    Warface is awful in a remarkable number of ways. First of all, it is so laggy and riddled with bugs it’s barely playable in its current state [version 1.05]. It’s also incredibly generic across the board and the color palette used for the levels/maps is so limited and bland it reminded me of Quake 1, but in the worst way possible. Thankfully all the enemies are highlighted in red, whichWarface is awful in a remarkable number of ways. It’s also incredibly generic across the board and the color palette used for the levels/maps is so limited and bland it reminded me of Quake 1, but in the worst way possible. Thankfully all the enemies are highlighted in red, which I’m sure Crytek is trying to sell as a “cool” gameplay-feature, but the truth is that without being highlighted the enemies would be so hard to spot in the midst of all the 50 shades of brown that it would make the game virtually unplayable.

    The level and general game design is clumsy, cheap, lazy and boring. If you die you can either use respawn coins (that you can buy for real money) or you have to wait for your team to reach a checkpoint (or to wipe), which can take a very long time, especially during boss fights. And speaking of boss fights, they’re even more tedious and poorly designed than the rest of the game. Early on you have to shoot a constantly moving helicopter from a distance with a whole lot of non-target-tracking missiles while you’re getting shot at from every direction by endlessly respawning enemies. Does that sound like fun? Because it really isn’t. It’s even worse if only one guy on your team is left alive and he’s trying quite unsuccessfully to kill the boss by himself while he’s keeping you and everyone else from respawning and you either have to just watch him for 20 minutes or leave the game and start over the mission. This happened to me almost every other mission, which makes sense, because that’s how Crytek gets people to regret not having bought those respawn coins.

    There are also different classes, but only one of them has ammo refills you can give to your teammates or use yourself, which means if you’re not choosing that class and you’re playing with randoms (or if you’re playing with friends and none of them is playing that class, or if everyone of your friends playing that class is dead, etc.) you’re not getting any more ammo once you ran out after a few minutes and then all you can do is die and usually wait for such a long time before you finally respawn that it’ll definitely make you regret not having bought some f-ing respawn coins!

    Lots of little details like the tiny text and awkward to navigate menus makes this feel like the PC-version running on an emulator instead of a proper, optimized console port Crytek put any thought or effort into. Too much of this game feels poorly thought-out in general, like the fact that once you’ve finished a mission you don’t get asked if you’d like to start the new mission you’ve just unlocked, instead the game automatically throws you and your team into a mission you’ve already completed and you have to wait until it’s done loading before you can return to the lobby.

    The only positive thing I can confidently say about Warface is that you won’t have to feel bad that you’ve flushed a bunch of money down the toilet to buy this game, because it’s free (and not worth a penny more than that!)

    Edit: I totally forgot to mention the multiplayer/vs-mode. I guess my brain was trying to block out the memory of it, because it’s arguably the worst part of the game. Most maps look like they were cobbled together in less than five minutes by an intern and the matches are an imbalanced, frustratingly chaotic and mindless mess. Even the “better” maps seem weirdly antiquated and amateurishly designed. Teams/players always respawn in the same place, for example, which means you can go there and gun down players as they respawn. It’s something I haven’t seen in a game in a very long time and for good reason, because it’s unfair, incredibly frustrating and just terrible, outdated, lazy design.

    I also didn’t mention that the game gives you nice items sometimes (like a vest, for example), lets you get used to them for a while and then takes them away again. You will feel weaker of course and I’m guessing the intention is that it‘ll make you want to buy the items back with real money.

    The concept of the game is interesting. You can either do PVP or PVE. With PVP there are numerous different ones you can play. Deathmatch, storm, blitz, battle royale, and etc. When I first started playing the game there was no problems. The game wasn't overly laggy and I NEVER got kicked from the matches.

The game became so laggy that it is damn near impossible to play. I've been kicked out numerous times for a high latency. Also when Battle Royale came out they introduced being sanctioned for leaving matches early. It doesn't matter if you intentionally leave the match or if something out of your control happens. You're punished for it. At first it's a minute but if it keeps happening the time increases. Well here lately I've been randomly tossed out of matches. It won't say that I was voted out or that I was kicked for high latency and I didn't lose internet, BUT I'm still sanctioned for it.

    Serves suck. Dont bother leaving feedback or doing survey they never respond. I have also lost kredits that never got refunded. Its to bad the game had potential.

    This is a substandard FPS with a pretty coat of paint. The PVE is as bland as a 3 ingredient salad for dinner. The PvP balancing is a joke with servers that lag and Pay to win guns. You either drop hundreds of dollars on loot boxes and hope for a decent weapon or get decimated in PvP. There is armour as well but you make less money than it costs to maintain playing this game.     Game glitches so bad I get killed by bullets shot through metal containers and around corners when I’m NOT visible to the other player. I shoot players emptying full clips into them and nothing and yet they hit me with one bullet and I’m dead. The bag and tags are ridiculous you should not be allowed to collect tags unless they are yours as I have lost out on millions of points due toGame glitches so bad I get killed by bullets shot through metal containers and around corners when I’m NOT visible to the other player. I have spent hundreds of real money on new guns that are supposedly better, and buying Kredits to but ammos etc and I get nothing back in return for the money. You get threw into games halfway through and sometimes with only one minute out of ten remaining. Teams are certainly not balanced level wise as claimed. I used to love this game as did my husband but nowadays I spend most of my time listening to him scream and swear at the tv and I understand why. The game is very unjust, very unfair and full of glitches which they claim to sort but only make worse. DO NOT download this game. It will only agitate and annoy you.… Expand

    So many issues. Servers suck, matchmaking is horrible. Rubberbanding, lag, p2w as all hell. Nothing ever gets fixed.

    The game is very uninspired. It takes elements from CS:GO, The Call of Duty games and copies almost all of its modes and main game mechanics from the two. To top it all off, it has a battle royale mode, because of course it does. Its fun to play with friends, but I didn't have much fun whenever I played alone. It has a cheap anti-cheat software, so running into hackers happens regularly.The game is very uninspired. It takes elements from CS:GO, The Call of Duty games and copies almost all of its modes and main game mechanics from the two. To top it all off, it has a battle royale mode, because of course it does. Its fun to play with friends, but I didn't have much fun whenever I played alone. It has a cheap anti-cheat software, so running into hackers happens regularly. It has about 4 currencies when only one or two are needed. One of the currencies can be purchased with real money. This wouldn't be a problem if you could only use it to buy cosmetics, but you can use it to by Weapons and other gear that will give you an edge over your opponents who don't spend money on the game. The graphics are terrible you'd think that you're playing a game from 2009. Not to mention they have advertised the game as having cross platform play, a feature the game does not actually contain. A quick google search will show you that they have been promising cross platfrom play to be added for over 2 years now, but they have yet to deliver. I won't sit here and pretend like the game can't be fun at times, or that I didn't have any fun playing it. If you have friends to play the game with it can be really fun! Though with all the things I mentioned before, it is a semi-rare occurance, especially if you're playing alone.… Expand

    Content: I've been playing Warface since 2019. In the span of almost 2 years, they only managed to add one game mode (Battle Royale). One. Game. Mode. Not only that, but adding new weapons or armors, just overall variety in these categories was and still is rare. We would get too excited whenever my friend and I would see that there were some cool new stuff in the shop. Only 2 decent mapsContent: I've been playing Warface since 2019. We would get too excited whenever my friend and I would see that there were some cool new stuff in the shop. Only 2 decent maps have been added in the 2 years, with the reset being trash.

    Monetization: You can buy weapons. You can buy armors. You can literally pay for advantage. I woulda been fine if it was cosmetic, it's expected as a free to play game. But no. They JUST HAD to add prices to 2/3 of the items. While you can earn weapons, armor, attachments, eventually, it just takes sooooo long to get all that stuff and ooooooooooOOOOoooo. You see that you can buy a booster for that. You can pay for boosters (with real world money) to decrease the time to level up, increase the amount of cash you get, crowns you get, and the decrease the amount of time required to get the earnable items. Right now, pretty much all of the weapons as of May 21, 2021, (I have no clue how long it's been like this), you can't purchase weapons with the in game cash. You can rent them with in game money you get from using your mom's credit card, but that's about it. Even better, they have loot boxes, where you have a chance at getting permeant weapons or temporary weapons to use :].

    Variety: There are tons of stuff you can get in this game. with a few fun modes. Ranked is pretty neat, you can earn free things from it. Overall, the PvP part of the game is done pretty well. Now about the PvE. The co-op missions are normally kinda fun, some cool stuff in there, sometimes reach a annoying parts, with there not being that many missions in co- op, it's still semi-enjoyable. Now about the Spec-ops. Imagine Modern-Warfare (2019) when it first released with spec-ops. Not in terms of the amount of missions, but the everything else. It is absolutely horrid and infuriating. There are so many enemies that you KNOW you are going to need revive tokens (which you can pay for with real world moneeeeyyyy). Missions take long and are not fun (except for the horde defending ones with zombies, but even then, they're still not all that great). You are also going to need at least one of every class in your team, so if you have a class slot that hasn't been filled by another player, you're team is destined to fail.

    Extras: The graphics on consoles aren't really good (it would at least be understandable for Switch, but can't say the same for Xbox and Playstation). The settings and customization is fun to mess around with, so that's something good.

    Overall: This game is mediocre. Basically, this is what you have whenever you ask your mom if you can get CoD and she says you have CoD at home. The multiplayer is fun, the Co-Op is okay, along with the gameplay being okay, and everything else just kinda sucks. I would love to see this game do better, but if they keep up with this monetization and little content and don't fix their Spec-ops, I have a funny feeling their player base is going to diminish. Is this game worth your time? Personally, I think so if you're just looking for a fun casual multiplayer and cooperative experience with some buds and don't mind all the monetization. But if you have CoD, or (personally I consider better) Battlefield, you would probably have a better time playing those.    … Expand

    There are so many better options for those who want to shoot men on a budget, that there’s almost no good way to recommend Warface above them all.
