    Probably best game of the generation. The story is deeper and darker, it makes you feel different emotions that you could hardly experience in other media. As the story is also very psychological, it requires certain maturity from the player.

    I know a lot of people have problems with this game but for me and a lot of other people this game was amazing, story and all. I loved Abby and all the new characters except for Owen he felt weird. Joel's death was brutal and done really early and of course his death could have been done in a better way but for me it was realistic and made me want to kill Abby. And after seeing Abby's story it made me feel bad for her and i ended up loving her character and Laura Bailey really helped. Now I love Joel's character but i hope people realize he was a piece of **** and everything he did in the first game was selfish because he wanted a his daughter back and kill dozens of people who were trying to find the cure just because he couldn't let Ellie go. Now like Tommy said i cant say i would have done any different but that doesnt make Joel a saint and i think that Abby had a very good reason to do what she did and knowing that i wasnt as mad about how Joel died once i beat the game and reflecting on it, it was a very **** good game. The only reason its not a 10/10 for me is because of some bugs that are noticeable but not super game breaking for me at least and some of the writing was a little weird like when Abby said "You are my family" to Lev, I thought that was a little off and also the Abby sex scene felt out of nowhere and a little unnecessary and was just there to add drama. But everything else was heartbreaking and emotional in the best way possible and Im looking forward to a third one.    … Expand

    One of the best games ever made, a roller coaster of feelings and technically flawless! Haters gonna hate, 99% of them not even played, most of the players who played it, loved it! A real masterpiece, for me this is the second best game i've played in my life, just getting behind Red Dead Redemption 2...

    After 7 years we get this: a convoluted story that needs to push the plot, no matter what. Lovely graphic, but this kind of game lives out of the story section. Irredeemable.

Now because of this game I will never play the first part. No one is going to play uncharted if you kill Nathan in first chapter and noone is going to play god of war if you kill kratos in the beginning. First Abby kill Joel to take revenge and then Ellie kill all friends of Abby and came to know thet they were all good.… Expand

    This is a game that has been controversial since its release, I am sure that many who play it will be angered, saddened and understandably frustrated. I sure was, however, this is not a usual story. Part 2 definitely took some risks, but I wholeheartedly believe that everything has a reason, and it definitely pays off in the end. This is a story centered around both the characters and several important lessons in morality and philosophy. The way I saw it, the events in the first game blend perfectly into this one. They are two sides of the same coin. Love and Hate, Hope and Despair, Salvation and destruction.

    The gameplay and visuals are spectacular, there were many moments that I enjoyed because of this. It gave me the chance to take a lot of good pictures. The controls and gameplay are the same as The Last of Us 1, with tons of accessibility options that I appreciated. I think TLoU2 sets a new bar for expectations in the gaming industry. You can tell that a large group of passionate developers worked hard to bring us a story that will stay with us for a long time. Having said this, I also think some people will not like the choices in the story.

    I think that Abby was a very well written character with strong and justifiable motivations. Her journey in the beginning of the game to get revenge on Joel is perfectly reflected on Ellie's journey to hunt her down. They are both fueled by grief they believe will only be cured once they accomplish their goal. No matter how much pain they cause to the people around them. Jesse, Dina, Tommy, Manny, Mel, Owen. They all were dragged into a battle between two unstoppable and determined forces of destruction. Playing the game from Abby's point of view is not a cheap way to make the players sympathize with her, it shows us how anyone can go through pain. Her journey with Lev somehow reflects how as anyone will go to far lengths for revenge, they will do the same thing for love.

    This is the main lesson of The Last of Us 2, there are no protagonists or villains in real life. Everyone is trying to live their life the best way they can. I applaud this game for taking this path, giving us a depressing but thoughtful ending that hopefully provides a great example for storytelling in the future. I think anyone should give The Last of Us Part 2 a playthrough and form their own conclusion, for me it is one of the best games of the generation.    … Expand

    Graphics arent everything, a good story needs to compliment them, if Jak 4 is ever made i hope that other studio handle it, because i think that naughty dog has lost its touch.

The storyline is gripping and powerful as you go through the walks of life of both Ellie and Abby. You get a sense of great story telling here, understanding the story from different point of views. I got very invested into the story to say the least. Character development are very well done here leaving no ambiguity or questions unanswered. It is an experience not to be missed if you've played the first game! There's a lot of unnecessary comments where a load of people are just jumping on the band wagon for the sake of it.

    Yes Joel dies but this is fine as Ellie carries the torch now and it's a really good shock factor too! Yes the ending has divided fans too but Ellie reflects on her decision at the end which gives her some humanity back from the teachings of Joel.

    The only not so good thing on this game was it can feel repetitive sometimes sneaking around, killing infected, running into human survivors and more sneaking around.    … Expand

The game, its story and most importantly its characters feel absolutely inorganic, fabricated to represent a forced diversity, while ignoring and neglecting its own plot and setting. The cure plot line, the big objective in this setting, is simply abandoned like a puppy in the middle of the road, the revenge plot gets old fast, playing as the antagonist is one of the worst decisions of the whole game (said antagonist's character is terrible), the way they killed off Joel is laughable, the over-the-top torturing of the main character is simply painful to watch and the ending is pure **** because it feels like everything you've strived for and accomplished in TLOU 1 and 2 was for nothing. The combat system was really well done, making you feel every hit you take and dish out, melee or otherwise.     The narrative is strong, it goes on without a path and does not try to please anyone, this is a story about how far people will end up taking their revenge and what happens to those who let themselves be dominated by hatred.     I have a some of issues with the ending of the game's story, and I feel that naughty dog is annoying a lot of Elli's character throughout the story. But overall, enjoy the story .
    note : Revenge has terrible consequences, NAUGHTY DOG LESSON.

    My second mistake was somehow believing that the trailers they presented of the game would actually
    would be happening in the game with minor alterations,

    I thought I would be playing as one of the main characters from the first game, just like they said before launch.

    I started to play the game and from the beginning I felt something was off, the atmosphere was a bit off and I couldnt connect with any of the characters, even the old ones. Around two hours in and the thing happened and I was shocked and appalled not because it happened but how out of character abrupt the whole situation was, it felt rushed.

    I carried on playing and tried to get a grip of the story, but around five hours in I became bored.
    I understood the point of the game, but the acting felt forced and of lacking any impact apart from shock value.

    I guess I should have voted with my wallet and returned the game to the shop, but they would not
    accept refund.

    I've never felt such heightened emotion while playing a game that I'm quite literally screaming out due to stress, tension or fear, and my deep love for the characters causing me to cry. Neil Druckmann and the rest of the team at NaughtyDog really have mastered the art of modern video game-making. They have accomplished something that is astonishing in    What an incredible game.

    I've never felt such heightened emotion while playing a game that I'm quite literally screaming out due to stress, tension or fear, and my deep love for the characters causing me to cry. Neil Druckmann and the rest of the team at NaughtyDog really have mastered the art of modern video game-making.

    They have accomplished something that is astonishing in today's overcrowded landscape of entertainment media, where it feels as though everything has been done before, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to stand out among the infinite resources we can choose from in this golden age of content.

    Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson return as Joel and Ellie, expertly portraying their respective characters in a performance that feels deep, rich and meaningful. Johnson, especially, really cranks it up a notch as an older Ellie, and I would go as far as to say Johnson is more talented her field than many popular actresses working in TV and Hollywood today.

    I think it's a remarkable achievement to introduce new characters that aren't dry, annoying or just not really worth caring for. It's an all too common problem in film, TV or games that I think we've accepted as normal and to be expected when sequels and spinoffs are made. However, I did find myself happy to see Jesse, anticipating interactions between Dina and Ellie and found myself growing to like Abby despite outright hatred toward her to begin with, which is not an easy feat.

    Everything in this game is oozing with genuine effort - nothing is lazy. The graphics, game play combat and above all the story is phenomenal. I'm blown away by what the team at NaughtyDog have been able to take from the first game, and improve and build upon it.
    The story is what seems to be making or breaking this experience for many people. It upsets me to see so many negative reviews when the years of dedication, love and care to create this game is so starkly evident.
    I really think that if you believe that the story was poor, you aren't understanding it in the slightest. You're missing the mark and failing to see the point completely.
    Many of the critic reviews do an excellent job of illustrating this point. Go and read some of their reviews.

    To give this game anything between a 0 and a 4 is downright wrong, because even if one did understand the story, and it truly wasn't for them, then fair enough - but you can't deny that everything else that makes up this game was near perfect.

    I'm also terribly disappointed in those reviews that stated the reason they were giving the game a bad score was because they were having 'politically correct, feminist propaganda' shoved down their throats. How will we ever have LGBT+ and/or strong female leads represented in anything if angry bigots shoot it down in the first instance, complaining that they have to see someone different to them on their TV screen? It's actually disgusting to see in the year 2020 just how many people are still stuck in the past.

    I know this phrase 'subverted my expectations' is so overused and practically a joke but it really did just that. I was always on my toes, unable to predict what was going to be throw at me next. I had a phenomenal experience all throughout the game, but somehow the last few hours just elevated the entire game 10-fold, wrapping it up so fantastically. I teared up a lot.

    I wouldn't be able to say whether ''Part I is better then Part II'' or vice versa, because they both have completely different feels to them that it becomes impossible to compare the two. I think the change in mood is down to the nature of the respective stories. Part I is about (fatherly/daughterly) love, but toward the very end it becomes what the second instalment is about - the (arguably horrid and wrong) things you do for someone you love unconditionally.

    I think you could choose to interpret that change in feel as a positive or negative, personally, I think it's a good thing. It needs to have a point of differentiation, something that lets everyone know it isn't it's predecessor. Or else, we end up experiencing something that feels like a cut and paste of the first one, with a few things jumbled around which happens far too often in the entertainment industry because it's safe and profitable. I think it's incredibly brave and commendable for NaughtyDog not to rely on the success of the first instalment, and it definitely pays off.

    The Last Of Us Part II is a worthy continuation of a modern classic, and passes the game from being Joel's to Ellie's story of survival and love smoothly, even though they are beautifully and heavily intertwined with each other.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well. This game was a lot to digest. What an emotional rollercoaster it was. There are so many elements which make it **** awesome. The story is very well written and the flashback which explain so much about part 1 are so good to watch, after all these questions you get after part 1. It was good to know that Joel finally told Ellie the truth, as painful as it was. It was tough to watch her struggle about this. The character development of Ellie is made so well. To me it shows she is having many flaws. She needs to get revenge, even after she is spared by Abby twice, she keeps going back. It is something so stupid, but it shows about her character, how much pain she has from Joels death.
    Something else I really liked was the fact you first hate Abby, but then you gain more sympathy from her, after playing her part. This is something I didn't see in many games, only in Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, as I can remember now. It gives a very interesting twist to the good/bad side of a game.
    The character of Joel is also very well written. He has a lot of internal struggles, especially his love for ellie which even made him betray her. It is tough to see, but it really explains why he does what he does. He cares for her so much, he tries to make her have a great life, teach her guitar and all that. She is his ''new'' daughter and he doesnt want to lose one again. The only thing I don't get is why he trusted Abby, a complete stranger.

    What I also liked a lot was the intensity in some battles. Some get pretty tough and the feeling to be trapped with only 3 bullets and one bottle is quite terrifying. Especially when you are in a dark area with only infected, who are running **** fast. THe part that reaaaally gave me the creeps was abby in the basement of the hospital. It was really horrific, but I loved it so much. And all of the weapons you can use, of which the most brutal ones were definitely the pipe bombs, the trap mines and the flamethrower (so glad it returned).

    About the battles: I feel there were not as much intense battles as in part 1, since the pacing in the game is quite slow. For me, there could have been some more. However, the pacing is very important. It creates a lot of depth in the story, and it puts all the pieces of the puzzle together. I reaaally love the moment when Ellie and Joel are in the history museum. I also was blown away by the liveliness of the stadium were Abby and her group lives. And the part very high up in the sky with all the bridges, **** wonderful
    Now I am touching to another part I **** loved. The graphics and the entire atmosphere. I kept getting surprised and blown away by the tremendous detail of anything and everything. Sometimes it is only small things, a gesture, someone making a small comment, the anxiety, fear or anger in the characters face and body language. I loved the fact how much despair and anger there was in ellies face. Theres not much happiness in her, but this is not strange if you look at what happened to her.

    Some things that I didnt like: sometimes you are walking around for ages trying to figure out what you have to do. It is kind of frustrating. However, it could also be just me. Some battles are designed kind of poorly, for example the one with the sniper, it is so easy to get hit and there not that much fun in playing this battle, since the best way is to stay in the back all the time. Some melee combats with these ''smart'' infected, as well as the combats between ellie and abby are very unsatifying and somewhat frustrating. THe only skill you learn is how to press the right buttons at the right time, instead of having a proper battle. What put me off as well is the repetition and somewhat unbelievabilty of the story. There is really not a lot of variation in the battles. And revenge as the primary motif in this game gets kind of hard to believe. People risking their lifes over and over again to kill 1 person. And Abby saving some strangers and even risking her life to get medical supplies in the darkest place of a hospital gets kind of unbelievable as well. Even more that she betrays her whole faction which is suicide anyway. I just don get it. The only valid reason for her to break the rules is to rescue her boyfriend. But thats all. The environment and the intense moments make up for this to some extent. But sometimes it really felt they only made you play a section because it is epic to play, rather than contributing to the story.

    A final thing I loved a lot is the dark, depressing vibe in the whole game. Sure, I didnt like Joels death at all. But this whole world is **** up anyway. It is not a fairytale. The story is not made primarily for the player to play what is happy and satisfying for them. People die, people do **** up things, people get twisted minds and all that. But they keep going. That what I loved about part 1 and about part 2 as well.

The last of us part 2 é simplesmente incrível tanto quanto tão profundo pode te mostrar que a vida é feita de escolhas e cabe a voce decidir que tipo de pessoa voce quer escolher ser ou como que nem toda aparência pode ser julgada. Ellie e Abby foi esse caso de alto e baixos de voce querer odiar e amar as protagonistas. Tantas partes marcantes e em uma colocação tao bem colocada de cada uma das personagens me fez ser um dos meus games favoritos. Minha critica fica somente pelo fato de o mais Ícone personagens dos Videogames morrer de forma tão sem ênfase digamos “ infantil “ Joel tem um peso muito grande pelo oque fez ao longo da trama, personagem que em um mundo pos apocalíptico é temido por ser malicioso, inteligente e malandro e em The last of us 2 arrancaram simplesmente sumiram com a personalidade dele e isso me deixou puto ao deixar minha nota em um 9.

Sadly the only good thing this game had has been ruined.... yes many talk about it’s amazing visuals and graphics, but if you are one of those persons that only plays a game from its graphics then that leave a lot to tell about yourThis is just a very sad sad sad sequel... and makes me so sad to say. Sadly the only good thing this game had has been ruined.... yes many talk about it’s amazing visuals and graphics, but if you are one of those persons that only plays a game from its graphics then that leave a lot to tell about your simplistic mind to be entertained. Yes, the game looks nice, but honestly is not a big deal for this time when many games look as good or BETTER than TLOU2. Gameplay wise, is a joke. It is still very linear, it strives to recreate an open world feeling but honestly sort of fails to it. It’s mechanics are quiet similar from the first. Side of adding a dodge button and a jump button that is as useless as milking a bull. AI feels kind of the same, but again is not a big deal compare to nowadays other games. The only thing that made the first game appealing was its story, yes perhaps back then also its gameplay was interesting but by now is not.. and if u ruin the story then the game is sadly not as good as it used to. Now why the story bad? First, is not because of the all new LGBT content cuz then again it is being added everywhere and that doesn’t really makes the game bad. What does makes it bad is, all its plot holes, characters that never connect with you, boring characters, the sad pathetic dead of one of the most beloved characters from the first series, the constant weird change of behavior from some of the characters, and the worst thing! Being forced to play with the one character every single player hates the most! He killer! For 10 BLOODY HOURS! This is just a joke. His game is not as good as we all expected it to be....     The best game that could be made. This game with Uncharted and Last of us 1 and God of War is really unique. The story is very engaging and the characters are very lovable and real. I was really surprised to see all that negative criticism. 1000 thanks to Naughty Dog Studio and Sony for making this beautiful game.

It's top of the PS4 generation in which present an exemplary brave, shocking story with very deep emotions, and which has a purpose, a meaning, a raison d’être. "Повестка" совершенно не мешает наслаждаться игрой и сюжетом. Но... концовка.Отличная игра с тяжёлым для восприятия сюжетом. Особенно концовка, оставляющая пустоту в душе. Este juego ha sido menospreciado de forma salvaje, la historia es arriesgada, muy cruda y triste, pero a la vez con muchos giros en la trama que nos harán cuestionarnos sobre la moralidad de nuestros actos y su consecuencias. Una de las razones comprensibles por la que muchos odiaron este juego, es la muerte de Joel, además de una forma brutal y sádica, lo cuál causa un impacto muy fuerte para los fans del primer juego desde los primeros minutos, pero conforme la historia avanza, todos los cabos van siendo amarrados. El argumento para desarrollar la historia me parece interesante y lógica, a pesar de que muchos se han quejado también de eso. Abby fue lo más destacado, al principio nos hacen odiarla, pero después logran hacernos ver su lado humano y sus motivaciones, logrando una empatía con el jugador. Un giro brillante es el enfrentamiento contra Ellie mientras controlamos a Abby, realmente es un momento que me dio mucha emoción y me hizo ver a Ellie como la mala del cuento. Otro momento memorable es el flashback de Ellie y Joel visitando el museo, sin duda uno de los momentos más bellos del juego, no hace falta decir que cuando Joel y Ellie aparecen juntos, es cuando surge la magia que nos enamoró desde el primer juego. El gameplay es mucho más dinámico que el de la primera parte, sin hacer grandes cambios en sus mecánicas y puliendo algunos detalles lograron darle más dinamismo al combate. El apartado técnico es sin duda lo mas destacado, desde los gráficos, los detalles faciales, las atmósferas, los ambientes, el diseño de escenarios, el soundtrack, etc. Los únicos defectos que encontraría en el juego, es que a veces se vuelve demasiado largo y repetitivo, quizás debieron haber recortado unas 5 horas para hacerlo más fluido. Después de algunas horas comienza a volverse tedioso, sobre todo llegando a la parte de Abby. En muchos puntos se corta el ritmo del juego debido a como está estructurada la narrativa, incluyendo tantos flashbacks y cambios de personajes. El gameplay también se ve afectado debido al guión que se va alargando de más y a estar explorando los entornos tan extensos para buscar recursos. El embarazo de Dina y el posterior bebé, me parecen un sinsentido en la historia y algo forzado para darle más emotividad, la inclusión de Abby es buena, pero creo que con unos cuantos flashbacks pudieron haber dado sentido a sus motivaciones y no alargar tanto su parte jugable, en fin, este juego nunca superará al primero, pero es una digna secuela (con defectos) y sin duda uno de los mejores de esta generación.     Amazing game! Really think the opinion of this gane will vary by the person, it is not for everyone, some will hate it, some will love it and some will be in the middle of hate and love. Play the game and find out which one are you. It does have some writing issues, but it's still enjoyable and great nonetheless

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. At first I was trying to not get on the hate bandwagon for the game, and at a point in my playthrough I’d have given it a higher score. But after finishing the game, a few things could’ve been done better. Namely, how Abby’s group got ahold of Joel, and the structure of the game. I think they could’ve made him getting captured much more believable, even if it’s just snippets throughout the games flashbacks showing how he’s gotten kinder to strangers, and is quicker to trust them after being sheltered in a community for four years. He was essentially living the high life (or at least the kind you could live in a post-apocalyptic world), and they could’ve highlighted that in certain scenes of the game a lot better.

    The other thing would be to structure the game better, and to make it so you aren’t just hopping around a three day time period and then going in to a flashback during the flashback when you play as Abby. Aside from those major gripes, the games actually very good, story and gameplay-wise, and I don’t know what people are so irrationally angry about.    … Expand

    Phenomenal... Daring... A joy to dive back into this world and figure it all out.

    The twist to play as both characters bugged me at first but quite rightly i then became to like Abbey and realise the parallels and intertwined life they both had. Well done Naughty Dog... well done

    For me this was a really great and fun game. Game of the Year for me at the moment. It took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions and not many games do this me. Don’t listen to the negative reviews and play the game for yourself and take yourself on the journey. It will surprise you

They took everything the players loved about the first The Last Of Us and replaced with a pretentious storyline that contradicts itself. I'll explain this later so those who don't want to be spoiled (although you're not really missing anything good) can stop reading.

    The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is solid. Kudos to the people who worked on those. Unfortunately, graphics and gameplay won't be able to save The Last Of Us 2. Most of those who bought this game (including me) did it for the story, so it's no surprise that people are hating this game, since it lacks what we wanted the most: a good story.

    Mind you, good story doesn't mean happy ending. This game could be as dark as you could imagine and people would still love it if only it had a good story.

    The biggest difference I can appreciate between "The Last Of Us" and "The Last Of Us Part II" is it's tone. Not in the sense of the first one being about love and the second about hate, like Neil Druckmann suggested, but rather the first one being a mature, dark story, and the second one being a gruesome, edgy fanfiction written by a teenager in his/her interpretation of what horror means.

    Every time something bad happened to our protagonists, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at how hard Naughty Dog was trying to get emotional. They wanted us to feel sad, but the only thing they got from me was anger, then boredom, then anger, and finally, a feeling of "What the hell just happened?".

    If you're wondering whether you should play the game or not, I'd recommend you to get it on sale, or just ignore it exists. If you liked the first game, this one is going to be a tremendous letdown.

    SPOILERS FOR PART II:

    -The ending of Part II contradicts the entirety of the game. Supposedly, the game is triying to show us how revenge is a cycle that leads nowhere and it only causes more pain. However, the ending show us otherwise. Abby, who avenged her father, gets a second chance with the Fireflies and a new family. Ellie, who didn't avenge Joel, looses everything she fought for. No Joel, no Tommy, no Dina, no Jesse... nothing. She ends up alone, which was her biggest fear.
    If anything, this game shows us that trying to be morally superior to others only leads to a void in your life, and that, as much as it is "the right thing to do", nobody is going to be there to praise you for being politically correct.    … Expand

Man I had to create an account just to confirm, yes I played the game, took my time until later on the game when I just wanted it to end, I just couldn't bear anymore the game trying to push on me to like Abby, I mean you just can't after the brutal way she kills Joel, maybe if you were introduced to her first I could care about her, but not like this, the game constantly forces the hand (Ellie killing dogs, Abby pets them, fking arms like Conan, playing as Abby against Ellie is notouriously difficult just so you despise her) even the final fight they completely change the appearance of Abby, yea you say she hasn't eated and couldn't get her roids but even then the game tricks you with another braided hair NPC that looks like her, this isn't the same person that killed Joel it diminishes your anger, the flashbacks are amazing and thats because it's the story we wanted to see, heck you can even make an entire game based on new characters and thats fine but the way they presented the new characters and intertwined both stories is so wrong I just wanted it to end, I genuinely wanted to stop playing several times, and I came here to say so, I did play the game, but this is just like GoT ending.… Expand

    To be honest TLOU Part 2 does not deserve ten out of ten. But this game cannot critisized that low. Apart from it's story gameplay, visuals, animations, musics are nearly perfect. The game was in the verge of greatness but we the gaming community treated it too harshly. I'm just giving that 10 to get that game to the place it deserves.

    Долго не мог для себя сформулировать, что для меня TLOU 2. И понял, это отличная игра, но плохой сиквел. Многое, за что я полюбил первую часть, здесь просто этого нет. Это ААА игра, с авторским сюжетом, который может многим не понравится.     Uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado, que se esta llevando críticas pues no se muy bien porque. Yo recomendaría jugarlo y luego puntuarlo ya que mucha gente aquí ni lo ha jugado. Como gran fan de la primera parte , me parece que es una gran secuela.

    It breaks my heart to write this, but I really did not expect such a poor story after all these years of waiting. While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
