    Its really sad that not even games are left out of politics these days. Look at how many 10s and 0s this game has gotten. This is what happens when you force issues and tries to "educate" people that dont need or want to be educated. You divide people into camps and get ratings that has very little to do with actual gameplay.

    The game is visually stunning as expected. Unfortunately thats where the positives end. The combat is as stale as it was in 2014 but this time the story and the characters are nowhere near strong enough to carry the game on their own. Theres a zombie apocalypse going on but the characters are too busy bickering to notice. If you want to escape reality for a while dont get this game. The writing is not good enough. The Last of Us - Part 2 tries to be something its not and never should have aspired to be.    … Expand

    I’m gonna cut this short, because you probably feel the same way I do. The graphics and sound are good, not as good as they showed earlier and compared to the first game which came out 7 years ago, but still good for a game. The characters and story are pitifully bad. But this isn’t anywhere near well. Far from it. New characters that they try to shove down my throat are badly done fan fic quality trash. Don’t get me started on the Neil Druckmann insert sex scene. 2020 continues to be an abomination on all fronts. Oh and one last thing, all the 10/10 reviews showed me that 95% of the game journalist sites are either bought out or wouldn’t know a perfect game if it came and bit them on their ass. Either way, massive hit to their credit. Massive hit to gaming. What a **** show this is guys. Shame.… Expand

    I can't imagine how the characters of Ellie and Abby weren't made to be as intentionally repulsive as possible. Everything about them is crafted impeccably as to be unlikable as possible. Whether it's Ellie's indignant attitude and lanky, 15-year-old-boy body or Abby killing the main character of the first game and her comically large arms. Every design choice here was made seemingly toI can't imagine how the characters of Ellie and Abby weren't made to be as intentionally repulsive as possible. Everything about them is crafted impeccably as to be unlikable as possible. Whether it's Ellie's indignant attitude and lanky, 15-year-old-boy body or Abby killing the main character of the first game and her comically large arms. Every design choice here was made seemingly to show complete contempt for the player base. It's hard to imagine what Neil Druckmann's intent here was. Why would you kill such a beloved character in such an unceremonious way without any kind of final catharsis?

    And what is up the sex scene? Was Abby born male or not? Why does it look like they are having anal sex? Did Neil make this entire as inside joke and was hoping to ride on controversy? I guess it worked to some extent.

    It's a shame that the game is so repugnant because it seems like the game engine and graphics are very solid, albeit made on system that was outdated even at the time of it's release. I think this game would truly shine on PC or PS5 so that the framerate can really bring out the animations in this game (which are admittedly pretty impressive).

    But as a game that is sold on its story, it's just too awful and offensive to pay the price of admission and the contempt which it shows for its players is enough to warrant it a 3.    … Expand

    This game ruined The Last Of Us for me. It took the outdated gameplay loop , polished it a tiny bit more and handed it back to us. Combat only requires spamming square near an enemy with no tactics in play. Ai have nice animations but are still dumb as ever. Staying at areas i've long since vacated. The story is full of plot holes with little to no character development and a horribleThis game ruined The Last Of Us for me. There is a brutal death in the game not used to add any sadness to the narrative but purely to just shock the player. This game is full of discrepancies and while there is ambition here. ND has made too many failures in execution and plot to call this game a success… Expand

But While controlling such an outlaw to the user, Gimmicks that demand political correctness do not make sense. What do you guys want to say to users?… Expand

    The story is complete garbage. They do not care about their fans. They lied about the trailer, they lied about the leaks, they mistreated their employees with crunch and what comes out? A pile of terrible storytelling, no new gameplay usage.

They make a poor revision of the original story that made the franchise successful, trying to generate sympathy for their political "causes" by creating a hate story, with script holes just to justify a bad plot.… Expand

    The gameplay, visuals, acting, and music were all incredible. Naughty Dog did it again in these departments and even exceeded the first game in some of these regards. But the story, the keystone that carries the whole franchise on its back is absolutely horrid. The characters don’t act like themselves and all the relationships they’ve created in the first game are thrown out the window. IThe gameplay, visuals, acting, and music were all incredible.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Back in 2013, I could not have been more hyped for the original game. At that point there was no game I had anticipated more. And when I played it, I absolutely loved it. The world building and storytelling was great, I developed such an attachment to Joel and Ellie. Seeing the initial conflict between them, with them eventually getting to be like daughter and son. To be honest, I almost cried when Joel fell and got impaled, as I thought he died. I loved the first game so much.

    But for TLOU2, man am I disappointed. The world and detail in the game is great, the facial animations are top tier. The graphics aren't quite as impressive for the time as they were for the first one, but they're still good. However, the trailers and ads for the game were so misleading. They made it look like Joel would play a big part in the story with how often they showed him. But nope, killed off by an angry buff woman with a golf club. The writing and story is just HORRIBLE. And why do we need sex scenes? They add nothing in this game. In the original DLC when Ellie realized she was lesbian, whatever I don't care. They just harped on it a bit much. This entire game is "Subvert your expectations" and its awful. I don't want to spoil the ending, despite how terrible it is. Let's just say the ending will only piss you off more.    … Expand

    The best aspect of its predecessor was the story, it has been completely obliterated on this sequel, you can thank naughty dog for ruining such a once epic franchise, well done ND, WELL DONE...

Positives The game is gorgeous to look at, the graphics are seamless and impressive. The lighting and effect is something I’ve rarely seen in PS4 games. The soundtrack is amazing, how fluid it is from a shifting to a tense situation from a calm situation is perfect. The voice acting in this game is just as incredible as the first. The actors are spot on with their deliveries and emotions as they are conveyed. Difficulty - I played on normal and even then it posed a challenge. This game was not easy to breeze through but pose a definite a challenge as I ran through it. Gameplay - crafting, gunplay mechanics, stealth and fighting felt fluid and saw very little “stickiness”animator movement was really well done and small details are very noticeable especially in stealth mechanics in terms of how they move. Enemy - some of the enemies are nightmare fuel and it worth learning their backstories in how they are created. BAD The story in this game is horrendously put together, the plot holes, the character development and how the game forces you to accept certain development and how they present these developments are horrible and not well put together. The story though it set a sequence of events early on in the game for character development, it failed badly and in fact turn the game into a chore and it became emotionally draining to complete it. The choices certain characters make or what made them likable and relatable are entirely 180 from the first game. This was story was not put together well and it was disappointing to witness. AI - the AI in this game fell short of intelligent. I running past clickers was very easy to do (possibly due to my difficulty setting). Human enemies are the worst and very predictable which made them a boring encounter. I wanted more monster type enemies but their were more human battles than monster battles when compared to the first. This game definitely is not a successor to the first. I am sadden by the direction they chose for the story. I weigh single player games heavy on the story and because of how lacking the story was the score I gave is completely fair.… Expand

The game does not improve on the gameplay department. 7 years later and we got a story that tries to make you feel bad for not supporting lesbian/trans. it tries too hard to push that agenda. A big disappointment for those of us that waited all these years expecting an improvement but instead we got a game that we wish would have been fine to never have been made in the first place. Characters in the game you don't care about unlike TLOU1. Just a sad game all the way through from beginning to end where as the first game you have some heart felt moments.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Я ждала эту игру почти 7 лет! Последние 2 года следила за всеми новостями о второй части и такой плевок в лицо по итогу. Сюжет отвратителен, трейлер изменили и вместо ожидаемого путешествия любимых героев мы получаем скучнейшую историю перекаченной недобабы и пустую, как персонажа , Дину. Не знаю какому человеку в голову пришло убить главного героя, который вывозил весь сюжет, да еще и любимую лошадь зачем-то. Но сразу после таких отвратительных поворотов захотелось сломать диск с игрой, как некоторые и поступали, а не проходить ее дальше. Игра не имеет смысла без того тандема, что был в первой части. Новая подружка Элли является лишь болванчиком, не более, привязанности к ней нет никакой. Хоть заменили бы на что-то стоящее, прежде чем ломать то, что есть и все любят. Понятно, что авторы хотели дать Элли цель для мщения, но не такой ценой же. Ту же Дину убить было лучшей идеей. (Объяснило бы мотивацию Элли для мести, а мы бы продолжили наслаждаться тандемом Джоэль+Элли. Итог: продолжение истории отвратительно и пусто настолько, что остальные достоиства игры блекнут на этом фоне. Судя по твитам разработчиков, они на то и рассчитывали: специально заруинили такую игру, чтобы словить хайпа. Спасибо за такое отношение к фанатом игры. Слов нет. (Приличных)… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
