This is what happens when developers focus on beauty over substance. No doubt wwe 2k15 looks beautiful and wwe superstars really looks like their real life counterparts but gameplaywise 2k15 is missing some stuff that the past 2k series had already in them.

It would be nice if they would actually listen to real wrestling fans not just wwe fans. This game had good ideas but was done poorly. They need to get better story lines and go back to giving your created charater a voice. Also bring in new match types.

So where can we start with this game. Now let’s kick off with what is good. It's next Gen so it's not difficult to make it look good. For the purest that game is very realistic which is great however seeing as WWE is fake anyway I do find saying it realistic is a selling point but that's by the by and the base for a good game is in here and it has its moments but it seems to just not make it to the surface often enough. I quite like the Stamina System it add a real thing which happens in wrestling when a star is tired after a long match which add examples
But why did they do these
    1) Career Mode: A PS4 exclusive which seems like someone came up with it in the last min. So You pick and new star and the start is good you get a Bill Demont cut scene and your like wow this could be great then it looks like that's it. So my story started with this then I was NXT champion. Then I was in dark matches for the next 2 years till I got to Smackdown. Then I was Intercontinental Champion which I deafened once then was stripped when I went to RAW. Then after the long battle I become WWE champion then my 15 year career is over. OH ok thanks for that. Oh and no options to change things in there and last one you go from quite bad to over the top good.
    2) Create stuff: Why did you strip so much out. So here is what did not make it in. Create A Move, Create A Diva, Create an Arena, Create a story and Create a Championship. I mean every else seems copy pasted why not just do this. Also there is a stuff taken out from the create a superstar in which meant I can’t give my hillbilly a set of Stiletto Heels and a Tiara.
    3) Collar and Elbow Tie up System: All right small gripe but this is just stupid system why out it in.
    4) It’s like they forgot this was supposed to be fun: Modes which used to be fun just don’t seem to be at points.
    5) 2K Showcase: Two quite boring areas to focus on when the last one was quite cool.
So it alright like a say and with some friends fun however when you play on your own it just get dull.

ShowCase mode is another mode which can be fun, but is often padded out with pointless matches with annoying objectives which just take all the fun out of it. The graphics aren't even that good. It's just a fairly passable wrestling game which wastes a few hours when you play it. Not the next-gen experience we expected.

Having read the terrible reviews about the last gen version of this game, I was hopeful that the next gen version would get more attention and time, and it did, but the game is flawed and broken in some areas.

The gameplay itself is decent. I like the changes made, I like that it is slowed down and realistic, and simpler than in the past. However, some core functions in the gameplay are broken. For instance, pinning, or getting pinned really, has been a nightmare. The bar moves WAY too fast and it can be impossible to kick out, even when your wrestler isn't terribly damaged. It's happened enough to me where it is a problem, and I hope an update comes out to fix it.

I've played through most of the 2K showcase and think it's a really nice mode. They do a really good job of capturing the essence of the feuds. However, the game has errored out and kicked back to the PS home screen a few times now, and it can be frustrating. Again, hoping an update clears that.

I haven't played the game online yet, but I can imagine that it may be broken too.

The graphics are definitely nice, and most of the wrestlers look like the real thing.

Avoid the last gen, and pick up this game at some point, maybe wait until some needed updates are done.

WWE 2K15 is much like WWE in real life, it has its good, even great moments, whether that be a match or a promo, but is has its many many problems, its confusing/bad booking, pointless and/or bad matches, terrible commentary etc. This game is similar is has things that are great about it, that really pushes the franchise forward. An example of this is the stunning and beautiful graphics, the fun and enjoyable showcase mode or its most realistic wrestling to date. While these are steps forward for the WWE games it also has many disappointing areas to them, these include the weak customisation, same old bad commentary that has been present for years, lack of match types, TERRIBLE online play and its biggest offence MyCareer. This was the mode everyone was really excited and hyped for and it turned out to be a huge disappointment with boring easy matches with no story behind them, and pointless match after pointless match (very similar to current dat WWE) with no payoff at the end with an out of nowhere and terrible ending to a big disappointment of a mode, that leaves a sour taste in your mouth after you get through the 15 hour plus boring grind feast that is this mode.

In conclusion this game looks and feels great, but with a lack of content around this, it doesn't do enough and will leave you wanting a more fleshed out and better game. Overall it lays the foundation for a great WWE game, but still has a way to go before that is a reality.

The next generation of WWE game ends up a decidedly mixed bag which is difficult to see as anything but a disappointment for those familiar with the series and, for those that aren't, struggles to be comprehensive enough to warrant a purchase.

The next generation of WWE game ends up a decidedly mixed bag which is difficult to see as anything but a disappointment for those familiar with the series and, for those that aren't, struggles to be comprehensive enough to warrant a purchase.

Obviously the graphics are improved over previous incarnations, the animations more fluid and realistic. However it's not exactly the leap that some seem to be suggesting, certain models are decidedly odd and the faces have a tendency to look disconnected and static. The actual bodies in use are sadly very generic, and mostly it appears like the same guy has simply put on a mask to imitate another wrestler....the divas have it even worse....don't be fooled by static shots yes momentarily they can look terrific but in the main they just look 'wrong'.

My Career is the big feature here and in concept is very exciting (yay they give us a mode we had back in 2003), in execution however it is underwhelming with extended periods of nothing going on and a sad lack of character interaction or involvement. Cut scenes are few and far between and the absence of key match types from the game limits the variety it offers.

The combat system has slowed considerably, this brings some sense of weight to proceedings but also much frustration, coupled with the heightened stamina effects you'll spend a lot of time screaming for your fighter to do 'something'. Early in career mode even the shortest matches leave your fellow drooping and ponderous after only a few moves. Reversals are even more frustrating than previous years as the animations are so disconnected from the move's inception the window for reversal feels very out of synch with what's playing out on screen - you will get used to this but imo the fluidity of play is badly affected. I am a fan of the chain wrestling element introduced this year, albeit it's really something that perhaps occurs twice at the beginning of the match and is never seen again...it just ends up feeling a bit half hearted.

Much has been said about the omissions from the creation suite, however just as concerning is the implementation of what they have given us. Body customisation is considerably less powerful than previous years, the same generic body can be made fat or thin (there's also a 'Buff' setting that does very little) but with no ability to change limb or torso lengths nor to change the relative size of the head in relation to the body there is much less variety in who or what you can create. The texture tool is terrific but this is a heady conceit of the game because customisation is more than just applying a different texture to the same model, in short the elements that most affect the model are marginalised or non existent.

Then there are those inexplicable changes or omissions, match types mia, no replay capture, customisation features removed elements that gave the older games masses of replay value...gone! Conversely still present are the usual issues the franchise has suffered for many years dodgy collision detection and clueless opponent AI.

If you haven't got a WWE game and don't care too much for customisation, its worth a rent or maybe a purchase if found on offer...but this is not a showcase next gen game, nor does it feel a complete entry for the series....in many ways you would still be better to go seek WWE 2k14 on last gen.

I am a sucker I buy these things almost regardless, but even for me this time around Yukes and 2K have seriously lost momentum and good will - delivering a bare bones game with slightly improved graphics but precious little innovation where it matters most i.e. gameplay and customisation......I'd love to call it a promising start for a new generation, but it isn't even that as yet - next years iteration has a lot of work to do.

I'm a huge WWE series fan. I've played every title, and I judge them harshly.

The good: The graphics are amazing. The career mode is very welcomed. The Showcase mode makes you care about the matches you are playing with the before and after videos. The universe has a great layout, and some new feud story lines and honestly. The game-play is the best it's ever been. This is an excellent

Now the bad: Very little customization options. Not many slots for logos or CAW, no custom music (This is a fault of Sony, not 2K) Now let me say this: If you want an updated version of Rolins, or Brock. There isn't a problem. But if you the Hurricane. It just won't feel like the real Hurricane like it may have in past games. Which is a shame, because he'll look perfect. The career mode feels like a grind, that has you waiting for something to happen once you leave NXT. Most importantly for me. The universe still needs work. It's still not as fun as it was in 13. It seems they keep going on with it, but not changing a thing minus the menus. Give us something new to do with it. Regardless, it's a solid game and earns a 7 for the game-play alone, as I don't mind the flaws it does have. It doesn't ruin the game for me, like it may some others.

This game is so average that it's just not funny with no superstar threads, no Create-An-Arena, no Create-A-Belt, no story designer, and the fact you can't create a diva is just plain stupid. I wouldn't recommend this unless you're an insane fan or you rented this for 2 bucks.

WWE 2K15 is dissapointing, Creation Suite is gone, and custom animations gone along with custom stories, finishers, music, they get rid of the Diva Creation along with Arena and Championship, and WWE 2K15 ruined the series.

The 2K Showcase modes were good fun while they lasted, definitely got more fun out of it than the mycareer mode. The one flaw that irritated me the whole play time though was that when you take some damage your character takes FOREVER to get back up. Now I know they wanted this to be "realistic" and to have simulation elements but I want my games to be fun and this definitely was not fun. When im playing with a friend and we're both staring at our guys just laying on the mat while we mash buttons to make them get up, that is not fun, not at all, it's actually kind of **** I love the more "arcade-y" style of the Smackdown vs Raw games and i'm mad that they've gotten away from that, hell even '12, '13 and 2K14 were more fun than this. WWE 2K15's debut on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is good but not perfect: the gameplay is a highly fun simulation experience, but the game doesn't have all the feature depth of past games in the series. It is, however, a good template to build upon for future instalments.
