big like this.

Having had a major face lift and the developers trying to fix alot of the issues - I've decided to give it another go on the PS5 and I am pleasantly surprised with the results! I think the main issue is that the game was hyped beyond belief and anything short of a 10/10 would of not been good enough for alot of hardcore gamers. If I'm totally honest and this game came out today with fewer issues, it would still struggle to be considered a top title but the studio also had to compete with their own success in the form of The Witcher 3. I'd still encourage anyone to give it another go but I also completely agree with anyone who feels like they've had their fingers burnt. Maybe focusing on the fact the devs have genuinely listened to their fans and tried to implement the biggest changes that were demanded will allow you to play it and actually have fun which is what its all about. Also, any open world game nowadays will get compared to GTA, this is not GTA - Don't expect that and you'll again, have a better chance of enjoying the game. Expand

The good stuff: the radio music, the cars, the city, the verticality, the weapons and clothing, the story, the movement and shooting, the lore, the graphics on ps5.

What could have been improved: On ps4, the game often crashed. no game has crashed more than cyberpunk2077 in my life. on launch, pop-ins, mission bugs, and graphical down grades were noticeable. clothing and inventory issues. game crashing when i threw grenades. it was a nightmare to be honest. things are better on ps5. however, we were promised more. some areas are half finished, some features shown in trailers were not present. No eating animation? The game has the potential to be a 10/10, but too much missing.

While there are many negative things to point out, Night city's charm makes me forget the problems it has. There is no place i'd rather be than in this game, in a car, listening to the radio. I give this game an 88/100.

The bad news is that Cyberpunk 2077 is not the RPG game that anyone hoped it would be. At best, it is an adventure game with RPG elements. The game plays like shotgun wedding between Grand Theft Auto and Deus Ex. You have almost total access to a giant open world city and cyborg gadgets and hacking skills. The open world is not as lively and interactive as GTA and the stealth and hacking are a pale comparison to Deus Ex. The gameplay can be fun, but so often you run into poorly designed encounters and see the limits of the game engine.

The story itself is a dud. I spent about 70 hours running side missions and avoid the story altogether. Some the side missions only unlock with story progression and other require a higher level. This kind of gating of content is never fun, and the true openness of games like GTA and Skyrim (and now Elden Ring) is the reason those games are so successful and other games are not. The issues with the story start with pacing. You have to follow and talk to a lot of slow walking, slow talking NPCs. Dialogue hardly matters except for a few ending options, and even then, the ramifications of dialogue choices are opaque. Some of the characters are likeable but the interactions with those characters almost always occurs outside of gameplay and I kept hitting the circle button to skip dialogue and get back into the action. This isn't Skyrim where you can have a companion to hang out with during missions. You also have zero interaction with rank and file NPCs. You can hit square to talk to them and they will give you one of 5 canned responses like "I need a nap." The star of this game is Johnny Silverhand, voiced by Keanu Reaves. I do not believe that any major actor has every recorded so much dialogue for a video game. The voice acting is fine but the Johnny Silverhand character is a toxic douchebag who does not in anyway enhance the gameplay experience.

For a game set in a world filled with cyborgs and 2077 technology, gear options are not fun. All of the gear is gated by level. You cannot be enterprising and save your money to buy awesome cyborg parts early in the game. You will need "street cred", the right level, and the right attributes. The clothing and weapon options are also extremely limited for the protagonist. You cannot wear everything the NPCs wear like in Skyrim. Instead you find that the protagonist wears whatever gear has the most armor, making personal style meaningless. Weapons choice is the standard stuff you see in every game: pistol, SMG, assault rifle, sniper rifle, shotgun, and machine gun. You could be playing DOOM 2077. Actually, this game reminds me of DOOM conversions in the 1990s like Rise of the Triads. Just take your standard open world shooter, change a few character models, and then call it Cyberpunk.

The game play is fun when the story does not get in the way of gameplay. I focused on hacking and could take out waves of enemies from a safe distance with only the touch of a button. (Or two buttons, L1 and square.) After about level 20, the game play is too easy. The game will warn you about the police and their MaxTac unit but I never saw them. Some of the enemies are boss level characters that cannot be taken down with high level hacks, but even they are just dumb a.i. driven NPCs. My protagonist had the level "Body" and managed to win every boxing match in the game. In some ways this is the true RPG experience: start out weak, level up, become a living god, and tear through your enemies like they were made of paper. All of this overpowered gameplay feels good until the game gives you another scripted story sequence to burst your bubble. CD Projekt Red has already announced expansions for this game, and my advice to them is to get out of the way of players.

All in all, Cyberpunk 2077 is not a bad game. If you avoid the bugs, Cyberpunk is actually a good game. With the right management, it could have been a great game. Maybe it still can be.

There's plenty to do in Night City with many quests and sides gigs to do to keep you occupied. The side gigs are quite repetitive and monotonous and offer nothing expect a means to level up your character. However, level design, voice acting and just general vibe of the game is its saving grace for me. The biggest selling point is the atmosphere and presentation. It captures the cyber punk aesthetic better than any other media to date. The retro futuristic cars, clothing, and setting are extremely well designed and really add to the immersion. The amount of billboards and advertisements thrown in your face, the constant noise of commercials everywhere you go, the neon lights coming from every angle, even down to the graffiti all throughout the city that feels like each individual piece of graffiti was carefully placed rather than randomly added as an afterthought, and it creates a very immersive world. I also appreciate the depth to the explorable world - the carefully placed buildings that you can enter, the alleys, the underground areas, the stairwells, everything is designed in such a way that the city really feels like a city, rather than a series of blocks. Is it all that it was advertised to be? Absolutely not. The game sometimes feels like most of the resources was spent on the world design, but not as much in making it feel like a complete experience.

The overall story is pretty good and the voice acting is exceptional all across the board. However, the story is incredibly short. It feels like once the story begins to pick up steam, you’re actually beginning to slide into the finish line. The main story is very short, and feels more like a DLC.

Gameplay has been tremendously improved since launch. The gunplay is solid but unfortunately it does feel like a bit of a generic shooter. That’s not to say it’s bad, because it’s not, it just adds nothing new to the crowded market of shooters. The driving is the weakest part of the gameplay, I still don’t understand why the driving physics are the way they are - very loose and difficult to steer with precision - I find myself crashing into things when I would never do that in any other game. The character development has been greatly refined and it actually makes sense now, however it’s sort of useless, you can go through the entire game without using a single skill point. All in all, the gameplay does nothing really wrong, but it doesn’t stand out from most other shooters and open world games. There are still glitches all throughout the game, but it’s on par for the likes of a Bethesda open world game - you notice them, but the rest of the game makes up for it so you don’t care. They really aren’t that bad anymore.

I think you have to go into this game with a free mind. Ignore the disastrous launch, ignore the terrible press, ignore the promises made prior to release, and most importantly ignore the whiny and entitled gamers that will not stop complaining about everything. I hope Cyberpunk will eventually become a comeback story, similar to No Man’s Sky. It’s clear that this game had a ton of passion, thought, and effort put into it, and that they do not want to allow years of development go to waste. It’s fun and playable, but it still feels like a shell of what they wanted the game to be. You don’t notice it as much in the first 5 or so hours, but when the game opens up, the flaws become more and more apparent.

However a few things. I had some bugs still, mostly where npcs walk through windows and things but I have a nasty sound bug when the game is paused or on menus, it plays some static noise through headphones, it’s horrid. But generally the game moves smoothly and combat is pretty fun. I find the city rather soulless though, and the lore and things just doesn’t work for me, I find myself skipping them, and a lot of the scenery and things just isn’t for me.

Elden Ring was released and after 30 minutes of playing that game I was hooked and dropped CP2077 very easily and have forgotten where I was even up to. I will likely go back to it, but yeah... good game not a great game. Buy it on sale and don’t expect the world and you’ll probably like it.

A richly detailed universe that sometimes lacks coherence.
A relatively vast open world in which boredom can set in.
An interesting but under-exploited story and lore, with a slightly botched ending.

To hash out one common misconception
Contrary to popular belief. No 2077 wasn't developed for 8 years, back when that teaser was made was
When the witcher 2 was already out the door and the wild hunt was being developed. The most work that was done to 2077 at the time was a small team doing some draft work on art and characters and didn't go into full development till the E3 announcement (or rather when the wild hunt dlcs dropped).

And since they couldn't re-use most of the assets they had for the witcher to save some time along with them creating an entirely new game engine and making new models from the ground up, the game was a recipe for disaster unless CDPR we're to give the devs the time and money they need to make the game functional (specifically the fact that the devs said they needed 6 years for it to be functionally sound).

So with all of that in mind, I'm not gonna take the sides of 10/10 masterpiece or this game is one of the cardinal sins amongst the gaming industry since one can be misconstrued as ass-patting and the other just outright juvenile (not every negative review mind you, you know who you are) and show a bit of compassion for the poor devs who I imagine went through a similar development process like the anthem or a more relevant example halo infinite and kicking down the dev would just be disheartening and I imagine frustrating to hear that their efforts became meaningless in the end and can be real demotivating.
And yes, obviously this kind of rush n crunch development must end, but quit demanding more from the devs just because your ignorance causes you to not dissociate developers and executives along with the game is out and assuming there's perceived breathing room and pump out updates akin to the average COD game cause that just defeats the purpose in seeming like you care for this industry and want to hold those responsible accountable since all this is doing is just painting the gaming community as continuously unsatisfied brainwashed screeching infants who always bluff about letting their wallets speak and then continue to finance said companies that are ruining the industry.

Anyway, enough fluff words you probably glazed over and get to my thrown-out opinion this game, also spoilers.

Story- It's serviceable and open-ended to self insert yourself in the game, personally I just ran with the nomad run which to me is probably the best intro to the game in terms of showing not everything goes to plan, which all of them could be a bit of foreshadowing as to what happens at kompeki plaza, it's nice.
The main issue I have was the intro montage where I feel can deliver that you grew with Jackie and his folks but it would be nice to experience it, sure it would add a few hours but I feel like it would have made sense but it is what it is and I guess cramming in silverhand's story, granted it's a sequel to cyberpunk red, a tabletop game but let's be real, not many people in the gaming community is gonna try out tabletop RPGs even though it's responsible for even making turn-based RPGs a thing, to begin within the RPG sphere of gaming.
The development with some of the characters feels slightly rushed, the big offender, being Jackie and to a degree Silverhand (knowing his lore), while the rest I can't comment much on since most of them like Judy, Panam, Evelyn, Deshawn, etc. Those two certainly stand out and unlike any of Kojima's work, it's not filled to the brim with just irrelevant walls of exposition that can be mistaken for dialogue between characters with quirky moments on a screen for the main plot.

Gameplay- Despite its "Next-gen of open-world games" it doesn't innovate much with the formula, which isn't an inherently bad thing but it's no doubt disingenuous. Shootings fine, driving can range from decent handles to ice skating blindfolded with one foot but that could just be me.
That's about it and although the bugs that are game-breaking are annoying (pre 1.5 updates) my playthrough in terms of game-breaking hasn't been consistent to my knowledge. Massive props for the design and audio to aid in the immersion along with the handmade side quests.

Audio & Soundtrack-Great, no complaints about it at all. The guns sound solid and the unique ones are nice (the malorian arms 3156 comes to mind) and the music is also great.

Conclusion-Although 1.5 doesn't offer much, it's at the very least mostly sound for those that don't use mods, a sign that the devs are at least hunkering down and trying and fix a game that is barely keeping itself together.
Its flaws and bugs that due to limited character I can't properly explain are what's holding the game back from being fully realized, all people can hope for (if said hope is still present) is that CDPR can be able to fix the game.
But only their next game and time will show if they learned anything from all of this and if they're worth your time or just another one of them.

    Thoughts-
Given the state the game launched in, it’s going to take many significant updates over a long period of time to get it at least somewhat close to the level that many had hoped it would be at over a year ago- and even that might not be enough. As things stand right now though, Cyberpunk 2077 still has a lot of glaring issues that need to be fixed. For now, all I can say is that it’s gone from being a mediocre game to one that’s slightly better than mediocre. If you have been waiting to take your first steps into Night City until meaningful improvements are made to the game, my advice would be to wait a little bit longer.

Minor spoilers about the plot. If you do not wish for any spoilers just skip the story segment in this review.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that has great potential to be an amazing game but fails do to its shortcomings. I had a good time roaming around Night City completing various gigs and side quests but the game still feels far from what was promised from CDPR. I’ll be going over the story and what it’s about without going into spoilers as well as the positives and the negatives of this game in this review. Note I will be referring to the main protagonist V as He/Him since I chose the male option.

    The Story:
The story although not the best is still a great tale to experience. The tale follows the main protagonist named V who is a mercenary following a job gets stuck with a chip which holds the consciousness of a rockerboy from the 2020’s named Johnny Silverhand (played by the legendary Keanu Reeves) the chip is slowly rewriting V’s mind to that of Johnny which will give Johnny control over V’s body actively killing V so V and Johnny work together to find a way to remove the chip without killing him to save V’s life

    Positives:
The story while no where near the best is still a pretty rock solid tale to experience. The city you explore is highly dense and feels like a real city. Side quests are some of the best I’ve seen in any videogame and hardly any of them feel like filler. Combat and gameplay as a whole is absolutely fantastic allowing multiple options for players to how they want to approach an encounter, whether be guns blazing, sneaking around and taking people out silently, or even hacking your way through which is even expanded more with cyberwear you can buy from a ripperdoc using the in game currency. The lore of Cyberpunk 2077 is vastly rich and intriguing which lore junkies such as myself absolutely enjoy. The Characters in this game feel like real people whether it’s from major characters like Johnny Silverhand (played by the legendary Keanu Reeves) or smaller characters that you meet briefly which is all complemented more by the wonderful performances all the voice actors give. Player choice actually feels like it matter in this game cause you can suffer some serious consequences like characters dying do to your choices to smaller stuff like whether you are straight, bi, or gay. You can even make your character trans when you first create them. I won’t go into any further detail cause it truly is something you will have experience for yourself and note some of these choices are difficult. Upgrading is highly important in Cyberpunk allowing you to choose what your strengths and weaknesses are. You can’t unlock all skills and attributes forcing the player to carefully choose what upgrades fits their play style most. Negatives:
Even after 2 years of huge patches the game is extremely buggy ranging from gameplay like cyber wear not working causing me to die in combat as it affects my play style to visual bugs like low poly textures and pop in and pop out as well as weird shimmering and bad lighting making it hard to see while driving in the badlands in first person. The game is so buggy still that I experienced multiple crashes throughout my play through. Even tho it is far more playable it still needs more years of work to fix this game. Another downside to this game is the police system which is hardly a thing since all you have to do is drive off or just simply run away and you’ll lose them which feels extremely lack luster since the police are supposed to be depicted as aggressive and relentless. Continuing relationships you make is another big problem as when you explore the and come across various side quests you make friendships and even romantic relationships that kind of just hit a brick wall after completing various storylines. The most you can do with them is call them or visit them and exchange the same dialogue over and over again. They can easily expand on this simply by asking if they want to hang out and you could have a buddy with you as you explore the world or even with romantic relationships you can them explore with you or even invite them to bed.

    Take Away:
Even those Cyberpunk is a incredible game and I absolutely had a blast playing it there are still major problems with the game that still need to be fixed leaving me no choice but to give it a 6/10.

Giving it 6/10 by many reasons. Technically, this is a very bad game, lots of issues, glitches, bugs, broken shadows and animations...I can talk for hours about how this is bad. But this game gave me a lot of emotions and nearly killed me in the end, I was very depressed. I went a long way and left with nothing, there is no choices which can lead to different endings, the end is one, you can't change it entirely, only some details, so no matter what you do, your choices means nothing. This is a huge mistake, like a mistake with Jackie's story, which is totally crap. Where is roleplay CDPR? Where to find it? Why I can't change everything or at least the ending? Why you lie? Why you release so bad quality product?

I still can't get what is wrong with romances...I think they are simply not working, at all. Look for yourself, you romance someone, then you don't see him/her for the rest of the game, you have several conversations but you can't get it to work, you can't meet the character and can't spend time together, you know...it's a bit stupid, what the point of it then? There is no point in real romance, right now I prefer to have nothing serious with them, thanks to you CDPR, romances are dead part of the game.

Forget about re-play it again, there is no NG+, and probably after you finish the game, you will never back in it, because of the ending.

Well...I won't lie, like you CDPR, I really love the story. I can't agree with every decision CDPR made, especially with Corpo beginning, it's very bad and won't tell the full story, Street Kid much better. Still, the characters and side-quests are great, CDPR did great job creating quests, and today with patch 1.52 it even playable so I can even forget about CDPR promises and lies, but I will not. I want to give it 10 out of 10, but I can't and won't.

The game is still buggy - probably the buggiest game I have ever played. NPCs have numerous glitches - they clip through furniture, sink into the ground, float in the air, smoke cigarettes hovering in the air, go invisible, etc. My motorcycle exploded and disappeared in the middle of a main quest, forcing me to walk the rest of the way. Dialog options go invisible, making it hard to continue a quest. NPCs lose their voice. Etc. I also had the game crash on me a couple of times.

I don't know why they put so many pedestrian NPCs in the public areas. They just wander around aimlessly like ants. Or bunch up in long lines due to the glitchy AI. There are few interesting conversations. They don't have much behavior. They don't react if you stare at them, block their way or interfere with their meaningless business. And since they crowd the place, they tend to bump into each other, showcasing their poor AI and behavior. Bump into any one of them with your car, and they run away in droves. It's the kind of behavior you would expect from a flock of pigeons. I don't quite see the point. Might as well reduce all the clutter and free up GPU cycles for more meaningful things.

The art direction in my opinion is poor. Rather than building a glorious futuristic city, they built a stale concrete jungle filled with literally heaps and heaps of trash, clutter, ugly graffiti and badly dressed rag dolls. Who wants to spend time in a place like that? Even the real world doesn't look as ugly as Night City. If you are going to spend all this effort creating a fantasy world - why not make it a cool one? The city is also 95% empty. There is very little reason to explore Night City.

Light sources tend to be glaring primary colors - red, blue, green, purple - which color everything around them, leading to monochrome scenes where everything is red or purple, etc. It all looks very fake, which breaks immersion - just like the sloppily animated NPCs mentioned earlier. HDR is also badly handled, and very hard to configure. Blown out light sources and white-outs are frequent.

On PS5 at least there are a lot of low-res textures. Every display, neon screen, etc. is noticeably low-res. As are the 2D stand-ins for remote objects. There is 16 GB of RAM to play with, so not sure why this is. I am thinking the game is still poorly optimized. There are these in-game computers you can access and interact with, and they sometimes offer such low resolution that you can't read the screen. It's a shame because many other parts have very high graphics quality, and it creates this weird contrast that mars the visual effects. Hopefully this will be improved this in future patches.

NPC hair is another issue. It just looks terrible. Many NPCs look like they had a severe bad hair day, with pixelated and aliasing hair. I am guessing anti-aliasing is not turned on the PS5. Again, it seems like the game is poorly optimized.

So why even play this game? The main and side quests are well done, with interesting characters and stories. Even though the story can be confusing at times. After finishing the main story, I think I only understood about 60% of what was going on.

The longer I played, the more I enjoyed it. I admit it was rough going at first. The game has many, many flaws. It's this weird mix of a bad and unfinished GTA clone and a strong story-driven video game. It's frustrating, too, because this could have been a great game, rather than a pretty good one. It's clearly a very ambitious undertaking, ultimately too big for CDPR to handle, but I have to admire their effort.

It took me less than 30 hours to finish the game at a leisurely pace. I completed a number of the side quest arcs, gigs and stupid shoot-outs in addition to the main story. That is quite short given the size and scope of the city world they built. Kind of makes me wonder what was the point of building such a big world.

If the game wasn't so buggy or short on content I would probably have rated it 7/10, but in its current state 5/10 seems about right.

I may pick up Cyberpunk 2077 again for another playthrough if they release additional patches and content. But for now this one goes back on the shelf.

I can't get my head around this. This game is dead. Get it up to a state where it's not filled with bugs so those who pay for it get a working product and then release Cyberpunk 2078 or something that actually has a story worth playing. Either that a huge expansion story to 2077.

Even if you look past the bugs (Which at the moment there isn't too many obvious ones but some still appear) this game is still basic. The devs have spent so long fixing this mess that they haven't had time to add any real content to the game. After completing the game there is virtually nothing to do. The story isn't all that great anyways. You can't really get attached to any of the characters. I am confused as well cos its like they want you to get attached to the player character but at the same time you never leave the 1st person view? If my character is going to have a long conversation then do it in a cutscene so I feel more engaged as a player. If my character doesn't have much dialog then stick with the 1st person view. Also at times the game will give the choice between 2 decisions. Don't worry about which choice you make as they make no difference at all. I am guessing they wanted to have different choices affect the game but then cos they wanted to rush it out they just made all choices do the same exact thing. There is a couple of side missions in this game. I am guessing they just stuck them in just so when they released the game there was something other than the story. If you see this game for anything less than £20 it mite be worth buying to mess around on. If you are patient it mite be worth playing in a few years when they finally finished developing it. In the mean time CDPR will likely be over promoting this with sales and advertising in order to try and make some of the money back they spent on this so it wont ever be worth paying full price when it will go on sale all the time.
I wish i could blame publishers for forcing CDPR to meet deadlines and stuff but "oh yh, they publish their own games". There was really no excuse for the mess this game launched as.
I know games release with bugs these days but this was a complete joke. I am glad that this company is suffering with law suits from share holders and so on because it sets an example that developers can't keep releasing unfinished products and then fixing it with updates. It's not fair that players have to suffer due to a companies greed. Is it really so much to ask that you play test your games and launch them in a full working state. Remember the days when we would get pre release demons that allowed players to test the games for bugs and then give the developers feedback on what to fix?
These days you only get to see what the developers want you to see. If the game is full of bugs you don't get a refund you just have to hope that its gonna get fixed in an update.
Take the GTA trilogy as an example. Full of bugs and likely never gonna get fixed. Untested and Unfished products should NOT be allowed to be sold to consumers. If a game contains obvious bugs you should be entitled to a full refund which gets charged back to the publishers.

    -T-poses
-The ability to tag enemies works less than half the times I try.
-Occasionally I wasn't allowed to save my game even though I was on free roam.
-Reflections are sometimes so strong and badly placed that I can't read computer screens.
-The 30fps mode feels slow and laggy. For me it is unplayable.
-Pedestrians don't seem to be aware of my car and the moment they touch it even if I go at 0.0001km/h they get injured or die and I get wanted by the police.
-Summoning your vehicle, it spawns at unreachable places or inside graphics and sometimes blow up
-The prompt to grab enemies from stealth doesn't always show up and I can't grab them.
-Not being able to fully unclothe your character isn't obviously anything serious but I include it because it makes no sense as a programming choice since you can see your V naked on the menus. Plus I like to play the game as a sim and it drives me crazy to shower with underwear on, even though I can't even see it.
-Npcs move awkwardly and fly off bounds.
-V makes random stuff like climbing stairs that aren't there.
-Enemies go on alert mode because they find bodies that aren't even there.
-The enemy alert icons stop showing at random (the yellow and red eye icons).
-The center dot suddenly shows up even thow it is turned off in the settings and won't go away until I restart the game.
Those are some problems that came to mind right now. And they all happened at a game time of less than 10 hours.
I decided to resume my fresh save and finish the game because I don't think, after more than a year of waiting that any substantial fixes are coming. I sure hope I am wrong though. Hopefully the nice story will keep me from hating the game but I sure won't love it. And I really wanted to. If you find the game on a good sale, you like a good story and don't mind all the bugs I totally reccomend it.

Good looking game but a very very small main story and mostly boring, repetitive and uninspiring side stories. I would have never guessed this game was made by the same people that made the witcher 3. Also the most boring and annoying platinum I have ever gotten. I ended up disliking the game even more because of that

This is a big, beautiful open-world game with a lot to like, but also a lot to hate. The main story is novel and has its moments, but the terrible save system, terrible city driving, forced walking scenes , forced waiting between missions, repetitive quantity-over-quality filler, bullet-sponge bosses, and drawn out ending result in a bad aftertaste.

There are still multiple bugs that required me to reload a save to continue or in one case, reload the game. Even little things annoy like the inconsistent button to select/continue (sometimes X, sometimes square, sometimes hold a button). While there is a lot of RPG aspects, it is held back by level-gating items and weird enemy levels, and feels more like a mediocre looter-shooter.

I played the main quest and a few side quests totaling a little more than 20 hours. I'm glad I borrowed this from the library and while it is playable and interesting, I cannot recommend it.

Overall the bugs and crashes still overshadow the bright side of the game, this is just on the ps5 and I can only imagine how disastrous it must be on previous gen. Expand

It started with every time I go outside of the city the weather locks into a sandstorm that will remain until I do a mission that forces it to change. The bugs seem to operate like pulling a loose string on a sweater. They just keep getting worse and more abundant the more I play to the point that it feels like the game is collapsing onto itself. At this point I can’t answer my phone and can’t call people, completely killing the ability to move forward through the main story. Objectives in missions disappear, resulting in having to load previous saves. There’s loads of other stuff that can be inconsequential to a minor annoyance but when they’re preventing me from progressing, what’s the point of playing. This game won’t be playable for years if ever at all. Expand

Has a lot of issues that need to be fixed. Should have been released early 2023 instead of late 2020, has a long way to go before being an ‘open-world’ game.

okay .. i was a big fan of witcher 3 .. this one ? got a little disappointed
    ..
    1) gameplay ( gameplay had a lot of problems ... level design was awful .. you will not get health or more ammo after a long mission specially in very hard mode ... enemies are like a tank .. you should shoot 60 bullet in head to kill someone ( we don't call it difficulty .) and we get killed by 3 bullet ...

    2) graphic ( draw distances are awful ... cars disappear and appear in streets like a ps2 or ps3 game... humans too ... no face motion capture and good design .. they just designed **** and sex good , what a disappointment ...
    3) story .. damn it could be a master pieces but the more i played it the less i cared about game and story .. i got disappointed , thats all (english not my first language ) .. so please make Witcher 4 wisely

    1. CMON fix the field of view and add slider. Nobody wants to watch this narrow claustrophobic keyhole. 2. Fix this laggy aiming and remove any accelerations and make it "snappy" meaning responsive, no smoothning or other artificial crap. 3. Fix ads aiming sensitivity. Its same speed than without adsing. It should be slower.

Gra stworzona na od podstaw na złych założeniach. Brak widoku TPP zniechęca do eksperymentowania z wyglądem postaci. Walka wręcz toporna i powtarzalna. Strzelanie nieprzyjemne. Interfejs nieczytelny. Przedmioty nieciekawe. Rozwój postaci nieudany. Ładna grafika, dialogi i ciekawa historia. Sporo błędów.

I tried it after patch 1.61 and DLSS 3 update, I can definitely say that this game has finally reached BETA 2 years after its release. I can't believe how they waste this pure potential. What a pity.

Off the top of my head I can’t think of another game with a backstory like Cyberpunk 2077. It’s fortunate that CDPR were able to spend the last year-plus continuing development of the game, listening to feedback, adding content, and fixing tons and tons of issues. Many games would simply not have gotten the extra time and money spent that Cyberpunk got, but this time CDPR got it right. Now is the right time to play this game; I’m not saying it’s flawless and perfect, but it’s nearly so, for such an elaborate, massive game. This is the game we were hoping for back in December 2020, but I’m reminded of the adage ‘better late than never.’ And that certainly applies here.

Despite significant technical and in-play improvements for this PS5 version, much of the game’s core remains unchanged. Quest design and storytelling, though not without their moments on the critical path, too often feel rife with unrealised potential. Cyberpunk 2077’s abrasive personality is still clear as day too, inescapable in its script and blaring out from Night City’s many questionable billboards. If you choose to venture into Night City, we hope you find what you’re looking for. [Issue#12, p.72]

Despite its mismanaged launch, Cyberpunk is a success story. What began in December 2020 as an incomplete, often-unplayable sore spot for CD Projekt has become one of the most immersive RPGs I’ve ever played – one whose visuals, soundtrack, and narrative can go toe to toe with the strongest in the genre. Despite Cyberpunk’s technical headaches, I’ve enjoyed more than 40 hours in it and don’t see myself losing interest in its rich world or side content anytime soon. Cyberpunk’s botched beginnings warranted the scorn players treated it with, but if patch 1.5 is any indication, Night City’s future looks bright.
