Jul 4, 2020The Last of Us Part II is so disconnected from the first game. There's literally 0 consistency in character writing, plots. The whole game is just a different short stories patched together that didn't need to be told. This game was honestly a waste of everybody's time. Also the environment and level design is subpar compared to the first game.

Jul 4, 2020Bad plotting And too complicated to understand
If you can't make games that people understand in the same way, don't. -

Jul 5, 2020The combat system is fine, but totally disappointed on the story. If the name and the characters became others, this would be a great game....
What a shame -

Jul 5, 2020Story was messy. Flashback within flashbacks. 11 hr cliffhangers that made getting through almost half the game a chore to play through. Inconsistent motivation & motives of characters. Besides like one boss, the infected felt like a random nuisance instead of the threat they were in the first game.

Jul 5, 2020Out dated gameplay, Terrible story, only thing good about this game are the graphics. Even the soundtrack is wrose than the first one.
-
Jul 5, 2020Characters were well portrayed; but implementation of the story continued with hazy writing, as well as frustrating and sometimes confusing flashbacks is just a burden for players. Character swap occurs wayyy too often, and the story truly became boring.
-
Jul 5, 2020Where is humanity? Where are the living people (not notes) who had to make a difficult decision? Where is the heroine who knows how to swear and joke? Is this exactly a zombie apocalypse? I have a huge disappointment.

Jul 6, 2020to be honest, the pacing, how they somehow wants us to sympathize with Abby didn't really click with me. But still, they did right by the brutal gameplay, sound design, and graphics.

A shell of a game. A beautiful, atmospheric world gone to waste by some of the worst storytelling in video game history. This is beyond bad writing, it is propaganda.

Sep 13, 2020The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.
-
Sep 5, 2020Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

Game World Navigator MagazineSep 3, 2020If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
