    I recently played this game alongside my brother. It was hella fun. I enjoyed combat very much. I don't know why it has so many bad reviews. Maybe it had problems at launch? I don't know for sure. But the game is not without its flaws. One of my main issues with it is the fact that there are only a handful of areas in the game. I don't know for sure. But the game is not without its flaws. One of my main issues with it is the fact that there are only a handful of areas in the game. And you're always getting side quests to revisit them. It tends to get boring. You get a mission: go to brother 2 and do the thing then you do it and you go back to the hub area and there's a new side mission asking you to go to brother 2 again. I guess this was mainly done to increase the playtime of players. The skill sets are nice. I didn't use any of the power skill tree at all. Another issue I had with the game is that it tends to get boring. You're constantly going to the previously discovered areas and do uninteresting missions over and over again. By the time we reached the end, we were pretty done with the game. So overall it was a fun game. If you have a co op partner you're gonna have a lot of fun. I got into this game with a negative approach since I heard so many negative things about it but I don't think that's the case    … Expand

    Worse looking than W2, cheap animations, cringey story. If you really care about what happened next, just watch it on youtune. There are about of 10 minutes total of worthwhile content.

    There is some fun to be had playing Wolfenstein style combat with a friend. However the game feels like it's doing everything in its power to undercut its own potential. The open world and live service elements are terrible. The leveling system is such a bad addition. The game is a blatant attempt to force the Wolfenstein fanbase onto the live service hamster wheel.     Я ненавижу это убожество, но прошел с другом, т.к. любим серию, и вот явные плюсы и минусы этой игры

    МИНУСЫ:
    - Ковыряние врагов. Автолевел работает на протяжении всей игры и всех карт
    - Уничтоженный стелс
    - Респам. Как только вы отойдете с карты на пару шагов в сторону- все зарепамятся. Будто ММОРПГ
    - Стремление сделать ЧИСТИ-ЧИСТИ-БРАТИШКА. Игра заставит вас перепройти в рамках допов одно и то же место по 10 раз. И это вообще не интересно.
    - Фишка с криками. Просто представьте: в вас прилетела шрапнель, патроны в обойме кончились, и, казалось бы, конец. Но нет, ваша сестра кричит вам "Джесс, ты круче всех", и всё: все раны затянулись, броня резко собралась обратно, а в обойму вернулись патроны, да еще и урон увеличился в четыре раза. Я не знаю, как выразить своих эмоций. Сломать сам жанр, саму формулу шутера, это ж надо еще постараться так обделаться
    - Русская озвучка. Поверьте, вас будет бесить то, как лениво и скучно озвучили персонажей
    - Уничтожение лора игры. Игра выплевывает в игрока просто тонну АРтеФаКТоВ, которые не имеют никакого смысла, обьяснения и БОЖЕ ОНИ ЗАСУНУЛИ МУЛЬТИВСЕЛЕННЫЕ В ВУЛЬФ ЧТО С НИМИ НЕ ТАК
    - Сюжет. Он начинается "просто потому что", и так же заканчиватся, в нем тупо всё, абсолютно всё, еще и паразитизм на культовом Бласковице (поймете, если решите посмотреть концовку)
    - Персонажи. Они получились пустыми, скучными и просто дешевками, которых даже запомнить не удастся, потому что в них нет ничего. Порой они еще и крайне тупые, ну, типа, для шутки, понимаете же, да???
    - Кат-сцены и реализация бюджета. За что я любил Вульф? За потрясающие катсцены (сцена в поезде в первой части, сцена с гитлером, сцены какой-нибудь жести или эпика), они дорогие и поставлены так, чтоб ты сделал ВООООУ. Их больше чем две. Больше чем, мать его, две. В новом вульфе есть буквально две с половиной катсцены: в начале и в конце. И еще половина- ваши любимые сцены с "приколами в лифте" (нет).
    - Ощущения от стрельбы. Их нет. Оружие стало словно игрушечным, дешевые звуки и анимации, автолевелинг и ковыряние противников, все это делает стрельбу просто путой и скучной. А противники и вовсе больше не разлетаются на фарш (ну, точнее значительно меньше, офигеть как меньше). Это не шутер, это просто помойка с порезанными пушками из прошлых частей.
    - Ну и финалочка. То, на что ставили разрабы больше всего- повестка. Это буквально уничтожило игру окончательно, потому что эта повестка даже не может быть бесячей. Она просто скучная, такая же, как и вся игра в остальном.    … Expand

    Its not as bad as people say it is a fun game to play with friends might not be as good as the new order of New colossus but its a fun game. Also you can make the shotgun a assault rifle.

    Я не понимаю авторов, зачем придумывать сюжет про вроде взрослых девиц, выносящих супер фрицев тысячами, разрывая их на части. При том ведущих себя как 12 летние пацаны с этими жопно-сартирными шутками, "буу" из-за угла, как два пальца обоссаными пальцами и т.д.
    Если хотели игру про девочек подростков, зачем это мясо, а если    В общем, игра про девочек, которые считают себя мальчиками.

    Феминизм льется рекой. Все сюжетные герои женщины, кроме двоих. Это сам Би Джей (хотя исходя из сюжета второй части не понятно мужчина он или андроид?), а также антагонист игры.
    Сюжет подается странно, а конкретно в первой и последней главе. Все остальные задания звучат как "Иди найди", "Иди убей", "Иди принеси".
    Теперь о хорошем. По своей структуре это совершенно другая игра, не похожая на предыдущие игры данной серии. И мне это нравится! С оговоркой. В игре сумасшедший бэктрекинг с возрождающимися врагами, но это, я думаю, связано с новой системой прокачки. И это полностью убило стелс, так как первый раз уровень проходить по стелсу можно, но в десятый.....
    Добавили хорошую прокачку персонажа. В прошлых частях она была, какая то тупая. "Убей 50 фашистов в голову, чтобы увеличить объем магазина", "Убей 3х за раз гранатой, чтобы увеличить боезапас", "Собери 200 ед. аптечек за 10 сек" и тд. Бегаешь тупо пол игры с оружием, которое тебе не нравится, что бы чето получить, к этому оружию отношения не имеющее. А так же некоторые нужные апгрейды выдавались за такие жопораздирающие достижения, что...... ё моё.
    Теперь же все нужные "перки" достижимы. Прокачка оружия стала отдельной от навыков и это здорово!
    Далее сюжет. Хотя он короткий и не затейливый, но..... окончание оставляет ОЧЕНЬ хороший задел для Wolfenstein 3.
    Еще шутан. Это выше всех похвал! На мой взгляд, лучший в этой серии.
    Так что моё мнение: выкинуть весь этот детский феминизм, расширить сюжет, сделать одного харизматичного протагониста и была бы лучшая игра в серии.    … Expand

    My biggest complaint amongst many is how much of a downgrade the new characters are, not just the twins. I don't know how old the sisters are but the way they talk seems to me like middle school girls, not people who were trained as Terror-Billy''s kids. not super important but something that for some reason bothered me is the blond sister's laugh is awful it sounds like they replaced the voice actor with Patrick from Spongebob. finally, the time jump thing is **** they should have made this the 5th game instead of the fourth and make a game of us killing Hitler not just saying oh by the way our dad killed Hitler. it didn't bother me at all before but when I heard them say that not even in a cutscene but just them doing their annoying talks with each other. by making the fourth game about TB killing Hitler it would have been a smoother transition to this game.… Expand

    On the one hand, I love the new Wolfenstein series but on the other, I’m not sure why this game exists. I had fun with it sure, I’ll take any new Wolfenstein content but I’m not a big fan of the RPG mechanics in this entry. It kinda makes sense story wise as the twins aren’t as skilled as their dad BJ, but not totally as they become skilled Nazi murderers in record time. The story is aOn the one hand, I love the new Wolfenstein series but on the other, I’m not sure why this game exists. I had fun with it sure, I’ll take any new Wolfenstein content but I’m not a big fan of the RPG mechanics in this entry. It kinda makes sense story wise as the twins aren’t as skilled as their dad BJ, but not totally as they become skilled Nazi murderers in record time. The story is a noticeable step down from the previous games too, the bits & pieces we get are genuinely really good & have me excited for Wolfenstein 3, but over 10 hours there just wasn’t enough to totally hold my interest aside from the gameplay, which is still very good, just not as good as The New Colossus. The RPG mechanics make some of the enemies bullet sponges & at launch the game was totally unplayable for me because of them. At least they fixed it I guess. But yeah, above average game, can’t wait for 3!… Expand

    I WAS excited when I heard about Wolfenstein: Youngblood - the operative word being 'was'. Then, after nearly 24 hours of game time, I sat back, shook my head and said to myself: "What went wrong?"

    The overall setup for Youngblood was interesting - the 19 year old twin daughters of good ol' BJB (who were born near the end of Wolfenstein II: TNC) go on a mission to find their father.    I WAS excited when I heard about Wolfenstein: Youngblood - the operative word being 'was'. Then, after nearly 24 hours of game time, I sat back, shook my head and said to myself: "What went wrong?"

    The overall setup for Youngblood was interesting - the 19 year old twin daughters of good ol' BJB (who were born near the end of Wolfenstein II: TNC) go on a mission to find their father. Except neither of them has experienced true combat and must come to terms with the realities of violence. Unfortunately, after the opening hours, the writing takes a downward turn in terms of story, dialogue and character development. What's even worse is the overall length of the actual campaign - there are only SIX main story missions - a prologue, four middle chapters, and the finale. This is THE SHORTEST CAMPAIGN I'VE EVER PLAYED - it's even shorter than Rage 2. Besides the prologue and the finale, nothing of substance happens in the middle part of the game - you simply infiltrate four high security fortresses, shoot OR stealth ALOT of bad guys, complete some objectives, fight a boss, AND THAT'S IT. On top of this, the plot developments are extremely disappointing and the final boss fight is infuriatingly frustrating.

    What further compounds these issues are the game's RPG gameplay mechanics. For one thing, Youngblood DID NOT need to be a co-op shooter. The shared lives system is archaic and just simply THE WORST - if you or your partner kick the bucket three times, you have to replay your current mission FROM THE START. Also, the game has no checkpoints, so if you quit during the middle of a mission, you have to (you guessed it!) replay the mission FROM THE START. Even if you play in offline mode, you still face these issues.

    Then if you factor in the game's version of being an RPG shooter, you're in for another world of pain. While earning XP and collecting money and collectibles is fun, Youngblood's nature as a role-playing game transforms Wolfenstein's combat from fast and brutal to just simply brutal - as in, you will find it painfully brutal. The adaptive levelling system turns most (if not all) enemies into bullet sponges and some into one-shot wonders who will destroy you in a single hit, turning most firefights into frustrating gauntlets that would rival the games made by FromSoftware.

    AHA! But wait! There's more! What makes this even worse is that enemies have two different types of armour that correspond to the two different ammo types in the game - meaning that if you want to deal sufficient damage to the enemies in your path, you have to swap weapons frequently if there are more than one type of enemy. If you use the wrong ammo type against the opposite type of armour, the damage you deal will be NEGLIGIBLE, subsequently evolving enemies into even greater bullet sponges. And this will happen ALOT, especially when you run out of ammo for the weapon that you NEED and especially when considering the fact that the game's arsenal favours one particular ammo type over the other which simply makes things downright unfair.

    Beyond the gunplay that the recent Wolfenstein games effectively patented (which Youngblood somehow managed to hamstring) Youngblood's offerings are dull and bland - side missions are basic fetch or kill quests and the world is uninteresting to explore (which makes doing the side missions difficult because many of them require you to re-tread previously explored areas). There are skill-points and weapon upgrades to acquire, but they do little to alleviate the game's previously mentioned issues.

    What really ruined Youngblood for me was the WORST glitch I've ever encountered in a videogame. I had almost completed everything in the game and I was near the end of the last side mission. All I needed to do was to fast travel back to base and speak with the quest-giver. When I tried to leave the enemy base, my screen went black. This happened every time - regardless of which exit I chose to use. In my attempt to remedy this, I rebooted the game. It didn't work - I was effectively trapped in that zone, permanently unable to leave. After everything I had endured with Youngblood, the game wouldn't let me finish it.

    Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a dismal game that risks the reputation of the franchise by needlessly experimenting with elements that are simply counterintuitive to a gameplay formula that relies on speed and brevity. The end result is a game that doesn't work, isn't fun and is a blatant cash-grab because it reuses the assets from Wolfenstein II: TNC.    … Expand

    Worst wolfenstein of them all. Paid 20€ for it on the ps store and got completely robbed ! the story is 2h long with a friend, the mission are terribly repetitive, there is no point in stealthing, the sisters are cringe as hell "hell yeah dude" and also boring as hell i should've listen to metacritic

The influence of Arkane Studios is evident here in the level design, which features many interconnecting corridors and buildings with fully built out interiors. The fundamental gameplay loop reminded me of Shadow Warrior 2. You're sent repeatedly to several hub areas to complete various quests, and level up your weapons and abilities. It'sA different take on the new Wolfenstein games. The fundamental gameplay loop reminded me of Shadow Warrior 2. You're sent repeatedly to several hub areas to complete various quests, and level up your weapons and abilities. It's repetitive and grindy, but the decent combat system helps here.

    The story and characters are pretty awful and cringy. I liked the advancement system in this game, as you can build out your character endlessly, and the enemy power level scales to compensate.

    I didn't mind this game, but overall there are much better FPS titles you should be playing first.    … Expand

I have played just about every first person shooter out there this game is at least a 7. co-op check ...double jump check ...killing nazis check.... grab a nazis gun and shoot him in the face check.... grabbing ledges check ...progression balance check. peak out of cover check.... it might not have the epic bj story line but as far as gamehow in the world is this game at 2.6 on here????     -The Enemies eat your Bullets like theres no Damage been dealt at all. -The Bot is just plain stupid. if it goes down you are forced to help it otherwise you have to start the Mission all over again. -Been confronted with nasty Microtransactions to upgrade your Weapons and Stuff.. in the first few Minutes -cringy Sibling Interactions .... to anyone    This Game is just painfully bad.

    -The Enemies eat your Bullets like theres no Damage been dealt at all.
    -The Bot is just plain stupid. if it goes down you are forced to help it otherwise you have to start the Mission all over again.

    + the only good thing may be the Cutscenes.

    I have just beaten the game and found it thoroughly entertaining. This has gotten me into trying out the rest of the new franchise games. The characters were both good. Cheesy, eighties and fun. The co-op mechanic was great, it rarely let me down on single player. The story was a little short but reflected in the price.     Not a single thing is right in this mess of a game. The plot is terrible, the gameplay is a disaster, the missions are always the same, generic and uninspired and the open world formula just doesnt work at all. A cashgrab.

In appearance the game looks like a mobile online shooter, wretched. From Wulfstein, it is one name. A bunch of bugs, you play for the blunt-minded juvenile heifers who create game. It took me two hours togame full of crap. Not only that, having bought a deluxe version, my friend could not play with me, but they didn’t help me and he had to buy a full game, so what is all this for? In appearance the game looks like a mobile online shooter, wretched. From Wulfstein, it is one name. A bunch of bugs, you play for the blunt-minded juvenile heifers who create game. Тем более за половину прайса, я получил даже больше чем хотел, в итоге даже коллектоболсы все собрал.     Where do I even begin. This game has a horrible story and plot that makes no I f*cking sense the whole plot is that there going to find their dad but that’s kinda forgotten about halfway through and all around ends up being irrelevant. The gameplay is also horrible, the fact that I couldn’t pause the game plus it’s horrendous checkpoint system make for a terrible experience a not onlyWhere do I even begin. The gameplay is also horrible, the fact that I couldn’t pause the game plus it’s horrendous checkpoint system make for a terrible experience a not only that the enemies respawned so there was no point in killing the nazis since you could just run past it all oh and let’s not forget about the micro transactions the fact that I need to pay to duel wield a perk which you got for free in the other games is crap.… Expand

    I loved the Wolfenstein: Youngblood. It has some light rpg elements, superpowers, and very well designed levels what make silent approach possible. It's like a Dishonored with a nazi world, with really breathtaking visuals.
    The game is very-very hard if your level below the suggested levels, but it can be explained with that the protagonists are 19 years old girls.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an insult to the fans of Wolfenstein and to the fans of videogames in general.

    The gameplay is horrid. Every enemy is such a bullet sponge it's impossible to play on anything but easy, and even then you get zero exciteent out of it. You are encouraged to invest in garbage micro transactions. All the coop interactions are exhausted at endless doors that can only be opened together. The main campaign is short but the developers try to s**t out hours of content by shoehorning in copy-pasted "side missions" where you kill the same spongy enemies over again.

    The story is even worse than gameplay - instead of the charismatic Blaskowitz you play as his two mentally slow daughters who constantly crack cringeworthy terrible jokes and act as Beavis and Butthead. Each of their lines will make your ears bleed, but the elevator bits take the cake for the most awful embarassing cutscenes I have ever seen. The amount of feminist SJW crap, that already started to leak in WF2, is overwhelming here. The game skips around 20 years from New Colossus, which doesn't make any sense, and even worse, they kill Hitler off-screen. The final "twist" when you finally find Blaskowitz is as stupid as everything that comes before it, and by the point you make it there you just wish the campaign would finally end.

    It is appalling how Bethesda had two such great studios at their disposal - Machine Games and Arkane - which excelled at creating very different games, and forced them to work together to create this (Wolfen)Frankenstein monster of a game which is infinitely worse than any of their previous projects. I hope that whoever greenlit and wrote this disgusting piece of trash will get fired.    … Expand

    The game is awful.
    The main protagonist duo is like a bad parody of beavis and butthead.
    Don't trust the 10 that some millenials are scoring, it is really bad and poorly made.

    Whether or not you enjoy Wolfenstein: Youngblood is going to depend on a lot of factors. If you loved the previous games for their narrative depth, linear story, and simplified gameplay, this might be a tough sell for you. Youngblood is still fundamentally Wolfenstein in almost every way that matters but, like its rookie heroines, it’s a little unpolished and rough around the edges. If you’re looking for something new, innovative, and daring, and can overlook a few flaws (some more glaring than others) then it’s time to suit up, gear up, and once again prove that the only good Nazi is a dead one.

    Even if you only want to do the main missions and enough side-content to level up sufficiently, you’ll get at least ten to 12 hours of play. What’s interesting is the endgame, providing daily and weekly challenges, and allowing you to replay missions for extra XP. Solo this will become tiring, but with a friend? Any excuse to kill Nazis is a good excuse. [Issue#166, p.79]

    At $30, I expected a short but dense Wolfenstein experience with two new protagonists and a tangible narrative thread connecting them to the original games, their father B.J. Blazkowicz. What we got was a horrible imitation of the rest of the series, complete with an absolutely senseless plot, unacceptably bad and annoying characters, and joyless combat. I find that a weak plot can be forgiven if gameplay is flawless and satisfying, and sometimes weaker gameplay can be ignored in favor of an incredible story, but you cannot botch BOTH aspects and expect people to like your game.
