    Thomas was Alone
    A roller Coaster of Emotion

Disappointingly though there isn’t too much to experience.
The main objective to the game is to get each character to their shaped portal, you do this by simple platforming and team work.
There are the occasional really neat levels, but for the most part they are bland, colorless, boring, and offer no challenge.
I was flying through most of the game, it got really boring and tedious fast.
The only thing that kept me going was my love for the story, I cared about these squares and rectangles,
You are introduced to 7 initial characters that each have their own mechanic to them such as inversion, doubles jumps, and floating.. All feeling equally important to the overall level progression.
But as I said earlier the story gets out of hand and feels jumbled by the 6th world out of 10.
I was hoping it would pick back up again, but they felt the urge to introduce even more characters rather than give a satisfying ending or conclusion for the previous characters.
There are 100 levels in total in Thomas was alone, 2 collectibles in each of the 10 worlds to find, and a cute story and idea,
Id recommend a play through only to experience the narrative, who knows you may appreciate the 2nd half of the game, I personally didn’t
There isn’t much actual game here though, no risk, no reward.
You can get through most levels on aggressive instinct rather than sitting back and thinking.

Unfortunately the only thing that keeps this game from being an utter bore is the charming narrarator. The story which has been called "beautiful" is actually quite forgettable. I found myself ahutting off the game only because i couldnt rush through another slog of 5 pieces fast enough.
The graphics are nice (for pixels) and the game feels solid (though jumping can feel a little late) but overall this game will only be remembered for its first level where the narrator says "Thomas Was Alone." Thats my favorite part.

This is just a terribly boring game. There is nothing about it that makes me want to play even 1 more minute. I might fall asleep next time I play. Lucky for me it was free.

The narrator is very well voice acted. It is a darn shame that the gameplay itself was a chore. I'd rather just listen to the story instead of doing the mundane platforming.

Thomas Was Alone is a rarity in many senses. For me, it's an unusual indie-darling in that it lives up largely to the hype, and is a puzzle-platformer that I didn't give up on halfway through.

What sets the game aside is the narration. Listening to the story told by the voice gives simple Tetris-like blocks character and a sense of humanity as the narrator voices emotions and experiences that the blocks are supposedly feeling. You quickly stop thinking of "red rectangle" and instead see "Thomas", while I found the same happened for Claire, being the biggest, however other blocks I found a bit forgettable in name and character. It's best I don't elaborate as this is a journey you should take for yourself.

The music is another aspect of the game that pleasantly surprised me. I wasn't expecting orchestral masterpieces, but the atmosphere and melody of the music stayed in my head long after I stopped playing, a rarity in games.

Finally, the gameplay itself. This is a bit of a mixed bag. Whilst largely good, I found the jumping mechanics to suffer a bit of input lag. Added to this was the lull I experienced about 2/3 of the way through the game. It's not the longest game in the world but when every level is a puzzle-platformer, tedium creeps in much faster. The solution to this was to simply play a few levels at a time. Amazingly I didn't find myself too frustrated at the game and only had to resort to a guide for the last level, which I argue was badly designed but see for yourself.

Overall, this is a must-play for me. It's usually at a very low price now so that's all the more reason to give it a go.

This game was such a joy to play and great narrating by Danny Wallace, if it wasn't for him this game wouldn't be as good as he gave the boxes life.

Thomas was alone is a lovely little puzzle game that you should play. It's very difficult to pitch this game because if you dissect it there is nothing outstanding about it. However Thomas Was Alone even if it sounds cheesy it's more than the sum of its parts! The combination of the puzzle-platforming with the lovely narrator makes this game worthwhile.

The puzzles are not very varied or particularly difficult but these squares and rectangles they have characters and after awhile they are rubbing off on you. Every shape has strengths, weakness, insecurities and shapes that doesn't like. However they have to work together in order to leave that world. My words doesn't do it justice but honestly i do think it's a worthwhile experience

Juegazo. Aparentemente simple por jugar con cuadrados y tener unas mecánicas simples, pero la forma de construir la historia, hablar sobre las emociones, inseguridades, personalidades, etc., son geniales. Quirky indie title that strips the platforming genre down to its bare bones. It's not much to look at - the characters are literally a bunch of coloured squares and rectangles - but the puzzles are well thought out and the amusing narration that's like a cross between a children's book and a programmer's in-joke has a Black Mirror-esque vibe to it. With it being a free upgrade from PS3 to PS4, the game is just as good as it is. The puzzles are still very varied with the narration still being completely top notch for its time. - Reviewed on PlayStation 4

Thomas Was Alone was a top title when it originally released, and it remains so today.
