    Come with the tribe and stay for the grind if that’s your thing though this isn’t for everyone. Much of the game is spent either gathering or fighting until your weapons break as you beg for more souls to make the necessary upgrades and repairs to the camp. While it does offer a battle pass that’s free I’d still proceed with caution. There is a real challenge here that requires strategy but it falls short with the settings available in Survival mode for those either looking for a more brutal challenge or an easy go instead. Tribes of Midgard is best played with friends but if you’re after a game that rewards persistence then maybe you’ll find the value in solo-play too. It’s got lofty ambitions, but it doesn’t quite manage to meet them – at least not yet.

    Коротко: гра на декілька вечорів, якщо зовсім нічим себе зайняти і якщо отримали її безкоштовно. Більше часу не вартує, не кажучи вже проКоротко: гра на декілька вечорів, якщо зовсім нічим себе зайняти і якщо отримали її безкоштовно. Більше часу не вартує, не кажучи вже про гроші.

    В технічному плані гра на ps4 slim й зі стабільним домашнім інтернетом помітно й дратівливо підлагує.

    В геймплейному плані на початку гри бігати голим в пошуках гілок та каменю, а потім бігати шукати залізо, щоб могти хоть когось здолати, зовсім не весело. Шукати срібло так взагалі біль. І це ще навіть не грінд мобів, який настає потім. Отже, перед сумовитим гріндом всього живого на мапі, який хоч якось нагадує нормальний ігровий процес, треба ще достатньо часу постраждати в пошуках заліза та срібла, щоб наскрести на жалюгідний мечик, який зламається через 20 хвилин боїв. А при цьому складність атак на селище зростає з кожним циклом.

    Якоїсь цілі в ігровій сесії немає, грінд заради грінду. Й гріндиш допоки не стошнить. Це теж недолік, якщо сам процес грінду не цікавий.

    Також роздратовувала відсутність назв локацій на мапі. Береш квест в якому сказано вбити якихось мобів на певній локації. А де ця локація? В яку сторону треба бігти за мобами? Дідького його знає.

    Хоч якось додає веселощів лише гра зі знайомими в голосовому чаті. Найкраще буде, якщо збереться группа для достатнього захисту селища. В іншому випадку ніхто із рандомів не хоче кооперуватися, бо гра до цього ніяк не підштовхує і кожен поодиноко дроче мобів в різних кутках мапи. Одиночний режим зовсім якийсь жарт.    … Expand

    I would love to give this game 5 stars. It has a great concept, forcing you to make the most of each day of gameplay to progress through theI would love to give this game 5 stars. It rewards calculated risk taking (eg encouraging you to neglect your base to gather resources at night) and supports coop between 10 players, helping the game live up to its name.

    Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros;
    1. The game is very unstable, users frequently get booted from sessions due to networking issues, and it often takes several minutes to load into a world during which time the world continues to progress. This is a huge problem in survival mode where your base might come under attack while you are loading, but there's not a thing you can do about it.

    2. The character controller is clunky. Normally in an action/adventure game like this the "roll" mechanic would have some level of animation cancelling (ie allowing you to roll out of your own attack combo). Not so in Tribes of Midgard. Also, the roll mechanic doesn't prevent you from taking damage, it just moves you *slightly* faster, making it almost pointless. Also, your character can "stick" to edges (ie cliffs, etc) and disrupt your movement.

    3. The enemy attack animations are nicely telegraphed but lack variety. Most enemies have 1-2 attacks, including the Jotunn. More variety is needed.

    4. The game's mechanics reward you for playing with a group, but only if the group spreads out and plays solo. There is little incentive to stick together as most resources can only be collected by one player and each player will need their own pool of resources to craft weapons and armour. The game would be more enjoyable if true cooperative play was rewarded.

    This game should not have been released with these issues present, especially the networking issues. Save yourself the frustration of playing this game and pick up something that has completed a proper Beta test.    … Expand
