    Children of Silentown doesn’t have the best pacing for a point-n-click game, but it does have an enthralling world filled with interesting characters that help push you through its foibles. Using folklore and the perspective of children to amplify its horror credentials allows it to stand out.

    Tells an intriguing story; Fun, straightforward gameplay mechanics; Puzzles are mostly solid; Excellent art style.
    Bad- Exploration    Good-

    Bad-
    Exploration can be a bit repetitive at times; Cog puzzles tend to be frustrating; No hint system.

    Thoughts-
    When all is said and done, Children of Silentown isn’t going to blow you away by any means, but I’d still say it’s worth your time. I’ve used the words “simplistic” and “straightforward” a few times in this review, and though those characteristics do mean that the gameplay experience here isn’t quite as engrossing as this genre has been known to be capable of over the years, Children of Silentown also uses that simplistic nature to deliver an experience that’s consistently focused and fun. In the end, enjoyable puzzles, charming characters, excellent art design, and an intriguing story come together in this game to make for a solid package.    … Full Review »
