After quite enjoying the Nathan drake collection and seeing the gameplay trailers was certain this was gonna be a complete classic. Unfortunately after the 2 hours of cut scenes you have to get through to even start the game I was already gutted. If the story was made into a film it would be totally unwatchable and does not even compare to something like National treasure 2 with Nicholas Cage.

The puzzles are completely basic and clichéd where you just twist a few symbols and some secret passage unlocks. Why no one in some of these buildings never thought to push the secret buttons before is not explained or no one cares. At one point you find a long lost tomb which is fully lit with candles?

In the brief moments when you actually control the character you are mostly climbing which requires no skill at all and you just follow the obvious path to your next tedious cut scene. Next minute you are pushing a crate around because you cant climb up a 3 meter gap even though you just previously ascended a 50 meter wall with no problem.

Gunfights are the highlight and unfortunately they are very average. Almost 20 years ago when I shot someone in the foot in Goldeneye on the N64 he hopped around and limped. In U4 you can shoot a man in the face and nothing happens because you did not remove his helmet first.. The only other objective is to collect random objects with no meaning or history to the game.

There is just so much laziness in this game and it seems that all the effort went into the graphics which are absolutely excellent at times.

Worst game ever. It offers nothing new to the franchise. Music is bland. The story is boring. Options are poor. This is the worst game i have ever played. Most people who play this are letting the previous game's in this franchise dictate how good this game is. Not worth the money i put down.

Beautiful game to look at but very little substance in gameplay, combat is average, puzzles are trivial (hey just look at these diagrams in the journal!), too much climbing and watching drake almost fall of a ledge that gets comical, very tedious you spent hours In this game climbing ledges (which is not fun or challenging)

Not once during this short campaign did i feel it was any different than the previous games. Even remakes are more original than this copy fest. Every mechanic from the previous games is copied over with no new game-play mechanics added. And wayyyy to long cinematics.

How is a game like Tomb Raider not better in every aspect?
It's the only game the PS4 has except for Bloodborne so it's kind of to be expected that people who only own that console would praise this game when in reality it is just a below mediocre rehash of a series that should have died with its first entry.

Uncharted 4 isn’t a perfect game...it runs a couple of chapters too long, some of the puzzles feel uninspired, and its multiplayer component is serviceable but largely forgettable.

That game just did not allow me to fight her and that makes me just hate her even more. She is overpowered and there is absolutly no realism in this.

    2. Not consistent character
Last fight and Nathan does not hit that second guy with a sword but with a fist!!! 3000 or more people were killed by Nathan! But at the end (and EVERYTHING we have learned about that second guy) he wants to play a GOOD guy and don't kill enemy...

    3. control while sliding on pc seems to be not working right
    4. Too much action so it is no longer suprising that something will break
    5. Bad physics while on rope and that "glue" feel
    6. I hate those cars with turrets.... so unreal when those chase you! The are stuck! But no and again! Like a stupid big dog with so unreallistic physics.
    7. You can't throw back granade
    8. You cannot move bodies

Graphics is HUGE plus! Level design and story too.
Too many repeated sections at the end - when I had that feel its over I had to climb again and again....

I just watched nadine and Chloe fight with Asav and it does not make sense...

He has a job as a recovery diver at start of the game and has the equipment available.
Why does he not just park the boat outside the cave with all the treasure in it and recover it all ?
The cave is not even deep and the entrance was just blocked by three medium sized rocks that a couple of guys with drills could remove in half a day.

A “definitive action adventure experience with a deep narrative.” People claim this game is the one of the best action games ever created. For some ungodly reason, people view this game as higher than the likes of several other games who do what Uncharted does far better than Uncharted ever could.

Whether you like or dislike Uncharted, I think we can all agree on one thing: Uncharted is vanilla. Whether or not you find the game fun and exciting, I feel that you cannot deny that Uncharted does nothing different or original from other games in it’s already generic third person shooter genre. This game may look really pretty, it may have an entertaining and engaging story, (Although personally I feel that at least with Uncharted 4, the story is nothing special at all.) but from a GAMEPLAY perspective, this game does nothing to be acclaimed as one of the best action games ever.

You shoot people. You take cover. And when you’re done shooting people, you do even more tedious climbing sections that are incredibly point A to point B. Neither form of gameplay tries to provide any sort of challenge or variety to make the game more engaging to play. Most enemies go down fairly easily and plenty of cover is given. And the platforming and the puzzles are extremely trivial, to the point where it’s almost as if the game is screaming “Go here! Do this!” at you. And if you somehow manage to die or mess up, the game is extremely forgiving. Because any sort of punishment would break your “immersion.” It doesn’t feel like a video game. It feels like the most generic, uninspired gameplay in the world thrown into a pretty, scripted set piece, where anything cool that happens happened because the game wanted it to and not because of you.

Do keep in mind that this is my opinion. If you enjoyed Uncharted 4 then good for you. I’m glad you’re satisfied with your investment. I just feel as if as a video game, Uncharted 4 deserves none of the praise that it endlessly gets.

I get this game from the new year game bag where you pay for one game and get the other three randomly so that I didn't lose too much. After all I beat the game but that's all about it. To me, Uncharted 4 is a major disappointment in many ways. First of all, some context is very important for understanding why this game is so different from the previous 3 entries in the series.
It is because Amy Hennig was originally supposed to be the writer/director of the game, but then, in a very dubious turn of events, she left the team, and alot of the work that was done was scrapped, and Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley of "The Last of Us"-fame took over development. It is unknown what exactly happened, but it seems unlikely that she would willingly discard a project she is obviously very invested in. What makes it even more shady, is that there is almost no information to be found on why she left.

It is clear, that we would have gotten a very different game, had she remained at the helm of development. As I already mentioned it is no secret that much of her work was scrapped, when Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley took over. You can go and watch the first teaser trailer (the one that features narration while the camera pans over a map), and you will see that it has nothing to do with the final game.

Alright now let's get to my review of the game we ended up getting: Simply put, it is too much Neil Druckmann, and not enough Amy Hennig. Too much "The Last of Us", and not enough Uncharted. From the bleak titlescreen, to the soundtrack that completely lacks the sense of adventure and excitement the previous games conveyed, everything is just way too drab for an Uncharted game.
But alright, let's look at it for what it claims to be. It doesn't aspire to be as grand and adventurous as the previous games. Instead it attempts to focus more on the characters, especially Nathan Drake himself. There are several problems with that.

*First of all, even as a more character focused experience, the game does not have to be as drab and lifeless as it is. It plainly lacks the energy that the other games have.

*The pacing of the game is absolutely horrendous. I never got bored with the previous Uncharted games, even after several playthroughs. They also had more story focused sequences, particularily Uncharted3 such as playing as kid Nate, or playing Nate as he wanders the desert, looking for water. But these games were made by someone who knew what pacing is. I really don't want to sound too condescending, since I do think "The Last of Us" was an expertly crafted game with great pacing, but what the hell were Neil/Bruce thinking? Uncharted 4 is straight-up boring for about half the freaking playtime. Soo many sequences are extremely tedious on the first playthrough already. And it certainly does not get better on later playthroughs. There are a lot (and I mean a lot) of sequences, that are boring as hell to play and only serve some story related purpose. Again I legitimately enjoyed these parts in the previous games (or the Uncharted trilogy as I like to call it), however here they are unbearably boring. It all harkens back to the atrocious pacing of the game. In previous games you'd have these amazing actionpacked sequences that go on for really long, so by the time the pacing slows down it is very welcome. But in 4 just as you start to get into the flow of things, it stops dead in its tracks and forces you to play some asinine storyfocused bit, where all you do is usually walk around, and also maybe climb a bit if you're lucky. It's bad.

*The shoot-outs are seperated into socalled encounters. Now here's the problem with that: In Uncharted 1-3 enemies would litter the game. There generally aren't many sequences that don't feature enemies. Even as you're just going from A to B, there are usually a couple of enemies in your way. Well say goodbye to that, cause Uncharted 4 wants to make sure you're not having too much fun. So enemies only appear in these kinda big open areas, called encounters. I really don't mind how shootouts play out here, and it's cool that they are a bit less linear, and it allows you to be stealthier than before. But there should also be enemies sprinkled throughout the levels. There are parts where you climb around for really long. and It gets very very boring. fast.

*Last but certainly not least: These are not the characters you've come to love in the trilogy. They are pale imitations at best. It seems like the writers just really don't like Nate. Nate was always a bit full of himself but he was also likable and capable of having a real conversation with his friends. In this game he maintains absolutely nothing except for the "full of himself"-part. Sully and Elena are just extremely bland. The characters you came to love over the last games are not here.

So to summarize, Uncharted 4 is a boring, heartless action adventure game, that should have never been made. It really agitates me to no end, that we never got to see the game that the clearly much more capable (at least in the realm of Uncharted games) Amy Hennig wanted to make, but here we are. Thank you for reading my review :)

One of the worst uncharted games in the series. The gameplay is non existent, jumping from one edge to another gives no challenge what so ever. The gun fights are rare and only get exciting till the end of the game. There is a lot of filler, where you just walk around.

On the good side, the graphics are great! There is alittle of an open world element when you drive the jeep around.

Uncharted 4 is a landmark title that anyone remotely interested in interactive storytelling should invest in. Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar across the industry. Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
