Game is fun until Zack starts talking.

THE PRICE OF RICK GOMEZ IS STEEP.

Another nostalgia bait from Square Enix, with somewhat better graphics and atmosphere-breaking remixed soundtracks, not to mention the worst re-recording ever, especially on Zack the new va totally deprived the charm of character
They seriously need to stop milking FF7 besides there are much more possibilities in enhancing other numbering ones

All in all, it's a good, solid 7, BUT: The price point is -for what it actually is, a good looking remaster- a little too steep. If this was a $39,99 title, it'd be a 7.5. Expand

I don't understand how this game can have such high rating. It's by far one of the worst FF games I've played.

    1. The gameplay is extremely dated. Unless you played the original and want to play this for nostalgia, stay away. 2. The missions is a joke. Most bland and repetitive thing I've seen in a game. 3. The writing is laughably bad. 4. Story is mainly a back-story of Zack,

    3. The writing is laughably bad.

    4. Story is mainly a back-story of Zack, Angeal and Genesis and is mostly forgetable. It would be more suited for a DLC than an entire game.

    5. The game can easily be completed in 10 hours making it basically the shortest FF game out there.

This game is definitely not worth $60. If you played the original you might find some nostalgia here, but otherwise do yourself a favour and spend your money on something else.

    Activating combat mode
    Conflict resolved
    Cutscene

Over and over and over again, graphics are worse than remake the game constantly interrupts the flow of your gameplay with cutscenes. Mission areas are empty lifeless. The game feels as if it is a phone game.

While the story and gameplay are enjoyable, the missions jump from easy difficulty to a scheme that completely foregoes skill, level, equipment, and reaction time in favor of intense repetition until pure luck prevails. Rinse and repeat said missions for 50% of endgame content. Would not recommend this game if you expect more than 10 hours of good content for your $50.

For Completionists: Lots of grind, lots of missables and lots of rng stuff. Overall a very easy but tedious platinum to get. If you don't like wasting your time, I'd suggest to pass on this one.

The part where it fell down for me was the story. It's great when it's something from FF7 but that makes up about 5% of the story. Mostly it centers around new characters and some of the dialogue... oh boy... it's bad.. it's real bad. The story just kind of sucks.

If you haven't played FF7 i'd stay well clear because this is not a good way to experience Cloud's backstory. Wait for remake part 2 or play the original ff7!

played the original and if you are a final fantasy fan this might be worth playing. As a full price game it's a bit much to ask. $20 seems about right. The improvements are nice and the 15 hours worth of story are decent. The side missions will keep you going for much longer.

It looks good but it's still a portable game. The story it tells is meh, it didn't feel like it was necessary to add anything to Final Fantasy 7 and didn't add enough to make it worthwhile to play. If you need something to scratch that nostalgia itch, give it a shot. Otherwise, it can fairly safely be missed by all but the biggest fans of the original FF7.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a remastered version of the one released on the PSP, with HD quality and a beautiful screen, but the character motions are still the same, so you can't deny that it looks old-fashioned. The difficulty level is low and the required actions are simple, so the game develops quickly. Personally, I enjoy it so much that once I start playing, I tend to play for a long time. I get heartburn from playing AAA games all the time, so I need to rest my stomach with a slow food game once in a while. Expand

One of the best remasters ever produced, this is a remake. Each boss, each opponent, each level, and each character have a brand-new model. The resolution, performance, and MAYBE some textures are typically the only things updated in many remasters. But you could just as well call this one a remake.

As a prequel to one of gaming’s most beloved classics, Crisis Core did a great job of enriching the original game’s world as an action RPG on the PSP. This remaster not only enhances the visuals but also improves on many of the original’s shortcomings. While there still are some inconveniences, altogether Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is an exhilarating experience from start to finish.
