    I haven't had this much fun on a game in a long time. I got the platinum trophy on my ps5. Than on the ps4 edition. And I still want to play again. A nice calm relaxing game, with a great story, amazing for people who want to relax after a days work. I really hope there will be a sequel.

    The game seems to be driven towards younger crowds, however the unique creatures in the game brought a sense of Pokémon nostalgia to the mix for me. The characters are expressive however different in personality from one another.     When you need a break from the more intense games that are out there, Bugsnax is definitely a game to turn to! It's fairly easy going, and a lot of the characters have fun dialogue, most of which poke fun at other characters. It also requires at least a decent amount of brain power to play, as you mess around with physics and try to figure out how to actually catch some of the Bugsnax.

    The game is easy but fun. The mechanic is basic but engaging. What makes this game so special and memorable is the story-telling and top-notch voice acting. The character chemistry is well-written as well. I appreciate the whole journey and look forward to the next game.

    Fun game but it can get a little repetitive. Scanning the bugs and taking pictures is fun. The characters and story are interesting though, but I kind of got tired of catching bugs. Highly recommended though if you're looking for an easy going game.

    Loaded up this game not expecting much, A fun game for the little ones. Lots of bright fun characters and puzzles to solve. I feel it would be good to teach your kids the basics of gaming (controls could be easier) . I imagine younger children would find it pretty enjoyable. In my opinion it could be improved with the messages being read out as well, to assist smaller children with theirLoaded up this game not expecting much, A fun game for the little ones. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (8) Very Good. Innovated, but perhaps not in the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguable so.

    An unique take. Definitely feels like a kids game while playing but has adult stuff within the story. The ending has a cool twist that will have you talking to your other friends that played the game. Reminds me of pokemon snap with a lot more gameplay.     Has the "gotta catch em all" appeal for the first couple of hours, then becomes quite repetitive. My favourite part was changing the Grumpus' body parts to see the different designs. Storyline was quite interesting considering this comes across as a children's game at first glance. Would not have bought this game if it wasn't free on PS Plus, but can appreciate it for what it is.

    · Cosas malas: tiene bastantes aspectos mejorables, técnicamente no es una maravilla y no explota demasiado la PS5.

Recomendable totalmente hacer todo al 100% y descubrie los secretos ocultos para ver el final completo, ya que me ha parecido de lo mejor del juego. A nivel técnico no presenta errores ni problemas de rendimiento. Lo mejor, sus personajes e historia, con un final realmente original.     This game made me feel like I was a child again. It is so rare nowadays that a game is good enough to get me to keep playing until I reach the ending. I would compare this game to Spongebob. This is because there are many weird jokes that older people would understand, but also keeps the youngins' entertained. Just play the game.

    Bugsnax is a good relaxing game.It is more like a Pokemon style game(you gotta catch them all).I liked the gameplay and story.The only things i didn't like is there is obvious LGBTQ implementation in the game,which is not good if small kids are playing.

    Truly a hidden gem of early PS5 years. Had this game as a PS+ game, and only after I finally got PS5, Bugsnax was the second game I've played on it, and I loved it so much, that I can't even find the right words to describe how fun it is.

    Weird game. It's very easy, repetitive, and awkward as an adult, yet it's also quite inappropriate for kids. Just feels like a boring game that only became popular because of memes because of its weirdness, but the game itself is not worth playing, even for free.

Some of the snax can be a pain to catch, but overall I had a nice relaxing time with this game. Im 34 years old with no kids so I might not be the exact target demographic for this game, but even I enjoyed it and I know if you’re a parent with kids they would absolutely loveLove the characters.     Bugsnax ended up being a much more delightful game than I thought it would be. While the premise is a bit silly and the characters are almost too goofy for my tastes, this hybrid Pokemon with puzzle solving game really provided a unique experience that had a very addictive gameplay loop. While it's definitely an indie game and many parts are unrefined, the core experience is a delightfulBugsnax ended up being a much more delightful game than I thought it would be. While the premise is a bit silly and the characters are almost too goofy for my tastes, this hybrid Pokemon with puzzle solving game really provided a unique experience that had a very addictive gameplay loop. While it's definitely an indie game and many parts are unrefined, the core experience is a delightful one and playing in first person was definitely different from any game I've played in this genre. Collecting the different bugs was mostly a lot of fun, but sometimes very frustrating as the game doesn't always tell you what to do or how to do it while picking and choosing when they want to give hints. Other weird game making decisions included having really fun boss fights, but only if you found them through side-quests with none being in the main story. Overall this game is very weird but does have an odd level of charm to it, and right at the end they throw some big plot twists at you that I definitely didn't see coming, making the story value go from one of it's weakest elements to one of it's strongest right at the end.

    In short I enjoyed the time I spent with Bugsnax and am glad I decided to give this game a chance. It's far from perfect and is likely a game I'd never play again, but I believe the studio tried their best to make their vision come to life and did an excellent job with the means they had to do so.     Relaixng and unique, got the Platinum for this in a couple of days because i enjoyed it so much. Very worth picking up for the PS5 if you want a different experience with genuinely excellent characters and much more story than initially meets the eye.

Widely accessible game as there's no life/health system but makes it more enjoyable and relaxing whenever there's a difficult sequence. Surprising amount of diversity in this game wasn't expecting 4 characters to be LGBTQ+. A surprise to be sure but a welcome one. ReallyA nice fun and easy game to get into.     I couldn't stop smiling when playing this game. How silly and simple the gameplay is while also having unique characters with their own flaws and goals enabled me to feel a connection to them and want to help them.
    The gameplay felt repetitive during the midgame as the formula for quests is the same in that they're basically all fetch quests however the final quests for a character where    I couldn't stop smiling when playing this game.     If the story was 5x longer than it is - maybe the gameplay would be a little bit repetitive, But for me it wasn't repetitive at all. In every area, you have to come up with different idea and approaches on how to catch the bugsnax, while the story is constantly progressing.

    Don't expect extreme, hard gameplay from this game. Like I said it is a light-hearted, relaxing game for cozy evenings.
    The graphics are cool, music and voice actors fit really well in the game. Also haptic feedback support is a big plus for me.    … Expand

Not only does Bugsnax not disappoint, it blew my expectations out of the water. This is an amazing game everyone should pick up. Wacky yet engaging puzzle style gameplay that is deeplyMan, what an amazing game. Going in, I expected this to be a great game unironically unlike some of the others who turned it into a meme, mostly since I loved Octodad, a thoroughly underrated indie gem. Not only does Bugsnax not disappoint, it blew my expectations out of the water. This is an amazing game everyone should pick up. Wacky yet engaging puzzle style gameplay that is deeply rewarding meets a (literally) colourful cast of characters, each of which are given care and attention by the devs as you see them develop as people and become better over the course of the game. While not a full 10/10 I still think this game deserved to be nominated for a Game of the Year award; it's something special and yet another hit from the Octodad devs, and was an absolute joy to platinum. I wish I could wipe my memories of this and just replay it; something I haven't felt since I watched Gravity Falls.… Expand

The characters are fun, but the voice acting is a bit over the top, at times. Still, it's not bad enough to make you skip voice clips.     Well, that was a really enjoyable experience, the game was fun, it kept me entertained and the gameplay was good, it was also free on ps+ and IMO, it's one of the best that sony offered us. The only downside is the lack of manual save and quick travel.

    bad level design (lots of loading screens for very small levels) poor graphic quality (mobile device / PS3 level maybe, definitely not next PS5) weak story and characters average gameplay mechanics tries to hard to be funny and fails miserably at times could very well have been a mobile game for kids age up to 3 doesn't deserve the current score of 75    tldr kids game, very meh

    However I've since heard it is better than expected, and as Sony decided to give it away for free I decide to play it.. especially as there has been very few ps5 games in the past year.     Bugsnax is essentially a Pokemon Snap type game. You go around photographing (scanning) Bugsnax to find out their behavior, likes and dislikes. There's a loose story of someone going missing that you need to track down, but the characters are so shallo and the plot so thin it's really not a driver to continue the game.

    Once oyu start meeting enough people, new parts of the world unlock, and new bugsnax become available to find. I decided to play it properly and scan and capture all the bugsnax as there's only 100 total.

    There's also clues around to find to progress through the story, but there's only a handful of them as they require little effort to find.
    The game is fairly simplistic and repetitive, however, once you embrace it as a walking simulator and start fulfilling the side quests it's easy to get absorbed in things.

    I do wish there was more to the game though, the characters are so incredibly shallow, and it became obvious the plot was basically only going to matter right at the end, which means throughout playing the game, there's just the snugsnax to scan and capture and a fairly small world to explore.

    However it's easy to just zone out and wlak around scanning and capturing the bugsnax without needing lots of story going on to bribe you. Some of the bugsnax are quite tricky to catch and involve using multipl types of trap together to successful catch them.

    I do wonder who this game was designed for though. As per the memes this game is so chidlish and silly than few adults would be tempted by this. But then when you play it you find the story gets pretty dark and gruesome, and paired with some some tough main quests, I can't see many children getting through this.

    I'm glad I played it though, it was an experience unlike many other (only thing similar is pokemon snap), but I'm glad I got it for free, as there's no way I could justify paying money on a game like this, and I can' see myself recommending this game to anyone either.

    I guess the moral of the story is don't trust the memes, like with Knack (which is a far superior game) sometimes you need to try things for yourself to find out if they're orth buying or not.
    This is why finding and buying games decades ago as so much easier. You could download demos and buy the full game if you liked the demo.    … Expand

    I allowed my niece to play this game for 30 minutes since it was rated E, but then the game started with the homosexual agenda brainwashing. Got a refund right away, looked further into it. This is not a game for kids. There is even a scene where a character tries to commit suicide.

    Part surreal, part heart-warming and part horrific. Bugsnax is one of the strangest games I've ever played. It goes all out on its unique premise and succeeds with flying colours. It's certainly not for everyone, but the brilliant characters and ridiculous world should entertain even the most skeptical of players. It goes right on my list of 'guilty pleasure games'.

    There is not much to hate about Bugsnax, There's nothing that's really offensive about it. It's just a Pokemon-esk game with some good characters and some annoying ones. It's good, I enjoyed it. I will say that this is a good free game (PS Plus), I wouldn't pay 60 bucks for it but it's a damn good game.

    I was going to give this game an 8, but after looking at the price I had to bump it up to a 9. I fully recommend this game. The story was far better and darker than I expected. I was very skeptical when I saw the trailer. The characters, love them or hate them, are all unique and have their own stories. Some Bugsnax felt horrible to try and catch and it felt like you were doing it wrong atI was going to give this game an 8, but after looking at the price I had to bump it up to a 9.     A very fun game with pretty innovative game mechanics like the trap, trip shot and more. I enjoyed all of this gameplay and the platinum, and would recommend. It's on the short side story wise, but still packs a lot of lore and story anyway.

    Low effort games for kids. Kids that are really bored and to poor to afford Sack Boy.. Most of tbe games is listening to moronic stories from the irritating isand people working out some of the easiest pointless puzzles even put into a game.. The theme song is catchy though a 5 forthat.

    I really loved the game, some characters talked nonsense in sidequests, but it was in a good way, I loved boss fights, and catching some challenging bugsnax. The atmosphere, the music, the locations were great, totally recommend to play (dualsense effects on ps5 were awesome).

    You come for the bugsnacks and stay for the wonderfully written characters. While the gameplay is serviceable enough, the atmosphere and story heavily carry the game, and that's not a bad thing.

    A must play indie experience.

    Very lovely, fun game, runs at a smooth 60fps in PS5. Took about 15 hours to platinum. Light hearted but interesting story with a dark twist and a good ending. My favorite PS5 game so far, uses the haptic triggers and rumble in a good but not excessive way.

    Certainly unique, but absolutely RIDDLED with bugs and glitches, even months after launch. Expect to see NPCs suddenly "vanish" and need to repeat certain side-quests. Also disappointing to see the world split up into TINY 'levels' which long loading times between each - not what I'd expect from a PS5 game.

Catching bug snacks.. bugsnacks as the name suggests are half bugs half snacks, and once you eat them you can choose a limb that these bugs become… each character will have you running around their areas collecting different snax and feeding them to them, which is a puzzle within itself, you’ll have to bait some out, trick them into fighting each other, trip them out of the sky, it really is fun trying to figure out just how to catch the snack you’re after.. Though bugsnax doesn’t quite have the magic a game like pokemon has, I never felt the urge beyond the first couple of hours to go out and catch them all... really only capturing the ones I needed to progress the story, and usually im a sucker for collect them all type games, but im just not wure what it was, weather its due to the fact this is simply a ftch quest game or that the areas youre running around are all bare bones and not fun or intriguing to explore, you get that feeling of, eh if I need this one ill come back and get it later,rather than feeling like you found a collectable that you need to grab right this moment… which a game like this should feel… scanning these creatures in the wild will give you hints on how to catch them, and some need caught later on after you aquire a new catching aid from the story…. But bugsnax overall is a really cute and charming game, it is enjoyable from start to finish, even if it doesn’t urge you to do much outside of mainlining… This is a hidden gem definitely worth your time, especially for those into collecting games… you’ll still have fun trying to collect them all until you’re over it…

    -The story is entertaining, it kept me paying attention, and interested in doing all the side quests. The ending and eventually how the story wraps up surprised me a bit, i'm not gonna spoil it because i recommend looking at it yourself, but it is worth reaching the end. Also its pretty funny.

    -The characters are all interesting in their own ways...even the ones i don't personally like, they have their own sidequests that eventually end up with them learning something by the end of them. its simple but not bad at all.

    -Hardly any glitches to note, nothing major, some minor things, but the game would usually quickly correct itself.

    -The bugsnax themselves all look great and have their own interesting patterns and routines with only a few being clones of each other.
    The Bad:
    -previously mentioned minor glitches

    -Catching certain types of bugsnax can be a bit janky, but there's workarounds.

    Bugsnax is overall great. It's simple, fun, and was a nice addition to ps plus with the PS5. I'd definitely recommend playing it through to the end, and even completing all the achievements, it might not be a super big groundbreaking video game, but it is still a helluva great time.    … Expand

Many of the Bugsnax can be caught in very similar ways, leading to little challenge once you figure out all of the game's main tactics. Considering that it's free, it's still an easy recommendation for PS+ owners.

    - Interesting cast of characters and excellent voice acting. Even the Bugsnax are voiced quite nicely!
    - Catchy music for areas. - Plot got turned upside down towards the end. A very good twist that doesn't feel forced. Great ending for the game. - Good inclusion of LGBT characters that also doesn't feel forced. Not huge for me personally but appreciate for others this may be    Pros:

    The real GOTY 2020. Only paid shills say that Ghost of Tsushima and TLOU2 are better. Knack 2 was the benchmark of gaming for years and Bugsnax just set the new bar.

The game itself feels very bland in my opinion. A younger audience might like this a lot. The story felt boring and the ending is somewhat horrible (even with the good ending).

    Bugsnax was absolutely amazing. Great LGBT representation, which is much needed in children's games (reminding parents and children that hetero ever after isn't the only option). The characters were loveable and the art style was an absolute delight! I played on the PS5, and it probably had the best use of the Duelsense since Astros Playroom

    After the trailer, I thought that I would never purchase that game, but as it was in PS Plus, and apart of Astro's Playroom I didn't have any truly PS5 games, I downloaded Bugsnax.

    Now I can tell I was wrong. Bugsnax is a fun, interesting game. I did platinum trophy in it - and the only disadvantage I found, is that I found the game to be short - I want more!

First off, dropping this crap in a child's game is absurd! I am far from homophobic, but I also don't want it forced down mine or my 8yo sons throat! After about 15 mins of gameplay you are told to capture a hamburger bug, but the game fails to give you any explanation of HOW to achieve this. After about 10 mins of trying to figure it out, he and I were both over it and deleted it from the system.… Expand

    After the critically acclaimed death stranding, Reggie had to follow it up with the second strand type game, ten years later Bugsnax was born. With over sixteen times the detail and rtx ray tracing dlss this game really pushes the comador64's hardware to the max

    A perfectly portioned final course. Just as witty as everything that came before, with plenty more to chew on. Sometimes bigger really is just better. [Issue#15, p.82]

    It’s just a shame that the core gameplay here is so dull. Everything else in Bugsnax would make it a strong GOTY contender, but the sheer repetitiveness of the game’s main task drags it all down. Still, given how high the rest of the game flies, there’s only so far down it can go — and as it stands, that still means you’re left with one heck of a game.

    Bugsnax leans heavily on the unique nature of its titular creatures, and it succeeds by doing so. They’re cute, they’re creepy, and their existence makes no logical sense whatsoever. Armed with a bit of design this indelible, the developers could have phoned in the rest and raked in the merchandising money. Instead, they fully committed to delivering a narrative worthy of the creatures starring in it. It was a risky choice, but it was also a daring and clever one, and that’s exactly what it wants to be.
