    Its crazy how the "critics" are able to get away with blindly ignoring the issues of this game in an attempt to get away without backlash from what boils down to being "twitter".

    This game is essentially a massive middle finger to the previous title and its done (very cleverly I might add) to make it mostly immune for criticism by shoehorning in a transgender character.     Just finished playing. Was so terrible and prolonged that I had to force myself to continue just for the sake of hoping it got better. Hint: it didn't. Absolutely terrible afront to The Last of Us fans and an insult to the general community. Pushed political agendas (who tf thought this was a good idea!?) and horrible story-telling ruin the visuals. Deserved 0/10. Do not buy.

    As far as I'm concerned, this dumpster fire of a game never happened. Neil should be ashamed of himself, not only for his own behaviour with his company and fans, but for bringing in certain bad actors that are known for ruining everything they touch. Anyone who gives this disaster a favourable review is either a paid or threatened shill, or is trying to deflect criticism of the story and gameplay with 'but muh LGBT', and anyone who played and genuinely loved the original has been utterly betrayed.
    Let me make this absolutely clear to the desperate SJWs: NO ONE outside of a minority of edgelords gives a damn about the characters' gender or sexualities. You are just trying to deflect genuine criticism by using your social politics as a shield over something you were never a fan of in the first place.     Listen up and listen well, Naughty Dog. Your sequel sucks. Nobody would have enjoyed FFX-2 if you had to kill Tidus as part of the plot. Get your heads out of your rectums and make a PROPER sequel to Last Of Us, or get out of town.

    I give you an advice. if you liked the first game dont even consider playing this.actually dont play it either way . The worst game that naughty dog has ever published. Its predictable and disappointing .     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The director added a sex scene of him **** the transgender protagonist “Abby” and spits on Joel’s body after he’s killed by her. After Ellie spends the rest of the game hunting and looking for revenge and redemption she comes within inches of killing Abby but decides to let her go. Nothings wrong with the fact Abby is trans, nothing is wrong with the LGBTQ aspects of this game. What is wrong is the lousy and poorly written story, Joel’s deserved to die saving Ellie and Abby should’ve been killed by Ellie. In my opinion The Last of Us never had a sequel and it’s still my favourite game of all time, Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann had a game of the decade winning masterpiece with The Last of Us (2013) but couldn’t keep it up with The Last of Us II. We don’t mind the LGBTQ, we actually embrace it. What we don’t like is our generation defining and masterpiece being kicked into the dirt just to endorse those groups of people even if it doesn’t make sense for the story and/or just destroys it completely, whilst mostly this is a very lacklustre and abomination of what The Last of Us (2013) have us 7 years ago, there are some scenes in the game that are hard hitting and strike us in the emotions just like the last game did. But that will never be enough to redeem it from the kind of torture the second game out its fans through. Please don’t apologise, don’t try and justify your decisions. Just accept the fact you knew what your audience wanted but you still pandered to a minority just to be more inclusive. To the team that developed the game and weren’t allowed to suggest ideas or express any negative feelings to the game during its development in order not to be branded a “phobe” or an “ist” or even yet in to not lose your job. From the unceremonious death of a character I fell in love with in the first part. It's so disgusting to even write that I can't even believe it made me cry, as if it actually made me cry and get angry. And Pro that at all 2 part of ? ABOUT ANYTHING. You were just playing with my nerves and tears. Just NOT up to REVENGE. Ellie didn't avenge Joel's death, Ellie lost everything.... These sort of character regressions are confusing and irritating to watch unfold, and makes what would have been impactful storytelling moments feel unjustified in how they are executed. To me, The Last of Us 2 feels like reading someone’s first foray into fan-fiction with a potentially compelling story in mind and moral they want to extend whilst not bothering to consider keeping true to the characters they include, or at bothering to evolve them, nor following themselves the moral they appear to want you to learn: “violence and revenge are wrong.” The tone seems set: ‘Revenge is a cyclic horror that never ends well, and violence should be reflected upon and avoided as it is a daunting and disturbing act.’ Except in this game, revenge is a driving story point throughout and violence feels glorified to a disgusting extent. I can’t help but think back on other games that make you reconsider and question acts of violence and rekindle your humanity like Earthbound or Undertale so skillfully do.

    I wish they had thought more about communicating their message effectively in offering autonomy to follow through on what appears to be an intent to self reflect and let go of cyclic violence, it might have been a great game if they had.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jesus, man. This was one of the most hyped up games of the last several years and it comes out like this. As one could easily assess, a majority of the hate comes from the very questionable plot choices and the shift in tone from the original game. I am unsure what the developers were going for when writing this thing. Let me try and mention some points that haven't been said already.

    One argument I have read is that it was completely contradictory for Joel to say his real name to Abby's group based on how careful he was in the first game. However, I still believe that he would have been screwed regardless since there was a good chance that Abby would've brutally tortured Joel and Tommy for information. She only let Ellie go free because she got her target, but if Joel did not reveal his name, there is a good chance that all three of them (Joel, Tommy, and Ellie) would've been killed for risk of warning the settlement. However, that still doesn't excuse the dog crap storyline.

    Secondly, the people who are hating on this game for its political agendas are completely justified. Look, I have no issue with LGBT characters in media, but man they really shove it down your throat in this one. This is the equivalent of that one white kid in social media that won't stop spamming Black Lives Matter. I have the right to be uncomfortable by what I see on my tv screen. Looking at Abby's ripped physique is not only unsettling, but also unrealistic. It started to feel like I was playing a porn parody instead of a game. All I'm saying is that developers need to think about the demographics of they're audience. For videogames, it's most likely gonna be straight males. And men don't want buff women and lesbian antics, they want Joel.

    In the end, without a quality story, TLOU2 isn't enjoyable to play. The game is nothing but a hollow husk of its predecessor. Druckmann himself said the game wasn't supposed be fun. Instead he used the word "engaging" to describe it. So i guess I'll "engage" in the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 now has a good chance of getting Game of the Year.    … Expand

I understand there was a lack of it before, now we have gone in the complete opposite direction. Im a guy, I cannot relate to female characters, that's just how it is. Oh, and killing the best character of the game right at the start...nice touch to **** this up right. I'm so pissed at this ****… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
