The only reason this doesn't get a 0 is that the game looks beautiful and the animations are really high quality. Also, the combat is just like the 1st game. All the rest is trash.

From what I have seen and played, it has amazing graphics and amazing gameplay. The only reason I'm giving it a 9/10 and not a 10/10 I'd because it get a bit boring at times but then before you know it gets really fun

Let's start, the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is a huge step up (especially for melee and stealth), and the story is fantastic. A lot of people whining about the story are either upset about the LGBTQ+ aspects or they read spoilers with no context and were left enraged before playing the game. The Last of Us 2 is not the sequel I expected, but it is one that is true to its world and characters. The first game shows a man who is willing to do whatever it takes to get his job done, contrary to what Polygon thinks, the game is not about selfless actions or anything remotely about altruism. Joel has a mission, he became attached, and then he literally doomed the entire **** population because he didn't want to lose a daughter figure again. It is understandable, but also, if you came out not thinking Joel is a selfish man (albeit relatable) person, you didn't absorb the story properly and this game likely isn't for you as you entirely missed the point of the first one. Which you can see if you read Polygon's review, which honestly is an embarrassing review because the reviewer just blasted out that she played a game and didn't understand it even remotely. I think the hardest part of this game (for some) is that it really asks you to be a decent human who is capable of complex emotions and hopes that you can place yourself in the shoes of others while things are unfolding. It essentially asks that you go in with one motive and understand why you would possibly change that as events unfold and apparently that is asking too much for some 40,000+ losers review bombing the game. If you enjoyed the first game, play this with an open mind and don't become so attached to your own expectations that you get upset when the creators don't adhere to your every specification. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a masterpiece. The gameplay is great with new features that still fit the original game. The music perfectly fits every scene adding more emotion and showing whats happening in the scene without having to even look at it. The characters are memorable and get attached to easily with every word feeling right coming from their mouth. The deaths of characters are quick but understandable. seeing as no person in this game is some superhuman being and 1 bullet is all it takes. Seeing Jesse and Joel go out the way they did makes total sense. This game is not riddled with bugs and glitches and the gameplay mechanics feel amazing. if there is anything to complain about its how Ellie left Dina and JJ. I understand why as she is stuck with the memory of Joel dying the way he did.But in my mind i just cannot see Ellie leaving them like that. With the cliffhanger it makes me really shocked and wonder as to what happened to characters like Dina, JJ, Tommy, Maria, the whole town of Jackson, and most importantly where Ellie goes next. I also have questions like who was the guy in command of the crazy people at the end of the game he reminded me of Bill but i dont know how it would be Bill knowing he wanted to work alone. I also really hope there will be a multiplayer this game would be perfect with the old factions mode the gameplay is great. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There's not a single good thing about this game. You ruined the game, what for? What are the odds of having 2 lesbians and 2 transgenders in the span of 8 characters in real life? why should games be filled with **** Please LGBTQ+ community can you just stay away from gaming you've already ruined the movie industry, isn't this enough for you?

The story is irrational and the character's development is trash. ellie turned into a murderer and killed everyone except the one she was supposed to kill; Joel was just humiliatingly killed **** you G.R.R.Martin for making this trend seem smart and edgy); Lev killed his mom and the game want to make that look justified because you know she didn't understand equality; un-meaningful ending and my god I can go for days non stop it's just **** I'm just gonna refund just because they need to know they ****ed up and so that they don't do this again and ruin gaming anymore

There was a vision... and whoever is responsible for that vision misled an incredibly capable team of people into producing an abysmal disappointment of a game. I feel scammed... If I could return it I would. Any fan of TLOU1 or just good storytelling be warned. You won't just dislike it. You will almost certainly hate it.

Sony need more representative mascots. This game perfectly erradicated any possibility to make Joel and Ellie significant characters in the PlayStation Universe also ruining a franchise that could had become sony’s greatest one.

So. The Last of Us Part 2. I frankly do not know where to begin. As many of my fellow reviewers, we have waited a total of seven years for this release. With high hopes, we set money aside and anticipated a masterpiece .. and we got one, but not in the way we expected.

The first half of TLOU2 (if you know, you know) was absolutely incredible. I loved EVERY second, every interaction, everything. From the spine chilling gurgle emanating from clickers that somehow sounds even more terrifying, to the incredible acting presented by Ashley and Shannon. From the glorious realm of Jackson and Seattle, and the simple track of snow later countered by the ghostly sighting of an abandoned city retaken, it was a masterpiece. Truly. The chemistry and bittersweet moments had me lulled into a sense of security that was later cracked into pieces, as to be expected. The first part deserves positive reviews. The same cannot be said for the latter.

I can see exactly what ND was trying to convey, the message they so horribly tried to send. However everything leading up to that message did not make it satisfactory. I did not care for the second half in the least, and even after letting it sink in, I did not end up changing my feelings or mind on the interactions at hand. Again, I see what they were doing, and I can see how they thought it would work, but the narrative was insanely weak. The half-a$$ed parallels and the "two sides of the same coin" (literally) sequence was just not where it should have been.

I love TLOU and TLOU2, and I will continue to support ND and if they do have the balls to make a third installment, I hope to every god and deity that they do it right.

Gameplay, sound and graphics are top notch as always. But the clincher is the story and the characters. Both feel like some fanfiction author got his hands on the script for this game. This game has one of the worst endings of all time of any piece of media. It will leave you a hollow shell of yourself.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The story isn’t that memorable, which is the most important part to me. I don’t care that she is gay, but they will remind you that Ellie is homosexual every 5 minutes, because obviously you forgot the last 45 times they told you. Just wish they would have focused more on the story and less on the sexual orientation of the characters. Expand

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
