    Timothy Vs the Aliens is a 3D platformer adventure game where you play as Timothy... Equipped with your special ace card given to you to save the human race, you set out to do just that I had a lot of fun with this game, much more than I expected I would. This game feels so smoothly that the closest thing I can compare it to is a 3d Mario game...    Timothy Vs the Aliens

    Equipped with your special ace card given to you to save the human race, you set out to do just that
    I had a lot of fun with this game, much more than I expected I would.
    This game feels so smoothly that the closest thing I can compare it to is a 3d Mario game...
    However this is a very small compact adventure that will only take you a little more than 2 hours to complete…
    This game is set in an open world, all in black and white...
    You’re told where to go to and along your way you pick up cash and shoot aliens that get in your way with a few very small platforming sections and levels thrown at you...
    The platforming isn’t as polished as a Mario game, in fact a lot of times during the sewer in particular, timothy wouldn’t jump when his gun was out... it was annoying…
    leading me to take more damage or deaths than needed..
    Thankfully checkpoints are pretty forgiving and despite there being a bit of a survival based element with its health pickups, the game will partially fill your health back up if you die... and there are aliens you can find around the world to increase your health and endurance, aka your special ace move.. Which slows down time…
    You move freely while the aliens are in slow motion, leaving them vulnerable for you to take out with your various weapons that can be bought with the cash you find around town and in levels...
    And saving up never feels grindy... you’ll be able to buy all of this games shops items easily with natural play...
    Enemies aren’t too difficult to deal with, but the little orange ones definitely pose a threat, more so than the larger ones…
    so you’ll have to carefully balance your slow down ability and collect the orbs they drop to fill your meter back up, rinse and repeat until every alien is dead..
    Level design wise though there’s really nothing special here... you’ll be hopping through construction sites going through the sewers and the docks...
    There’s one time trial driving section…
    But the game is so small, taking me 2hr and 20 minutes to beat that it’s just enough variety…
    Timothy Vs The Aliens is good foundation for something better, it’s a fun experience.
    But there could definitely be more... more variety… more platforming...
    But it is what it is and I had fun
    I give Timothy Vs the Aliens

    All in all, when you pair it with the games impressive visual flair, it makes for a very stylish experience. The combat is also surprisingly satisfying for such a straightforward game. Although I should hardly be shocked that splattering huge green aliens with a Tommy gun feels great…

    Timothy vs the Aliens is all about missed opportunities and strange choices that transform a game with a promising premise into a giant mess. If you squint hard enough you can see how it could’ve worked, but as it stands, you’ll want to stay far, far away.

    It's enjoyable and charming, but also too simple and short. It's not a bad option for a younger audience, but it's definitely not aimed at more experienced players.

    Timothy vs the Aliens is a sub-mediocre platformer shooter whose own tragedy is that, for anyone except for the youngsters, nothing of any real substance lurks under its frequently formidable and beguiling veneer.
