Nothing better than playing with 2 birds in an exhilarating joy ride of the senses. Chloe is as alluring as ever and Nadine compliments Chloe's cunning with her trademark brawn. Could have been more explorable though. Great game nonetheless.

More Uncharted 4. More of the greatest game to come out last year. The price and level of polish is second to none. The Engine is amazing and the banter between Cloe and Nadiene is great. In typical Naughty Dog fashion I have been spoiled again. Thank you for such a memorable series. It will be missed.

More Uncharted 4. The game is short and sweet, featuring two lovely female protagonists with very good chemistry between them. I was surprised how much I liked Nadine in this one, and I liked Chloe already. The animation is gorgeous, especially the facial expressions. Well worth the price.

More of U4? Yes please! Beautiful game with amazing graphic but everything inside is too familiar. Chloe, my favorite Uncharted character doesn't have quality narrative and comedy like Nate.

Chloe and Nadine are absolutely charming, alluring and wonderful company on this journey. I don’t care that ND went with the same core loop mechanics as Uncharted 4 - because they really bloody work. The scenery is as always gorgeous, if not amongst the very best in ANY Uncharted game.

The game was decent the controls were very good considering they were U4 controls. But the story was lacking so much enthusiasm and depth with the characters. I did not get much of a connection with Chloe and Nadine rather then Nate and Sully/Nate and Elena. But overall decent game but it’s just not the best. Hopefully in the future we can see Nathan again.

It is kinda unbelievable how much I liked this game since I didn't like to play Uncharted 4 and I was wondering if it was worth my time but this game really surprised me in a positive way.

The biggest thing I didn't like about Uncharted 4 was its pace. The story was so slow and there are many parts that were a walking simulator or a climbing simulator. It was so tiresome. In Lost Legacy these climbing and walking parts are way shorter so it isn't so tiresome, additionally, the story isn't so tiresome either, while in Uncharted 4 there were a lot of dead ends until finally finding the treasure, here it is way faster.

Also, the combat is much better, although it is similar it has some additions that make it a lot more fun, like some weapons with silenciator and stealth killing by jumping on the enemy from above.

And different from Uncharted 4, even the ending was a lot more fun. The beginning and the middle of this game are like 6-7/10 but the ending is 10/10 (the 2 last chapters from the 9 that Lost Legacy has). The ending has adrenaline and unbelievable scenes non-stop.

Emphasis on the scene of the two protagonists (Chloe and Nadine) beating up the villain in a synchronized way and then fleeing from the train that was going to fall off the bridge.

When I was playing this game I was wondering why couldn't Uncharted 4 be so electrifying too.

It was only in development for one year, and the final product reflects that. So Uncharted 4 was a major disappointment for me. It introduced a great new character (Troy Baker just can't do wrong, even if he tried to), but threw the lighthearted pulpy vibe overboard and literally killed the franchise by putting a lid on it for good.

However, when a game with Claudia Black as Chloe Frazer comes along, you just can't pass it up. Unsurprisingly, she's just as great as ever and makes for a tremendous lead. (I wasn't impressed with Laura Baileys Nadine Ross in U4; here she fares a little better.) But if you played U4, you know exactly what you're gonna get with LL. It's... okay. Just more of the same, it plays and feels exactly like the Libertalia part of U4.

Nevertheless, if you manage to trudge through four of roughly five hours, when the duo becomes a trio (no spoilers here), the game really picks up. The lighthearted banter returns, the dynamic between the three protagonists feels great, the actors play off each other really well, and in the final chapter, which is nothing short of a love letter to the second Uncharted game, the gameplay really becomes fun all of a sudden - and the epilogue actually manages to develop as much charm as U2's (the game's, not the band's) epilogue.

As I said, it's really just more of the same, but I'd recommend LL for the last two chapters.

What distinguishes this game from the other Uncharted games, of course, is that the protagonist is a woman who was a secondary character in certain other Uncharted games. She and her partner in crime go on an adventure and both have a personality that is a lot more serious, and untrusting, than Nathan Drake. In a way I missed Nathan's jokey attitude, but as the game went on and the two very slowly - VERY slowly - came to trust each other I really appreciated that character development, the realism of it, compared to anything in the other uncharted games. And the latter half of this game is brilliant. The first half is fine but it's in the second half where it soars. It's not like Uncharted 2, for example, which started off with a masterful set piece. Instead, Uncharted Lost Legacy starts off merely good and gets increasingly better as the game wears on. Expand

    - Chemistry between the leads works well and has a good arc.
    - Voice acting work is great
    - Dialogue still the best in the business
    - Driving portions are very well done and represent a move forward for the franchise
    - Some solid puzzles, especially the one with the shadows
    - The final setpiece works very well and is the best version of it in the series
    - Some of the most organic-feeling and helpful companion characters in all of gaming. They not only help with combat, but offer great complimentary dialogue and even help with problem solving

    Cons:
    - The combat seems worse than I remember in Uncharted 4, with more limited weapon selection, less creative arenas, and level design that often doesn't support stealth as well. Of course, the actual shooting is rather boring.
    - Still tons of strange invisible walls and auto-deaths that don't fit the logic of the game. Especially egregious due to how realistic the game tries to be
    - The actual plot itself is fairly boring and the main characters lack the charisma of the main trio from the rest of the series (Nate, Sully, & Elena)
    - Not enough puzzles. Most of the game is simply climbing around - the proportion seems much larger than in Uncharted 4
    - Worst final boss of the series from a gameplay perspective
    - No original setpieces
    - Treasures are still uninteresting collectables that are only still mitigated by the inclusion of the Queen's Ruby

    Final Word:
If you're looking for more Uncharted 4 - here it is. The incredible visuals and audio are still hampered by relatively boring gameplay, although Naughty Dog has implemented a few interesting innovations that do improve the flow of the exploration and firefights.

It's Naughty Dog, so the story is really well done, though the least substantial of the franchise (understandable, as this is more an expansion of 4 than a pure entry), but still manages to be entertaining start to finish, and actually gives the best villain in the franchise this side of Lazarević, too bad we got so little of him. Fantastic climax. Gameplay is the same high standard Naughty Dog always brings, doesn't bring anything new from Uncharted 4 (again, it was more of an expansion), but I did like how Chloe doesn't feel just like a reskined Drake, as she's not as effective with melee, still not incredibly complicated, but it was a nice touch, too often things want to take a petite woman and have her power be far more than you'll almost ever find. My only real problem, still no Charlie Cutter. Expand

Should you play this as your firstUncharted: The Lost Legacy feels like a cool idea that took a few bumps down the tree when it comes to execution and wounded up still fun and enjoyable, but perhaps not as clever as it lets on. Let me first establish that a 7/10 in my opinion is a GOOD score and is worth recommending, but that recommendation is ONLY to Uncharted fans and only them. Should you play this as your first Uncharted game (even if you played Uncharted 4 prior to), you will have no idea who anyone is or what references of the past games are mentioned. If you want to spend $40 on anything related to Uncharted in that department, play Nathan Drake's Collection instead. Let me go into a bit of depth of what pros and cons I saw on my run through the campaign (since the multiplayer is tied to your Uncharted 4's account as is survival mode so there's no need to rehash them aside from they are decent but not anything to hit home with).

Naughty Dog is definitely strong in art direction, voice work, mocaping characters and having good music that adds to tension. The standard combat and stealth is from Uncharted 4, including the grappling hook and climbing picks, which is good and solid, but much like Uncharted 4 there is not much complexity to it that I feel that does wanting more interactive ways of engaging targets will be very disappointed. If we structure the story in three big acts, I'd say the first act is decent, the second act is slightly better and the final act is great. The final act in particular is a nod of the previous games but manages to mix it with current mechanics that felt desperately needed in the previous acts (I'll explain shortly on that). Claudia Black as main protagonist Chloe Frazer nails it with a nice synergy and chemistry to Laura Bailey's Nadine Ross that makes their quips, dialogue always mature and pulls the right punches that gave me chuckles at unpredictable moments. I really like Asav as a the villain, because unlike ALL the villains in the previous Uncharted games, he has a goal that is not half assed like Navarro's reveal, not as generic or cliche as Lazarevic, concrete to Marlow's mysticism and understandable unlike Rafe's reasoning. It's funny that in a game that doesn't have Nathan Drake in it, this was the strongest and most believable villain out all of them. Now for the cons.

The story, while simple in its premise and checks off the boxes for effort, doesn't seem as good as someone who loves good plots and stories would see it. It reveals alot about Chloe and Nadine, but I feel that the way they are revealed and shown can be awkward and a bit forced. They also follow very cliche even trite parts that made me groan and scoff at when as I hit certain points. Without saying any spoilers, it was incredibly stupid and just trying to give fanservice more than staying true to its own sources. Another issue is the first act; at first it starts out strong but after the opening level in India to the big open are to explore, the pacing and enjoyment went down more and more until I was bored halfway through the giant level. Naughty Dog, you make beautiful landscapes, but save yourselves the trouble of constantly backtracking and going to places and making combat have no depth to it as we explore the ruins. It just felt like major padding and was considerably bloated as a result. The second act is a bit better, but suffers from alot of climbing and puzzle sections with a dash of Chloe falls off something, grabs a conveniently placed ledge scattered in about 10 times. Sorry to be a broken record, but it was boring and was lacking major action moments that wouldn't pick up until the final act. Overall, it was okay and only one great moment that was already in a previous game that did it better on top of that was my big takeaway.

Maybe that's the problem with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy: it uses fanservice as a bait switch for players to lose their minds over things and nods they knew before instead of really going above and beyond to make it a standalone experience. I understood that this was originally was suppose to be a much smaller DLC, so it's good the game is 8-10 hours long (you don't normally get that with a story expansion much anymore) but the greatness in that trek was very limited. Fans will buy this and acclaim it all they want, but as a critic I feel the need to stand up to nostalgic rose tinted glasses trite and look at my enjoyment mixed with the flaws and improvements the game has that deserves to be judged on its own merits. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a good expansion story and is a recommendation for fans of Uncharted, but for any other onlooker, this is a definite wait for sale or "rite of passage" by playing the four Uncharteds before you have any reason to try this. It doesn't push new ground unfortunately but stays solid enough where it keeps itself firmly in place.

I had my doubts reading reviews talking about the new leads being able to carry the torch from here if wanted, but Chloe and company proved themselves worthy. I had my doubts about this shorter, more iterative expansion being worth the potential $40 price tag, but in the end I came away with a wide grin, feeling it's worth every penny. Well done, Naughty Dog. Even your side projects stand above the crowd.

It is a fantastic game. It is a shame that it is a console exclusive title because the quality Naughty Dog delivers time and time again is unrivaled. Highly recommend it to anyone who like action adventure, fantastic game play and great story.

Near the end of the game there is a setpeice that is arguably the best setpeice in all of uncharted. There are also awesome moments that have never been seen in uncharted before. The game mechanics are mostly all from Uncharted 4, yet this game goes back to uncharted roots, making it feel almost more like uncharted 2 than 4, which is super refreshing. The story is not as impactful as uncharted 4, but still amazing, and perfect for what kind of game this is, a breathtaking action experience. There are more puzzles, with more quality in this game, reminding me more on puzzles from Uncharted 2 and 3, but with a good amount of challenge. Don't let the picture of a smaller game fool you. This game stands high exceeding the quality you expect from an uncharted game, with many surprises. The one downside is the game is a little short, but this should be the last thing on your mind. I enjoyed every minute of this experience, and I'm not exaggerating at all. Expand

The game is a roller coaster of fun. It has moments where it shines, and other times where it feels like a grind just to get to the next area. Part of that is lack of fluid combat areas, but in the end, you're getting an Uncharted experience.

But upon further analysis, I found that The Lost Legacy adds a lot more depth to the characters of Chloe and Nadine specifically. Where Uncharted 4 made Nathan Drake feel like a real human being, The Lost Legacy does the same with Chloe and Nadine. From the beginning they are in conflict with one another and as the game progresses their developing relationship reveals new personalities gamers have never seen from these characters. Asav also is a great character, he is both menacing and has a lot of depth. He makes it very clear what he believes in. There is also another major character that comes as a really nice surprise later on in the game. This character contributes to some of the most entertaining moments in the game and helps add to the development of Chloe and Nadine's relationship. So while the story and characters take a lot of inspiration from Uncharted 4, the environments and set pieces take a lot of inspiration from Uncharted 2. Of course the core gameplay is the exact same as Uncharted 4, but the pacing and action is much faster. You really feel like you're on a mystical adventure as you are constantly being blown away by the amazing environments. The presentation of the game is superb, half the time it feels like I'm watching a blockbuster movie. And finally the game also has some unique twists that make the ending catch you by surprise. It ends in a way that no other Uncharted game has, which I found really surprising and awesome. Overall Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the complete package. While it is significantly shorter in length than most of the main Uncharted games, it easily holds up to the same level of quality. It is a must buy. Expand

This game follows uncharted 4's mechanics, but everything is better, climbing actually gets me excited about where I'm heading next, rope swinging actually has that "ooh" factor and is not just there to propel you to the next piece of land, the story is good and the villain is second only to Lazavaric in this series. The level design is just as good as in uncharted 4. The puzzles are decent, mostly trial and error but typical uncharted puzzles. Set pieces feel fresh to me, and I genuinely didn't knew when that next ledge was going to break off (that I did in uncharted 4). Basically this is uncharted 4, but they decided to inject some uncharted 2 into it as well. They took everything from uncharted 4 and polished it to perfection. Even Sam has personality in this game and was not as generic than in 4. I also liked the open world level, simple but addicting puzzles made it worth it finish everything on the map. I also still enjoy the multiplayer very much ( it feels like 3/4 uncharted with 1/4 inspired by tlou's mp). It looks like im talking down uncharted 4, but I liked that game a lot (i gave it a 9); it's just this game feels so much more polished and fresh with a hint of uncharted 2. The only con I can think of is that it can be quite short to some (no open world/multiplayer/ treasure hunting) and your looking at maybe an 6-8 hour game. Regardless, it's a must-play from me, especially if you love action-adventure games. Expand

So when I first heard about The Lost Legacy and the fact that it will not have Nate in it I was worried the game will not deliver up to standards we got used to from Naughty Dog. But I shouldn't have worried as the developers have done it again, they created an other masterpiece.
This time around the protagonist in the game is a fan favorite, Chloe, who appeared alongside Nate as an NPC in Uncharted 2 and 3. She is an outsanding character and well deserved to star in her own game. Her co-op partner in this adventure is Nadine, who actually fought against Nate and his brother Sam in Uncharted 4 as a mercenary for hire, but this time around she fights on the right side. The two female leads are a great dynamic duo and the story is interesting and fun, plus the main bad guy, Asav, is also a worthy opponent. He is smart, patient, strong and ruthless.
Without spoiling too much, our treasure hunters are after a special tusk in India and you spend most of your time in the jungle, where you enter ancient cities and discover new findings in the rich history of this huge country.
What I love about this game is that Chloe moves differently from Drake and she also has some new weapons and melee moves. I really enjoyed the fighting in this one. There is a lot of platforming and some puzzle solving but mostly it is perfectly paced and the gameplay has enough variety. The controls are smooth and as expected from an Uncharted game, the presentation, graphics, motion capture, music, sound and voice acting is just flawless.
The final level in the game is one I will never forget, it starts with a bang and finishes even stronger. There is simply nothing to complain about the game for me, it has a large open world in chapter four where you can ride around in a jeep freely and solve tasks in any order you want, you can ride an elephant, complete missions using stealth or go in guns blazing, the environments are beautiful, the level designs are extremely well made and it has that unique Uncharted feel, the feeling only this franchise can create. My game of the year thus far.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Naughty Dog brings us a lengthy DLC, from the Uncharted series featuring a story following the events of Uncharted 4 with Chloe and Nadine. You take control of Chloe in this case; as she is on the hunt for the Tusk of Ganesh, and tries to beat a war lord by the name of Asav. Who is in the middle of a war himself. The lost legacy takes place in India, which is great because it is a new location. But 90% of it takes place in a jungle like all of the other Uncharted games (a change of scenery would be nice in this series).

In the beginning of the game, we see the characters struggle to trust each other and work together. As the story continues we find out a little bit more about the history of the characters. Especially Chloe, and who her father was. Come to find out she is finishing what her father began. Nadine's story is a bit different and is satisfying to find out what has happened to her and shoreline, and how she acquired the organization. The characters seem to get closer as the story progresses with some minor bumps along the way.
Lost Legacy is a great expansion of the series and I hope to see a full triple A title featuring these two characters in the future.

These elements should have been for Nathan Drake and gang, and those alone.

While Nadine and Chloe are "gang" (well Chloe at least), the tone and style should have been theirs and theirs alone. Instead we received the Uncharted treatment for a title that was going on to take over the franchise with. I don't expect future titles to be the Nadine/Chloe show, but I expect those titles to be their own entity alone, one that forges new ideas and Uncharted tropes; otherwise it's all Nathan Drake clones from now on, and for that they should just continue him as the lead.

I found the music/dialogue/gameplay/graphics to be something from Uncharted 4, which is a wonderful thing. The only issue is the above mentioned recycling. The car moments for example, they are the exact same thing as UC4. Combat was the same as well. Sure they are all super fun to do, but I just did all that about a year ago.

Take the lost legacy for what it is; the bigger-than-DLC it is, but treat it as a cautionary tale. If the series does not change or become something different, then all we are getting:

Is skinned Nathan Drake clones in the form of new games.

Let's hope it does not come to this.

The Sam drake of this adventure is Nadine who accompanies you on your journey for a 50% cut of course…
As this game is about 2 ladies, there’s a few dashes of girl power here and there, but thankfully it doesn’t get too flannel protest purple hair in your face about it
its promotes women empowerment in a very natural and unforced way… which is appreciated
After a lengthy and slow tutorial setting up the story, the game wastes no time getting right into the action
Your literally thrown into what feels like the middle of any other uncharted game…
This entire standalone could be summarized as just that..
The middle 6 hours of an uncharted game...
There’s no slow build up, there isn’t that much character development aside from giving Chloe some depth. There is no crazy over the top ending here, it feels like 6 hours were just plucked out of a proper numbered uncharted game...
That isn’t necessarily a bad thing… but it isn’t necessarily a good thing either as it will leave you feeling a bit unsatisfied by the end of it all… like this title is just a teaser…
As an uncharted 4 expansion this game plays just like uncharted 4
though there are far fewer gun fights, this title is very platformer heavy with a dash of driving towards the beginning and some car combat towards the end
The driving is still just as simple, you can’t do crazy things with it and this open area still feels a bit linear, but it does the job of getting you from point a to b..
then it’s your job to take out enemies either by stealth or with guns and solve some pretty simple puzzles…
then towards the middle of the game it’s even more platforming focused with rarely any fights at all, doing really cool and sometimes challenging puzzles, like counting platforms to activate a switch and make sure you don’t get knocked off, or aligning shadows to objects on a wall.. Though the game will of course give you clues if you get stuck
The game is breath taking at times, but there were no moments that really blew me away or got my heart pumping…
The gun fights are just there... not really exciting either
The greatness here comes in the way characters interact with eachother, it comes in your hatred for this games villain
Theres so much charm here, the game pokes fun at itself in ways to let you know the devlopers are listening to feedback from players and reviews
The world is believable, its feels alive, the animation and attention to detail is some of the best ive ever seen..
This campaign won’t blow you away... theres nothing memorable here…
But it doesn’t take away from the fact that this is still an extremely solid game with or without the name uncharted attached to it…
This game hints at possible sequels, they may not be from naughty dog, but by the games end I liked Chloe and Nadine enough to want to see this partnership continue…
The game also gives you access to the uncharted 4 3rd person shooter multiplayer modes and adds a survival mode where you take down waves of enemies that have new challenges each time like only melee or head shots, or enemies drop grenades
Uncharted multiplayer isn’t quite my cup of tea, but its decently enjoyable and helps the lost legacy feel even more like a complete package
    Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece…
And this title expands that masterpiece borrowing its mechanics of stealth, shooting, rope swinging, sliding, platforming and climbing, with new characters that are almost as fun to play as and spend time with as Nathan drake was..
This is a solid standalone, and it’s a standalone in every sense of the word...
You could start from here if you wanted to, you might be lost on a few references but everything would make sense
which makes me believe even more sequels are on the way
I give Uncharted the Lost Legacy
    an 8/10

Value should be reflected in the score. This game is a horrible value at 40 dollars and reviews not addressing that are being dishonest. - A LOT of cliché moments. I liked Uncharted much more when Amy Hennig was leading it.
    - Nadine is simply a bad character. She is in no way believable and is usually annoying. Also I am sorry, but her body posture and the way she is animated looks like a man. Women martial artists don't move that way. Why does Chloe move like a woman and Nadine doesn't? It was obvious people didn't like Nadine and for some reason ND didn't address anything and just doubled down.
    - The last fight was simply ridiculous. There is over the top and then there is just stupid. It was so ridiculous it even made Chloe, which is a character people liked look like a bad character. Give them a knife. Women don't get punched and elbowed in their completely different structure jaws like that, by a bug guy and pop back up. Modern Lara Croft who is more believable, doesn't fight straight up. She uses crowbars and anything at her disposal to try to and even the odds if she is at a disadvantage.

Neil Druckmann said that diversity is as important as gameplay and graphics to Naughty Dog now. Welp, this is the result. Far less than half the campaign, 3/4 of the price, with annoying characters. Last of Us 2 will be a hard pass for me. If God of War is bad then I am done with consoles. Naughty Dog was the only reason I had one to compliment my gaming PC and if Neil Druckmann represents the whole company I want no part of their games anymore.

Uncharted The lost legacy is a standalone DLC for Uncharted 4, and is the first game in the franchise that doesn’t have you playing has Nathan Drake. This time around you play as Chloe Frazer, from Uncharted 2, who travels back to her homeland of India in search of the Tusk of Ganesha. She’s joined by Nadine Ross, who’s lost control of her paramilitary organisation ‘Shoreline’ after her run in with the Drake brothers, and needs the money to get it back. Together the two of them must find the tusk before Asav, an Indian warmonger whose selling Indian artefacts to fund his private army.
The gameplay is pretty much the same as Uncharted 4. When going into an area filled with enemies there are locations for you to hide and plan your attack. You can sneak around the area and stealthily take down your enemies. You can go in guns blazing, or you can do a combination of both. When you do get into a gunfight you’ve got a lot of weapons to choose from. Just like in the previous games, you pick up weapons from dead bad guys, and they include pistols, automatics, shotguns and explosives. In some areas you’ll find locked weapons boxes, which Chloe can open with her lock pick, containing new guns and explosives. Melee combat also feels smoother than before, as Chloe is a lot more agile than Nathan Drake.
The enemy AI is competent. I played the game on moderate difficulty, just to get through it quickly for this review. Even on this difficulty they will flank you, snipers are extremely accurate with their shot, and enemies will flush you out of cover with grenades and rpgs, with a little hand to hand combat thrown into the mix. However, there were a few occasions when I was sneaking through an area, and Nadine would come out of cover in plain sight, and not get noticed.
The game was optimised for the PS4 pro, but even though I was playing on a standard PS4 I could see the graphical improvements in certain parts of the game. A lot of detail went into creating every location, and you’ll find yourself taking pictures with Chloe’s camera phone often (which I’m sure is the developers way of getting you to stop and appreciate their hard work).
As with the previous games, The lost legacy’s biggest strength is its story telling. At first Chloe and Nadine don’t trust each other, but need to work together to get what they want. As you progress through the campaign, you’ll find out about both characters back story through cut scenes and conversations they have with each other. This was done through flashback missions in the previous games, so it was good to see that they found a new way of handling this in a shorter game. My only criticism is with the villain. Asav is a decent villain, who you’ll see switch to a complete nutter when you get into a fight with him, but my issue with him is he’s hardly in the game. He appears 3 or 4 times, including the final boss fight, which for me wasn’t enough. This is probably because I’m used to getting to know all the characters through a 20+ hour story in each of the previous games.

As always, playing the lost legacy feels like you’re starring in a movie. From the intense gunfights, to the action packed chase scenes, it feels like you’re staring in your own summer blockbuster. Playing has Chloe is fun, and feels a lot like Uncharted’s version of Lara Croft, but I was disappointed that I didn’t also get to play has Nadine. The puzzles felt a lot easier than in previous games, but I didn’t mind because it meant I could get back to the action much quicker. The multiplayer from Uncharted 4 is included, and although I’m not a fan of the multiplayer, it’s a nice bonus considering the game only costs £25. Unlike the previous games, I actually want to give it a replay and get all achievements, due to its 8 hour playtime not taking a big chunk out of my busy schedule. Hopefully we’ll see a sequel to this game where you get to play as Nadine, or maybe another side story starring Sam and Sully.

I rated 6/10 because the story and storytelling is subpar and feel very forced. While Claudia Black and Laura Bailey (VA of Chloe and Nadine), definitely need to be praised for their fantastic performance. The characters however, are unlikable and can't possibly be more egoistic. Chloe constantly acts like that annoying boss, while Nadine ego is bigger than that of Donald Trump. The pair has some chemistry, but it's ultimately overshadowed by the overpowering crap, they're too perfect in combat, too badass that make you feel like you're playing an Anime game with a teenage girl that can slaughter everybody with Her mega gigantic battlehammer!
Unlike Tomb Raider/Rise of Tomb Raider, where she gets beaten, get overpowered by someone else, get tricked, yet still fighting for it, cuz she's strong and smart, her character is also genuinely nice and very well developed! That's how you made a compelling realistic and grounded story!
In short, if you want a game with female lead, PLAY Rise of the Tomb Raider! instead of this **** It pains me to say it cuz i'm a huge Uncharted fan, but it's what it is.
Overall, the only top quality from this game is the level designing, the graphical details that they put in it and the amazing set pieces, it def ranked among the best in Uncharted franchise. Too bad that the bad writing pulled back all of this amazing things.

This surprised me a bit. Definitely a lot more enjoyable than I expected, with a much better sense of fun and adventure than Uncharted 4 (which seemed a bit too grim at times). The comparisons to Tomb Raider are even more unavoidable now, but seriously... the guys working for Square Enix should be taking notes from The Lost Legacy. The recent Lara games have been too gritty and dark on the whole with her being punished most of the time instead of enjoying a globe trotting adventure. Lost Legacy's heroines actually have a good time, there's a great rapport between Chloe and Nadine, with some pretty funny dialogue and good character building over the course of the story.

It takes place in deepest India, with Chloe exploring her past as well in this one. For the most part you're climbing, driving and shooting your way through beautiful Indian jungle levels. A highlight is the semi-open world section where you're searching for artifacts in your surprisingly sturdy jeep, much bigger than the Africa section in Uncharted 4 and packed with a lot more things to uncover. The puzzles found hidden away in the various temples are nicely varied, with some being time-based and others making you consider where you're standing pretty carefully if you don't want your head chopped off. I'm glad this is the bulk of the game, since exploring these lush environments has always been one of the best parts of Uncharted.

Of course, as usual there's an evil ethnic bloke with a private army who is also out to get the treasure you're seeking. Thankfully you don't get into the Tomb Raider problem of fighting huge waves of enemies. Building on the solid design choices in Uncharted 4, the enemy encounters all offer a good variety in how to approach them, with stealth being more viable than ever due to the much more intricate level design. The grappling hook is a joy to use as always, even if we still seemingly can't use its club mode in singleplayer. A nice new addition is the combo moves with your partner in adventuring Nadine, where she'll help you finish off an enemy with a roundhouse kick.

While some might miss Nathan Drake, you'd be missing out if you didn't give this a chance. It's admittedly a smaller in scope game, but it puts bigger efforts like "Rise of the Tomb Raider" to shame in several areas, and I had a lot more fun playing this than I did the overlong and over-serious Uncharted 4.

    Definitely recommended.

As a standalone game - it's good, but lacks fresh ideas - you have same mechanics, same combat style, very familiar episodes of evading armored vehicles, fights with "boss", the same types of enemies, etc. The most disappointing thing is the fact that the game became easier even on max. difficulty. Stealth is not necessary at all (except for the episode with the armored vehicle) You can beat everyone just by taking the right position. Puzzles are a little bit more difficult than in original U4, but still disappointingly easy. You don't need more than two or three minutes even for the most difficult one.

Still, it's a perfect addition to Uncharted collection, which allows you to spend another 3-4 evenings with familiar characters in unforgettable setting. 9/10

    Plus:
    - Stunning visuals and the setting with lots of detaiils.
    - Good concept of open-world-like part
    - Good storytelling, which is easy to believe in
    - All the best you can find in the whole series

    Minus:
    - No fresh ideas or mechanics
    - Open-world is actually empty - it's a bright concept, no more
    - Downgraded difficulty (even on max settings)
    - Still very easy puzzles (but some are really interesting in it's concept, though)
    - No fresh ideas in action scenes (like pursuits, etc.)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game feels like a re-hash of Uncharted 4 but without any charm at all. Chloe and Nadine are two of the biggest backstabbers in the series. They start out hating each other from the beginning in this game and I keep wondering why they are going after this artifact at all especially when Nadine made off with millions in pirate gold at the end of Uncharted 4. Nathan Drake wanted to discover his roots with Sir Francis Drake and that gave him a motivation that is non-existent here. There is no humor, a weak mission and for those who say Nate is not missed, I greatly disagree. I also do not understand why this new development team for the Uncharted series want to design the characters looking much older and unattractive. I think that Elena and Nate looked awful in Uncharted 4. Nadine was never attractive and was a royal pain in Uncharted 4 but Chloe was hot in Uncharted 2. In this game she is not hot at all and goes out of her way to reassure Nadine that Nate is "out of the picture". I feel like they made this game just to get my money and fortunately, the game was given to me as a present because I was very reluctant to buy another Uncharted game full of old characters who don't really know what they are doing or why except Chloe who says she needs money. Money alone is always a bad motivator. Expand

However, this time around the primary characters are a little more human, a little less chest-puffing action hero, which was a welcome upgrade in tone. Voice acting and script are excellent throughout.

Since this basically an overgrown DLC, there are no substantial changes to the core game mechanics of ledge-climbing and rotating-pattern puzzles, and no change to your combat pattern of "stealth killing until the stealth screws up, then start shooting". There's a new (but underused) lock-picking mechanic that is just like every other lock-picking you ever saw. The other standard tropes of the genre are present, from "ledge that collapses when you grab it" (which the game leans on just a little too often) too "just narrowly escaping by running from collapsing ancient city"; the bad guys are still trying to dynamite their way to treasures. etc etc.

It's all still tremendously engaging, thanks to the stunning environments and characters brought to life by excellent voice work & script. Where the game falls flat is in some of the repetitive later battles, and a final boss that is little more than a series of quick time events.

My playthrough was ten hours on hard mode (including the Queen's Ruby side-quest), which is not great value for the sticker price, but I received the game as a free download for the U4 deluxe pack, making that a much better value item so thank you Naughty Dog.

The Lost Legacy is not as great as a real new part in the Uncharted series, but as an insanely expansive stand-alone DLC it's more than successful. We will always miss Nathan Drak, but hopefully Uncharted will continue in this form for a long, long time.
