    Just finished the game.
Wanted to give a 8 but gave a 10 because of all of the fake negative scores. The gameplay, was truly impressive and I'm really satisfied with all of the mechanics. And TLoU II achieved that while remained loyal to the original game.
But why a 8? In my opinion, the end of the story was a bit too long. Every time you expect the game to get near its end, just

    But why a 8?
In my opinion, the end of the story was a bit too long. Every time you expect the game to get near its end, just another story starts. The writers had a lot of things to say, and I understand that. But it's the art of the director to shave the story, and sort the story parts in a way, that everything ends in a climaxing way. Like what happened with the promise at the end of the TLoU. This kind of ending, was what TLoU II was really missing.

The atrocity that was supposed to be one of the greatest games, goes down as one of the worst forms of media entertainment I have ever experienced! They kill off Joel, in the most juvenile way, then make you play 80% of the game as his killer. Then with that character you have to fight Ellie. They made Ellie and Joel complete bad guys and what you to fall in love and side with this Abby character, who has no depth or likeness to her at all. Not to mention she beats Joel to death within the first hour of the game but we are just supposed to side with her and care about what drives her? And to care and understand why she killed him? We are here for Joel and Ellie, to experience the amazing bond and story between them! Not to mention that Abby is terribly written. I did not care at all about her. And the ending Ellie lets her go.. kills everyone else. But let’s the main character who **** up her life go and be happy. Joel, Ellie, and the huge community behind the first last of us, we all deserved better. Neil should be ashamed of himself. Expand

I wont spend a lot of time talking about this because I dont think anyone could doubt this aspect of a naughty dog game. Although none of this games relationships shine near as bright as Joel and Ellie's in the first one, I find their are just too many positive moments for that alone to ruin the experience. At first I was not excited to play such a large portion of the game as Abby, the absolute unit of an antoganist. After a while of assuming her existence as being pure evil, I began to realize her motivations were just as justified as any of Joel and Ellie's. This game took the conflict you felt when pulling the trigger that killed the doctor in the original game and spread it out through an entire campaign. I think the reason so many negative reviews are coming out is because of an emotional bias to Joel and Ellie and having to truly accept that the strength of their relationship does not truly justify all of their actions. By the end of Abbys portion of the game, i was attatched to the pure badassery of her being but not completely sold on her as person. Although I wasnt sold on her as i person I was sold on her motivation and ready to fight for what she was fighting for. Between scenes of disturbing moral imperative the game slips in flashbacks, that do a wonderful job of bringing you back down to the root of what you are doing and why you are truly doing it. Between each of these cut scenes the game delivers a beautifully refined amount of gameplay. The gameplay itself is beyond enjoyable and is crafted in a way that allows you to create your own experience. Each segment of gameplay felt like a cinematic experience in its own rights. It was a huge improvement from the first game in this regard. Another thing this game did better then the original was create absolutely remarkable, adrenaline inducing expriences both in cutscene and beautifully crafted cinematic gameplay. Not to say the original didnt have these experiences but part 2 just delivered it in a way that truly had my heart racing. Every single time i felt like I might not be able to continue, the game delivered a perfectly timed cut scene and although I never knew what point in time or what character the cut scene was going to bring me to, it always did an amazing job of grounding me and giving me the motivation to keep moving forward. This game is Dark, chaotic, repulsive, beautiful and capsulating. It delivers an experience that rivals the excitement and sentiment of the first one and after finishing my first play through I am ready to jump right in to my second. This game is a master piece. Hi everyone, I am a big fan of the TLOU Pt1 it’s one of the most emotional games I’ve ever played and I was really excited to see the 2nd part, the beginning of it was ok, but after Joel’s death it became too difficult to play it, it’s like you got hit or slap in a face, I felt emptiness and sadness during whole game.... 2nd part ruined all positive and warm feelings about Joel’s and Ellie’s relationship, there are too much misunderstandings from Ellie...it’s horrible...how they could do that to him...after all this years of waiting...what they were thinking about???...what the hell?!?!...I just want to forget this piece of crap!!!
If 1st part of this game means something to you and it’s not just ordinary game for you - don’t waste your time, money and impressions.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game looks fantastic, lighting, visuals, and game play are spot on. Although, the story is very lacking in terms of how good it is and compared to the first game, this is piss poor. For someone who played the original over 10 times, this just isn't it. (SPOILER) Seeing one of our most beloved characters in a franchise (Joel), be treated in such a way by a very STUPID and UNNEEDED character (Abby) is beyond me. They even went as far as to make Joel and Tommy seem like they have never had experience in an apocalypse, these 2 would never walk into a room with a bunch of strangers, let alone save someone without at least questioning them first. I'm not sure what went through the writers' heads at Naughty Dog, but this just isn't The Last of Us for me. Game play, physics, lighting, and visuals are really the only positive thing about this game. If you're a hardcore Last of Us 1 fan, don't buy this, it will ruin everything you loved about the first game. Expand

The whole game is about feminism.
I Don’t care AND IM SURE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL AGREE, that we didnt care about being a strong women/girl caracter, but the way that game pushes in ...nahh this could have been indeed a game of a gen but it isnt.

It's trash. Pure trash. I don't know what Druckmann was thinking. Years and years of hype and THIS is what came of it. It's heartless, cynical, boring, and at times quite sadistic. There was a clear agenda when this game was made and NONE of it was out of love and affection for the player, the key person who is paying for this garbage.

The voice acting was fine, but sadly the characters were incredibly shallow, and the story was lacking. It's a copy paste from another character and they try to sell you an opinion the entire game. If it wasn't so political, it wouldn't have had such a backlash. They take everything you liked from the first game and take a steaming sh*t on it. The villain they chose is generic AF and all the death scenes are stale and flat out disrespectful to the community. Instead of a game about mushroom zombies in an apocalyptic survival setting you get a political movie about 3 girls and their love interest. Also who TF waits a year to get their revenge… Expand

I'm not entirely sure how a sequel to one of the best games ever can come out and be this terrible. The gameplay is fine, although there is a bit too much of the walking/talking. The graphics are amazing. But the story and what they have done to beloved characters from the first game might be some of the worst writing and decision making I've witnessed in the industry.

The direction they have taken this game is so bad, it makes you wonder if they were out to deliberately sabotage the legacy of the first game and wanted to destroy their reputation. What a mess.

The game also has a lot of "tolerance" moments, especially when the developers changed the skin color of the characters from the first part, Bravo! (the scene where Joel saves Ali in the hospital).
Technically, the game is perfectly worked out, my respect to all those who were engaged in development.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
