Not nearly as bad as it was at launch. The immersive mode actually makes the game pretty fun. It's just a shame that the reputation was tarnished so bad at the beginning. After the last Game Update and the addition of the free DLC "Motherland" Breakpoint started to resemble Wildlands (improved and better), which worked out to be honest.
Finally, it is a game worth playing.
Congratulations Ubisoft, Ubisoft Milan and Ubisoft Paris :)

At launch the game seemed bad (I just played the demo on ps4), BUT a few weeks ago, I decided to buy the game at a discounted price for my ps5, and I feel bad for paying less for such a good game, I do not know how much it has changed since day one, but today, It is a great game that does not deserve this hatred at all.

Kudos to them for spending two entire years continuing to make large, core changes to the game, no doubt at a major financial loss, to avoid killing the IP. Expand

I find the negative attention this game has gotten to be massively unjustified and although the launch may have been rocky the game now is really solid and alot of fun to play. Episode 2 and 3 feel a little unnecessary and i wish they just combined the best elements of all 3 and made one great expansive campaign but it's still really fun just because of the great gameplay loop. Alot of the initial issues at release have been fixed and so much has been added that its almost an entirely new game. This is worth another go at playing and even though it took awhile and some issues remain this game has really come into its own and is something that will keep you engaged for dozens of hours. If this game was made by anyone but Ubisoft, most peoples view on the game would be completely different. As it stands, it does borrow so much stuff from other ubisoft titles that it does lose its way in terms of being true to its heritage.

However, that being said the game is great, amidst a large amount of bugs. The Good:- -Gunplay feels satisfying on Expert. Each shot counts.

However, that being said the game is great, amidst a large amount of bugs.

    The Good:-
-Gunplay feels satisfying on Expert. Each shot counts. Genuinely scared to tackle some drones, or pick a large fight.
-Large varied open world, always feel like something new to see and the bases are so fun to clear out or infiltrate.
-So much room for Milsim / RP narrative.
    -Really fun for coop teams.
-Story seems intriguing, whilst not anything groundbreaking its still refreshing to have compared to the last outing.
-Exploration mode.. this is probably my fave implementation.. having to recon and actually use the map to find objectives.

    The Bad:-
-Bugs. Lots of Bugs. (Hopefully will get patched soon)
-The social hub.. hate this.. I just got marooned on a hostile island, i shouldnt have to see this place covered in 50+ ghosts.
-Spongy drones.. I wish there was a way to ghost take down drones, instead of having to go loud, but I guess it does change up the gameplay.
-Always online.. I dont get why this is even a thing. Does not need to be.
-Lack of AI companions. I would like to hire a team over the course of the game or something.

Note: I didnt state that microtransactions are a bad thing, whilst they can be, I never felt in the 40+ hours of playing that I needed to buy one, at all, ever. People are blowing it out of proportion in my honest opinion.

Summary: Great open world game with alot of wiggle room for playing how you want. There is a loot system from division / assassins creed, love the inclusion of exploration mode and I feel like even just exploring the map will give most hours of fun. If the game wasnt made by ubisoft, people would give it an 8/10. I'm taking the game for what it is, how it does it and how enjoyable it is from a person who loves playing as a sniper, stealthy infiltrator. 8/10

It's too easy on the lower difficulty levels. Play it on Extreme with no mini map and the game really comes alive and becomes really immersive. Not only that, but it makes the survival, crafting and gear score elements to the game actually have meaning... they have no meaning on lower difficulty because it's too easy. On Extreme mode you can't go in guns blazing, you'll quickly get over run and die. On Extreme you really have to pre-plan and recon each "compound" you're infiltrating before you head in.

This game is pure fun to play, the guns feel satisfying to use, the graphics are beautiful on PS4 Pro, the "grind" feels rewarding and not a chore. Playing co-op with friends and even Randoms elevates the game to another level.

Microtransactions, honestly, unless you actively look for them you wouldn't even know that they're in the game. They're pointless to buy anyway. They give nobody an unfair advantage whether that be PVE or PVP... I don't agree with MTX in games, especially ones that are Pay To Win, but the ones where they're purely cosmetic items or things you can get by just playing the game then I really couldn't care less whether they're in the game or not - because I'm not stupid enough to buy them.

There are a few minor bugs, things like the distance on the objective marker would disappear, once my drone wouldn't deploy, little things like that where restarting the game fixed the problem. Nothing game breaking.

The PVP is fun, however it's only best of 3 rounds so the games don't last long, that wouldn't be a problem but the loading screens in between rounds and games are really long, so you can often spend more time watching the loading screen than actually playing! It's even more annoying when someone leaves mid game.

Really good game, can't stop playing it, I'm perplexed by the bad reviews, I really am. Like I said, if you want to experience the game at it's best, play it on Extreme difficulty, it'll feel more immersive, more of a challenge and all of the crafting, survival and gear score elements are no longer redundant like they are on the lower difficulties.

Ive really enjoyed playing the game over the last week. The storine is very engaging and easy to follow the graphics are fantastic and the gameplay is fun, allowing you to really feel like a special ops soldier. There's a huge amount of customization when it comes to the settings too, which allows you to tune the game to your exact play style, much more than just enemy difficulty. If you're wondering about trying the game out, definitely go for it. It's a lot of fun.

Feel free to disagree, but I've been playing about 12 hours and loving it. In that time I have not looked at, thought about, clicked on or acknowledged the real-money shop. Also, playing on PC, and while there are a few very minor bugs here and there (getting up ladders is hilariously broken), it is largely a smooth experience. Now, just to be clear I am NOT in favour of the existence of these egregious microtransactions, and I'm not in favour of how they have forced it into the game by introducing bullet-sponge drones to make levelling gear important.

But there's lots to like here if you can look past the sucky business practices. I'm on UPLAY+, so I didn't have to buy this, I would also like to add, and playing at a faultless 4K60fps on a 125" screen makes the visuals absolutely eye-popping. All of which I do believe makes a difference in how I feel about it. I'm actually enjoying this a lot – a solid 8/10 from me.

I'm not saying this review is wrong. No one's review is wrong, it is their own personal experience. But this review is unrecogniseable to me compared alongside my own experience with this title.

Felt like I had to show some love for this game. I know it got a lot of criticism early on. I started playing post- "immersive mode" update which drops the loot shooter aspect of the game and honestly I really enjoy it. Stealth is actually required (unlike Wildlands) or you get swamped. AI isn't the greatest, but hey, you can always turn up the difficulty.

Pretty awesome open-world setting to explore. Never felt like I was wandering aimlessly, there is always some objective to pursue. I like that you can play the game solo or in coop with friends. Ubi also injected the game with TONS of options in the settings menu so you can basically customize the game until it feels like the game that you want to play (including difficulty, how many weapons you carry, injury resistance, stamina regeneration, on and on...)
Overall, solid stuff here IF you ignore the loot-shooting and just want to play a tactical shooter.

There are no more microtransactions in this game than any other game I have played that incorporates microtransactions. They are a non-issue. The game is just a LOT of fun to play. Yes there are glitches and bugs, and some are very hard to understand how they made it through QA. However, they are far from game-breaking, and again, this game is a BLAST to play.

There are other issues with fundamental mechanics, such as the incorporation of gear score - i, for one, live for leveling and gear score and such, but it just doesn't have a prominent enough purpose in this game. But game-breaking?! No. I only wish they'd gone further with it.

Play the game yourselves before giving it negative reviews, people. I will continue to support Ubisoft and their devs, because they make games that are fun, and obviously put a lot of love into them.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers a vast universe, where the survival aspects have been strengthened from GR Widlands. If the game suffers from a perfectible AI and a clear feeling of "déjà-vu", it doesn’t take anything away from its effectiveness. It works well, especially in coop, while the PVP is viciously nervous. An imperfect title, but with great moments, and a huge potential if handled with care by Ubisoft in the coming months.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coincidentally living up to its name, being a failure and potential gravedigger for the famous franchise. Riddled with Pay-to-Win microtransactions tacked on looter shooter gameplay and pretty under average storytelling, even Jon Berenthal wasn’t enough to arise this gameplay up to some decent playable heights.
  3. 70
At its best, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a taut and tactical shooter that works brilliantly in co-op and is genuinely enjoyable to play but at its heart this is just another sandbox shooter and one that doesn't meet the technical standards we're used to from Ubisoft.
