Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is a truly beautiful production, far more so than one boasting a cast of animalistic amalgamates and sentient polyps ought to be.

A wild adventure: brawls, dice games and an exciting story make Clash: Artifacts of Chaos an indie must-have.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos unlocks a universe in which there is a lot to discover - be it the ever-changing monster variants or the bizarrely beautiful landscapes. The cel-shaded look of the game is a feast for the eyes, the soundtrack skillfully emphasizes the sometimes threatening, sometimes almost idyllic atmosphere. However, iIt takes a bit of getting used to the fact that the world can't be explored completely freely, but rather guides us through circled areas.

Despite awkward exploration, it is wonderful to play something as wilfully odd as this. If you’re craving something different, don’t miss this return trip to Zenozoik. [Issue#27, p.83]

If you're looking for an action RPG with a sophisticated martial arts slant that unfolds in a fantastical alien world with a driving central narrative that invests you in the key protagonists with ease, then Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is absolutely deserving of your attention.

With a gorgeous art style, challenging but deeply rewarding combat, an interesting story and an approachable take on the soulslike formula, Clash: Artefacts of Chaos is a welcome new form for the Zeno Clash series. It has a few rough edges that will hopefully get fixed with a patch, but despite them, this is an easy recommendation for fans of Dark Souls or Zeno Clash alike.

Clash: Artifacts Of Chaos is a game that shows another side of the Clash series created by ACE Team. Instead of being in first person, it shows a behind-the-shoulder camera switch with various fighting styles to master. The game needs to polish the game mechanics because it is usually very repetitive. Artistically it's a beautiful game. Recommended for those who want something different.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos manages to bring fresh air in the face of the countless attempts at innovations within the fever of soulslikes. Its visual identity, atmosphere and narrative gain a prominence that can envy competitors. Unfortunately, the lack of politeness and technical issues end up detracting from the experience.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos fails to combine its interesting new ideas with contemporary design choices. Which is a shame given how unique the game looks.

Both by critics and console gamers, apparently. On Steam, the game seems to be doing well, with currently 94 percent positive user reviews - which is well deserved. I feel bad for Ace Team, as they really outdid themselves this time! What a game!

I'm not going to say much about it. There's plenty of information available elsewhere. Just think of it as Zeno Clash + Dark Souls + a dice game that can impose special rules on the action gameplay. Notably, the combat is actually very good, but it seems several reviewers don't understand it. Maybe they skipped the tutorial or maybe they just wanted to get the game over with so they could move on to the next AAA rollercoaster. I feel like this is exactly the sort of wildly creative game critics should be championing, but instead they shoot it down over petty quality of life concerns and a lack of understanding of how to play the game. I can't think of many games that are this wildly creative and interesting to explore. YMMV, I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Clash is a strange game, with much to be explained, but it makes sense if you pay attention and just let the game do its thing. To me, this is the most impressive game I've played in 2023 so far, hands down.

The most fun I have had anyway. I don’t understand the critic reviews saying it’s hard. It’s really not. I died a few times at first jumping off ledges and then once or twice to each main boss. That’s really it. It’s not like dark souls in a lot of ways. The enemies don’t respawn when you fill your health. They may come back eventually sometimes, but it was so minor I didn’t keep track. The combat is not soulslike imo. I guess it is melee combat, but I almost never used the weapons. There are a ton of choices for your fists, and they are the most fun. The upgrade system is a little weird and if you want to rush and not search for every item then I guess you could fall behind the curve. Anyway, the world is awesome, the characters are awesome and the combat is pretty darn good. The main point is that I had fun. It wasn’t realistic, it wasn’t polished perfectly, it was weird and fun. I would recommend it to everyone that wants to enjoy their time playing a video game. Full Review »

The comfort system is fun and you can learn so much most of the time. so much fun fighting the enemies, so I didn't care it, took me 11 hours because I try to find everything.

The stories we had an interesting feels like something from another plane of existing, but what is grounding it is the story of a man trying to protect the boy which is always one of those things to do enjoy to play.

If you want anyway, I interested in the art style then you should play it.
