Everything on the map--including your ammunition--is trying to kill you. And don't even get me started on the game's hard mode. It's borderline impossible, because apparently people who play games are masochists.

As a completely free game on PlayStation Plus, Woah Dave! is brief, throwaway fun. There's nothing wrong with it, but its sheer lack of content means I wouldn't want to spend anything on it.

It reminds me of old-school arcade games where you would just repeatedly kill enemies in a fixed screen, just getting a higher score the better you got at it. I really enjoyed the first boss (don't know if there's others) and Woah Dave gave me at the time my most rare trophy on psn (2.7%?) for getting 300 coins, which made me very proud of myself. (Currently my rarest trophy is for beating Aaru's Awakening though, which is 0.9%).

Is it a short game? yes. Do I think I'll ever get the trophy for collecting 1000 coins? I doubt it. I'm not that good, and it gets really hard. But it's a solid game, with good mechanics and nice arcade-like audio.

The game Is a short burst of instant dying fun for a recent released next gen console game, the game play is simple, the second player option saves it from being a no score, for a time killer you and a friend can throw skulls and eggs at enemies to kill them and grab coins with a techno soundtrack in the background. The fifth game around half hour into the game, the game can quickly become boring unless you're into repetitive game play. The skulls explode and thing get competitive. The Deluxe Edition gives a couple more characters and a map or two, for £3 and pennies, not worth it, for a free PS+ worth a short download when a friend is round. Expand

However, if I'd want to play an old-school game such as this, I'd use my tablet or phone.

I'm giving it a 2 because you and your friend can have 5 minutes of fun in this otherwise boring, repetitive, poorly designed game.

The graphics are crude (this is why people don't program on Atari 2600's in 2015), the music awful and the gameplay repetitive. The controls are a joke and map design is pitiful. If the programmer's design was to create a game to make people thankful that we no longer have to play Atari and similar then he has been successful.

A horrible little game even for free this month. Avoid at all costs unless you want your childhood memories destroyed.
