Chernobylite's graphical detail is one of the greatest aspects behind it. Additionally, the game's nail-biting story, the memorable characters, and the freedom to explore the areas of the Exclusion Zone provide a great sense of dread and loneliness that's both fun to play and make for an excellent Action RPG with team management mechanics.

The Farm 51 signs an unique approach to survival games, mixing the formula with elements from the RPG or management genre, and it does it right. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are superior, but retain some of the flaws from the previous ones (lacklustre IA, visual glitches...). If those are polished, it could be a greater experience.

By forcing several different ideas together and making them work, Chernobylite stands out for all the right reasons. Few players will have the same experience throughout. [Issue#15, p.83]

This brings all the positive and all the negative things of the original, but it plays better than before on console and will continue to get free content in the next few months.

Chernobylite isn’t a perfect game. Aside from the continuity issues and the horror that falls flat, there were a couple of game crashes too. However, the game has plenty more positives, including impressive decision-making, the amount of freedom with base building, and simple but satisfying team management. Chernobylite is well worth dipping into for a few hours as long as you remember the game is not meant to be a AAA experience.

Despite some gripes, Chernobylite brings players an excellent sci-fi horror experience with great ambiance, quirky characters, and survival mechanics that are challenging and satisfying.

It’s not without its problems, then, but Chernobylite offers an intoxicating blend of horror, survival, base-building and FPS action. Repetition could be an issue for some, and shying away from playing with the poorly-acted English dialogue is highly recommended. Once you’ve settled in to your quest to find out what happened to your long-lost love, however, it’s hard to not feel the urge to do one more mission before turning it off, ever in the hope of finding valuable resources or a crumb of information.

It is not a Stalker! It isn't seamless open world but it does have many decently sized maps. It's very similar to Escape From Tarkov. You chose a location to explore and you appear there with the ability to extract when you're done.
I really like the grat atmosphere and the Russian voice acting. It's really immersive and blends well with the survival elements.

    Brilliant indie experience.

I can't remember the last time I played a new IP that had me absolutely, positively hooked from start to finish.
    Brilliant indie experience.

I can't remember the last time I played a new IP that had me absolutely, positively hooked from start to finish.

The plot is fantastic. I've always been interested in the Chernobyl disaster and the history behind it, but this game takes it to a whole new level with it's science-fiction elements and cosmic horror. Wonderful blend of a character study into Igor and each of his companions and an unlikely heist thriller. Not Shakespeare, but definitely worth the price of admission.

The gameplay is misunderstood. Igor is not a badass super soldier trekking into the Exclusion Zone in search of riches and glory. He's a scientist doing what he can to survive. Handy with a gun when it matters, but it's all about crafting, setting traps, using your environment to circumvent conflict rather than charge into it head-on. The base-buileing is a chore in the early hours, but once you sink some time into it, it's smooth sailing.

The setting is brilliant. Most of the store pages state that the game uses a "hyper-realistic, 3D scan" of Pripyat and the Exclusion Zone, and I believe it. Part of the terror is walking through the forgotten, lost-to-time hallways and rooms of buildings long since abandoned, frozen since their inhabitants left it long ago. Truly brilliant world-building, which adds to the horror brought on by the otherworldly encounters you'll come up against.

All in all, Chernobylite is an indie experience presented and portrayed as an honest-to-God AAA game. Every piece of it, from the plot down to the very fine details of each environment, each character, and each facet of gameplay have had so much thought and effort put into them, it's astounding to think of what a small team of developers are capable of in this age of gaming. It's an experience like no other, and I highly recommend you get your hands on this title as soon as possible.

The scavenging is fun, but it is annoying when your can't destroy the windows it just feels weird.

This game is a bit buggy the receiver time where I load my save and the enemies. I had killed were alive again and shooting me which was not fun.

The way you doing the perks trainers telling you a little training mission is really creative and fun.

The gameplay in solid and because you are so low on ammunition it feels tend to fight the enemies because they have enough health to really hard to kill.

Gameplay begins to because hypnotising just going into a map finding the objective sneaking behind enemy troops I just ended up play the game in 2 sitting.

What's the best mechanics are the room that you can change your choices in the green room and you can change the consequences?

The environments are beautiful in the went to the Chernobyl site to take pictures and you can see it.

The story is in Tooting and her some weird turns ,I enjoyed the game so much that I got a platinum trophy.

The game is prettyI wanted to like this game it was a great idea and I was under the impression that it would be similar to metro or stalker. The game is pretty short even if you do the side missions. Replayability is almost zero because all the missions are pretty bland and repetitive. I recommend playing the game on a hard difficulty to make things more interesting.. stealth is pretty good in this game but on easy you can pretty much go directly to objectives soaking up bullets. One big upside to this game is that it's extremely easy to platinum if you're into platinum trophy hunting.. that is if your save doesn't glitch out back to day 0.. which happened to me once when I tried to change a memory.. don't do that fair warning .. there are also plenty of other glitches I've ran into.. falling through the map.. crashes.. freezes.. objectives not working or loading..etc If it weren't for the glitches I'd give this game a 6.5 Expand

Dreadful, boring combat, underwhelming, sloppy gunplay, few maps that quickly get tired, redundant and unexciting supply runs become a necessary routine...and cherry on top you can break the mid-game by losing all your teammates at once (for whatever reason, RNG plays a big part in this), rendering it unplayable (no more story advancing missions) unless you start all over again. Doesn't come even slightly close to STALKER. Uninstalled after less than 20 hours in. Expand
