This is a GREAT game. I have long been a fan of the Wolfenstein Franchise. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus did NOT let me down. The graphics and the gameplay are first class. And another benifit is that it really makes the Neo-Nazis, KKK, and Alt-Right insane. 99% of the low ratings are from them. What's better tham a game where you can kill American Nazis and Members of the KKK ?

Wolfenstein went from good to amazing, damn, how I love this game. Shooting Nazi's never felt better, the characters and story is absolutely terrific (and **** crazy) and the score and sound direction are just audible gold. One tip, go with the Wyatt route, much more rewarding in character development and the ending is much better (I love Fergus but he's pretty much a caricature this time around).

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an amazing sequel to 2014's The New Order.

What I really like about this game (as well as its predecessor) is the alternate 1960s history, the characters and storytelling. Protagonist BJ Blazkowicz's character is being built up as a man forced to survive in a world gone awfully bad, and having to deal with his personal demons. Flashbacks show us his tough upbringing by a cruel father, justifying how a man can possibly slaughter hundreds of Nazis like it were a piece of cake. Blazkowicz also has a pregnant girlfriend and worries about his fiancè and unborn twin daughters, foreshadowing the events of Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Storywise the highlight is the level where Blazkowicz faces his father. The main antagonist is Frau Engel, returning from The New Order, portrayed as a maniacal and sadistic Nazi general in a playful way. I also like how they mixed Roswell and Area 52 in this alternate history. Even though Hitler isn't the main antagonist, he makes a cameo appearance (and you have the chance to kick him in the face).

Gameplay is the same as The New Order. You have to traverse some open maps (it's not an open world) and shoot down tons of enemies with the option of doing it stealthily. Whereas in The New Order it was possible to stealth kill entire legions of Nazis, I find it much more difficult to sneak up on enemies in The New Colossus thanks to the level design and the fact that the commanders are located at the very end of the levels, meaning you have to sneak past all of the enemy soldiers before assassinating these commanders (if they spot you they call in re-inforcements). Since gameplay mechanics have remained mostly the same, the developers added 3 "contraptions" (aka gadgets) which you gain access to midway through the campaign. One major gripe I have with the game (as well as its predecessor) is the classic chokepoints. At some points in the game you have to dispatch many waves of re-spawining enemies with bullet sponges thrown into the mix. Without spoiling the story, at the court scene I had to re-load the game some 20 times before finally clearing the level. This is not Dark Souls-style challenging, this is annoying and unfair.

Graphics have been greatly upgraded since The New Order (which was a cross-gen game), The New Colossus focuses on current-gen consoles and sports greatly expanded and detailed levels with many more colors in the chromatic palette. The game runs at 60 fps with just a few drops, and gameplay fluidity is never impacted too much. The voice acting is great, with standouts being the Engel and Blazkowicz characters. The OST is OK.

Overall, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a big improvement over The New Order. It's a shame this series is under-appreciated among gamers and the one-dimensional Doom (let alone CoD) steals all the headlines these days. I hope there is a Wolfenstein III in the future, because Youngblood doesn't really hit the target. I definitely recommend The New Colossus to everyone.

This is a hard game to sit down and talk about. In this short, non-stop, action-packed game, it just goes for it. It dark, gritty and sad but also funny, light and happy at times. It rides the line and what is that line? I don’t even know.

The game starts off with something that was so emotionally draining, right off the bat it was an emotional punch to the gut. While I was sitting next to my dog in real life, I had to shoot B.J. Blazkowicz’s (main characters) childhood dog. Oh man, that was such a tough moment, I was not emotionally prepared for that. After that, the game gets emotionally gets easier to swallow.

After the game’s intro, things start to pick up narratively but everyone still remains to be very gloomy. As the game progresses you meet Super Spesh and Grace who are just trying to survive. Upon their arrival, things start to look like they’re improving and also with Super Spesh he brings some much-needed light-hearted humor. Before they arrived it started to feel like the game was taking itself way too seriously.

I hate to be so vague with everything in regards to the story because there are so many things I want to talk about but I don’t want spoil anything. The game has a tone and then about two-thirds of the way through the game there is a major tonal switch. It goes off the rails crazy and what it does it gets me so excited for the sequel.

It pains me to say this but the weakest part of this game is the gameplay. There is not a great difficulty setting. There are six settings and two through 6 are harder than you want them to be. This is a game that you want some resistance but you don’t want to get stuck in a certain level. This is a game that only flows well when its actually flowing, you want things to progress and move along. The problem with the first difficulty it was too easy. I know it sounds nit-picky but the key to have a great game is having the right difficulty setting.

The gameplay itself, you can dual-wield any weapon and it’s satisfying enough. Depending on the ammo, I was constantly switching up the combinations but it was fun rocking machine gun and shotgun. As I said before I put the difficulty setting on one and played it like a cartoony first-person shooter. Just blasting through Nazi’s. It wound up being fun enough.

The biggest disappointment about this game is the fact that it was so close to being great. With it being on the Doom engine, I thought it was going to play like that. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen quite like that. The story is better than Doom but Doom has the better gameplay.

The entire game was not very long, which is a pro and a con. The game is not something you want to do for 15 hours. But at the same time, asking people to spend $60 on an eight-hour game is asking a lot. I had a lot of fun playing this game and its one the memorable gaming experiences of my life but this is something I would wait until it’s on sale to pick up.

Fantastic wolfenstein game - great graphics, gameplay, and story with clever humor. It misses out on 10 due to lazy level design (misleading lighting) and some poor gameplay mechanics like being able to walk over ammo to pick it up, but having to press action buttons when picking up items from a chest.

Relatively short but an extremely enjoyable campaign, story is what you come to expect from a Wolfenstein game this time a bit more developed but the main core of this game is how many nazis can you kill and how do you kill them. Loved it strongly recommend it.

Wolfenstein II is one of those bigger, better sequels. A fast-paced FPS with tons of collectibles, gore and tough challenges. Fans of the previous Wolfenstein will find it to be an improvement in every way. This entry has a better narrative, bigger levels and plenty of guns and abilities. Graphically, it's an upgrade over its predecessor. I would rate "New Colossus" with a 9 out of 10.

The story in this game can be rough for some due to the subject matter, but it is filled with some of the best voice actors I can remember in a video game (maybe since The Last of Us). The upgrade system is also very cool, allowing you to upgrade your weapons tailored to YOUR gameplay style. Speaking of style, the game has a lot of it. Duel-wielding weapons, falling after getting hit by a grenade, killing Nazis with their own lasers; it is all good stuff and kept me smiling the whole time. Only gripe I have against the game is that stealth is almost impossible besides maybe taking out the first enemy and stealth options are few and far between. If you are looking for a stealthy single player experience, don't choose this, but anyone else will have a grand time. Expand

The last time I played a campaign was in COD: Black Ops on PS3 and the last time I played online was in Battlefield 4, so, going into this game, I was really worried about how much fun I could have in this game. I knew I would totally blew the gameplay by trying to learn how to actually play shooters and, well, lately FPS hasn’t been known for their stellar campaigns. I was almost sure that I would end up abandoning this game or finishing it just for the sake of it. I couldn’t be more wrong.

Let’s start by the graphics. It has it’s ups and downs. The facial design and expressions are ugly as hell, kinda like Mass Effect: Andromeda without the bugs. It creeps you out when you’re in cutscenes and the characters are talking to each other. On the playable parts, however, the graphics are amazing. They seem a little bit cartoonish, but in a good way. This style gives the game a face of it’s own, a lot of personality. The explosions are beautiful and, when you’re walking around Roswell seeing the parades, the KKK, all the stores and buildings, it actually makes you want to walk around that place in real life just to explore, see how things are going. Everything looks alive and beautiful.

The soundtrack of the game is also something really well done. It gives you all sorts of emotions when the music starts playing at scenes with heavy action or the sad scenes. The voice acting is totally on point. It seems like every actor was handpicked for the personality of their characters. And the silence of everything else when B.J. is talking to himself during the campaign is kinda heartbreaking.

The gameplay was very fun, even if it caused me a lot of trouble for not knowing anything about first-person shooters (also it was hard as hell). Everytime I killed a Nazi it felt so **** good. You just wanna grab those guns and shoot through their skulls, and that’s exactly how the combat felt like. B.J.’s movement was smooth and simple. If you wanted to just run around shooting everything or being a little stealthier, everything could be done without major issues. The cover system felt kinda broken to me, though, as I barely even used it. Another thing that was really, really broken was the navigation system, which is the main flaw of this game. The “hint” system, which shows where you’re supposed to go, doesn’t show you anything mosto f the time or makes you completely confused by showing two directions, and that really slows everything down and makes you wonder where the hell am I and where the hell am I supposed to go. Apart from that, I had almost no bugs whatsoever in the game, making the flow of it very fine-tuned.

The story is great. I couldn’t wait for the cutscenes to see how everything was going to advance. And it makes you crave that follow-up. You can’t stop playing until it’s over, really, because you’ll always want to see how you’re going to **** the Nazis again, and how B.J. is going to get his revenge. All the characters in this game are incredible. They all have their own distinct personality. They’re all themselves. From the badass B.J. to the retarded Max Hass, you have no other choice but to love them all (aside from that Nazi **** who is also amazingly constructed).

In an age when multiplayer completely dominates, which is specially true about FPS, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus comes to show that things doesn’t have to be that way. An incredible story, which beautifully-crafted characters and a fun, albeit hard, gameplay, made me fall in love with this franchise. More of this, please. That’s all I ask. More of this.

Actually, it feels like mythology. There are moments, as with most Bethesda games, where you find yourself wandering around a friendly space and examining all of the artwork and detail. The characters have really different personalities and it's easy to like them and want to protect them. There are also a lot of ultra metal moments, some bloody and extremely weird stuff happens. No spoilers, but I loved some of the most bizarre moments in game. I would break this down into the usual pros and cons, but...

then I read the other reviews.

It's stunning that we've reached an age where fighting Hitler himself is "the SJW agenda." The game makes zero mention of any neo American right movements, the enemy is the literal Nazis, the ones from the 1940s, the ones that have ALWAYS BEEN the villians in the Wolfenstein series, yet here you have A SURPRISING AMOUNT OF people giving the game low marks because of it's """politics""" which boil down to nothing more than "Nazis are bad" something to which we USED TO AGREE ON.

In reality, I think this is a solid 9/10 game. It's an A+ with a few frustrating moments that kept it from perfection. I'm bumping up the rating slightly because I honestly think the fact that I just read 30 reviews that only get into specifics when it comes to the game's "politics" and others that seem really vague, making me wonder whether or not they're criticizing the game authentically. I'm sure somewhere in these 200+ bad reviews, someone had a legitimately negative experience and, as someone who hated The Last Jedi, I'm sorry that your opinion is getting lumped in with a bunch of actual fascists.

The reason for this is that Wolfenstein has a reason behind things, story to understand and immerse with, shooting mechanics that feel right and a game that delivers what shooters should be. A game such as this does not require you to know a broad back history of some overly buff protagonist and how they joined an academy became a member of an elite squad of killers and went God save the queen all over a couple of Russian terrorists. No, this game has a story you will enjoy, a story that for most of it feels as if it could have actually happened if not to a lesser degree.

Wolfenstein 2 is a wonderous predecessor to Wolfenstein and for that deserves a medal in its own right. Wolfenstein 2 is one of those games that is not to be forgotten not one you’ll easily forget, Nazis ruling the world you fighting for a better tomorrow all while you listen to Train to Hamburg a record you found while snooping around a well-designed level.

Now I could go on and on and on about how good this game is or how imaginative it was or the way it’s satisfying for a large hulking Nazi behemoth to explode, but I won’t. Instead I will let you enjoy the game as it is by far one of the best shooters I have played in a long time. You pass this one up you’ll regret it I assure.

I went into this game not expecting too much as it wasn't really a game I heard too much about. However, Wolfenstien definitely shocked me. It has its flaws, a fair amount in fact, but it never really retracts too much from the main experience.

The story was the main strength of this game to me. I felt so invested in the characters and their struggle. The main character may not be the most exciting or charismatic hero, but I cannot help but love him. He has watched a lot of his friends die and he just wants the struggle to be over. The characters range from crazy and likable to evil and psychotic. The cut scenes are some of the strongest moments in this game, for me. I love to just sit and watch them like it is a movie as they make the characters seem so real and believable and I just wanted to see them prevail.

The gameplay, however, is a mixed bag. Sure it feels fun to slash through Nazis but the game is actually much more slower paced. You are forced to often hide behind cover and slowly make your way through enemies and it sucks a lot of the enjoyment out of just ripping everyone up. The levels are also really simple, and that wouldn't be a problem, if they weren't so simple they weren't fun. The game mainly has you traverse through confusing areas killing a few enemies and then moving onto the next. If the game wasn't so slow than this would be a lot more fun, sort of similar to Doom (2016). Most of the time, I just wanted to get through the levels as soon as possible so I could immerse myself in the characters and story.

In short, this game managed to keep me drawn into the story and characters with its movie like cut scenes and interesting plot points but gameplay often felt like more of a chore than fun some of the time.

Giving the Nazis and the Wolfenstein series a story was a great step for the franchise and was done right. This want me to play previous Wolfenstein games.

In spite of a number of gameplay shortcomings, Wolfenstein II still packs a great punch, and advances the genre in a number of ways.
    First, the bad:
My biggest problem with the game concerns the tools and feedback it provides players in terms of situational awareness. We take for granted in most modern FPS games that it is easy to tell when you are being shot, and where the shots are coming from. I found myself dying frequently in W2:TNC when I actually had very little sense of how much damage I was taking, or even what my health was at any given moment. The game lacks those all too familiar "health critical" warnings like blood on the screen, desaturation, or even the "beeping" of fully depleted shields. It's simply hard to know the status of your own character.
It's hard to know the status of enemies as well. For starters, they are often not easily visually distinguishable from each other. Eliminating enemy commanders is a key mechanic in the game, as they can sound alarms and call reinforcements, but from a distance of more than about 5 meters they look just like every other enemy in the game, creating confusion for any player trying to eliminate them quickly. What's more, most enemies blend right into the environments, for the most part lacking any contrasting colors, lights on their armor, or other features that would allow you to notice them among the frantic action of a fight. Even during calm moments, they are often very still, and lack loud footsteps, vocal "barks," or other cues that help you understand where they are in the environment.
This feeds into the larger problem of the games poorly realized "play your way" system, theoretically designed to allow for stealth, tactical play, or in-your-face brute force. Without the kind of situational information and feedback I mention above, or systems seen in other flexible play style games like tagging enemies, radar, or better corner peeking, stealth is nearly impossible. Repeatedly I found myself successfully eliminating two or three enemies at most before being spotted by an enemy I didn't even know was there, or worse, having an enemy body (which cannot be moved) being spotted by a living enemy. When this happens, the alarm is sounded almost instantly, resulting in waves of aggressive enemies pouring out of the wood work, forcing you into frantic fire fights. So much for stealth.
Even the "tactical" path, which encourages use of cover, positioning, and careful aiming, is quickly nullified by the same issue. Waves of enemies rushing your position WILL force you out into the open for a big firefight. This is compounded by the somewhat poorly implemented weapon wheel. Changing from a single silenced pistol, for example, to dual wielding a laser and a shotgun, takes several awkward seconds- not great when there's a wall of hot lead coming your way.
    Now for the good:
From a storytelling standpoint, The New Colossus picks up where The New Order left off, both temporally and stylistically. The narrative, dialogue, setting, and characters are at once hyperbolic caricatures, yet endearingly real feeling. For a game that is all about action, I was surprised to find myself relishing the sometimes-lengthy, dialogue-heavy cutscenes. W2:TNC knows how much fun its world and characters are, and it's not afraid to let them speak for themselves during these cutscenes. They pull it off, too. If I have a criticism of the storytelling, it is that it lacks some of the deft-handed subtlety that was present in, for example, the sequence where BJ goes for coffee on the train to Berlin in the first game.
That said, there are plenty of memorable moments. The middle of the game packs some of the most narratively bold sequences I've ever seen in a game. The secret sauce here is found in the way W2:TNC can crank the lunacy up to 11, and yet still make you feel so much; you don't get jaded to it.
There's more I could say about the storytelling, but the brass tacks of any game are found in the moment to moment mechanics, and W2:TNC feels best when you embrace the chaos and dive into the fray, guns blazing. The AI isn't terribly smart, but it is aggressive, and can damage you quickly if you allow yourself to be swarmed, so movement and efficiency are key. If receiving damage lacks feedback, dealing out damage certainly does not. Weapons feel weighty in your hands, fire with satisfying sound and animation, and eviscerate enemies in a way that would make you feel a little bad for them if they weren't *litertally* nazis. The game does begin a little slow, but as your arsenal of weapons and skills increases, combat becomes an amusing playground of high-impact ways to pulp the baddies.
At times the level design leaves something to be desired, but even dull maps come to life under the superb creative direction TNC retains from its predecessor. Not every environment lives up to this promise fully, but the ones that do make a very strong impression.

I feel as if this was a great follow up to the previous Wolfenstein games. Furthermore, the voice acted scenes are done really well and further the story of Wolfenstein.
Though there are a few things i felt they could have done better:
    1. I found the game was too short for my liking as it only took me around 15 hours to finish (excluding the side mission) and i found the side missions to be boring and useless compared to the main ones where in you feel you are doing something important.
    2. Wolfenstein needs to stop getting caught up in race politics, this is something that really bugged me - it's not the Nazi premise in fact i love that about the game but what bugged me was characteristic by Grace Walker - a black female leader in the game who says "White America gave up" i feel that there is no need for this in a shooting game and it really makes me as a White person feel unwanted even after i bought the special version of the game that was 50 pounds plus.
    3. The devs need to entertain the idea of different play styles more, Wolfenstein offers the idea of just running and gunning everyone or doing it stealthily. Though the stealth option really is not an option. As bots in the game somehow always see or hear you whether you are behind cover and barely moving or not furthermore, it's hard to complete levels without going directly through a horde of Nazi's and thus shooting is a much less excruciating and rather rewarding option.

Clearly a lot of thought went into writing the story and the dialogue - yes, it's over the top - but it's still quite something. At times, it was a bit shocking, and certainly topical, even 4 years after its release.
Gameplay is similar to the predecessor, with a few nice tweaks, such as weapon upgrades, more perks, and the ability to dual wield any two weapons (which for me was a minor game-changer.) It feels really smooth - in the first level you're in a wheelchair the entire time - but it doesn't feel clunky at all. I'm sure you can get this game cheaply now - definitely worth doing so.

The game is tedious and annoying, you're super fast which you'd think encourages a speedy action paced gameplay, but you'd be wrong because of how bad the auto-aim of the enemies are which shoot you from a dozen different directions at once without you even knowing where they are. super low health for most of the game and quick deaths, not hard just stupid and boring, forcing you into this weird COD gameplay mode that just doesn't fit the setting of the world. only a few variety of enemy types and bland and boring/forced moments that take away from what "wolfenstein" is meant to be, a badass shooter like DOOM FFS. This is just some sad shooter with a paint of EMO/SJW/PC propaganda all over it.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus however is the total opposite, and that is awesome, it has a great story with interesting characters and creative set pieces, plus it does a great job continuing the story of a classic video game franchise.
It is a violent game but I don't think there is a single gamer out there who does not know what this series is about - killing nazis. It is done in such a fun and creative way though, that these games just simply don't get boring. I enjoyed the flash back parts as well, as we learned a lot more about our hero's tough upbringing. I also truly hated the main villain (which is very good I guess), she is so evil you really want to do your best to finally kill her. Very satisfying...
So all in all it is an outstanding game, that us gamers should support. This one deserves our money, unlike many other ones on the market with greedy publishers!

Back in 2014, Bethesda revived the "Wolfenstein" series for the eighth generation of gaming with "Wolfenstein: The New Order." Many reviewers ended up quite liking the game, and after finally giving it a whirl this year, I thought it was a fine title. Nothing extremely fantastic, but it was pretty solid overall even despite a weak finish. Three years later, Bethesda returned with this sequel, and once again, it took me a while to get to the game. Once I did, though, I can tell you that I had an absolute blast with the game.
"Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" is the complete package for a first-person shooter: from a gameplay standpoint, it takes everything about the first game (both good and bad) and makes amazing improvements: the already solid controls are even smoother, the game as a whole feels so much faster, the gunplay is still really fantastic, and the level design is far more compelling and memorable this time around. Visually, the game is also a real stunner, and what really sets this game apart from the rest of the FPS pack is the writing. This game is not afraid to slow down on the Nazi-killing, blood-splattering fun to remind you that there's a really great story here, one that's filled with real emotion yet still throwing in some comic relief and utilizing its alternate history route to outstanding effect, and rounding itself out with a cast of character that are excellently realized: I applauded Blazkowicz's character development in the last game, and here, he remains the badass that you still sympathize with and root for (especially given the added backstory in this game), his crew is packed to the brim with personality and charm, and General Engel is a sinister, terrifying, and fantastic villain that you'll remember long after you play the game.
If I could complain about anything at all, it's that the difficulty spike still shows up a few times (largely because, as many have said, the game doesn't give you a ton of feedback when getting hit), but the overall gameplay has been improved so much that this doesn't feel like as big of a problem to me. All in all, "Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" is a much-improved, all-around fantastic shooter that should stand tall as one of the eighth generation's better action titles, and definitely as one of the generation's finest FPS titles. And hey, if you're upset about the recent cold streak Bethesda's been on as of late, you might want to give this game a shot, just to see what it's like when they, along with their subsidiaries, actually put real care and effort into their titles, because I can tell you, this game was made with plenty of love and care. You won't want to miss it!
Final rating: 10 out of 10 "Fantastic"

This forced me to select the easiest difficulty setting so that way I could enjoy game in terms of story and gameplay (because I believe that videogames should be fun to play by balancing entertainment value whilst also testing your 'skill' level).

Music - Whoever produced the music for this game is awesome! There's a super heavy song at the beginning menu that was great. Even for the silly cut scene's there is a dynamic and well performed music parts that I thought sounded much better than other games in its genre.

Simple mechanics - Very simple gameplay in the sense that you'll never be confused in upgrading weapons, collecting items, or using weapons. It's pretty dumbed down which I like as it doesn't overcomplicate gaemplay.

Saving: Although some people may complain this takes the difficulty out of the game, I like this feature as the difficulty and amount of enemies at some points in the game are frustrating.

    CONS:

Gameplay movement - I felt B.J. moved too fast and it felt too cartoony in that sense. The melee kills are a little over the top but hey, thats Wolfenstein. The aiming is fine but I feel the player movement somewhat takes away from it.

Difficulty - WOW! Even on Medium this game can get tedious. Thank God you can save whenever you want otherwise it would suck. Some parts enemies will come literally from every angle, and on Medium it takes about 5 seconds to die when this happens. A bit too harsh for me. Towards the end of the game it becomes hilarious for all the wrong reasons. The stealth sucks too. Even when carefully maneuvering through levels, you'll always get caught eventually, and then literally every enemy in that giant part of the map swarm you relentlessly. It is god-damn awful and honestly not fair.

Graphics - I don't know what it is about Bethesda, but their graphics always are weird. There is a mastered 'shine' in the game, but at the same time their are moments where large pixels are noticed and it just looks sloppy/lazy. There was one point where I was throwing nades at an enemy through a hole through a ceiling, an the grenades just bounced off the hole like it was solid ground. SMH.

Overall, good/funny story that addresses real issues in the world today and yesterday. The music was great, the overall gameplay was OK but also felt rushed. The graphics looked like standard Bethesda style. The difficulty felt stupidly overwhelming at times (imagine getting the 'Mein Leben' trophy?!). I think the Bethesda could've added a little more to this game. This game could be an 8 if its serious technical/gameplay flaws could be addressed and updated.

Having Wolfenstein set in America where you help the resistance defeat the Nazis on American soil after the rest of the country just rolled over and said "these are some fine people", doesn't just feel timely and appropriate, it feels damn good. Tapping off Nazis and KKK members, now re-empowered by
their new 'Aryan overlords' has never been more appropriate and has never felt better.

This game kicks ass in so many levels, on every level. Most fun I've had in a long time.

    Misc:
    - an option to see enemies through walls would've been a nice addition, but then again I think i have been spoiled by other games.
    - the objective marker could've been bigger.

During this game i realized that stealth works for so long before you are spotted and i am not the type of person who runs in guns blazing even though that is what this game is intended for. I put 20hrs into this game and more than half-way through everything just seemed seemed repetitive and just kind of wanted to be done with it. Overall it was a good game.

Not normally a big shooter fan, but I cannot resist the epicness of Wolfenstein games. The modern instalments are so badass. The characters are excellent, the weapons are sweet, and killing Nazis is always satisfying. Have barely anything bad to say about this. If you're looking for a fun, action packed and fairly diverse shooter with excellent historical references plus great humour, play this.

    A masterpiece.

Story/Presentation: Probably the most excellently executed narrative in any videogame I've played. Top-notch script with the most realistic dialogue I've ever heard in a game. A great rhythm of horror, comedy, and drama to immerse you into the world and to make you give a damn about what's going on while having a fun time. Excellent character animations and voice work.

A great rhythm of horror, comedy, and drama to immerse you into the world and to make you give a damn about what's going on while having a fun time. Excellent character animations and voice work. The world as imagined is conveyed effectively.

Gameplay: Classic heart-pounding id software push-forward combat combined with some compelling stealth scenarios. Perks upgrade system encourages you to make deliberate choices about how you want to play and gently guides you as to how to improve in that style. Good level design, but nothing that has really made me stop and admire the intricacy. Difficulty is the only place where gameplay is an issue. Despite five or six difficulty settings, devs could not find the sweet spot between "don't hurt me" (2nd) and "bring it on" (3rd) settings, the former being a little too easy, and the latter being a little too hard. I prefer the "don't hurt me" setting to keep the story moving (and of course, not dying a bunch and being able to take a lot of grief fits the character). Manual save option is a nice feature for people interested in playing on a higher difficulty.

Takeaway: This is what games should be in 2019. You don't have to pick and choose between compelling gameplay and a captivating narrative experience. We deserve both, and TNC delivers. This is a compelling and entertaining ride. Play it and have fun. 10/10.

It's refreshing to play a game with serious tones, but doesn't take itself too seriously.

The gameplay pacing here is excellent and I really felt immersed in this dystopian alternate reality. The characters are very believable and I found myself rooting for them as they ventured from mission to mission. The gunplay is super fast paced and feels grounded in its old-school FPS roots.

Solid gameplay and story. Few very cool moments and that is it. Game is simply boring and repetitive. There are no boss fights, not enough weapons and only like 3 different enemies in the whole game. Side missions are not worth playing at all. Game is also too short. I love Doom but this does not deliver the awesomeness of the run and shoot games.

The story here is so-so but where else are you going to get a pregnant top less woman dual wielding machine guns blasting through a fire breathing robot nazi dog as blood rains down on her? Fantastic. The gun play is awesome. Blasting through nazis is always satisfying. A few small complaints. There didn't seem to be very memorable boss fights this time around. The trophies aren't as easy as last time. You don't get to kill Hitler. No zombies or aliens this time. And the weapon selection/ swap system was sort of annoying. The stealth didn't feel like it worked as well as it should have but I think that's just because I suck at stealth and have that same complaint with every game. That's more of a me problem than a game problem. This game has plenty of replayability. I love alternate history/reality worlds. I love the overall look and aesthetic of these Wolfenstein games. The boring and meaningless compulsory side tasks in-between the main missions make it even harder to effectively enjoy the game. It definitely had some major bugs as well to make the gameplay even more frustrating. The campaign, however, is decent enough and sometimes it's just so damn fun to shoot up the bad guys in the game. This game gets a 7/10. Nothing more, nothing less.

The graphics in this game are outstanding for most of it. The gunplay is tight and the ability to make upgrades is a good addition. It never felt repetitive in my opinion. I'll say the worst part of the game is the water... I mean seriously, was the person in charge of water graphics on vacation for the entire development? Mario on the NES has better water than this game does on my PS4.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an FPS that makes a ton of good to great decisions, but also a handful of poor ones. Tightly crafted gameplay is marred by adherence to genre conventions, and the narrative gets off to a slow start as the game decides what it wants to be. However, neither of those are enough to drag this down too much, as it is simply too well put together and has more than enough personality and fun to poke through the layer of seriousness draped over the first parts of the campaign. What is left is a game that can stand as a very fine example of its genre, if not quite a groundbreaking one.
