I to Think V-Rally 4 is a really good rally game, V-Rally now over shadowed by the new giants of this generation like the Dirt series, or WRC games, But rally enthusiast should absolutely give this one a chance you will be surprised like i was to find a solid contender here in what you would expect to find in your typical rally games. All the features, upgrades and settings you could need plus it has split screen multi player that's always a good thing to see these days. Plus the handling especially on controller is sublime, It feels just right, I also like the camera if you notice will slightly draws in, and away from the car on acceleration, which gives the sense of acceleration, nice touch and the sense of speed is good here to. Many of these reviews clearly didn't give this game a chance and went into it like i did thinking it was just a Dirt Rip off, not at all Codemasters and the like should be a bit worried if this is V-Rally first attempt in this generation of gaming. With the beautiful wide open views, and scenery, the draw distances, and scale of the environments is impressive, whilst driving along on top a thin mountain road on the Kenya stage, it gave me a slight bit of vertigo, ive not experienced this in none of the other top titles wow. i think this game is misunderstood , has very beautiful tracks very realistic handling of the car and i think is compares easy with dirt rally 2 (which I believe is the same with 1)

PS4 Pro console: Not sure what the bad reviews are about because I own the WRC games, Dirt Rally and Seb Loeb Rally games on the Ps4 and V-Rally 4 is just as good as those games. After reading some reviews before playing the game I was thinking I might end up trading this game but after playing it I found the game to be just fine. I like that you can adjust AI on a scale of 0-100. There are some adjustments available when setting up the car (gearbox ratios, ground clearance, springs, shocks, brakes) and you can upgrade engine, chassis, gearbox, radiator, brakes, etc... Graphics are really good too. Expand

this is actually my first rally game, I'm not a "car games" fan, but I love this one, I love the cars, the landscapes, the routes, you have different kind of races, the menus are good. I don't understand why the hate this game receives ... I'm pretty happy with it.

Consdering how lackluster and arcade the physics here really are, it's actually a really fun game. I find myself forcing me to close this game due to having little time and so many other story etc games on the play list. I've played DR and DR 2.0 for a combined of about 4 years with a wheel setup and this game really feels nice to play casually with a controller for a change, you really get some nice slides in. Found this game PS store discount. 3,99€ and its one of best rally games i have played and i have played alot. Im not super rally fan but i have been there since first ColinMcRae Rally.
Its not "real" WRC game but yet not so arcade you might think.

The rally fundamentals are there, but so is a disappointingly shoddy career mode. Genre fans will find a lot to love, but this is far from taking pole position. [Issue#155, p.86]

Fans of the series will feel at home with the handling model, which recaptures the feel and behaviour of the original in a new modern context with surprising success. It's not a sim-heavy experience, but it is an appropriate challenge that asks more of the player than the average arcade rally affair does. The car list is lacking in terms of modern options, but existing fans will have a soft spot for the classics on offer. It's just a shame that the career mode fails to distinguish itself, and the online multiplayer is sparsely populated. Any future iterations will need to be more inventive, but V-Rally 4 is a surprisingly fun throwback.

In a genre that has its fair share of challengers, V Rally 4 comes in dead last thanks to its bipolar handling, meagre selection of tracks and a modest grab bag of disciplines that fails to excite any fan of dirty racing.
