Telltale ends the third season of their acclaimed Walking Dead series the only way they know how: with a big bang and a whole lot of blood.

From The Gallows is great. The episode is better than anything we saw before this season, without making the same mistakes from previous episodes. It ends very well and makes us wish for more. Nevertheless, we have seen a lot of it already.

This season has its bright spots, but it also suffers from recycled plot points and uneven writing. From The Gallows represents this season's inconsistencies; it has some satisfying moments, but it also features just as many head scratchers. At the very least, From The Gallows is a decent conclusion to Javier's story – but it didn't leave much of an impression on me.

If only this innovative ending summary could have been attached to a better game. The Walking Dead: Season One was a bonafide masterpiece, and we’ve somehow gone from that, to something I wish would just stay dead.

Clementine is The Walking Dead, and by showing her transition into womanhood A New Frontier is just about a must for fans. But while it lays the foundations for new regulars in Javi and Kate, the fact is that all of the season’s other story threads come to an abrupt and unsatisfying end in Episode 5: From the Gallows. There have been many good moments over the course of the season, but the finale does little with them, and the journey feels like a waste of time as a consequence.

Absolute trash. It's like they outsourced the story to the Telemundo's writing room so you get this horrible mind-numbing Spanish soap withAbsolute trash. It's like they outsourced the story to the Telemundo's writing room so you get this horrible mind-numbing Spanish soap with absolutely no redeeming qualities. Nothing in the ending is resolved and you're hit with an after credits scene that says "Clementine's story will continue..." further proving they had absolutely no idea what to do with this season. GET THE REAL ENDING IN THE DLC :) Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. I really liked Season 1, Season 2 was also still good. The earlier seasons did a satisfying job of at least giving you the illusion that your choices mattered although in the end they really didn't but the Story was very well told and the characters were nicely fleshed out. In this season though, you don't even get this illusion. For example, the whole season I blocked EVERY advance of Kate, in the end the game told me that "I denied having a relationship" and David kicked my ass. WHAT F***** RELATIONSHIP? That's just one example of so many scenes that felt forced. Really kind of disappointed as this led me to distance myself from the characters and story as in "well I cannot Change it anyway so why get invested and try" but extra points for Jesus and his disciples riding in as cavallry to save the day (I kid you not). The Walikng Dead seems to get a bit stale, hope the next season (that's sure to come as long as there's money to be made) will step up. Full Review »
