Perhaps the only downside to Tokyo Dark is the amount of text present in comparison to gameplay. There is a lot of talking, to the point where it verges on visual novel territory, and more interactivity with other aspects of the world would have helped prevent this. If you don’t mind a bit of reading, though, this is a gripping and stylish whodunnit. [Issue#172, p.86]

I thought this was a risky game. I don't like horror, I don't like point and click, I don't really like visual novels. The graphics areI thought this was a risky game. I don't like horror, I don't like point and click, I don't really like visual novels. The graphics are disjointed and the sound repetitive and the mechanics not very fun.

Somehow the weird graphics look amazing, the sound fitting, the atmosphere was spooky, characters likeable, writing was OK. It just all gelled. This is the word I use.with every great game is gel. The best OST, gameplay and graphics mean nothing if it's not cohesive. This game just works and I have so far enjoyed it, it was a fair price and it makes me want to go back and play again. As a game hopper, a game I want to immediately return back to and continue is rare. The art just grows on me more and more.

It won't be for everyone. If you're a FPS type person then maybe pass. It might be a 0/10 for you. If you want a nice, simple, easy play, linear horror game then go for it.
