    They say none of the games should get 0. I understand that it has amazing graphics and good enough playing mechanics. The problem is story. The linear games like The Last of Us or Uncharted are heavily rely on a story telling. Sadly this one has a very weak plot that is full of holes. On top of that the characters are unlikeable and the beloved heroes from part one are totally changed andThey say none of the games should get 0. Sadly this one has a very weak plot that is full of holes. On top of that the characters are unlikeable and the beloved heroes from part one are totally changed and I could even say destroyed. To anyone who loved part one, I would strongly suggest to skip this game altogether as it will only ruin beautiful memories you had with it. It is the title that is only trying to push certain agenda at all costs and nothing else matters.… Expand

    Undeniably beautiful with solid mechanics but the narrative is horribly disappointing. The story feels contrived and full of coincidence with very little pay-off. While this is a good starting point for pushing Ellie's plot, the issue comes from the split perspectives between Ellie and Abby. It is meant to draw comparisons between the two characters, but it ends up becoming an anachronistic story toldThe Last of Us Part 2 is an example of how not to write a story. There was one point where it was even a flashback within a flashback. The most disappointing part of the story was the ending as it cannot really be called an ending. The same fight plays out twice with the same inconclusive end to it.

    The biggest issue comes with the game's controls. The only way I can describe it is that it is bad. I found myself struggling against the controls during combat more than I was with the enemies. Aiming on a controller is just awful and most close quarters combats play out like bad quick time events. In the end, I had to turn the difficulty down because of how hard it was to aim with the controller and melee combat was impractical on higher difficulties. The platforming parts of the game are just as bad with the controls.

    The only thing I can say is positive about the game is the graphics. It looks good and there are seamless transitions between gameplay and cinematics. The environments are nice. Character animations are nice. The character models on the other hand are bad. I feel that they fall into that uncanny valley where the realism starts to creep me out.    … Expand

The emotions I felt were completely unearned and ruined the legacy of the first game. I finished the first game a mere 3 days ago to make the transition seamless, but the forced themes as well as broken storyline made me return this very soon. It gets a 4 for good gameplay, graphics and environments, but thats not what I played the last of us 2 for. It was for a good story, and this is not that.… Expand

    The last of us part 2 is a great game with even greater gameplay. I have been a person who has actually seen credits and am not basing this of the leaks like the other sewer rats and I can say the reviews were right.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
