Mar 21, 2022Young Souls is easy to recommend if you’re hungry for a beat-em-up or dungeon crawler – or better yet, a clever combination of the two! Doubly so if you’re looking for a gorgeous, kid-friendly title to introduce a youngster to the brand of game that captivated you when you were their age. Young Souls’s rewarding gameplay loop, beautiful world, and heartening story make up for its so-so audio and other disappointments, leaving me hoping for a sophomore outing by 1P2P sooner rather than later.

Mar 16, 2022A breezy brawler with a dash of RPG sensibilities and oodles of charm, Young Souls reveals itself to be a resolutely engaging offering that stands out on account of its opulent presentation, loot scooper gameplay and cast of witty and entertaining characters which allows this genre hybrid to punch above its weight.
-
Mar 17, 2022The player also has the possibility of settling the challenge at his convenience and at any time. Another very good point that allows you to appreciate in all circumstances the universe of Young Souls, which has been the subject of very special care despite a writing that is ultimately quite perfectible.

PLAYMay 3, 2022Young Souls might not be a risk taker, but it’s a confident amalgamation of side-scrolling brawling and RPG progression that’s boosted by imaginative flair, urging you to keep tapping your way to victory. Despite the odd quirk, it’s one you’ll just want to keep playing. [Issue#14, p.78]

Mar 10, 2022Young Souls has a beat-em-up heart and an RPG brain. And, at the end of the day, when you jump into the fray, your heart commands. The action is compelling and has a good pace, and the self-irony that reigns in each text gives the game that extra something that helps it build its own identity.
-
Mar 10, 2022Young Souls offers up a unique blend of side-scrolling brawler action and RPG progression, wrapped up in a sumptuous package. It’s Young Souls‘ art style and personality that really shines here; we felt a little let down by the combat, which wasn’t as enjoyable as it should be. Still, there’s a lot to like, and Jenn and Tristan’s adventure is one we’re glad we’ve been a part of.
