May 30, 2021This could have been an awesome entry in the Warhammer franchise. Unfortunately, a poor main character, shoddy writing and lackluster story make this another victim for the bargain bin. In fact, I would not purchase it at a discount. I did enjoy the turn based battles but not enough to continue playing. Plenty of better Warhammer games out there.

PLAYJul 5, 2021You’ll curse the gods for its difficulty and the odd technical hitch, but this turn-based strategy game is surprisingly enjoyable if you can push past that. [Issue#3, p.132]

Jun 8, 2021Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is a disappointingly mediocre tactical game. The bits of quality game design and pretty graphics that make up the core of it are overwhelmingly obscured by a frustrating single-player and multiplayer grind, then layered over by a thick paste of bugs, inconsistent rules, and an overall lack of content. Underwhelming to say the least.

May 30, 2021Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is a compact and well made turn-based strategy offering that neatly walks the tightrope of being able to offer beginners not only a decent introduction to the genre, but also to the sprawling Warhammer fantasy setting as well. Though it lacks in scope and can become repetitive, its bite-sized nature and surprising use of roguelike mechanics helps to ensure it remains compelling in a way that few other Warhammer games have managed.
