I loved LucasArts adventure games back in the Amiga era. So when I heard this game was made by same people, I rushed to buy it.
On the positive side, the game has great retro looks, and lots of fun and nostalgia inducing stuff on the scenes, such as Commodore 64! And the music is also good.

On the poor side, the jokes are flat and tired, and just do not have that Monkey Island quality to them. And the voice acting is appalling on pretty much all characters. And, frankly, the puzzles are bit meh as well. More tedious than entertaining.
The worst thing, to me, is that there is so little to examine on each screen. On the best LucasArts games, you can examine lot of stuff on each screen, even if they have no bearing on the adventure, and when you do examine such stuff, you get funny one liners from the hero. Well, in this game, there is usually only few objects you can look at on each screen, which makes the screens, and the game, feel very barren indeed compared to the old adventures.
So. Nice looking retro game, but very barren one. Mere shadow of the good old days. Wait till it comes on sale, for its not worth full price.

Another great adventure game from Ron Gilbert. Maniac Mansion fans, you must play this ASAP.

Thimbleweed Park feels like a masterclass in making a point and click adventure game. The story is excellent and full of humour and unexpected developments and the puzzles are well thought out and challenging. It feels almost exactly like playing a Lucasfilm Game from yesteryear and this is the highest praise I can give it.
