    This game is hella bad... Old engine, scorestreaks are all **** up beyond belief, it looks horrid. The servers are really bad and hitreg doesn't work half the time. Gave it a few months to pick it back up and see if they fixed anything, only to find they broke more. The game is poop.

    Campaign Only Review.
    I generally don't play multiplayer and haven't tried the zombies mode yet so this review is only for the Campaign.
    Pro's: Campaign Time: I don't have time to play hours and hours of games. This campaign is short and ideal to play over the weekend as you can complete it in around 5-6 hours. Level Design: The level design is a big plus for this game. The levels    Campaign Only Review.
    I generally don't play multiplayer and haven't tried the zombies mode yet so this review is only for the Campaign.

    Pro's:
    Campaign Time: I don't have time to play hours and hours of games. This campaign is short and ideal to play over the weekend as you can complete it in around 5-6 hours.

    Level Design: The level design is a big plus for this game. The levels in Vietnam, Berlin for example are rich in detail and well crafted. The level in Vietnam was the highlight of the campaign.

    Music: This is a big plus to the campaign. I loved the music and I can definitely see a lot of effort that went into creating it.

    Story: Story was immersive though it's not the biggest reason why someone would pickup this game.

    PS5: The adaptive triggers and the haptic feedbacks elevate the gameplay experience.

    Texture quality: Probably, one of the overlooked aspect of this game is the texture quality. Apart from Demon's souls, I haven't seen a single game which had high texture quality like COD. I would rate Demon's souls and COD on the top over other games for how good the texture quality is. The details on the ground, on the leaves don't feel like a cheap gimmick but rather filled with details.

    Note:
    I have not played many COD games so I am not able to compare it with the other games. Irrespective of how other COD games were, the story, the level design, music, gameplay is pretty good and I think the campaign deserves a good rating.

    Another Note: I had my set of problems with the game's ridiculous ways of downloading the campaign. I had to search in Youtube because it wasn't obvious. Moreover, 200 gb is crazy. However, I am rating the game solely based on the campaign and the gameplay for the campaign and I think they executed the campaign well.

    Also, it's not worth 70$. Buy it on a sale if you are planning to play it for campaign solely. 9 because it is expensive and the campaign download was just plain stupid.    … Expand

Die Kampagne habe ich nur bis zur Hälfte gespielt, da auch nur eine Mission gut war, die man aber auch schon in der großen Ps5-Präsentation von Sony gesehen hat. Der Rest war nach der üblichen Call of Duty-Formel. In der einen Mission kommen ganz viele Gegner, in der nächsten eine Schleicheinlage und dannEines der schlechtesten Spiele die ich je gespielt habe. Ich rate jedem vom Kauf ab. Die Kampagne habe ich nur bis zur Hälfte gespielt, da auch nur eine Mission gut war, die man aber auch schon in der großen Ps5-Präsentation von Sony gesehen hat. Der Rest war nach der üblichen Call of Duty-Formel. In der einen Mission kommen ganz viele Gegner, in der nächsten eine Schleicheinlage und dann noch eine Snipermission und so weiter. Der Multiplayer ist der absolute Horror. Neben skillbased Matchmaking, hat man auch noch in fast jeder Runde 2 Camper, die einen mit Sniper oder Waffen mit Thermalvisier in den Wahnsinn treiben. Nachdem ich mich entschieden habe den Multiplayer nicht mehr zu spielen, habe ich nur noch den Zombiemodus gespielt, wegen dem ich das Spiel auch gekauft habe. Leider ist dieser auch eine absolute Katastrophe. Spielt man mit zufälligen Leuten, hat man in der Regel eine Person die afk ist, da Activision das super System erfunden hat, dass man Upgradekristalle bekommt, wenn man hohe Runden erreicht, deswegen lassen alle ihre Konsole einfach in der Spielersuche laufen. Dazu kommt, dass der Zombiemodus nicht mehr so ist wie er es in den ersten Black Ops-Teilen war. Das schlimmste aber ist, dass bei mir jeden Tag neue Bugs aufgetreten sind. Cyberpunk war nichts dagegen. Und während sich CD Project Red dafür entschuldigt hat und stark daran gearbeitet hat die Bugs zu fixen, werden sie hier einfach totgeschwiegen. Bugs die von Anfang an verfügbar waren, sind ein halbes Jahr später immer noch nicht gepatched, denn Activision interessiert sich nicht für die Zufriedenheit der Spieler sondern nur für ihre Gewinne. Ich habe auch gehört, dass sie Sachen bei denen sie Geld verlieren, weil man einen Skin oder ähnliches durch einen Bug gratis bekommen kann sofort patchen. Als Fazit kann ich sagen, dass ich den Kauf extrem bereue und ich jeden von diesem Spiel abraten würde. Das letzte Call of Duty das ich gekauft habe.… Expand

    Ok no introduction, this game is just bad, and isn't worth the asking price, i'd even say its not worth buying for a sale.

    The Good: -The Campaign is pretty solid, I liked it however it does have its own flaws, but overall i enjoyed the campaign. -I did enjoy playing zombies, it's pretty interesting and it had a nice throwback in one of the maps. -Prop hunt is back, for what its    Ok no introduction, this game is just bad, and isn't worth the asking price, i'd even say its not worth buying for a sale.

    The Bad:
    -Skill based matchmaking ruins this game. Games go from fun enjoyable times to boring slogs or complete sweaty matches where you have to try really hard. It flip flops constantly and can leave a person feeling mixed, or just tired of playing really quickly.

    -The Multiplayer maps are mostly all bad. Raid, Express, and Nuketown are fine, but every other map is either too big, confusing, or gives me eye strain. The maps when looking at them from a distance mesh weirdly, and as a result you'll have issues finding people which will eventually lead to you being shot by someone you couldn't see(this happens a lot).

    -It takes a long time to find zombie games, and even when you do they usually don't last long whether its because of a ragequit, people not working together, or the next issue im bringing up:

    -Connection issues. Yep this game still has them. I've been disconnected from games multiple times, even a SOLO GAME. My internet is working perfectly fine, so its confusing that call of duty after many years of release still fails to improve upon its connect, and suffer from host migrations as well.

    -The game asks for a lot in many different areas. It's 190 gb big, which is absurd even by triple A standards, its 10 dollars more than the industry standard(70 dollars), and it asks you to buy a battle bass to get tier rewards. Everything feels incredibly grindy and it just isn't fun.

    The Ugly:
    -The game runs incredibly choppy at times, even on a PS5(Which is supposed to be the big next gen console), prepare for random frame drops, they'll show up eventually.

    -CoD Points.

    -Prop Hunt is worse now, it seems more heavily favored for the hunters, as the movement as a prop can be sluggish.

    -While zombies is fine, it still feels relatively weak and not as charming or as fun or adrenaline pumping as previous zombie modes, but it is better than CoD WW2's zombies, 100%.

    -Familiar characters such as Woods and Mason in the campaign have different voice actors that don't really sell it for me, and Wood's dialogue infamously said some stupid thing about an Onion.

    -The plot twist at the end of the campaign is pretty obvious.

    Overall this game is a trashfire. It doesn't deserve your money, its a boring slog, and I can't see any reason to pick it over other fps games out right now. Not even the good campaign can save this one.

    Got it free as part of a ps5 bundle (the only way to get a ps5 currently it seems). It is apparent that with every passing year they charge you more and sell you less of a game. It is unfinished and STILL suffers from the same issues COD has always suffered with. Connection issues that make it more a battle of internet providers than of skill etc etc etc. A game that sells as much as CODGot it free as part of a ps5 bundle (the only way to get a ps5 currently it seems).     There are too many bugs in the game, this is 4 months after release. The campaign is generally alright, but the multiplayer and zombies mode, especially on PS5 is have too many problems. The game will crash very often, resetting all of your rounds in zombies, I have not experienced crashes in multiplayer. The game almost made my ears bleed when in crashed.

    Call of duty campaigns have become notoriously linear and with that, notoriously repetitive, and whilst they cannot be compared to massive open world games, the lack of progress in moving away from the linear storyline has really started to frustrate me over the last few years. The campaign was a good mix of everything you'd come to expect with a Call of Duty game - Lots of shooting, lots of blowing up and slow motion carnage.

    On the negative side for the campaign, upon progression to the final mission I am literally on the edge of my seat with excitement. I'm pausing the game and telling my partner (who isn't a gamer) in excrutiating detail what's just happened and why it's so awesome. At the time, I'm considering it one of the top Call of Duty campaigns and I'm ready to see what happens next. I press "X" in eager anticipation........ and the credits roll.

    For those who have experienced this ending, they'll understand that the game ends just as we've got to the most exciting part. It feels unfinished, but at the same time doesn't end on any type of cliffhanger... The game was oustanding, but I was just left a bit unfulfilled. Hard to explain.

    Zombies for me is a no-go. I'm a 30 year old guy who doesn't have a massive amount of time on his hands, I want to go into a game that'll last 30 to an hour at a time. My mates have spent entire nights on Zombies. May be for some people, but definitely not for me, but I realise that this is down to circumstances so haven't actually included this in my review.

    Now for the (extremely) bad. Multiplayer is nothing short of a mess. Modern Warfare was extremely slow, but they've literally gone from the slowest call of duty, to one of the fastest I can remember. The only saving grace is that they've not included the verticality of the previous exo-suit versions, meaning that you know everyone is going to be 'ground-level'.

    However, the speed in which players move is just outrageous and the main reason I'm writing this review. You barely get a chance to see anyone and they've sprinted rings around you and wiped you out. Again, I realise I may be getting old and maybe the reactions might not be where they used to, but it's really not what I expect from a modern day CoD game.

    Time to kill is increased, making the above issue even worse. Add both of these factors to cross-play, and what you have is an extensive advantage for PC players who with the much quicker movement, give me no chance in being able to track them and get a shot off, never mind actually kill them.

    There have been a number of occassions where I have been shot by someone directly infront of me, and I mean literally standing in front of me (as shown by the kill cam). However I don't even get a chance to see them. Having recorded my gameplay, on several of these occassions the player hasn't even shown on my screen. As other players have said, what a horrendous buggy mess.

    The gameplay of multiplayer is the type of level that will prevent me buying a CoD game in the future. The bugs are pretty outrageous for a AAA title, however I can appreciate with Covid some of these will have slipped through the net in the way that we all have to work from home, developers will be no different.

    Essentially, Cold War is essentially half a capaign and a weapon expansion pack for Warzone to me. The one star is for how good the campaign was, but the rest is a total mess.    … Expand

    I just play in campaign mode and this mode is very short only 7 hours of play. I find very expensive to give 65€ just to play 7 hours. My score is 7/10 because graphics are very good and I don't try the multiplayers mode.

    This is the worst nightmare for a real CoD fan. Played every game in the saga (not portable spinoffs) since original CoD on my Pentium III. This isn't nightmarish as a product itself. It is after the release of Modern Warfare. It was like Activision telling the fanbase "hey, let's go back 5 or 6 years boys". And that's enough for me. 1/10

    Extremely many bugs... Not playable!!!! Don't buy! There are permanent graphic errors, players are not displayed and you only see flying weapons around. I don't know what the other versions are like, but PS5 version is a disaster!!!!!

Playing on PS5 since launch, and while playing cross platform with friends the amount of hours wasted restarting the game and rejoining lobbies simply to get chat to work is insane. Not only that, but the amount of crashes is unreal, ranging from crashes thatThis game would get a 7 rating for me, but the amount of bugs is unbelievable. Cold War had some interesting approaches yet it didnt bring up the intensity of other titles in the series. The engine runs okay-ish but I had to battle against some motion sickness. Even fiddling aroun with FOV and settings didnt help, neverI am a bit unsure how to rate this game. For me I like CoD just because of the campaigns. They are scripted as hell and I like em that way.     Another stupid thing is that the game tries to connect you to the servers before you are able to select what you want to play. Sometimes I was kept in queue but was able to jump back into the game via PS5 quick actions. This shows, that there is something very wrong with the game presents itself.

    The engine itself looks beautiful and the sound design is amazing. The RT feels minor im comparison to other title but still gives a decent mix of detail to the game. Loading times were okay-ish, I had one error loop which cured after closing the game and restarting the mission. After all the CoD games consume way too much disk space even if you only install partials.

    Altogether this lead me to a 7/10. Campaign didnt feel as strong as other installments. Engine was fine but has some hiccups. The Dual Sense implementation is very well made I have to admit. The guns feel different and characteristic but I still think many people will just deactive this feature. Have the crank on a shotty especially against zombies was worth it.    … Expand

    Why is the Campaign the last thing to download and thats after 1 TB is downloaded of all the stuff I didn"t want to play. Took me 3 hrs to get the Campaign running and what a let down. But then the game begins and on the PS5 this game looks stunning and plays incredible. The story is very good but too short. Because after you go to play the campaign its like, nah you gotta download it, heres part one… that’s right part one… youll play a mission in this joke of a campaign and then its like oh you nee to download part 2 now, heres another 26gb patch ontope of the 20 you just downloaded, but it doesn’t stope there, theres another 20 gb part 3.. .thats right.. nearly 70 GB patched in for not even 4 hour long campaign. That they couldn’t just put on the disc… downloading multiplayer and zombies makes sense because its primarily online.. but a 4 hour long campaign, it’s a joke…
    I for one do understand why so many people love call of duty, its multiplayer, and thankfully its just as fun here as its ever been with all of its modes outside of team deathmatch.. that’s usually my favorite mode, but I just wasn’t feeling the maps this year in deathmatch, but I had an absolute blast anyway for hours playing that ultra addicting, spawn shoot die gameplay, and its been a hwile since ive played a call of duty game.. since ww2.. so im not sure if these things are new but I am loving the instant respawns here on the next gen.. and I also appreciate that camping snipers have a little reflection to give away their location.. ive never been a fan of zombies mode, its obviously here.. I cant fairly critique it as it just isn’t my thing… but the main reason I play a call of duty game, at least in my currently life where I don’t have the time to sink days into multiplayer is the campaign.. but thankfully I do have the fun and addictive multiplayer to play through while it takes more hours to download than it does to actually play…
    Here you play as yourself, during the cold war, and the campaign actually started with tons of promise.. I wouldn’t mind if every year we got a well told 3-4 hour long story full of amazing set pieces and a mind blowing experience to compliment the fun multiplayer, and this campaign had its moments, it felt like an interactive movie with great moments and missions, some of the best stealth missions ive ever experienced in a first person shooter, but halfway through the campaign just falls apart, it becomes generic first person shooter level design and story telling, theres even a section of the game here youre redoing the same thing like 5 times in a row… that’s how much you can tell the creative juices have evaporated after an impressive start.. I didn’t want to stop playing, but I had to to let part 2 download… such a let down…
    Call of Duty is what it is…
    You know what youre going to get every year…
    it never changes outside of the setting..and this is where the let down comes into play
    Im personaly okay with a little 4 hour journey each year, but please put a little more effort and see that effort through, especially if again,, its only going to be 4 hours… it better be solid.
    But at least you have some new maps to play with.

    I am a Call of Duty Player since Black Ops 3, and even if a lot of people hate it, it's the best since I started playing. The story is quite short, but full of interesting missions. The Zombie Mode is just perfect and i love to play it with my friends. The power ups, the map, everything is just right. I cant wait to play the new map, which btw will be free, which is nice of treyarch.     How the mighty have fallen - Cold war takes a step back in every conceivable way (the campaign being decent is it's saving grace). The multiplayer feels like it was a port from a game made 10 years ago and skill-based matchmaking seems to be intensified. Hard pass - For anyone expecting the quality that was last year's MW, - lower those expectations significantly

    I loved this game iam a huge fan of the seris its probably worth £49.99 if you really like the game seris the campaing mode is short and one of the missions is unplayably buggy slighlty pay to win but not much the zombies is pretty cool but the multiplayer is 100% better than moderwarfares.

    I like call of duty cold war alot. You can choose your character from the game. The game gives you a male and female characters for both teams. I would want to see some more character customization in the future. Besides that the game is very enjoyable.

    I bought this game to open all upgrades on weapons for upcoming Warzone seasons, it's obvious that those guns will dominate there.
    As a game, the Cold War has a good single-player company and so-so multiplayer.
    I have a strong feeling that the single-player and the multiplayer made by different people.

I see some people say you have to install the campaign in 3 parts and get them from the Playstation store. 1. Why on earth would i have to do thati own the disc? 2. There is nothing on the store apart from content they want you to pay for. And none of it says its anything to do with the campaign, its all to do with multiplayer. And i've already paid £70 for the disc it should come with the full campaign on it, i'm not paying for anything else. Then i read someone else say i need to unistall and reinstall something called a battle net!! What on earth is a battle net when its at home!? So i'm left with a broken game that i paid £70 and waited 2 days to install only so i couldn't play it. Whatever happened to the days you just whacked a disc in and off you went? Needless to say i'll be fighting for a refund, even through the small courts if i have to. A total shambles. The last COD game i play that's for sure. Really annoyed me this has.… Expand

    I like this game because the campaign is pure nostalgic of Black Ops 1, see again mason, woods, hudson is awesome and the history and levels are very original. The multiplayer is really enjoyable with a lot of modes and the updates like DLC is FREE!. Zombies I would like more maps but there is only one :(

    Multiplayer

    The worst part of this game is it’s multiplayer, broken at launch for PC, crashed and even bricked a few new gen consoles, bad servers. The guns and the TTK (time to kill). All the guns seem well balanced on the MP side (Not Warzone as of now) of Cold War with a few exceptions of tactical rifles, it seems these tactical rifles are always broken at launch the same with BO4s. The TTK is absolutely abysmal. Constant kill trading kill and die, kill and die, barely able to hit constant feeds. Scorestreaks only seem to be the biggest feed worthy use. Scorestreak system is absolutely spoon feeding the bad children and slow dads who can get their streaks when they don’t deserve it. None are great most are bad. Of course perks are broken, Flak Jacket is the only first perk ran because you’ll never die to explosions if you have it on. Others are there but nothing astonishing, wildcards are ass period and busted, perk greed gives you the ability to run 6 perks with no repercussions whatsoever, OP. Horrible spawns on map, launched with only 6 6v6 maps and 2 12v12 maps and they’re all pretty cheese. God awful leveling system and weapon leveling as well as camo grinding. Slow and methodical boring and un-awarding attachments barely help you in all honesty, you could do just the same with no attachments. SBMM we already know how bad that is, not for COD public matches leave that in ranked (Which doesn’t exist as of now). The new bundles they’ve released with cosmetics have more flavor and character than the whole MP mode combined (I can see where the priorities are) loads of other stuff just not even worth listing, would be nitpicking at that point. Warzone

    Just ruined my the integration from MW to Cold War. Bust Cold War meta weapons, bad UIX, garbage leveling. Still playable and obviously Activision money whale with all the F2P payers buying bundles.

    Zombies

    Probably the only redeeming quality of this game, ditching all that over complicated bullsh*t we’ve seen in the past couple of BO titles. Very good for casuals to enjoy, great lore and story so far for the hardcore fans. Quite sad to see no additional content drop for season 1 other than some sorry ass Christmas mode that’s over all just a paint over with some small tweaks. This is what most people enjoy about CW and they’re already put the zombies underwater with the lack of care.

    This review isn’t obviously the best but these are just my gripes with the game. Some find positives in the game where I can’t just see it. Obviously others have their own opinion but I just see a huge step backwards this year in comparison to last. C19 didn’t help either but there were developer woes way before this pandemic, Sledgehammer lost the show and it was given to Raven and Treyarch because it’s sledgehammer and we all know how they are. Thanking them for the cancerous micro transaction system known as supply drops.    … Expand

This one I felt was too short and not as uninteresting compared to the previous instalments like OG MW and BOPs1.

    Multiplayer lacks solid map design with only 2 maps that are actually enjoyable to play on. However, most maps are extremely campy? with way too much cover and players can blend to the terrain making it almost impossible to see them. The biggest downfall is the matchmaking in the MP, if you play good it will match you with really good players and if you play bad it will match you with not so good players. Making it hard to play consistently on a casual playlist and this type of match-making should be used in a ranked playlist. They need to change this ASAP. The plus side of MP is the gun customisation with it being extremely detailed, being able to see the complex stats of your gun make it easier and fun to customise to suit your playstyle.

    I really enjoyed this instalment's take on zombies and it is really refreshing to play in my opinion. With new enemy types and the main map being really fun to play on. I have not sunk as much hours on zombies mode as much as MP, however I do plan to play it a lot more.

    Briefly, the game occasionally crashes which is really a let-down and I have read articles of the game ruining the hardware of PS5s, which makes me extremely nervous to play it sometimes. Personally, I would recommend waiting for a sale on this one and also until they fix the crashing and the match-making issues.    … Expand

The Moscow kgb mission is one of the best I've played in a while, had strong Goldeneye vibes. Always love the Vietnam levels too,I really enjoyed the campaign on this one as I do most of the black ops games, but yes it is indeed short. I appriciate the step in the right direction with added optional objectives to further the story so its not just a straight forward run and gun cod game.     I'm not into zombies and haven't played much of it at all. I will explore it a little more in the future. Multiplayer was a little bare bones at launch but now that season 1 is in full swing and more content has been released its been fun playing and unlocking levels of the battle pass.

    Warzone interaction is a little spotty, but I expect it to be ironed out in the future. Adaptive triggers on ps5 is neat, but I disabled after a few multiplayer rounds as it hurts my fingers after a while.

I've played CoD since Modern Warfare (2007) and this is the first time I actually don't want to play the game at all. Do not buy unless they update HEAVILY.     As someone who has been playing call of duty since the start of the franchise i can without a doubt say this is the WORST call of duty of all time, I have never played a more frustrating, broken, buggy game. Zombies is also so **** good, so if you're a fan of zombies, i would strongly reccomend this game, as it brings a **** ton of replay ability to the mode with upgradable perks and equipment. It features new armor systems, and uncapped perks for the first time. I've sunk around 50 hours into so far. But if you just want to play zombies, i would recommend waiting for a sale. Also keep in mind for right now, Die Maschine is the only map on launch. Overall i would give the game 8/10. Personally, i would feel inclined to give it a 9/10, but so many people have seemed to face issues like console bricking, which i can't really give an opinion on as ive only played on PC.… Expand

    I like this game kinda. Its so intense and fun with zero bugs as of 12/12/20. I dont get all the negativity towards the game, all the evidence you have to read & collect Intel somewhat gets old.

    Game is broken ! Lot of bugs ! The theme is good but so few modes, maps and guns make the Multiplayer repetitive , don´t waste your time with this crap , feels like a plastic downgrade compared with COD MW ! Also SBMM ruins the matches ! !

Despite the opening statement this game doesn’t do everything wrong but the issues listed above make the game legitimately painful to play. I have been playing this franchise since the original modern warfare and to see the steady decline of this franchise is heartbreaking. Black ops Cold War is COD at its lowest point. It’s criminal that activision and treyarch expect people to pay 60-70$ for a game that seems like it’s still in beta. If you are a casual player that average to above average at call of duty, a person that can use their thumbs, or a person that would like a casual call of duty experience, I urge you to not buy this game. I can almost guarantee that within 2-3 hours you WILL NOT BE HAVING FUN solely due to the skill based matchmaking.     The only reason I got this game is because my cousins asked me to join them in Zombie and Multiplayer games, but other than that I found the campaign to be so generic and boring, there is nothing special about it's story other than it being a rehashed surfaced level fantasy of war without any actual heart or real research. Sometimes when i spawn in i just get killed 10 times and live for about 2 seconds in total.     Ok game. But it Crashes alot and my ps5 crashed total. So it had to reboot data. Fix it asap

    Splitt screen dont work. 5 fps sometimes. My rounds ends with ce error.

    I can start the Story Mode again from begin...because my save data just missing. Too bad cant give -5 Points. Shame on this game

I remember when you could play this game without have to really try and the majority of the time I would do good (around 2.0KD), but now since activison wants everyone to lose some weight they make me have to sweat for like three weeks straight as soon as I do ok in this game (get 350+ SPM and 1.5+ KD). Itsall I got to say is **** SBMM and the optimization for PC and some of the consoles. I mean just look at the beta..., but anyways I guess the game has room to improve but for now I can't play it, just gonna play cyberpunk and wait for RAID to come out.… Expand

    Terrible just terrible. Game seems rushed and is very buggy. Split screen doesn’t work with zombies. I would just burn your money because you’ll still be out $70 but you won’t have to waste your time with this awful game.

    MP is a huge step back from previous Black Ops games. All design choices favour campers and headglitchers... In the past it was easy to punish these types of players but this new game punishes rushing and quick game play... The maps are designed for you to hide and wait, footsteps are way too loud, the screens shake too much when you run and the sprint out time is ridiculously alow

    Unfinished game for 65 quid! crashes console, nowhere enough maps or guns. Grinding to level guns up is ridiculous and skill based match making is maxed out so if you have one good game you get battered on next game

    The best COD game we've had after a long time! More fast-paced, better ranking system, zombies is hyping, and the Elims/death ratio is a helluva lot better than the K/D ratio of Modern Warfare. No more sweating to try to kill someone only to get the assist at the end. Also, can't wait for Battle Pass and League Play coming soon!! Game is so LIT

    I'm so tired of how bad the casting is for these games. The voices are silly and the movement acting, or whatever they do for CGI is serious crap and not authentic looking. It looks like a joke.

    Some of the voices sound like a cartoon and it completely takes away form the vibe of the game. It's getting on my nerves.

Zombies is my second favorite mode and it's really great and fun to play with friends. It's complex but not to complex and the future (new maps, modes, etc) will make this mode even better. Multiplayer is the biggest issue with this game. It doesn't feel good to play and isn't fun to play. I believe there are many reasons for this but the biggest is due to not implementing what MW did. Instead, they almost ignore all the good MW did and revert back to what COD was a couple years ago. I was hoping this series would continue to evolve but it looks like Treyarch is stuck in the past. Overall this game is a 7/10. It's not great but it's not bad. I wouldn't rush out to buy this game, especially because you can play Warzone which is a much better COD experience .… Expand

    Trash, pure trash. Campy, caters to new players who don’t care about getting better, just being average, Skill Based Matchmaking that is complete trash. Lobbies take longer to get into that 10 years ago, weapons that laser beam you because it’s better for new players to feel better about themselves, breaking the lobbies up after every single game.

    Thankfully, a few of the early bugs were ironed out of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and subsequent season passes have patched up modes and maps that were lacking. The campaign is genuinely intriguing but may not appeal to those who just want to run and gun. Zombies and Multiplayer modes are plentiful and there should be something for everyone to thoroughly enjoy. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War should be used as the poster child for PlayStation 5's DualSense controller which has been put to full use for an immersive experience. Casual players will be somewhat put off by the sheer storage space required to fully experience everything that is on offer, especially given that SSD capacity is this generation's gold dust, but Call of Duty die-hards will most likely overlook this.

    I have no doubt that the latest Call of Duty will earn ridiculous amounts of money once again, but I will remember it as a dip in form, a game that’s closer to mediocrity than greatness. The story campaign has a satisfying finale but as a whole is rather uninspired, while the multiplayer has lost the tactical feel I enjoyed in Modern Warfare Remastered. [01/2021, p.56]

    Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the video game equivalent to that one kid in class with a sugar rush and an addiction to pixie sticks. Sure, it might be entertaining for a little while, but the more time you spend with it, the more you realize it’s just rambling on aimlessly. Ultimately, with its lack of a clear vision and focus on what makes a game fun, Cold War isn’t going to entertain you for long.
