Uncertain, unprepared, and massively unqualified, will Pasternack have what it takes to shine in Sintracorp's hierarchy? It all depends on how he performs on his first assignment and whether he survives it.

During his unconventional employee orientation, Pasternack discovers what his new job really entails: hunting a "witch" whose powers made the success of the corporation possible in the first place, but who now seems to have returned to torment its employees. Brian will meet all kinds of odd characters, escape from terrible creatures, and unravel the hidden secrets of Sintracorp's dark past.

Yuppie Psycho: Executive Edition is a perfect slice of game for players looking to enjoy a few hours of eerie narrative in an uncommon setting. The surreal, demonic setting of Sintracorp’s hellish corporate office is contrasted wonderfully with Brian’s slowly decaying optimism. For players who have already dived into the game, the Executive Edition is a perfect compliment that further expands on the world and offers just enough new content to feel fresh. First days are always hell.

The concept of survival horror in a corporate setting is well-done. But too often, Psycho Yuppie mirrors the mistakes of a corporate giant by not providing enough guidance and limiting the use of the materials used to save your progress. Unless you’re a hardened adventure game aficionado, prepare to feel under-qualified.

Yuppie Psycho is a shining example of the brilliance in indie horror. In a time where every big indie horror property seems progressively more marketed to children, the unapologetic R rating is a refreshing change of pace. An interesting story, likable characters, and the lack of a reliance on a gameplay gimmick or main marketable antagonist make it clear that the developers truly cared and believed about the game they were making, and it shows. That being said, the game too closely homages horror games of old to the detriment of the experience.

Yuppie Psycho : Executive Edition is a fun take on the survival horror genre that succeeds for the most part, though the less said about the save system the better. It can feel a little bit constrictive, but then again isn't going to work? It works for the most part, but get used to replaying sections over and again.
