    Worms Rumble takes the long-running turn-based series into the world of real-time online action for the first time. Worms works in real-time as a fast-paced, side-scrolling free-for-all, even with all the omissions and limitations. Despite all the complaints, Worms Rumble is a ton of fun. That said, this feels like a slight divergence from the main series.

    Worms Rumble excels similarly on PS4 as it does on PS5. The differences in performance are noticeable but not significant. Matchmaking works just as quick on both console versions of the game, so you'll always find it easy to scratch that itch for one more round no matter where you play. The PS4 version is another good addition to the already stellar library of the console, and although there isn't much content at launch, Worms Rumble is a worthwhile investment with future promise.

    Although purists may balk at Worms Rumble, I found Team17’s reinvention to be a welcome change in direction for the series. Real-time action wrapped around the battle royale genre works a treat here when combined with the zany, explosive world of Worms, but in order to become a multiple mainstay it needs more depth both in terms of strategy and player progression.

    Worms Rumble is an extremely imaginative and fun riff on multiplayer shooters, and manages to transition the classic franchise to an entirely new genre and format extremely well.

    Worms Rumble is fairly limited out of the gate given the small number of maps that tend to repeat with irritating frequency. However, the gameplay itself is an entertaining twist on a classic formula and still features the signature Worms touches. It remains to be seen whether the promise of new maps, seasonal modes, and outfits is enough to keep players engaged for long stretches of time.

    Broken game, some trophies like last worm standing and challenger (which takes around 30h to achieve) are not popping up.

    At first I thought this game was a joke, when I had heard that this is an actual game, I freaked out. I had to try it for myself. Played it with some friends for maybe an hour or two in total. I honestly think it could be one of the most confusing games ever. It just isn't good.

    Pros and Cons:

    Pros:
    - Cute characters.
    - Cool weapons.

    Cons:
    - Graphics look bad.
    - The 2D feel isn't good for a battle royal-type game.
    - Aim is awful, if you use a DS4 controller then you pretty much can't aim. It's absolutely awful.
    - Can get repetitive. Since there isn't much to do in this small game, you can find yourself repeating the same actions many many times.    … Full Review »
