Jun 9, 2023An ultimately forgettable and toothless RPG. Choices rarely matter in meaningful ways, combat is weightless and boring, and the central narrative is engaging but mostly goes unrealized. A disappointing return to console for obsidian.

Jun 15, 2021boring game, it was similar to kingdoms of amalur. i played it for over 30h and i dont get the hype seriously
-
Jun 6, 2021No idea how this game has a high user score. Outer Worlds is dreadfully boring. I went in with minimal expectations other than wanting to like it. Somehow I was still terribly disappointed. Absolutely pointless, disappointing world building, disappointing recycled elements on most worlds, repetitive monsters.
-
Jun 5, 2021A good game but a little bit formulaic. I enjoyed it but I would not play it again and id stop just short of recommending it.
-
Mar 17, 2021Game impress first, but after three hours of playing it will disappoint you. I expected more intelligent AI in 2019. after two hours of playing i understand why skill "+25% damage if you alone" was added to game. They can just stay aroud you and do nothing or run into heart of fight and die in seconds. 0 points for balance with **** (7 real)
-
Jan 14, 2021So much talk, So little action. The story is not engaging and the leveling up does not even seem fun.

Dec 7, 2020Is it a good RPG game? Yes. Is it as good as Fallout (well except Fallout 76...), No.
-
Nov 5, 2020I enjoy this game, even I'm not biggest fan first person, silent character games.

Oct 9, 2020This game was incredibly disappointing. The game worlds are tiny and dead, the perk system is usless, and everything about the game feels cheap and watered down. If you are looking for a spiritual successor to Fallout: NV, this ain't it.
-
Oct 1, 2020Too easy, too short, too much travelling between worlds and just back and forwarding.
It's no fallout. -

Aug 17, 2020Does not improve much on the genre, but it offers a nice story with semi open world elements. You can choose between different companions and choose a variaty of perks for your own character.
-
Aug 11, 2020Abundance of interesitng ideas, but it seems like Microsoft just wanted Obsidian to finish this project as soon as possible and start working on what they had prepared for them. The game seems unfinished in almost every aspect: NPCs just stand there regardless of the time of the day, shooting feels the same with every weapon, many planets are on the map just because.
-
Jul 24, 2020So underwhelming and forgettable. I love RPGs, but was not quite a fan of New Vegas, and I can’t quite explain why, but there’s something off about it. I got the same feeling with this title.
-
Jul 23, 2020Beautiful world to explore, but most interactions and quests seem hollow and boring. This game had the potential to be incredible, but sadly missed the mark.
-
Jul 6, 2020Its ok. Its not bad, but there really isn’t anything special about it either. The story is meh, the player choices are meh, the characters are kinda cool sometimes, the world is meh, the gunplay is meh. It scratches the bethesda fallout itch, but that’s about it. Its certainly no non-bethesda fallout.

Mar 11, 2020+ good narrative for a rpg
+ diverse missions and a lot of environments for adventure
+ creative and beautiful world with multiple planets to discover
+ player's choices matter
+ impressive voice acting comparing to other rpg games
- a very few cutscenes
- poor and clunky gunplay
- unbalanced difficulty
- last gen graphics with occasional frame drops -
Mar 7, 2020Too many dialogues... Sometimes boring, had to struggle to continue playing

Dec 30, 2019After about 15 hours of playtime I just got bored with this game. Put it down and have never had the urge to go back.
It does have a lot of charm and wit but after that wore off I couldn't find anything that hooked me. -
Dec 28, 2019Not a bad game kinda lacking in environments and places to explore. Wish my character had a voice, he's kinda mute. I understand that's a obsidian thing but maybe we can start giving our player a voice? It's almost 2020. the game was overall enjoyable and combat was fun, but some of the conversations just drag on too long. I'd wait for all the DLCs to be out so it has more variety.

Dec 27, 2019I was excited for this game but it is incredibly... mediocre. The game keeps repeating "corporations bad" without any of the depth that Obsidian's previous games like Fallout New Vegas had. The combat is mostly boring and monotonous.

Dec 11, 2019This game as not as good as the ratings suggest. It is an okay game. A poor man's fallout (all the crappy bugs and glitches included). Long load screens are frequent and the stories and quests are not great. Just a very mediocre game. As much as fallout 4 was a disappointment compared to fallout 3, it was a much better game than this.
-
Dec 5, 2019Very fun game to play but there is a huge problem with the amount of content here.
I breezed through the whole story and ALL side missions in a couple of sittings.
I am utterly disappointed with the amount of content they give us for this price.
That being said, the graphics are good, the gameplay is fun and the sound is decent.
All in all, great game but WAY too short. :-( -
Nov 28, 2019Good Story but not worth $60 due to quality. Clouds were low quality, maps were baren to nothing but foilage and the same type of enemies with terrible drops. Overall should have been max $30

Nov 21, 2019Overly hyped game that turned out to be very very average 6/10. Really expected much more from this title.
-
Nov 19, 2019Very good game, the exploration os Very cool and the sode Quest até Very interesting.
-
Nov 17, 2019So old school and so safe it's actually pretty boring. Especially considering the visual aspect of it circa 2010. How could you make UE4 look so bad.. And those endless loading screens between tiny, by today's standards, hubs with repetitive enemy encounters?. Unless you're willing to get real deep into the lore and the storyline and play with factions, the action aspect of just isn't worth it.

Nov 10, 2019About 5 hours in, first area cleared. Already feeling the genericness. Good effort and I'll try to finish it but it feels so bland. No urgency whatsoever so far. Enticing main storyline but I wish it was $40 or less. :/

Nov 6, 2019Great effort and nice to see a complete single player game RPG with no in game transactions. But for me personally felt a little dated and flat, completed casually over a week but nothing pulling me back in to give it a second go or complete more side quests. I think it’s bridged a very wide gap of better executed fantasy epics. 6.5/10

Nov 4, 2019It's very weak re-skin of New Vegas in space. Boring, low budget, unbelievable characters, small spaces, strange art style. The reviews was good because people are tired of AAA micro transactions hell, but other than that, it is very mediocre game.

Oct 28, 2019A great start, but they really needed to implement the stuff that are also bad about Fallout? Also, there's a lot of silly quests, like, you speak to the NPC, then you go to the next room, read a document that is conviniently right there, go back and talk again to the NPC. Wow, mission acomplished! There are some graphical glitches, but in general it's a good game. Far from perfect, but fun.

Oct 28, 2019It's not a bad game but it's a 6.5 - 7 at bests. Once again stupid side quests added for game time, I would of prefered a shorter game if they had of left them out. Over all it was an enjoyable weekend playing but it was just short of the mark.
-
Oct 28, 2019Quite disappointing I'm afraid and not a patch on New Vegas. It's entertaining enough for a while,.but I'm maybe 10 hours in and can't be bothered to keep going. The writing is terrible and the humor is all but gone so there is no incentive to keep foing. RPGs have moved on from 2009, this game hasn't.unfortunately.

Oct 27, 2019Feels like a good Fallout 3d game. But it is too linear and just too short. Feels like you get rushed through the game halfway through.
Flow of the story feels like Dragon Age 2. Very linear but your companions regularly want you to revisit old places.
Paying 60$ for this game is too much. For the 1$ game pass it was a nice weekend distraction. But not the glorious comeback I expected -
Oct 27, 2019It's good, but overhyped. It's just not quite at the level of your better AAA titles. I'm having fun, but it's been a little on the dull side at times with the missions and stories, while combat is barely serviceable. Also really wish it wasn't in first person, especially with how cool the armor and customization looks but you pretty much never get to see your character.

Feb 3, 2020What probably best summarizes The Outer Worlds is that, in spite of my qualms with aspects of it, I still enjoyed my time playing it. It doesn’t overstay its welcome and by the fills a void that feels wider in the wake of many larger western studios losing interest in making dedicated RPG experiences. It’s not the kind of game to stand the test of time and Obsidian has made much better and more interesting games in the past, but there is a pleasant experience to be had. For those looking for that style of single-player RPG will find a lot to like and could do a lot worse.
-
Dec 5, 2019I can see that while I play, The Outer Worlds is everything needed and expected from a first-person RPG, one that can then be expanded on in the future, with innovative systems, original worlds, and unexpected characters - they now have a hub to fit into. The problem for players is: why play this game instead of waiting for the one that fully escapes the shadow of Fallout?
-
Dec 4, 2019The Outer Worlds is the Bethesda RPG you always wanted, but it's not made by Bethesda. This is one of the finest RPG experiences that let you take complete control of your storyline, and it's one hell of a ride.
