Dec 4, 2013Tiny Brains is the definition of accessibility with depth, and especially for new Playstation 4 owners, it’s a great justification for stocking up on DualShock 4 controllers.
-
Dec 5, 2013If you have a crew of friends ready to do some co-op puzzling, Tiny Brains is probably for you; you’ll have a good time, even if you want to punch your buddies by the end...If you’re going it solo, maybe take a pass.
-
Dec 3, 2013Tiny Brains has delivered the best multiplayer experience I have had on the PS4 so far, and brings me back to the fun co-op days of Scott Pilgrim and Castle Crashers.
-
Dec 3, 2013Looking for a worthwhile on-the-couch multiplayer game? Tiny Brains delivers with its fun puzzle-based story mode and score-driven challenge modes.
-
Dec 3, 2013Although its core campaign is far too short, the game is a blast with other players, and the wide variety of challenges should keep you playing for hours.
-
Dec 6, 2013While not perfect, or particularly next-gen beautiful, Tiny Brains does offer up some intellectually stimulating puzzles. The addition of co-op definitely makes it a solid purchase.
-
Dec 18, 2013Problems aside, Tiny Brains is an undeniably enjoyable experience. While it may not amaze you, it’ll definitely be worth your time if you and a few friends are looking to have a go at a co-op puzzle experience that isn’t extremely demanding.
-
Dec 12, 2013Cooperative puzzles are the core of this game, which offer incredible fun if you have three friends, but it’s just average if you are alone.
-
Dec 4, 2013Trading powers with scientifically enhanced critters is a ton of fun across Tiny Brains’ various puzzle rooms and combat arenas. But once the brief story campaign has been completed, there is little reason to play beyond the extra half-hour of unlocked challenges and Tiny Soccer matches.
-
Dec 3, 2013It's accessible and adorably illustrated. It has a streak of dark humor embedded in its cast of Frankenstein furballs, and it's just relaxed enough to let its physics-driven puzzles slide out of control every once in a while, giving its challenges a spark that chores don't have.
-
Play UKFeb 15, 2014Tiny Brains is a game that isn't so much improved by co-op as made for it. [Issue#240, p.68]
-
Dec 10, 2013Still, if you have some friends over or some online buddies that have the game and want to have a decent time solving puzzles while trying not to kill one another, Tiny Brains offers some decent fun.
-
Dec 6, 2013A promising but not-quite-there effort from indie newcomers Spearhead Games, Tiny Brains offers decent couch co-op fun, but suffers from technical issues and some uneven design.
-
Dec 5, 2013Engaging cooperative puzzles and local co-op are reasons to consider an otherwise indistinct game that's over way too quickly.
-
Jan 2, 2014It may be too short, but it attempts to make up for that with a decent variety of extra modes and a very well implemented group dynamic.
-
Dec 30, 2013Just like Facebook and instant soup, this experiment is very much what you make of it.
-
Dec 4, 2013Tiny Brains is short, messy, and relies heavily on reusing its ideas, but it's also a funny and clever little game that can delight as much as dismay.
-
Dec 13, 2013Maybe consider it if/when the game gets a significant discount, but until that day, pass.
-
Dec 6, 2013Moments of interesting presentation appear here and there, but too many other aspects of Tiny Brains are sloppy and incomplete.
-
Dec 27, 2013Some good ideas cannot rescue all these Tiny Brains from their cruel destiny: this is a poor puzzle game with shallow visuals and a lack of personality.
-
Dec 19, 2013There are so many titles with so much quality in this genre that you must do something outstanding to stand a chance. The concept and visuals work, though, and playing with friends is an enjoyable experience.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaMar 3, 2014Only comes alive with the right four-player crowd. Soloists, avoid. [February 2014, p83]
-
Dec 11, 2013Tiny Brains might look adorable, but its short length and lack of imaginative puzzles will turn your wide grin into a questioning smirk.
-
Dec 6, 2013With some more interesting puzzles and cleaned up controls, Tiny Brains would be an easy game to recommend to everyone, but as it stands it’s best avoided.
-
Dec 3, 2013Alone, Tiny Brains is a bad game; with friends it's just forgettable.
-
Jan 13, 2014Multiplayer puzzle games aren’t exactly plentiful on the PS4 right now, but that fact doesn’t make Tiny Brains more appealing. Its short, easy and unimaginative. The Worms and soccer-inspired mini game diversions don’t help its cause as a game to break out with friends, either. Even if this sort of couch co-op experience is your jam, I can’t recommend it.
