This game could have been great but it simply isn't, why? here's why:

    1) Using Joel's death as a plot device for the story to develop into a generic revenge story that doesn't even work because you never get to avenge Joel. 2) Using Joel's death for mere shock value early in the game to build up a sense of hate towards Abby. This scene is even used as a jumpscare moment at the final

This scene is even used as a jumpscare moment at the final stages of the game.

    3) introducing Abby as a villain character for killing Joel after she gets saved by him and then forcing people to sympathize with her actions later on after the deed is done. 4)This entire story feels forced and not believable. How? Because there are countless moments that are not realistic and I'm referring to moments where Abby or other characters should have died but still manage to survive no matter what. Another moment where characters act out of character. If you think Joel's death was realistic then you're also saying that this game is only realistic for specific moments. Because if it wasn't the case then we wouldn't have the same story.

    5) rather than exploring other more interesting areas of the plot like ( Ellie's immunity, Ellie's mom, and how she got to the fireflies, finding out more about the origin of this virus, addressing Joel's lie at the end of the game. *I know that this was barely included but it wasn't enough at all. It was a flashback ffs*etc...) There are lots of directions they could have pursued but instead, we get to explore Ellie's sexuality by adding Dina, which doesn't add anything to the story or its characters. We also got rid of Joel just so we can transform the story into a generic revenge plot with no derivable morals or messages.

Now, I'm going to propose some ideas that I think could have bettered this "sequel".

Starting the game with the flashback sequences we got. This way we can see both Ellie and Abby's development. This way, we can understand Abby's decisions and reasoning.
if the game starts with the flashbacks and have those sequences stretched out a bit then the actual start of this game in winter would be around halfway through the game and then there are some changes you could add like making Abby a more conflicted character by making her question her initial goal ( which is to kill Joel ) after she gets saved by him. This way, Abby becomes a multi-layered character with a complex personality unlike the Robot she is in this game. Still, even if after all that...she kills Joel, then people wouldn't feel shocked about it because they would be expecting it. The entire scene wouldn't be as abrupt or undeserved. They could introduce themes of forgiveness and hope and that would create a perfect emotional balance with the violence and hopelessness of this world. This would also achieve the goal of intriguing players on choosing who is good or bad. After all, isn't that what Neil wanted to achieve with his story. Well... He clearly failed cuz most players wanna destroy Abby and no one else. Finally, I would suggest getting rid of characters like Dina or Jesse. Because while they sometimes brighten the mood a bit, their role is practically non essentially to the plot progression nor for the development or growth of the characters. I would rather make them inflict changes to the story or impact/ influence Ellie in some drastic way causing her to act in a certain way.

    This is unfortunate...
The last of us is more than this.
I mean...we went from focusing on the emotional journey and the intimate relationship between Joel and Ellie which developed organically, to this meaninglessly violent story that bears no identity from the original game.
I could slap a random title on it like" The Bigots Of Us" and I wouldn't even recognize it as a sequel to the first installment XD.
The original game was special and bittersweet. Whereas, this one is just bitter, meaningless, and incapable of evoking those meaningful and striking story beats that the first game had.

Man, I could go on and on about how much of a disappointment this is compared to the first one and Don't get me started with how they false advertised this game by replacing Characters and changing models just so they can deceive us into thinking that Joel will be alive at least throughout half of the game lol. And without addressing all the identity politics and feminist ideas that Neil introduced like deciding to create a manly looking female because he feels that female video game characters are sexualized... Anyways, the point is **** this game, and if you like it then good for you but honestly ... the only part that was genuinely enjoyable is the flashback sequences with Ellie and Joel. For me, those moments are a tease for the perfect sequel we deserved but unfortunately will never be able to get unless, by a miracle, this game gets remade.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to get me some bigot sandwiches if u know what I mean. Peace out.

Absolute garbage. Loved the first game but part two is insulting. It ruined everything that made the first game great and added nothing to replace it.

The new characters were unlikeable, the new playable character is unable to be sympathised with and the chemistry between existing characters is gone. The plot is lazy, character development almost non-existent and some characters decisions

Don’t even get me started with the homophobic cult, what a ridiculous direction for the game to take. Of all things that would be an issue in a post apocalyptic world I highly doubt homophobia would rate very highly. I feel stupider for having played this abortion of a title. Naughty dog your game is bad and you should feel bad. I award you zero stars and may god have mercy on your souls.

The truth is I have a feeling of deep sadness with this game, its technical section is fine, it is according to the demands of the end of the generation, to be honest I do not see many profound changes compared to the 1st, it is not a God of War or a Red Dead that they are masterful but not bad, the point goes for their history, for this political touch and that forced inclusion; In theThe truth is I have a feeling of deep sadness with this game, its technical section is fine, it is according to the demands of the end of the generation, to be honest I do not see many profound changes compared to the 1st, it is not a God of War or a Red Dead that they are masterful but not bad, the point goes for their history, for this political touch and that forced inclusion; In the first we knew everything about Ellie and the truth did not matter, it was natural, Rilley was everything she knew and it was normal for him to love her, here they tell me that the daughter of a character x becomes trans, yes trans in a world in which you suffer to eat a person almost changes their sex, breaking with all the logic of the world, the problem is and is not that character, I have nothing against that community, but if it bothers me when they are used as a propaganda of the PC, the truth is that the game defies its logic, it kills the character we wanted to see; The TLOU was the story of a father to whom the world takes away everything and who later steals something from the world, then knows that his decision condemns him to lose after all, but no, here we throw a pointless argument telling those who We wait this for years, look, we don't care, it is better to have certain groups happy that they are not even going to buy the title but this way we look better; This is why my 0 goes, because the game does not give me anything, just tremendous nausea. When God of War came out or was afraid to see what they had done with Kratos, fatherhood was not for him, now I see that I grew up with him, too bad that TLOU P2 did not grow with us, he just wanted to please those who are not his public unfortunate ...

Amazing a game that was characterized by realistic characters with real motivations that felt like real people, went down to cartoon-ish versions of them, with surface level motivations and resolutions. Joel letting himself caught like he did and dying because of it is not only out of character, is almost a joke, and it was a political statement. It only happened to give room to the new characters, which can be compared to a 40s cartoon villain.

Gameplay: It's literally the first game with some minor additions that barely get used, with some changes being for the worse, like the kill cam.

Graphics: Once again I'm amazed that this game looks SO bad, SPECIALLY compared to the first game. If you don't believe me, there's a flashback scene to the ending of the first game, compare both scenes and you'll immediately notice how much better the first game looks.

Explain to us how the game is literally all over the place with emotions. One minute you're fending for your life then two seconds later you're flirting with your girlfriend. And the fact that Joel the character that we've grown to love is killed off at the beginning of the game, and you force your audience to play as the killer, HOW? The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
