    I'm not sure how, but it feels even worse than last year's call of duty cold war. To be honest I feel disgusted by the fact that I bought this, and I regret it 100%, and since this is Sony, I already know I'm not getting my money back regardless of how little I played. Last year's installment atleast had really fun zombies, this COD has nothing.

First night playing , and at 10:30pm EST we all get booted because they decided to update the servers mid game. On top of it this game looks and feels un-finished and should have been delayed !! Operator's are all junk compared to previous game. On top of it they added operator level up.. should have just left it with challenges !!! Where's OUTBREAK and BASE ROUND Map ???!!! 7500$ for first pack a punch ??!! No wall weapon's, can't update weapon rarety , no wonder weapon's, yet but I see no potential for the zombie mode. Get rid of the covenant junk. Only 3 missions in zombie's ?! Only 3 different kind of zombies.. ohh man I've never wanted a refund soo bad after purchasing a COD game. Biggest disappointment in history for me. I'll just keep playing Cold War zombies.… Expand

    Never again sledgehammer, end the cycle of rushing new version every year and move onto subscription service with updates. Game in theory is amazing but nothing works as intended.

    if you do get a game the spawn points make it not worth playing.

    This game was overhyped. The story is short with not too much action. Zombie is identical to cold war and the for the multiplayer I prefer warzone. Buy it only if you want to spend money, hoping that the next cod will be better

    The game has a bunch of bugs and it’s basically unplayable, the progression has issues suck as weapon camos. There are issues everywhere in this game but knowing Activision always rushing it’s games it was already expected.

    the maps are stupid and bad balance of the weapons the PC version have some graphics issue only in Multiplayer

    It’s a 60 or 70 dollars game with F2P meta rules. Weapons grind are too long. Clearly it made only for slowdown your progression so you spend your free time only in one game and ofc to sell you weapon modules with skins in store

    Story : 3/10 , so short and the problem is 90 % of the game were flash back . my friend got killed nah let me told you the past of this guys. we cant trust him , nahh let me tell you the story why we can trust him and so on by the time all flash back finished we reach the ending of the game LMAO Graphic 7/10 , lookgood on outside but if you look closely    TLDR : Flashback simulator

    Vanguard campaign is the worst amongst COD campaigns. It lacks any variety and does not get player invented in any way. Storyline sucks. Characters are trash. There is so many problems with this game that I had to push myself to complete even 1 or 2 campaign levels.

    Multiplayer feels alright, kinda... Spawns are broken. Guns are imbalanced as always. Players are camping everywhere. Most    Vanguard campaign is the worst amongst COD campaigns.     Zombies are gone. Cold War at least tried to make something new and unique, but Vanguard ruined everything. It stops being fun around 6-7 rounds. Oh, I must correct myself: 6-7 repeated tasks that absolutely suck. No more round-based gameplay. It seems as developers tried really hard to make players not hooked up to the game at all!     Campaign is not that bad, only one iconic character with an interesting story, Polina.
    Multiplayer maps are pretty good, much better than MW, but not even close to Cold War's. Camo challenges are really painful and take too much time.

    Zombies mode has never been worse than this. No round-based map, no wonder weapons, no easter eggs, no intel, no pack-a-punch camo. Pretty poor.

    Same garbage, "different" cod.... except its a reskin of the first cod but with updated speed from infinite/advanced warfare. save your money, dont buy and if you "really" need it, waitr for the half off sale in a month so you atleast save money for the 1 time you play it before uninstalling.

    This game by no means is great. It's ok at best and definitely the worst of the three. The story mode, so far, isn't half bad. The characters are compelling enough to keep playing through even though it seems PC at times. It's nothing fantastic and pleases through narrative but who plays COD for the story mode. Most of the levels are ok at best. The weapons are nothing to be excited about. Some are way overpowered and need to be nerfed. The killstreaks can be a pain. The worst part of all is dealing with constant hackers and cheaters. Almost every other match you're bombarded against a team who can easily shoot through walls and kill everyone while you're cornered at your spawn point. There needs to be better presence in banning these individuals. Hopefully when they launch their new cheating system, it will help out. Another annoyance is the long after game summary and voting system. It takes up too much time and seems unnecessary plus you can not back out during it. Overall the game is ok. Nothing spectacular. There is still plenty to be fixed and hopefully improved on if they want to keep people playing.… Expand

    I downloaded it on Christmas Day. I didn't start to play it until this week. I was shocked how poor the graphics were on the xbox one. It literally looks like a 360 game. It plays like it also. The plane handling is garbage. How could a AAA game get it that wrong? The campaign plays like Battlefield 1. (groups of small stories). Been buying them every year but this one left such a horrible aftertaste in my mouth than I'm just gonna skip the next couple of them unless they fire the people who made and wrote this garbage.

    For goodness sake, what is it with these videogame developers being so obsessed with making a bunch of military games set in World War II and even the first World War? Enough already. Most people that will buy this game don't even know the Big Three Allies and its leaders of World War II, let alone when the war took place. This just goes to show how out of touch these developers are with their audience. People who love books would be interested in World War, not gamers. If they are going to make another World War game, then at least be historically accurate. They couldn't even get that right, which begs the question why couldn't they just make the game about a fictional war in modern setting? And just like any other modern big budget videogame studio, the developers added woke SJW trash in the game.

    The multiplayer is beyond horrible. The maps are so poorly designed. The spawn points are pathetic. The zombies mode is easily the worst zombie mode I have ever played in a Call of Duty game. The mode is objective-based rather than round-based. It lacks challenge compared to previous installments. You can't even pause in zombies mode when you are playing solo. The physics are poor and the AI is incredibly stupid. I don't recommend this game at all.    … Expand

    -the sound is not fixed - they lied. There are times where my sound glitches so much it’s not even funny. It’s not even just about footsteps that you can’t hear (yeah, you still can’t hear them) -you always hear random weapon firing in the background that has nothing to do with what’s going on, it’s quite hard to focus on real game sounds -the    -controls are clunky

    -the sound is not fixed - they lied. There are times where my sound glitches so much it’s not even funny. It’s not even just about footsteps that you can’t hear (yeah, you still can’t hear them)
    -you always hear random weapon firing in the background that has nothing to do with what’s going on, it’s quite hard to focus on real game sounds
    -the scorestreak system is bad. Players of lesser skill won’t ever be able to contribute with scorestreaks. I’ve had games where I was literally the only one landing enough shots in a row to get a scorestreak, because if you die, you lose whatever kills you had accumulated towards it. Cold War’s was way better
    -horrible map designs. Some maps are way too big and some way too small for the different pacings. It should be limited to whichever pacing it was designed for. 6v6 on Red Star is just plan horrible. The designs of Das House or just plain bad. Just to give a few examples.
    -TTK is way too fast.
    -I personally don’t care about SBMM so I’ll leave that out of my review
    -some challenges for camos are just dumb - point blank range for snipers?!?
    -everyone gets the same operators, even your enemies, so that gets confusing really fast.
    -unlocking operators is tedious and boring.

    Zombies= Like one dev did the whole trash can a map, he said Ill put some candles and some MP maps and few ojectives, and bam a good zombie map. This draws the line. I will just now watch strems for new cod, cause this is ridiculous.

    Do not buy this game, the Zombies is TRASH, the multiplayer feels rushed and not finished. The only good thing about this game is the story, but it's not worth the money. Save yourself some cash and get Halo infinite this year!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I dont know what has been happening with games recently but they all seem to have the same theme of shoehorning modernday politics into them.
    A game set in the 1940s and the main character is calling the nazis racist... in a time when the WHOLE WORLD WAS RACIST!!! Yeh it was bad but it was considered normal back in those days. Anyways one of the missions you play as Arthur Kingsley ( the black guy on the front cover) and you land behind enemy lines with a bunch of other British paratroopers ...who then instantly all decide to make Arthur squad leader...WHICH WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED!!! so straight away the immersion of it being a ww2 game has already been broken. Yes it was bad how black people were treat back then but it happened and people need to stop trying to cover it up.
    This stage is just one of many which all follow similar patterns

    Next you have the dirty muddy graphics which also shows up blurry most of the time. Yeah I can see they were trying to give the game atmosphere of WW2 but making your graphics ugly doesn't make it gritty like how World at war was . The first mission is the worst as you cant even see much because of how blended and mushed together the graphics are combined with the weather effects .

    Next is the online, theres alot wrong with it but I will call out the obvious
    Theres only 1 team and it's the allies, you cant play as the bad guys like you could in every other call of duty because they were too scared to add the Nazi faction into it so yet again the immersion has been broken, especially when the people you are killing are playing as the same character as you. Owh and they added in a lesbian operator ...in the 1940s, she would of been lynched by her own team....also it's the only character where it mentions her sexuality which is weird. This entire game seems to be someone's fan fiction

    Other than those issues the gunplay is fun and the gun sound effects are amazing, map level design is ok but there's the obvious problem of spawning on the enemy team. I have nothing else good to say about it    … Expand

    Not a bad game overall. But the story mode is short and really not worth playing through more than once. Zombies is at its worst here, literally no fun to be had with this mode. And while multiplayer has gotten better gameplay and machanic wise, overpowered guns, lag, bad hit detection and poor map design makes it ulmost unplayable. Wait for a steep sale on this one.

    Finally after so many low ratings I can give a solid 9 to a game (which turns into a 10 as here it's only zeroes and tens).
    Graphics, animations, facial expressions, story, gunfight honestly I liked all of it. Very very enjoyable the game, pretty much the only one that feels next-gen so far. Highly recommended to anyone that liked Modern Warfare series.

Polina had a good story, but the overall mission was quite predictable and her father dying wasn’t really much of a surprise to me. However the rest of the campaign is terrible, story wise. Arthur is in my opinion, a shallow character and the stereotypical leader. Worse is the scripted events and cutscenes. I felt like I was watching the game instead of playing it, and sometimes scripted events occurred (the instant when polina shot the German flamethrower dude in the back and set him ablaze, and the grenade thing in the last mission). Overall, the story is filled with cliches, and by the end I was happy it was over. Multilayer is WORSE than the campaign. The time to kill is essentially the equivalent to COD ghosts time to kill, and the maps just make you act like a chicken with your head cut off, just searching for kills. Worse, killstreaks like the dog suck, insta killing the player, and you never know when the dog come because it sometimes comes right behind you. Gun play is okay, but the progression actual sucks. the team MVP is terrible, and it’s clear the devs simply recycled animations because they were too lazy. Don’t even get me started on zombies. Treyarch was put in charge of creating the mode, and they screwed it up big time. Reminding you this was the same studio that created the mode and what I is, and they screwed up. I can’t believe how bad it is. For anyone wishing to pick this game up, do not. It is essentially an insult to the gamer community, and a cash grab. The game is overpriced and worthless. The graphics are in my opinion a step up overall, and the cinematics blend very well into actual gameplay, and missions such as Operation Tonga and Midway stand out graphically. The guns are also good, partially. The recoil, sounds, muzzle smoke, and bullet impact feel realistic and well executed,Let me start by listing the good, which is the graphics, some guns, and part of the campaign. The guns are also good, partially. The recoil, sounds, muzzle smoke, and bullet impact feel realistic and well executed, but you'd think in a WWII game there'd be some variety, and often times there isn't. The only good parts of the campaign imo were Tonga and Midway. Jumping into Normandy on D-Day and sinking Japanese carriers at Midway is hard to screw up, which is why I thought they were the only good parts of the campaign.

    Now for the bad, which is 95% of this game. Zombies is horrible, boring to play, and doesn't feel like the zombies true cod fans want. Yet again, another pointless Nazi zombie story people don't care about or play for, zombie health bars, too much UI, truly awful map with 3 portals to 3 terrible locations (not even full blown maps, just small areas) are just some of the problems with zombies. Activision has lost all passion and care for zombies it's not even funny. At this point I'd take remastered maps that are actually fun such as Transit or buried. Overall terrible, half-assed mode that I'm shocked was cleared to be released.

    Multiplayer is nothing new, still bad with more problems than I'll list. Skill based matchmaking is back, we all hate that, as well as the same generic game modes. No war mode or headquarters like in COD WWII, which say what you will about that game, people loved war mode and headquarters, something Activision would've done themselves a favor by adding in (wasn't added due to laziness and lack of passion or care for fanbase). Also why are there no official teams?? The team names are "My Team" and "Enemy Team", like are you serious?? The lack of care, passion, and if you believe it to be true wokeness in this game is unreal. You can't say Nazis vs British or Imperial Japanese vs Americans anymore? This also makes for boring play as you can literally run around and shoot your own operator, and barely tell who's who. COD multiplayer is at its lowest point no question, and it's clear as day. Maybe if they spent more time listening to fans instead of making as many female operators as they can, even including a gay one (Constanze) we'd get a somewhat enjoyable WWII arcadey game.

    Finally the campaign, which is only 9 missions is stupidly short with a horrible story. The Nazis yet again are planning something big and have secret files we must find. In this bland storyline we never get any real information about project Phoenix other than it will lead to the fourth reich, and there's only two missions where we actually are on the hunt for the nazis in charge of the project. Arthur Kingsley's missions are enjoyable at first but quickly turn into repetitive, uninteresting gunplay we've seen before, but better executed in previous WWII games. Wade Jackson's missions are the best with Midway and that's it. Flying, dogfighting, and divebombing is fun but the mission is over in 10 minutes. Polina's missions are also things we've seen before but way better in previous games, most notably World at War. Her final mission is also abysmal, with a boss fight against a regular human yet we manage to stab him 5 times and he's still kicking. The characters themselves I feel nothing for, I don't care when a side character dies, it's just awful and disappointing especially when COD, despite how bad some campaigns are, usually succeed at creating lovable characters. Lucas Riggs missions are the same deal. Also I never knew the Japanese used MG42s and that Stg44s were issued before 1944. The guns are all over the place, and there's a lack of guns as well. The developers really didn't care about this campaign at all. During the pacific mission I never once came across an M1 Garand, Thompson, M1 Carbine, nothing. The only weapons I used the entire time were stg44s, mp40s, the basic sniper, and a kar98. The campaign is just bad and what happens when all passion is lost and when you focus on diversity/inclusion over a good story. Very disappointing even when my expectations were low.

    I don't recommend anyone buying this game and supporting a company that has lost its heart and soul. For all the people who enjoy the game I respect that, but good reviews giving out 10s left and right because its "better" than last years cod, which was awful, and has good graphics doesn't warrant a 10 rating. Also every positive review I've seen revolves around the game being better than battlefield (which I don't care about) with no details whatsoever about why they believe this call of duty deserves a 10. Many recent cods have been horrible, and vanguard is no doubt in the lower tier of this COD depression. Polina is the Mary Sue feminist strong woman character, then we have the bizarre option of a black British soldier who is apparently from a well off wealthy family who is incredibly intelligent (during that time, definitely not accurate) and we have a rogue German soldier along with a Yank and someone else... An odd cast of misfits who never are we truly interested in anyway. This is what happens when you let gaming journalists sway your decision making with games.

    Zombies is just bare, for as little content it provides it deserves as little content written about it. Abysmal.

I'm a huge zombies fan since WaW and this zombies mode broke my heart. I honestly can say I teared up on how they ruined the zombies mode. They had so much potential with it and they just threw it out the window. What a shame.

    The Multiplayer... same old same old... some good modes to be had sure, but its just more of the same, more grinding, more leveling etc. I dont appreciate that the weapons now have up to 10 attachment slots - this seems far too many. The post game "vote on the mvp" section is extremely irritating and needs to be removed, the multiplayer characters are totally lame.
    Zombies - seems rushed and simplified.

    As a student of history, particularly the World Wars, im pretty saddened and sickened by this game's
    handling, never seen so much agenda driven nonsense in a video game. Clearly the demographic isnt someone whos been playing COD for 15+ years with a passion for historical conflicts.

For a ww2 game this is an insanely awful take on it. Nothing is accurate.

    The zombies is such a large bruh moment that you'll pass out from dissapointment trying to play even 10 minutes of it.

    Overall there is absolutely nothing about this game that drives me to boot this up instead of any other game. I feel like I'm an adult playing a game made for kids when I boot this up, I feel embarressed just playing it. I got a refund and for some reason I can still play it, but I don't because it's just that generic, boring and just straight up bad. I could dive way deeper into the flaws in gameplay design etc but for real. If you're thinking about buying this, for the love of pp don't do it alone.    … Expand

    We come to the multi-player. Absolute garbage and with a downward trend. If this is not revised and the game continues to be offered overpriced, the rip-off principle flies around the ears.

    Call of Duty: Vanguard is a great Call of Duty entry with absolutely stellar ser pieces, fantastic visuals, and plenty of modes surrounding an excellently fun campaign. The only downsides are the muddied stories… not to mention what is happening in the company that published it. Highly recommended for CoD fans and people looking for a bit of mindless fun set in WW2.

    Even though the campaign is extremely predictable and the multiplayer is plagued with tones of issues, Call Of Duty: Vanguard is, after all, still a Call of Duty title, and will appeal to all hardcore Call of Duty fans.
