Well, it cannot compare to Dirt, it is ok if you want an arcade, with easy steering and all, but they really should try changing at least the voices. The voices are quite terrible...

A serious warning here to gamers in 2018. This game is virtually unplayable because of how bad the screen tearing is. By far the worst screen tearing of any game on the ps4 period.
I have no idea how this wasn't patched. Did they run out of money? It means a lot for me to say this because I bought it at an extremely steep discount since it's older, which means I would normally be

Recent pick up, and yes, although it's a good few years old now, this thing is a pile of garbage. The cars and scenery look nice, but that is where the praise ends. The front end and menus are basic and pointless. The driving school is not rewarding, it feels like more of a slog than the stages to pass something you just don't care about. Career mode is a basic, messy, and simplistic jokeRecent pick up, and yes, although it's a good few years old now, this thing is a pile of garbage. The cars and scenery look nice, but that is where the praise ends. The front end and menus are basic and pointless. The driving school is not rewarding, it feels like more of a slog than the stages to pass something you just don't care about. Career mode is a basic, messy, and simplistic joke (I completed S1 in J-WRC in 1st place in the standings, only to get told I finished 2nd in the championship). Then in WRC2 you start 4 races into the season, with no hope of winning. An endless slog.

However, the biggest flaw here is the rallies and stages themselves. Uninspired design (2 left, 2 right, 2 left, 2 right) leaves you weaving through tight corners constantly wishing and praying for a straight to get some speed up. Then repeating it only with your headlights on and a poorly added "fog effect". It feels as though the game was designed and developed by people with little or no knowledge of how Rallying works because you can cut as many corners as you want and run as wide as you like without God resetting you to the middle of the track as if he were playing with his slot cars. I can see why though, the further you wander from the road the less detail the background has, so a reset is there to hide poor workmanship. I'd understand if these backgrounds weren't so bland. Many old Rally games on PS1 and 2 had some breathtaking locations and felt real, this is just poor.

The cars are disconnected from the tracks graphically. Mud just seems to kick up from them from nowhere, just because "it's meant to" but it doesn't change regardless of speed. They receive damage from nowhere (I'm sure we've all seen the boot pop open and all 4 corners of the suspension just collapse) which can be nothing to a complete failure regardless of whether you slammed into a wall or not.

Overall it feels like an unfinished arcade racer. Tomorrow I play WRC6, hoping for a slight bit of growth.

Worst Rally game I've ever played in my life. In this game, the screen is tearing and the Ps4 is wearing out excessively.

It's a real disgrace, the Ps3 version of this is even more comedy.

WRC 5 lacks of polish, too much to claim to be a good rally game. May it be in terms of driving, graphics or content, it deserved more development time or resources to convince rally fans.

WRC 5 is surprisingly good for a studio’s debut in the rally games genre but it’s pretty obvious that the developer ran out of time and money too fast. [13/2015, p.39]

A small step for mankind, one giant leap for the series. WRC 5 is heading in the right direction with new owner. It's something between evolution and continental drift. It depends on you how much of a rally-hungry you are before the start of the new season.
