One of biggest masterpieces I ever played. And i played many. Very risky move from devs to make You play as character who everyone hates but it was worth it delivers experience like no other game. Too bad so many people were unhappy with it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.
MATAR A ABBY Y A LOS LOBOS no iba revivir a joel.
The last of us es algo más que un juego. Es una leyenda histórica
    Joel estará siempre con nosotros

    - Rly **** story with either full cliché elements in it, stuff that makes no sence due to next contra, and looong boring filler cutsence which add nothing to the story at all and just take away the gameplay

    - Characters are unlike to the very good first game, very empty shells and Characters from the first game are a shell from theyr former self. they think being a lesbian is character enough to define ellie with it, which is an Insult for the first time fans, which liked her complex and good written character. Abby is the worst character ever written whith no depth at all or even a reason why she does **** in the first place.

    - Like I said the booring cutscenes and unskippaple interactable cutscenes where you click at some unimportand objects are just booring to watch.

    - The most disgusting sex scene I ever witness. Sony banning anime **** but Sheman Abby cumping this **** is ok?! Even bigger insult

    Conclusion:

Every fan from the first time has every right to be upseat about how crappy the second game is compared tho the rly good first game which we grew to love and hyped the **** out of us. But year keep calling the critics homophobig or transphobig (even tho abby isnt even trans) so you dont have to listen to all the negative critic the mean people threw at ya. **** the devs for ****ting in our mouths with this garbage of a game and **** everyone trying to put words in our mouths for disliking the game

the last of us part two truly shows how good modern gaming can be, with excellent visuals, gameplay, and characters. The story pulls you in and makes you feel exactly how the characters are feeling. This post apocalyptic masterpiece does not deserve the hate or review bombing it got. 10/10.

It’s true craftmanship to push the limits for the PS4 this far. At times it feels next-gen even though it runs in 30fps the animation is smooth, the combat is raw, the sfx is brutal, the voice acting sets a new standard, the storytelling is great (even though it I prefer the more straight forward tone in the first game I appreciate all the attempts to craft a modern approach.

    Not a bad game.

The gameplay is fun enough, and while it has a few new additions, nothing is fundamentally different from the first installment. Not really a whole lot to say other than that; unfortunately, the new enemies, like shamblers, don't present a huge challenge. The gameplay is fun enough, and while it has a few new additions, nothing is fundamentally different from the first installment. Not really a whole lot to say other than that; unfortunately, the new enemies, like shamblers, don't present a huge challenge. Wish there were more dog sequences, rat king fight was kinda cool looking but boiled down to "shoot the bullet sponge till he dies." Some combat and exploration sequences felt a bit too long and drawn out with the more open environments, especially with little to no real dialogue.

The game's presentation is incredible. They push the PS4 hardware to the absolute limit, and give the 9th gen console a hefty load. The textures look incredible, the motion capture is well done, the facial movements, especially during combat, are visceral, and the violence looks absolutely brutal and disgusting. It was a great improvement upon the visuals of the first game. Settings look incredible, and you can tell how many man hours went into making this game look like a cinematic masterpiece.

The soundtrack from Santaolalla was fairly good; I enjoyed the atmospheric and minimalist textures he employs in complimenting the hollowness, the utter emptiness of a post apocalyptic united states.

Accessibility options are worth noting as well, as the features covered a lot more ground that accessibility in any previous game had, with all kinds of filters for colorblindness of different kinds, visual cues, even audio cues to make the game half playable for a blind person. This should be the industry standard for accessibility.

The story, however, is where the seams come apart, and the reason I rate the game 6 (though it's really more of a 6.5) is because of the fact that it is indeed a story driven game. It's a cautionary tale that shows us that graphics and presentation really aren't everything. The story is something that reads as if it was not very well thought out. It doesn't have a satisfying structure to it, and is full of conveniences, contrivances, and gaffes that break the immersion. Of course, the first game had its story foibles as well, especially with respect to how modern medicine works, but I'm not reviewing part 1.

To begin, the story eschews a traditional story structure. This has been done successfully in the past, but it is difficult to pull off, and it hurt the story more than it helped. Joel dies as the inciting event of the game, Ellie sets off on the warpath, and the narrative tension appropriately rises and accompanies Ellie's in game progression; she acquires new skills and weapons as she comes closer to finding Abby and kills her friends. The game reaches a climax confrontation, but then annihilates itself by cutting to black and returning to several days earlier, but now as Abby. This decision completely destroys the stakes, disincentivizes player investment, and restarts character progression, which annoyed me quite a bit, having to start the character progression over with less health, fewer skills, and only two weapons. The game gets back to the climax in a very roundabout way, introducing a medical fetch quest for relieving compartment syndrome via amputation (another medical gaffe) that I found myself not really invested in, as it had little to do with the main narrative. Yara and Lev were potentially good and interesting characters that didn't feel very well fleshed out or developed over the game's second act. The climax happens, Abby beats Ellie down, and leaves her there. That seemed like a fine place to end, but the game overstays its welcome with a coda where you play as Ellie once again, giving the game a third climax. By the end, the oddball story structure left me somewhat unsatisfied, as did the (dare I say) somewhat milquetoast ending.

Though the story structure is the game's main story weakness, several other items stand out. The opening of the game very clearly takes a moral position of Joel being "bad," and that he's receiving consequences for the hospital massacre. This seems somewhat nonsensical, given the circumstances in part 1 that left him with no alternatives, and fails to consider the fireflies as anything other than world savior do-gooders, rather than flawed and complex human beings. The game teases out this notion when Abby begins to experience regret for dragging her friends into the fray and getting them killed, but never meaningfully reconciling with the fact that, perhaps the Fireflies weren't perfect people, and were no better than Joel, or that they intended to kill him.

The story is also littered with nagging contrivances: characters get Deus Ex rescued over and over, and they make nonsensical decisions for the purpose of advancing the game's moralistic paradigm. Abby and Co, for example, spare Ellie because "uh oh, revenge is actually bad" rather than killing her to cover tracks, or Ellie deciding to free abby from the stake at the game's ending.

Simply a piece of art that people with closed mind and low sensibility can not appreciate. In Tlou2, sound design, graphics, animations, acting, directing are on a level never seen before, but the best things are narrative and characters. People are too used to shallow stories in which happen exactly what they want to happen and can't appreciate what is out of their cone of sight. People are too used to shallow stories in which happen exactly what they want to happen and can't appreciate what is out of their cone of sight. In this story, there is not good and evil; characters are humans, not unbeatable and perfect superheroes and as humans they make mistakes, they cry, they are scared, they have weaknesses. The world narrated is cruel and people in it too, main characters included. Fan boys have this toxic addiction in which their preferred character can't die, can't make mistakes, it's perfect and infallible. Reality it's not like this, and this game it's realistic. In this game there is blood and anger, broken bones and tears, people die brutally not "elegantly" doing heroic acts, like the most boring of the clichè. The story is super mature and yes, controversial, but only in a positive way. It's not for everyone, and if you can't appreciate this level of narrative, probably you should aim for something that is simpler. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ignore all of these review bombs from June 19th. There's absolutely no way these people gave this game a legitimate chance with not even a day with the game out. TLoUP2 has been an extraordinary and brilliant ride It had took me 5 days to complete it on hard and let me tell you it exceeded all of my expectations even after being spoiled by "fans".

I don't know what people expected when Joel murdered, butchered the last of the Fireflies in salt lake and ruining mankind's hope for a cure. And then not have any repercussions with their kin let alone the daughter of one. It's the apocalypse... people don't understand that Joel was an anti hero, also lied to Ellie for years leaving her feeling unsure with herself. So now that that's explained we can moved passed first impressions from the spoilers.

This game left me feeling all kinds of emotions during my play through in a good way hitting all the right notes
    -Gameplay
The gameplay is soo buttery smooth and satisfying with insane levels of detail and gore! It requires you to create from its move set. And It is as good or as bad as the player wants it to be. It's a bunch of kill rooms, but how you approach it is all up to you. People that **** on its gameplay simply suck or lack creativity. This allows it to feel really unique and dynamic and has all kinds of customizing I love it.

    -Graphics and Atmosphere
There's not much to say except it's insane what Naughty Dog was able to achieve with 2013 tech they are on a completely different playing field in this regard. TLoUP2 has the best graphics than anything I've seen so far, already looks next gen! With only RDR2 ever coming close to this level of graphical detail and animation.

    -Sound and Music
Everything's just perfect in this department from gun sound design to the way enemies react to your every move, one of the only games where NPCs actually feels like a unit and knows one another, and carry's weight when you kill one of them. And the Infected sound better than ever. As for the music it's masterful.

    -Story
Last but not least to most controversial, the story. It gets a lot **** for the simple fact that Joel dies and then you have to play as his killer, Abby. But what they skip is Abby's redemption I'm not gonna lie I enjoyed playing as her more than I did Ellie. This story is so intricately designed where everything is interwoven and brilliantly executed in my opinion. They managed to make me sympathize for Abby and understand her views and in the mean time become one of the best parts in the game and personally one of my favorite characters.

The story is one hell of a journey and unforgettable to say the least leaving you in awe in what you just experienced. I only have one gripe with the narrative though and It's that Abby never tells Ellie that Joel killed her father, let alone have a conversation. But I guess you can understand the simplicity of it, that there's too much hatred/sadness for one another to simply mend with dialog. Once you take your first steps in this game it feels astronomical. In my opinion this game is a solid 9.5/10 and 100% a GOTY contender.

Initially I was annoyed that I had to play as Abby. I did not want, I refused, I stomped my feet...

And yet, I gave it a chance. Slowly but surely they made me care about a character I hated with a burning fire only a little while before. They humanised her, they showed how everything is not black and white. That the world is not just good and bad but many subtle shades of grey in between. It was hard to play in moments but rewarding and exciting. The game-play and graphics were beyond excellent.

Sadly this game will not be recognised for it's greatness until the video game community is filled with more self aware, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent community members. That is not an insult to my community, more just a depressing observation.
