Needless to say what a beautiful game it is as everybody keep saying here. This is how a game with a movie-like experience should be unlike the order 1886 or quantum break. Period.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 is undoubtedly the most well crafted game in the series, however it lacks the set pieces that the series is known for

Story:the story is easily the best in the series, however it does make some plotholes in the series. Such as marlowe not mentioning sam when she was going through drake's history. the villain(s) (rafe and nadine) are the best in the series. However rafe not letting nadine go at the end of the game made no sense since he would have gotten more of the treasure for himself which ultimately led to his death. Speaking of that the death of rafe isn't as brutal or as cool as the previous villain deaths in the series (having treasure fall on him). And as shockign as rafe revealing that he freed sam i still don't know why didn't nate just look up hector alcazar or the prison breakout overall the story is a 9.5/10

Gameplay:The shooting is much improved and the hand to hand combat is very satisfying. However as good as the gameplay is it is set aside for storytelling and character development. The game lacks the set pieces that the series is known for,for example in uncharted 2 you have a helicopter chase, jump out of a falling building, climb up a train,go through a train, escape from security guards however in uncharted 4 you just escape a collapsing tower and fall down a tower so overall i give it an 9/10

Sound/music :good as ever however it isn't very intense overall it's a 9/10

Graphics:Phenomenal amazing the facial animations, the lighting, the graphics the enviroments amazing 10/10

overall:it is either the best or the second best in the series so the final score is a 9.3/10

The game would have been a perfect 10 if not for the pacing issues especially on Act 3 of the single player campaign. The story is a tad bit predictable but neatly wraps up Nathan Drake's story in a memorable way. Loved the game.

A mixture of aesthetically map and story design influence from the previous games; the plane, the boat, caves, water diving, stones, treasure collectibles etc. Nathan drake, Samuel Drake, and Victor Sullivan go on the hunt for Henry Avery’s 400 million dollar lost pirate treasure, but first they must find the lost Island of Pirate utopia. The Game tells more narrative story, puzzle cyphering then actual action gameplay, however their is still a lot of action in the game just not as much Uncharted 2 Among Thieves and Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception. The Game is more in the likeness of Drake’s Fortune when talking about mood for the game. With saying that their is a much more narrative story then Drake’s fortune and other 2 releases which is a good thing. On the gameplay side the new aim lock target is very awesome, in which the cursor is bigger and more hardened when locked and as usually lights up red when locked and ready for fire. The game also has picture mode so you as the player can now take in game framed pictures of Drake, even though we have the share factory on PS4 it’s still a great feature by hitting down on the sticks and capturing to just share your photo instantly. The Maps are big ranging from 40 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes and the campaign has a prologue, 22 chapters, and a epilogue chapter going into the future years after the final chapter. All and All Uncharted 4 was the game i was waiting for and I’m thrilled with the results. I do believe this is the final chapter in Nathan Drake’s Career and the end of a generation but it went off in a bang. Thank You Naughty Dog for another brilliant story. 9.9/10 Expand

The story is not quite as powerful as The Last of Us but it's still miles better than 99% of other games. I will be selling my copy on now that I've completed it, but it's well worth the ride- basically it's another really well-made 15 hour movie you play through. You don't need to have played the previous games but it will make it more meaningful if you do- although sitting through all of them back to back would be too much. I would recommend getting the Nathan Drake collection, playing through those at your own pace and then waiting a while and getting this when it's a bit cheaper. Expand

A great movie, but still, less interactive than I would like. A few of the missions felt like I had not actually played anything during them, and instead just watched a movie. It is like a Metal Gear Solid game, but the cutscenes make sense and are really interesting and engaging. So, I'm really enjoying this piece of entertainment, but it is in a different way than I'd expected. Still well worth the price, as everything is in the top notch of quality, and the content duration is akin to a 3-6 part movie series, gameplay aside. My favorite part of the gameplay is the puzzle solving, something I also really enjoyed in the previous games. There are few experiences to be had in gaming like this one, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Expand

There are a few annoying things that naughty dog hasn't ironed out of this game. Like their previous games, they often rely on slowing the player down by trapping them and forcing them to look for boxes to stand on. It gets a little old. The hints are useless and annoying and once activated never stop flashing on the screen, which can become infuriating since they don't help and repeat things the NPCs are also saying repeatedly. Just turn off hints. Look it up if you're that stuck. And finally, the dialogue can get pretty cheesy and some of the twists are a bit predictable. These are all minor complaints that dont detract to much from the game but keep it from reaching 10/10.

Uncharted 4 is a great game. It has it's own flaws in terms of repetitive gameplay but for me this the best game in the series. The graphics and level design are amazing. Sure, you can beat the game in 20 hours, but you can easily spend another 20 hours exploring the world around you. Not just searching for collectibles, but looking at the details, enjoying the views and making screenshots. This game is one the most beautiful games I've played in my life (another being Witcher 3). I'm still half way through the story, so I might update my score later, but so far it's looks interesting, with a lot of great characters. Lots of improvements compared to U3.

The swan song that the franchise deserves, Uncharted 4 wraps up Nathan's story as well as answers questions that long time fans have been asking over the years. A bitter-sweet end to one of my favorite action adventure games, but one that left me satisfied with an ending that I'm grateful for.

In Uncharted 4 we find an aging Nathan who has retired from his treasure hunting day job along with now wife: Elaina Fisher. Since the events from Uncharted 3, the two have given up on the danger and adventure for a life of legitimacy. It quickly becomes clear that Nate's "adventures" working in salvage can't quite replace uncovering the riches of the world's most legendary treasures. So when Nate's brother Sam shows up after being presumably dead for the last 15 years, and explains that he can only regain his freedom with the treasure of 17th century pirate, Henry Avery, the two set out for one final adventure.

The attention to detail and mastery of lighting here is ridiculous
Everything in this game is in real time.
Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece in that it's currently the best looking game I have seen on the Playstation 4 thus far. Much like my initial reaction to Naughty Dog's The Last of Us from a few years back, Uncharted 4 is now the game to beat in terms of graphic fidelity on the Playstation 4. From its minute details in vegetation; the effect that wind and water have on hair-and-clothing; to the pores on Nate's face, the attention to detail in this game is phenomenal. As expected, there are still plenty of set pieces to show off here with dynamic backdrops, living environments, and elaborate level designs. With a cast of cautious and matured characters, the game is grounded in a more realistic aesthetic. This shifts the game to a more serious tone rather than the lighthearted feel of the series's first three games. With a more serious approach, I felt it easier to empathize with Nate and the predicament he finds himself in. Nate is at a crossroads, and must make some very difficult choices concerning his life and the people he cares about.

Variety seems to be the theme among Uncharted 4's mechanics. You are encouraged to switch between play styles in not only combat but while making your way through the chapter as well. For many players in previous installments, melee combat became mashing square to attack followed by mashing triangle to counter-attack. Rinse and repeat to clear virtually any area of enemies (difficulty willing of course) creating a stagnant experience. Instead, you are told to roll out of attacks DarkSouls style, mashing triangle only when grabbed. This change alone opens up combat for a more varied play-style, encouraging quick changes between melee attacks, gunfire, and now more opportunity for stealth maneuvers. New items are introduced to Nate's arsenal as well, adding depth and variety not only to combat, but to traversal. Combined with seamless transitions between animations, the result is fluid and fast paced gameplay with your choice of how to approach your target.

With the addition of the grappling hook and the piton, or pick, comes new ways to get around through the game's many environments. This often results in multiple routes to the end goal depending on your play-style. These items also add a new layer of depth to the game's puzzles and trials. Stealth is now a valid option for clearing large portions of chapters if you choose. Nate has no problem sneaking around or diving behind crates and walls to quietly take out foes with refined controls reminiscent from The Last of Us. Your partner's AI capability is also carried over here aiding you in combat, they will even take out a foe or two quietly if it means they are close to blowing your cover. To further aid in stealth, tall patches of grass were added, allowing Nate to keep low and quickly sneak past groups of enemies unseen. This doesn't slow Nate down or break the pace of combat as much as you may think as this mechanic was clearly designed with Nate's speed and agility in mind.

    What would Drake say?
What would Drake say in this situation?
Despite its deserved praise, unfortunately no game is without flaws. A feature that I was looking forward to was the idea of player choice within dialogue. The feature is used four times: three times in the beginning of the game; with the fourth within an optional conversation and then seemingly abandoned with no difference in outcome, story, or gameplay. The addition of player choice or even multiple endings would have been a nice break from the familiar linear progression we are used to in the Uncharted franchise. Without

    Pros:
    1. Graphics, awesome, just plain nice, every screen, very detailed work there.
    2. Story line is complete, and from this episode, we finally KNOW Nathan Drake, the whole character is finally complete. And most important, Naughty Dog is always good at making dilemmas, whatever in the character decisions or relations, we have known this in the Last of Us for the decisions that Joe made. This time, a new dilemma, Sam. This guy is not a good guy but also not bad. To Nathan at least for now I played, he's the big brother, to Sam, Nathan is the only one that he can trust, but look at what he brought to his beloved brother, almost annihilation to his life, is Sam revenging Nathan for his leaving in Panama? Let's see.
    3. Shooting aiming assist improved a lot, someone may think it's like cheat (similar to GTA5), for me, it's definitely big leap ahead, I can focus on story, action and tactic stuff, not my clumsy aiming skills.
    4. Action phase is more intense, and character model react to environment got a lot improvement, comparing to The Last of Us. Everything is just so smooth, you felt that is Nathan's world and he was there.
    5. The sound track, intense or soft, perfect melt in.

    Cons:
    1. Still some little bugs there, if no clue, you may need to restart checkpoint or just die and reload again, not big ones.
    2. Not fully open world game actually, I consider GTA5 and Far Cry as open world games, which means the entire map will be loaded once and for all time, UC4 is like partial open world, some of the chapter will have a open world map but not all the chapters.
    3. Sometimes the action parts are too much cinematic and dramatic, which makes you feel a little bit fake.

Anyway, Naughty Dog did a very good job again, its games basically are the reasons that I dived into SONY's consoles, and it's worth it. Way to go and well done.

From Nate and Elena's cluttered home, full of interactive trinkets collected from previous adventures, to the wholly believable relationships with the other cast of characters (acted to absolute perfection), this game hits a more personal note than previous entries. Considering performance, the game is impeccable. The presentation, acting (again), score, and visuals are all some of the best I've ever witnessed in the medium. The only thing holding me from giving the game a 10 is its pacing. It's paced extremely well for the most part, but there are segments that can tend to drag a bit. This may be intentional, as Naughty Dog is obviously trying to convey a more reserved and reluctant hero. Regardless, this is an exceptional experience, a tour dé force in interactive storytelling, and a fitting end to arguably the most well-known and loved cast of characters in the entire Playstation library. Seeing the characters that I have spent nearly 10 years with on screen again is a bittersweet joy as this may be the last time they appear in an Uncharted game (Sony will undoubtedly continue the franchise sans Drake)

The gameplay has seen a vast improvement over past games as well, cover and shooting feels great and the traversal mechanics are even better and more fluid. Having recently replayed the Nathan Drake collection on PS4 it's immediately apparent how much Naughty Dog has learned from and improved upon those games as well as from The Last of Us. There are issues, I've had a couple of moments where the AI has walked into walls etc and there are more than a few frustrating combat encounters where the game balance feels unfair but nothing has detracted from my experience to the point where I've wanted to stop playing. I feel like the sliding mechanic is a bit over used as well and while the grapple hook is an excellent addition to the game, it sort of makes you wonder why Nathan never brought it along in his past adventures, especially since it's used in an earlier flashback so it's not like it was a new concept to him.

I've also played a little of the Multiplayer and while as per previous games it is just a light distraction from the main game, I have had a lot of fun - me and my Sister have enjoyed many hours in the multiplayer in Uncharted 3 and I think the same will prove true of this game as well. I've seen some people complaining about the way appearance items are given out, while the whole micro-transactions thing is getting a little old now I don't think this is any worse than how a game like Team Fortress gives out items and I think it's quite a cool way to keep people playing the game, I've only played a few matches but I've already unlocked a couple of new characters and some amusing accessories.

All in all I am having a great time with Uncharted 4, it feels to me like an excellent send off for he franchise. But I can't say I'm not completely unbiased as a fan of the series but I thought I'd give my opinion on the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 9/10 would be my final, and honest, rating for this amazing game. I finished it yesterday and I have to say that it is probably my favorite Uncharted game with U2 really close in 2nd place. People who are posting "0's" for this game have either had a momentarily mental lapse in judgement or are just being horribly bias towards this sony exclusive. That is what's wrong with the user scores for game's like this because people justify their outrageously high or low score because they feel like the other reviews didn't justify their own opinion. Listen to the critic scores with this one because there is just an immature flaming party going on here...
Anyways, This game had just about everything you would come to expect from an uncharted series and more but I felt like it suffered a but from the main director being replaced. She had a style for these games that was apparent in the past installments but is nearly absent here. Sorry, trying to be vague not to spoil anything. If you guys really enjoyed U1-3 go buy this now because it's unforgettable or you can just wait until Tomb Raider 3 will come out and borrow even more concepts making it merely just a clone of U4.

Uncharted 4 is a landmark title that anyone remotely interested in interactive storytelling should invest in. Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar across the industry. Thrilling shootouts, a staggering level of detail, breathtaking visuals and emotional depth come together to make Uncharted 4: A Thief's End a must-play masterpiece.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
