The brevity actually solidifies how stellar the narrative truly is, and I can’t recommend it enough to all gamers who love a good story, especially a good mystery.

If a walking simulator with an exploratory story sounds like a great experience, then The Station is one worth jumping into. Exploring the desolate space station, recovering audio logs, while solving puzzles and challenges may not make this the most innovative in the genre, but it is definitely one of the more enjoyable examples.

Despite being primarily a story-focused experience, the action proves just as enjoyable. [Apr 2018, p.96]

The Station is a wonderful example of how a game’s atmosphere can impact and influence the narrative. The space station felt believable, although the few characters that lived aboard fell a bit flat for me. As a sci-fi walking sim, The Station is more than successful enough.

The Station tackles with some of life's biggest questions with finesse, and will have you pondering it all long after the credits roll.

Made possible by Kickstarter funding, The Station accomplishes what it set out to do; tell a story built on the foundations of progressive science fiction. The length might be an issue for some people but the journey to the finish line is what ultimately counts. An easy recommendation for those that appreciate the visual storytelling of games like Gone Home, The Stanley Parable and Dear Esther.

If you’re a fan of exploration titles then you should enjoy this. While The Station doesn’t reach the heights of some other titles in the genre, it is a good attempt and tells a slightly different story. Hopefully the audio and visual bugs can be ironed out, but The Station is an intriguing little mystery that has you guessing what happened to the crew on board right until the very end.

The story is interesting, the logical puzzles are challenging. But nonetheless this is little more than an elaborate creative exercise.

Despite being just another walking simulator with a touch of digging around, The Station provides an interesting story featuring solid voice actors, and a great finale.

It may not be a great game, but the puzzles are impressive. It's just shame it has such a rushed ending that never rewards you for following the plot.

So called “walking simulators” live or die on whether they deliver an engaging story, and while The Station appears – at least at first glance – to have this covered, it misses the mark in a number of important ways. It’s not bad by any means, but its characters and themes feel light and underdeveloped. While it stumbles narratively, it does at least successfully craft a tense atmosphere, but neither this nor its modest number of enjoyable – if somewhat easy – puzzles are enough to make this a prime candidate for first contact.

The Station fails to captivate despite its interesting ideas and puzzles. The setting is nice, but the script and narrative couldn't quite deliver on the core concept.

As a moody sci-fi walking sim, The Station is a minor success. The environments look great and the puzzles offer just enough interaction to keep the player engaged while moving through the world. Sadly, the story just can’t manage to hold up its end. Between the odd timeline issues, the poor job the devs do of keeping their twist under wraps, and an ending that raises far more questions than it answers, the plot squanders some very interesting ideas.

The Station is an atmospheric mystery adventure set on a space station. However, the game is disappointingly slight and over just as it starts to get interesting.

The Station lacks the storytelling it needed in order to justify playing it. The lack of gameplay could have been overlooked if the story was up to snuff, but it just simply isn't. What results is a short, boring experience that will only satisfy the most desperate of sci-fi fans.

The Station starts out well, but ultimately doesn't deliver. The story goes nowhere and the framerate is abysmal. The game's mercifully brief though... for what that's worth.

A promising premise and some well-executed puzzles aren't enough to save The Station from the dull nature of its story and characters.

This is not an adventure game. This is a thriller-exploration game and I loved every second of it. While not the longest the atmosphere is fantastic. Near the best I've experienced. Good visuals and a true joy to experience. Don't rush through this game, explore and discover it. It's worth it. It probably has my favorite ending of any game I've played. Makes the whole experience all the better. As of writing this the set price is $15 and I would jump at it, but with the length I would recommend waiting for it to go on sale, as it is definitely not for everyone.
If you like the Giant Sparrow games (Unfinished Swan and Edith Finch) this narrative is of that quality.

The Station's main story is interesting enough to keep you wanting to know more and keep pushing forward until the end. The visuals are very good, aside form some serious frame rate issues here and there.

The real star of the game is probably its ambient and eerie mood, which is well supported by a rich sound environment. Compared to games such as Gone Home or Dear Esther, The Station proposes much more interactions with items and offers a few very good puzzles that helps the player getting a real feeling of actually "playing" a game instead of just "watching" or "walking" it.

The length of the game is a bit deceiving, with well under 3 hours of gameplay from the start to the ending credits. Even priced at 19.99$ CND, On this point alone, it just feels like a bit of a rip-off.

The Station is a great effort that will please all lovers of the genre for sure, but definitely isn't for everyone. Our best advice would be to wait until the game gets a price cut before buying it. It is a good game and one that still deserves to be given a try even if it's not perfect...
