Great game, story and graphics, hard to fault maybe a little to much climbing and gunfire could be slightly improved, but still a great conclusion to the series.

Good game, graphics are amazing. Story is pretty engaging as well.

In the negative corner, I did not like the interaction between nathan and elena. She could literaly boot his ass six ways from sunday but he still treats her like a china doll he must protect and it gets really annoying. If your rolling your eyes and thinking 'another femenist complaint in a game?' I encourage you to

overall though i loved the game as a whole

This is a stunning entry into a fantastic series. Naughty dog have further refined their winning blend of adventure, dialogue and gameplay. In addition to this they have crafted a game unrivalled in its beauty.

This is a fitting end to the story of Nate and is told with such style grace and nostalgia. Adventures don't come better than this in video games.

Uncharted 4 continues in the footsteps of its predecessors, but with a slightly less linear approach and stronger character development. The graphics are amazing, the gun combat is fun, and the exploration is better than ever with the new grapple hook. A great game and a satisfying conclusion to Nathan Drake's story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 is a game that generated a stir, immediately. Many were waiting for it, others didn't think it was necessary. The important thing, as far as I'm concerned, is that it came out of a good game. A masterpiece, of course, but this doesn't mean it's perfect.

The narrative and the plot are very nice. It is strange to see the good Nathan Drake abandoned to the quiet life, to the common routine of everyday life. But this is the price you pay if you love someone, and if you want to make someone happy. Waived the risk, the unbridled pursuit, the adventure for Elena, the woman he loves ... and yet fails to be completely happy, because things are not supposed to be like that. The arrival of his brother, Sam, represents an escape, a new opportunity to get involved, once again, in an ultimate adventure; and it was quite predictable that the story told by Sam, about Alcázar, was a lie and nothing but a mere excuse to live an adventure with his brother. I also found this interesting similarity between the pirates of yesterday and today's pirates, those who rebel against the legal and everyday life, to find a different reason to live. This is Nathan Drake. It isn't a case of how he and Rafe eventually collide and fight with two swords, just like the pirates Avery and Tew did four centuries before, in the same place. A history of pirates. The parts of the plot acclimatized in the past of Drake, provide further revelations and seem to be very consistent, but one thing I didn't expect is the final, set in the future, with Cassie, the daughter of Elena and Nathan (one thing clearly inspired by The Last of Us). A nice ending to a good story.

Uncharted 4's gameplay is purely classic, as in previous chapters, where the only change is represented by the grappling hook, allowing, where possible, to create more dynamic fights. Classical mechanics, seem mostly improved, stealth is good, feedback of weapons works well and close combat is nice. The maps, in some sections, clearly have a much larger design, and make possible different approaches; however the game is completely driven, but I personally didn't ask much more. The sections on vehicles are well made and funny, and finally a decent boss-battle has been added, after the ridiculous "fist fight" between Nate and Talbot, in Drake's Deception. The longevity of the game is much improved compared to the third chapter, and now it seems to have really faced a long, beautiful, but tiring trip. As for the plot, the gameplay it seemed influenced by The Last of Us, and is clearly visible.

Graphically the game is spectacular and with good fluidity, seems to really push PlayStation 4. However in 2009, Uncharted 2, which pushed PlayStation 3, had no obvious fremarate declines in most messed up moments, as happens in Uncharted 4. The direction art is great and the soundtrack is quite nice.

What on which I would like to reflect, however, is the concept of "maturity" in Uncharted 4, on which Druckmann and Naughty Dog talked a lot. As is clear, the game is influenced by The Last of Us, but this is very controversial. In Uncharted 4, have been removed monsters and supernatural reference. Why? They were good, but I think Naughty Dog found them simply "nonsense things" and "childish tales" and then they decided to remove it, to give the game a bit of maturity. And no, Infected in TLOU are not the same thing. Another example is the different soundtrack's approach: there is no main theme (that I consider sacred in the saga), as if a silent menu, as in TLOU, with a skeleton in a cage, is "badass" or "more mature". I disagree with that, this is not maturity. We want to talk about maturity? Good, then why if Nate shoots an enemy in the head with a shotgun, enemy's head doesn't open like a pulped melon? And this happened in The Last of Us, a game released 3 years before on PlayStation 3. Where is the maturity in this? Where's the violence? And do not hide behind the fact that TLOU is post-apocalyptic and violent, while Uncharted is not; because in both worlds there is a thing called "matter", and if you shoot something, something will receive a noticeable damage. This is maturity, this is gameplay with physics and realism. They would have to choose better what to take from The Last of Us.

Personally, Uncharted 4 closes the saga in a great way, and I hope it is the definitive end. Among Thieves is still my favorite chapter, because it was a real change for the saga and because to be a game released in 2009 on PlayStation 3, it was extraordinary. Uncharted 4 is still higher than the first and third chapter, but Naughty Dog could learn much more from The Last of Us and let other things as they were. It's not a perfect mix, but it's a masterpiece anyway.

Uncharted 4's arguments are its graphics, and its attention to detail. Background music, background noise, beautiful interiors, light effects, characters animation, faces, dialogues. All of this is a success.

Unfortunately, those elements are obviously to the detriment of a 30fps framerate, however it will not bother the vast majority of gamers. Also, the PS4 makes a terrible noise

Also, the PS4 makes a terrible noise when running U4.
Some gameplay aspects could've been better, like infiltration phases that feel unrealistic most of the time.
There are certain moments of the story that are too predictable, but in general the scenario is good.

Multiplayer mode, which runs at 60fps, is therefore less good-looking and is very basic. All of my friends who played U4 almost ignored it.

To resume, it's a good solo game with a decent longevity and good graphics, but it remains pretty basic.

I have only got to Chapter 17, because I have exams, that is why I have not finished the game yet. But so far I am loving this game.

The plot is incredibly intriguing and the twist and turns it takes are usually quite surprising. The characters are extremely well written, Nadine and Rafe are horrible characters and you know it, Nate and Sam have incredible chemistry and the dialogue is also fantastic. Listening to conversations as you are walking through a cave or driving through Madagascar are fascinating and quite funny. But when the drama happens, it is handles perfectly.

The puzzles are challenging, but not that hard, but overall very good. The gameplay has drastically improved. My only issue with the Uncharted games is the gameplay. But Uncharted 4 has fixed this, slightly. The gun gameplay has been fixed and the addition of the grapple hook is great, but the melee combat still isn't fantastic. Its brutal and really fun, but not particularly fantastic. And the stealth isn't that great, even coming off The Last Of Us, and the cover system is a bit clunky. But overall the gameplay is really, really fun. And you feel like an absolute badass when you use the grapple hook, jump on top of someone, then kill everyone. Also the set pieces are awesome. The driving section was great, and the "open world" free roam areas were cool but I feel they could have added more puzzles or caves to explore, but still a good feature.

The multiplayer is also rather good. It's something to do after you complete the game (which I have not done yet.) And they have put a lot of effort into it, they didn't just add it for the hell of it, they really put a lot of effort into this one and it is really fun. And graphically the game is beautiful.

I do have some issues. One being the cover system, it is very clunky and sometimes getting into cover is annoying as hell. The gameplay is good, but still could be greatly improved. I feel more puzzles could be included, and more things should be added to the open world sections. Also for some reason you can't counter in certain melee combat sections, which is really dumb. And as usual the climbing isn't that great or challenging.

But overall so far the game is intriguing, well written, fun, immersive and overall captures the adventure and drama of previous Uncharted games. This really is the video game version of Indiana jones, and that is fine by me.

Does a game franchise need to be innovative to be good? No, and Uncharted 4 isn't innovative, but it uses the technology that is there and uses the technology to the max. I feel The Last Of Us gripped me and impressed me more than Uncharted 4, but as someone who loves the Indiana Jones movies and loves intriguing adventure movies and games this game is really up my alley. And as a sequel and the last game in this franchise It really is a good conclusion to one of my favourite video game franchises of all time. Hopefully the last 5 chapters don't ruin the entire game, if they do, I will kill myself.

So far I give this 9/10, but only just scraping a 9/10l

While characters and story are really polished (story is kinda redundant, though), the pace of the game is terribly bad
Some episodes are specially offensive, hours of tiring climbing and boring shooting.
Stealth is ok, but other than that the combat is flawed at high difficulties.
Granade counterattack was removed, so that, there are many cheap deaths and makes this game a lackluster.
Mature themes does not fit gameplay as the Last of Us did, specially when characters and emotions in Uncharted franchise were not meant to be serious. (There's heavy narrative ludo-dissonance here)
Set pieces are severely lacking here, i was hoping some train scene, or plane scene (i mean, some set piece at the height of the mentioned)
I still see its good points, but it's for me a 7/10

But thanks to your loyal friend and a long lost brother, you will survive all the car chases, escape from collapsing ancient buildings and solve the riddles that were left behind for those who seek fortune. Isn't that enough to convince you into playing this game?
The Uncharted series was always about cinematic action, but Uncharted 4 gives that genre a new meaning. In my opinion - this is the best game in the series and what a beautiful conclusion to Nathan's Drake story.
I played this title three times already and it always surprises me how addicting this game is. The graphics are amazing, mostly thanks to fluent character animation and breathtaking landscapes. The story is solid, well directed and with few plot twists and surprises. Henry Jackman did an amazing job and the soundtrack fits the slightly more realistic approach to Uncharted perfectly. The music is intense during action-packed scenes and calms with the lure of adventure during puzzles and exploration.
There were some changes to the gameplay as well. Apart from the linear story, there are some parts where the world opens up a bit and you can explore it just a little more. Enough to rest after some intense action, but not long enough to bore you with mindless collectible hunting. Pacing is done extremely well in this game. I collected everything and completed every challenge (apart of speedrun) and was not tired with the game.
The voice acting is also something I should mention. Nolan North does the extremely well job as Nathan Drake. He adds a lot of charms and comedy to the character. Nathan Drake is now more realistic than he ever was - still thrilled with the adventure, but a little tired of it. Nolan is now accompanied by Troy Baker, who fits perfectly as Nathan's older brother.
This is the best that linear adventure in video games can be.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
