Jun 13, 2021If Tour de France 2020 looked like a small category 2 pass in the history of the license with its small novelties, Tour de France 2021 would be a false flat descending. The new title from Cyanide is really stingy in novelties, does not change its interface or the graphic aspect of the title of a gut. It even removes the online multiplayer mode and the challenge mode to further impoverish the content, despite the many support races available to the Tour (Critérium du Dauphiné, Paris-Nice, Flandrian classics ...). We will simply retain a slightly clearer MyTour mode and very coherent AI opponents compared to reality. For the rest, Tour de France 2021 is still as accessible for any cycling fan and fun in split screen, but not really worth it compared to last season.

Jun 18, 2021Tour de France 2021 remains a quite good game (accessibility, immersion, strategic options), but Cyanide risks losing credibility with its loyal fans. A graphic step is needed and the developer has to be more generous in novelties so as not to become an anonymous rider in the middle of the peloton.

Jun 15, 2021Tour de France 21 isn’t a particularly fun game to play for a neutral, but will appeal to a core fanbase, whilst giving all of us something of an appreciation of what a tough sport this is.

Jun 8, 2021The Pro Leader mode allows you to create your own cyclist, and focus on the discipline you want to specialise in, whether it’s sprinting or climbing. Levelling up is vague and feels unsatisfying, however, and the whole package lacks the layer of gloss you’ve probably come to expect from other more popular sports games. This is a surprisingly tactical title overall, though, and it does bring something different to the genre. If you’re looking for a different kind of sports game, this could be worth shaving your legs for.

Jun 14, 2021Tour de France 2021 feels so, so familiar. Whilst the upcoming 2021 tour is replicated in its entirety, there's little new here. Tweaked Peleton behaviours will improve your experience but it's an experience wrapped in the same tired engine. The license brings a lot with it but I'm still puzzled by a roster of identical riders that show a real lack of individuality. Fans will enjoy the mountain of content but it doesn't really feel fresh to me in any major way.

Jun 13, 2021Tour de France 2021 could have been a good game. But it lacks new content aside from the updated my tour mode. It's a decent game in the end however.
