It’s super glitchy, the story was not there, the gameplay was ok, the way the music was edited inside the game was bad like really bad, the only thing that I enjoyed was the traversal mechanics and that’s that! I finished it in about 10 hours! The sad part is that I payed full price for that game! Lesson learned! Do not preorder games because you liked the trailer!

Graphically it is attractive, the story is quite weak and in the end it becomes very repetitive. It's not a bad game but it has good aspects that make it entertaining, such as exploration and moving freely as if you were a superman without a cape.

i knew this wasn't a great game, everything told me that the game was not really ambitious with moderate budget and the team behind the surge a ok game. But damn, i regreat to have bought it, everything is broken and the visuals put us back to the PS3/X360. I give it 5 because of lot of good intentions, but no it's not a good game. wait to have it on ps+, gamepass or a big discount !

I was excited for this game but combat and gameplay experience isn't great. The graphics wise game looks good but lack of proper combat is deal breaker for me.

    A disappointment.

The gameplay while moving and gliding on the sand is good, but in combat it is awful, between the weird camera and the unbearable targeting system not working as you wish 80% of the time. It is also kind of short (not especially a bad thing), but i was expecting a little more than the 12 hours it took me to reach the ending. Finally, the story, cut-scenes and sound

I understand it is a "little" game made by a little studio, but why the price tag is so high then?

Game doesn't do much to push the genre forward. It's taken a lot from games like Darksiders and others to put itself together. Nothing wrong with it, just don't expect a huge jump in mechanics and ideas.

The story isn't too heavy, allowing you to get back to fighting wraiths and I've had zeros bugs so far. I like that it doesn't hold your hand to heavily, I saw a lot of critics took points off for this.

Another blatant example of how useless the gaming “journalism” has become. This is a game that knows it’s just a combination of better games - like it’s spiritual predecessor, Darksiders - and I love it for that reason. It isn’t trying to be some grandiose BS or act super duper serious. As one idiot critic says in their review, “Fine isn’t acceptable in 2023”, a tremendously stupid thing to say, particularly considering the insane level of irony having that come from a C-list website and someone part of an industry that keeps lowering its standards. But, alas, being good at a few different things but not reinventing the wheel is just not nearly good enough nowadays somehow. You’ve got to overcommit to one gimmick like most games with overly huge empty worlds and gloomy self-seriousness in order to be more than “Fine” these days. For me? No thanks.

The combat is great, the environments and movement are top tier, even the straightforward story isn’t as bad as some make it sound - it’s mostly a couple specific voice acting performances that are reeeeally bad. I had and am still having a blast playing Atlas Fallen. It has other little flaws but they’ve been repeated ad nauseam. So I’ll just say it’s probably a solid 7.5, maybe an 8 if you love the combat style. It isn’t a 10, but it absolutely isn’t a 2 or whatever, let alone a 0. Plastering “0” scores on things they haven’t experienced or overreacting to one particular thing they don’t like, is something cretins on this site love to do, so even though I don’t like just giving it a 10 to “balance it out”, there’s less than 40 scores right now and I feel I need to help get it closer to reality. I would hesitate buying it at full price only if you’re looking for a AAA package with the production and story at that level. Otherwise, if you want to just shut your brain off and fly around the place with sick traversal and old school PS2/PS3 style God of War-like combat, I say go for it.

It's similar to darksiders 3 if u ask me. Whipping to and from enemies. Staying in air doing amazing combos and powers. Targeting limbs for bonus damage and loot. I'm really enjoying. Also... same story as ff16(unnamed=branded, fighting for human rights against a 1000yr old God who is turning land into wasteland)

Its duration is one of its strong points along with its fun, frenetic gameplay with a lot of customization in its builds.

It is a game that I recommend, and it is worth giving it a chance, personally I am enjoying it, I have an advance of almost 25 hours of play in the most demanding level, and I have not finished it yet.

I played The Surge 2, and I can mention from my personal opinion, that this game, being different from the genre, surpasses what the studio has done.

Shoddy storytelling doesn't do justice to the strong setting; Moment-to-moment movement feels incredibly clunky; Unresponsive, sluggish combat can be quite frustrating; Plenty of technical issues; Pervasive lack of polish.

    Thoughts-
In the end, Atlas Fallen is about what I expected it to be- a solid game that deserves legitimate praise for some of the things it does, but one with more than a few rough edges, all of which combine to prevent the game for ever managing to reach its potential in disappointing ways. Thanks to its setting, worldbuilding, traversal and exploration, and the deep progression systems, Atlas Fallen is still a game worth a look in spite of its issues. But it does have issues, and they’re numerous, and not easy to ignore, especially when they add up the way they do.

seems most skills you would want to use are capped behind a MOMENTUM gauge which you constantly have to keep attacking to build up the meter and avoid getting hit ; its no souls game but there were a couple of untimley deaths early on due to the system that got me killed or the camera which is at times abysmal allows enemies free hits on you while you scramble quickly to find the enemy again ; Npc names are weird and odd like npc females named short- stout, splinter, and googles and other odd names to name a npc; traversing feels slow after awhile so thankgod theres fast travel; the game is very short if your just doing the campaign soley ;ppl undoubtedly will compare this to Forspoken but Forspoken is a masterpiece compared to this

The worst of which is the gauntlet strapped to your arm which often talks to you. Its semi open world play areas can be somewhat fun to traverse, but its main traversal mechanic feels unfinished. And the world and its structures feel very basic in every sense. The combat, which is its only interesting selling point can be fun but also has a handful of issues that makes it frustrating or unsatisfying at times. The game boasts a large list of items for different builds but I never saw a reason to try more than one build out because of how little combat and enemies there tends to be. The fantasy setting and world itself is uninteresting and bland. I often felt like I was playing a game from 2 generations ago, and even back then I don’t think this would have been great. Spend your time and money on another game. If you’re a fan of souls likes, try their previous games out at least. Atlas Fallen can be skipped entirely. Expand

But sometimes the sub-missions of the game are so attractive that it makes you find your game in the desert without water and grass that you have been busy with for several hours! The game world is beautiful and empty. The artistic graphics of the game are eye-catching and one of the few completely 9th generation experiences. But technical problems will make your overall experience of this work seriously affected. Even the graphics in the console versions are worse and it seems that the creators left a small budget to optimize the game! In addition to all the above problems, limited customization, weak soundtracks are also added, which greatly reduce the value of the game experience. But it should be mentioned that if you enjoy these styles of games like Forspoken, be sure that you will not regret the experience of this title! Of course, the game has a fast and relatively challenging gameplay that can make it a normal and forgettable experience... Expand

I wish that I could call Atlas Fallen an overlooked gem from an overstuffed year of games, but it doesn’t quite reach that bar. It’s not an unsalvageable project and with some refinement in the gameplay, a stronger script, and some better performances this could be a solid action RPG. I didn’t even have a chance to try out the game’s co-op, which could potentially go some ways to opening up the game’s RPG elements. That doesn’t change that what is there is a fine attempt at something new but one that never fully rises to the occasion.

In this big open world there is plenty to see, do and experience. Atlas Fallen is full of puzzles and treasures. You can play the game alone or with a friend. The navigation works very organically and if you pick up the game again after a long break, you can find a short and concise tutorial list in your journal. This way you can quickly pick up the adventure without too much hassle. As far as we’re concerned, this game is easy to recommend.

If you are looking for something new and fresh, Atlas Fallen might just be the game for you. It has an intriguing world design and ways of traversing it, as well as interesting fighting mechanics. Unfortunately, the rest of the world building relies on boring characters and a story that will hardly keep you entertained for a long while, which is a shame since the rest of the game has some real potential.
