    Good-
A very fascinating setting. The storytelling is engaging and well written. There is an extreme emphasis on player's choice and it adds to the replay value. The game reacts to literally everything you do and it is impressive how well an indie studio pulled that off. The combat and stealth is enjoyable and fair. The progression feels solid and works well enough

    Bad-
The game has come pretty bad control issues and bad camera problems. The side content is repetitive.

    Thoughts-
These issues, however, are all easy to ignore, because there’s so much more to love in Weird West. There aren’t a lot of games out there that are this committed to letting the player do as they please, but Weird West never says no to you. It lets you lose in its dense, meticulously crafted sandbox of emergent mechanics, and reacts to every single thing you do, crafting an experience that feels entirely of your own making. That’s what makes immersive sims so special, and even in that group, Weird West feels like a landmark achievement.

Metacritic, where people leave negative reviews without playing the game. I pity these people. Weird West is unique and the type of game I wish we had more of these days. Impactful choices, solid writing, abundant interactivity, interesting quests, enticing random encounters, promised post-launch content, good atmosphere, immersion, etc. The only demerits are the clunky controls, lack ofMetacritic, where people leave negative reviews without playing the game. If you like games like wasteland you will love this. It's fantasy and cowboy mixed together and the combat works very well. The combat isn't turn-based, which scared me, but with slow motion and other abilities you can do some impressive impressive shooting. Problems talked about in other posts have been fixed in updates. Game runs very smoothly on the PS4..

This is the freshest thing I played this year. I normally hate twin stick shooting, but here I treat it as a part of the experience. Also, the game has something that games don’t have today: story and dialogues written by a writer or someone who knows what they’re doing.

Try it. It’s not expensive and worth every penny.

I see and hear a pinch of deathloop & a dash of dishonored, one of the characters in Grackle looks just like Billie Lurk from death of the outsider! but weird west is absolutely not those games. Some characters dont even look like the pic next to their body and the camra does get in the way when traveling through buildings. Great game and hope wolfeye makes another. Expand

I was thrilled to see that the developers of Dishonored were creating a new studio and they were developing a brand new game based on this genre.
sadly, the output of the game was not what I expected... a western game should be based on shooting mechanics, but the game relies heavily on stealth mechanics and I felt more like a shinobi or a thief than an actual cowboy or bounty hunter. the environments and graphic style i great, and the gameplay per se is not bad, but when you shoot, your bullets seem to go in slow motion (and you even have an ability to slow time a la Matrix, which is totally cool) but your enemies fire bullets faster than you, so the best way to approach this game is to kill enemies stealthily.
I could not keep it... I did not even finishe the first chapter with the bounty hunter, I got bored of this, If I want to play as a thief or an assassin I would go and play Dishonored, but in a game based on the western genre, you would expect gunplay to be the major player, not an option. This game may be liked by other people, but it was not for me... now I will go to play Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmarer to quench my thirst on weird west fantasy, as this game was not enough for me.

Such a disappointment. I was looking forward to this a lot, especially because of Colantonio. Terrible AI, dreadful loading times (PS5), disastrous Stealth, everything takes forever...I just have to stop playing. I'm gutted honestly

I'm sorry, but while this is a fascinating game, that doesn't make it good. The controls make it way too difficult to aim, the enemies are actually really difficult to spot, making stealth nearly impossible, and the autosave doesn't even work sometimes. Make sure you save plenty because if you die, which you certainly will, you can be brought back really far in the game. The game is fun overall, i like all the RPG aspect, the dialogue and character development, you can make some interesting choices so you feel more immersed in the world. Lacking some refinement in general and improvements in controls, Weird West overcomes these minor problems with good stories in different characters, great immersive sim system and an addictive combat.

Weird West is indeed weird - it blends classic western together with the occult and creates a reactive, living world for you to explore and influence. Your actions sometimes indeed do have far-reaching consequences - and other times the system simply breaks. But the action is good if you get used to the cumbersome control scheme.

It turns out this town is big enough for the two of Weird and West. It’s a combo that makes for a tough but fair, fun, and memorable game. [Issue#14, p.88]
