    Great game before the patch just made even better by the next gen upside. Although it's more around an 8 than a 10. I scored it a 10 to offset all these little babies crying about a a country ruled by a dictator facing consequences for acting like a country ruled by a dictator.     After the "Next Gen" update the game is finally approaching a stable, "finished" state although its not 100% there yet.

    There are still bugs on occasion but they seem to be the exception now and not the rule, the experience is much, much more stable... on PS5 with the next gen patch. The ray-tracing and improved graphics finally show off how good the Red Engine can actually look.     The gameplay is improved, the driving is drastically improved, the overall experience on every front has been greatly improved... with the next gen patch.

    Its not perfect and there are still things that need to be addressed but for the first time, if you have a next gen console or a beefy PC, its finally worth trying out as its as close to a finished product as its ever been. And its pretty good.    … Expand

    The ps5 version with the new patch is fantastic. I'm really enjoying the story, the characters, it looks great at a solid 60fps. There are still some bugs but mostly visual glitches - nothing game breaking so far. I wish this is the game that had been released at launch.

    Отличный сюжет, хорошие персонажи. Музыка в игре и по радио отличная.
    Места интереса подразделяются на три категории: 1) просто фармилки. 2) заказы от фиксеров в которых можно переодически разузнать лор игры. С вероятностью 50% там будет заказ с минисодержанием или же просто очередная фармилка. 3) Квесты. Они сделаны хорошо, а некоторые    Отличная игра, но построенная на сыром движке.

    Основной сюжет хорош с интресными концовками и титрами. Лор игры тоже очень интересен.
    Вождение сделано неплохо, водить на мотоцикле, да ещё и с адаптивными курками под радио просто наслаждение. На машине от первого лица не очень удобно. От третьего лица везде нормально.
    Стрельба тоже хорошая, с геймпадом играть удобно и из-за адаптивных курков приятно.
    Взлом противников тоже сделан интересно с достаточно большим количеством скриптов, которые можно использовать.
    Имплантов с разными способностями можно было бы сделать побольше, большая их часть влияет только на статы, хотя и активных тоже впринципе хватает.
    А дальше отрицательные моменты.
    Система с телефонными звонками не доделана и иногда приходится скипать время очень долго, чтобы просто взять квест.
    Искусственный интелект оставляет желать лучшего.
    Призываемые машины часто летят по воздуху, а не едут пока не становятся доступными для посадки в них.
    В миссии с гонкой ии у врагов был очень плох, если они вдруг отставали, то просто как на катапульте запускались, чтобы догнать тебя, это уже не плохо, а смешно. Также переодически по середине дороги в воздухе спавнились люди.
    Также просто бывают небольшие баги по типу в руках персонажей что-то застряло, забагались анимации, игра вылетела и т.д.
    В общем движок игры ещё сырой, но насладится игрой это не сильно помешало из-за многочисленных положительных моментов, сто часов игры проведено с кайфом.    … Expand

    Found the game disappointing. Empty streets and a strangely desolate city without depth, below average fighting mechanism, plenty of minor glitches, terrible endings ( all of them ). Just unsatisfying and unfulfilling. Not sure if the world was even as big as it was made out to be, however, it just felt empty anyway...

    I can get all the digs this game is getting due to its lousy launch
    but after patch 1.5 and having played through the entire game and all the side content
    i can safely say, this game is ONE OF THE BEST PIECES GAMING HAS TO OFFER, its not a perfect game
    but its one of the most memorable gaming experiences i've ever had

    Amazing game, amazing story, the PS5 edition works great with extremely few bugs like on every other game. It's a must play title for every action rpg fan out there. Highly recommended for PS5. It looks great on fidelity mode but i always prefer fps over looks and on performance mode it runs smooth and looks pretty good.

    To be honest it's pretty much a decent game, the problem might be that's a very ambitious project to nowadays. I'm pretty sure that it would suits better with an improved engine that might come up in the next few decades... but anyway i almost didn't see any bug through gameplay, the storyline seems to be pretty good but i feel it has too much sex appeal sometimes. it's an alright gameTo be honest it's pretty much a decent game, the problem might be that's a very ambitious project to nowadays.     For a game like CP77, it is impossible to write a short review. Leaving aside the fact of all the controversy with the original release I get the impression that some people are not evaluating it objectively. I went through the game in version 1.2 last year and the quality of that version is a completely different story. We should leave that aside.

    Here, however, I'm focusing on version 1.5 for PS5. In my opinion, this is finally the production everyone has been waiting for. Finally polished, with good graphics and an engaging story line. Every aspect of the game mechanics is solid. That's why I don't understand the low ratings some people give it.     Dużo poprawek w nowym patchu. W mieście wróciło życie. Podczas jazdy autem na trigerze czuć zmiane biegów. Fabuła jest bardzo dobra. Wróciłem do gry specjalnie po next gen patchu i nie żałuję.

    Fantastic action RPG in the vein of the Fallout series. I have sunk hours into the game already and barely scratched the surface.

    Giving a 10 as it had so many kinks to iron out originally, but the patches have addressed almost all of these and the PS5 upgrade was FREE too

    To hash out one common misconception
    Contrary to popular belief. No 2077 wasn't developed for 8 years, back when that teaser was made was
    When the witcher 2 was already out the door and the wild hunt was being developed. The most work that was done to 2077 at the time was a small team doing some draft work on art and characters and didn't go into full development till the E3 announcement (or rather when the wild hunt dlcs dropped).

    And since they couldn't re-use most of the assets they had for the witcher to save some time along with them creating an entirely new game engine and making new models from the ground up, the game was a recipe for disaster unless CDPR we're to give the devs the time and money they need to make the game functional (specifically the fact that the devs said they needed 6 years for it to be functionally sound).

    So with all of that in mind, I'm not gonna take the sides of 10/10 masterpiece or this game is one of the cardinal sins amongst the gaming industry since one can be misconstrued as ass-patting and the other just outright juvenile (not every negative review mind you, you know who you are) and show a bit of compassion for the poor devs who I imagine went through a similar development process like the anthem or a more relevant example halo infinite and kicking down the dev would just be disheartening and I imagine frustrating to hear that their efforts became meaningless in the end and can be real demotivating.
    And yes, obviously this kind of rush n crunch development must end, but quit demanding more from the devs just because your ignorance causes you to not dissociate developers and executives along with the game is out and assuming there's perceived breathing room and pump out updates akin to the average COD game cause that just defeats the purpose in seeming like you care for this industry and want to hold those responsible accountable since all this is doing is just painting the gaming community as continuously unsatisfied brainwashed screeching infants who always bluff about letting their wallets speak and then continue to finance said companies that are ruining the industry.

    Anyway, enough fluff words you probably glazed over and get to my thrown-out opinion this game, also spoilers.

    Story- It's serviceable and open-ended to self insert yourself in the game, personally I just ran with the nomad run which to me is probably the best intro to the game in terms of showing not everything goes to plan, which all of them could be a bit of foreshadowing as to what happens at kompeki plaza, it's nice.
    The main issue I have was the intro montage where I feel can deliver that you grew with Jackie and his folks but it would be nice to experience it, sure it would add a few hours but I feel like it would have made sense but it is what it is and I guess cramming in silverhand's story, granted it's a sequel to cyberpunk red, a tabletop game but let's be real, not many people in the gaming community is gonna try out tabletop RPGs even though it's responsible for even making turn-based RPGs a thing, to begin within the RPG sphere of gaming.
    The development with some of the characters feels slightly rushed, the big offender, being Jackie and to a degree Silverhand (knowing his lore), while the rest I can't comment much on since most of them like Judy, Panam, Evelyn, Deshawn, etc. Those two certainly stand out and unlike any of Kojima's work, it's not filled to the brim with just irrelevant walls of exposition that can be mistaken for dialogue between characters with quirky moments on a screen for the main plot.

    Gameplay- Despite its "Next-gen of open-world games" it doesn't innovate much with the formula, which isn't an inherently bad thing but it's no doubt disingenuous. Shootings fine, driving can range from decent handles to ice skating blindfolded with one foot but that could just be me.
    That's about it and although the bugs that are game-breaking are annoying (pre 1.5 updates) my playthrough in terms of game-breaking hasn't been consistent to my knowledge. Massive props for the design and audio to aid in the immersion along with the handmade side quests.

    Audio & Soundtrack-Great, no complaints about it at all. The guns sound solid and the unique ones are nice (the malorian arms 3156 comes to mind) and the music is also great.

    Conclusion-Although 1.5 doesn't offer much, it's at the very least mostly sound for those that don't use mods, a sign that the devs are at least hunkering down and trying and fix a game that is barely keeping itself together.
    Its flaws and bugs that due to limited character I can't properly explain are what's holding the game back from being fully realized, all people can hope for (if said hope is still present) is that CDPR can be able to fix the game.
    But only their next game and time will show if they learned anything from all of this and if they're worth your time or just another one of them.    … Expand

    After the 1.5 patch this has become delightful. Engrossing story, marvelous voice acting. Surprising fun gunplay and hacking (caster) mechanics.

    My respect for CDPR just skyrocketed! They just announced that they will no longer be selling any of their games in Russia or Belarus. This move right here, plus the most recent next-gen update, definitely restored a HUGE amount of love I once had for this company.

    I enjoyed the start a lot and was playing through the story and it was fun. I didn’t have a lot of the pre expectations others did, I was expecting it to be quite bad actually.     However a few things. I had some bugs still, mostly where npcs walk through windows and things but I have a nasty sound bug when the game is paused or on menus, it plays some static noise through headphones, it’s horrid. But generally the game moves smoothly and combat is pretty fun. I find the city rather soulless though, and the lore and things just doesn’t work for me, I find myself skipping them, and a lot of the scenery and things just isn’t for me.

    Elden Ring was released and after 30 minutes of playing that game I was hooked and dropped CP2077 very easily and have forgotten where I was even up to. I will likely go back to it, but yeah... good game not a great game. Buy it on sale and don’t expect the world and you’ll probably like it.    … Expand

    Great game with a really great story and different ways to tread it. You want to explore the icy world and always find something new. The side missions are varied and partly funny. The loading times on the PS5 are insane (positively meant). Graphically a highlight and buttery soft thanks to 60fps.

    I can't get my head around this. This game is dead. Get it up to a state where it's not filled with bugs so those who pay for it get a working product and then release Cyberpunk 2078 or something that actually has a story worth playing. Either that a huge expansion story to 2077.

Get it up to a state where it's not filled with bugs so those who pay for it get a working product and then release Cyberpunk 2078 or something that actually has a story worth playing. Either that a huge expansion story to 2077.
    Even if you look past the bugs (Which at the moment there isn't too many obvious ones but some still appear) this game is still basic. The devs have spent so long fixing this mess that they haven't had time to add any real content to the game. After completing the game there is virtually nothing to do. The story isn't all that great anyways. You can't really get attached to any of the characters. I am confused as well cos its like they want you to get attached to the player character but at the same time you never leave the 1st person view? If my character is going to have a long conversation then do it in a cutscene so I feel more engaged as a player. If my character doesn't have much dialog then stick with the 1st person view. Also at times the game will give the choice between 2 decisions. Don't worry about which choice you make as they make no difference at all. I am guessing they wanted to have different choices affect the game but then cos they wanted to rush it out they just made all choices do the same exact thing. There is a couple of side missions in this game. I am guessing they just stuck them in just so when they released the game there was something other than the story. If you see this game for anything less than £20 it mite be worth buying to mess around on. If you are patient it mite be worth playing in a few years when they finally finished developing it. In the mean time CDPR will likely be over promoting this with sales and advertising in order to try and make some of the money back they spent on this so it wont ever be worth paying full price when it will go on sale all the time.
    I wish i could blame publishers for forcing CDPR to meet deadlines and stuff but "oh yh, they publish their own games". There was really no excuse for the mess this game launched as.
    I know games release with bugs these days but this was a complete joke. I am glad that this company is suffering with law suits from share holders and so on because it sets an example that developers can't keep releasing unfinished products and then fixing it with updates. It's not fair that players have to suffer due to a companies greed. Is it really so much to ask that you play test your games and launch them in a full working state. Remember the days when we would get pre release demons that allowed players to test the games for bugs and then give the developers feedback on what to fix?
    These days you only get to see what the developers want you to see. If the game is full of bugs you don't get a refund you just have to hope that its gonna get fixed in an update.
    Take the GTA trilogy as an example. Full of bugs and likely never gonna get fixed. Untested and Unfished products should NOT be allowed to be sold to consumers. If a game contains obvious bugs you should be entitled to a full refund which gets charged back to the publishers.    … Expand

    He esperado a jugar a que saliera el parche de ps5 y, por lo menos esta versión, me ha parecido un juegazo. La ambientación es un pasada, la música tb, los gráficos igual… el único fallo que le veo es que es bastante fácil. Merece la pena haber esperado ya que por lo visto las versiones anteriores fueron un desastre.

    I waited for the next gen update and the game is really good at this point. In my opinion the game is best played with the performance mode where it runs really smooth and looks great.

After dusting of the game and reinstalling it the first few hours showed me a massive improvement with very few problems….until I got 20 to 30 hours into the game. It started with every time I go outside of the city the weather locks into a sandstorm that will remain until I do a mission that forces it to change. At this point I can’t answer my phone and can’t call people, completely killing the ability to move forward through the main story. Objectives in missions disappear, resulting in having to load previous saves. There’s loads of other stuff that can be inconsequential to a minor annoyance but when they’re preventing me from progressing, what’s the point of playing. This game won’t be playable for years if ever at all.… Expand

    After Next Gen update it's a stunning masterpiece! Loved the gameplay, storytelling and characters. Yes, it's still a little big buggy, but in my opinion I enjoined it as a continue excitement of my senses. Loved everything, atmosphere is perfectly immersive as the original '80s RPG.

    The game is amazing. Played for first time with patch 1.5 and its easily 8 or 9 out of 10. I feel bad for CDPR, they put a lot of work into this. Just didn't live up to expectations - but my word, its still an incredible experience. Up there with the best games ever.

    I really want to believe in this game. The city is amazing, the story is well written and the atmosphere is great. But still, after so many updates and the next gen upgrade the game is still close to unplayable. I see much more many bugs on the PS5 version. The only thing that does not happen anymore is the hard crashes. Here are some of the problems I encountered:
    -The AI feels exactly the same.
    -There are still no traffic rules, and cars spawn in the middle of the road randomly.
    -First of all I had a hell of a hard time to get my free ps5 upgrade. I even had to create a new user.
    -T-poses
    -The ability to tag enemies works less than half the times I try.
    -Occasionally I wasn't allowed to save my game even though I was on free roam.
    -Reflections are sometimes so strong and badly placed that I can't read computer screens.
    -The 30fps mode feels slow and laggy. For me it is unplayable.
    -Pedestrians don't seem to be aware of my car and the moment they touch it even if I go at 0.0001km/h they get injured or die and I get wanted by the police.
    -Summoning your vehicle, it spawns at unreachable places or inside graphics and sometimes blow up
    -The prompt to grab enemies from stealth doesn't always show up and I can't grab them.
    -Not being able to fully unclothe your character isn't obviously anything serious but I include it because it makes no sense as a programming choice since you can see your V naked on the menus. Plus I like to play the game as a sim and it drives me crazy to shower with underwear on, even though I can't even see it.
    -Npcs move awkwardly and fly off bounds.
    -V makes random stuff like climbing stairs that aren't there.
    -Enemies go on alert mode because they find bodies that aren't even there.
    -The enemy alert icons stop showing at random (the yellow and red eye icons).
    -The center dot suddenly shows up even thow it is turned off in the settings and won't go away until I restart the game.
    Those are some problems that came to mind right now. And they all happened at a game time of less than 10 hours.
    I decided to resume my fresh save and finish the game because I don't think, after more than a year of waiting that any substantial fixes are coming. I sure hope I am wrong though. Hopefully the nice story will keep me from hating the game but I sure won't love it. And I really wanted to. If you find the game on a good sale, you like a good story and don't mind all the bugs I totally reccomend it.    … Expand

    One of the best atmospheres in gaming history.Beautiful..I havent seen any game breaking issues so far,but it needs some more fixes,and it also needs some addons like car fixing garages,transmog,some more action between npcs on the street etc..Then this game can become legendary.

    This game was made for next gen consoles. Im glad I waited for the next gen release. Game is definitely moving in the right direction. Only 3 hrs in but the environments, aesthetic and art direction are great. The city is gorgeous at night, and the soundtrack really fits the atmosphere

I recently got a PS5 version and I love it. The lore is fantastic, I really enjoy the story, and so far I had no crashes or glitches. Also, the game is now only £20 on PS store.

For now, all I can say is that it’s gone from being a mediocre game to one that’s slightly better than mediocre.     - gameplay is very diverse, with options to utilize shooting, stealth kills and hacking. 9/10
    - the game is very story-driven so the narrative and characters is very important. Arguably this is where Cyberpunk shines the most, but it's very subjective. Personally i loved it.
    - certain elements where the game does not shine is lack of compelling side games, relatively many repetitive side quests, also some people expected a gta-like police chase mechanics which is not here at all.
    - some bugs - at this point it's not a problem.
    Overall, objectively the game deserves 9/10. Naturally some people may not like this kind of game so keep that in mind, but the production value is fantastic.

    Some people like to hate though and i think we see plenty of that in the reviews with scores of "0" or "1" but i believe such biased reviews tell more about the person writing it, than the game itself.    … Expand

    Didn't touch the game as I waited for the 'Next-Gen' update and ... to my dismay discovered that this is not a very good game is it? I mean forget the bugs - I deleted the demo 10 minutes into the first mission. The aiming is possibly the worst I've experienced in a controller - it's actually an achievement. I don't understand guys? Did nobody notice that the game's controls are broken? Or that gameplay itself is bad?

    I suspect the PC may be worlds better in terms of controls, but I doubt it fixes the overall design. I wish it were different, but I'm afraid that Cyberpunk 2077 simply doesn't convince me its worth any more of my time.    … Expand

    Having played Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 before it was patched and what not, I did find it a little difficult to play and ultimately got bored and traded it in. Having had a major face lift and the developers trying to fix alot of the issues - I've decided to give it another go on the PS5 and I am pleasantly surprised with the results! I think the main issue is that the game was hypedHaving played Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 before it was patched and what not, I did find it a little difficult to play and ultimately got bored and traded it in. I think the main issue is that the game was hyped beyond belief and anything short of a 10/10 would of not been good enough for alot of hardcore gamers. If I'm totally honest and this game came out today with fewer issues, it would still struggle to be considered a top title but the studio also had to compete with their own success in the form of The Witcher 3. I'd still encourage anyone to give it another go but I also completely agree with anyone who feels like they've had their fingers burnt. Maybe focusing on the fact the devs have genuinely listened to their fans and tried to implement the biggest changes that were demanded will allow you to play it and actually have fun which is what its all about. Also, any open world game nowadays will get compared to GTA, this is not GTA - Don't expect that and you'll again, have a better chance of enjoying the game.… Expand

Sad to see that metacritic doesn't allow any kind of real criticism as they are constantly removing honest negative reviews and also removing reviews that point out that they are removing reviews. In the end of the day it doesn't really matter how many reviews they remove, because the truth is out there. Game is unfinished and problematic and nobody can hide that fact. ThisAwful game. Anyone saying that Cyberpunk 2077 is better than Assassin's Creed, is either Ubisoft hater or has never even played Assassin's Creed. Cyberbug 2077 is way worse than most AC games and very obviously worse than Watch Dogs, there's even comparison videos on youtube showing how much better and more professional game Watch Dogs isDon't listen these fake reviews who try to praise this bugfest. Not to even mention Far Cry 3 has better villain, than any of the characters in Cyberpunk 2077. Ubisoft might have gone downhill in recent years, but they used to make really solid games between 2012-2017. So yeah, basically ignore anyone who tries to say some nonsense that Ubisoft games are worse than Cyberpunk. Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Watch Dogs 1, Far Cry 3 are all way better and more professional games than Cyberpunk 2077.… Expand

    Off the top of my head I can’t think of another game with a backstory like Cyberpunk 2077. It’s fortunate that CDPR were able to spend the last year-plus continuing development of the game, listening to feedback, adding content, and fixing tons and tons of issues. Many games would simply not have gotten the extra time and money spent that Cyberpunk got, but this time CDPR got it right. Now is the right time to play this game; I’m not saying it’s flawless and perfect, but it’s nearly so, for such an elaborate, massive game. This is the game we were hoping for back in December 2020, but I’m reminded of the adage ‘better late than never.’ And that certainly applies here.

    Despite significant technical and in-play improvements for this PS5 version, much of the game’s core remains unchanged. Quest design and storytelling, though not without their moments on the critical path, too often feel rife with unrealised potential. Cyberpunk 2077’s abrasive personality is still clear as day too, inescapable in its script and blaring out from Night City’s many questionable billboards. If you choose to venture into Night City, we hope you find what you’re looking for. [Issue#12, p.72]

    Despite its mismanaged launch, Cyberpunk is a success story. What began in December 2020 as an incomplete, often-unplayable sore spot for CD Projekt has become one of the most immersive RPGs I’ve ever played – one whose visuals, soundtrack, and narrative can go toe to toe with the strongest in the genre. Despite Cyberpunk’s technical headaches, I’ve enjoyed more than 40 hours in it and don’t see myself losing interest in its rich world or side content anytime soon. Cyberpunk’s botched beginnings warranted the scorn players treated it with, but if patch 1.5 is any indication, Night City’s future looks bright.
