    The game is a masterpiece! It builds on the first game with larger environments, updated mechanics, new items to craft, new enemies, and a dark complex narrative about losing one's humanity in a brutal quest for revenge. It's the perfect foil to the first game which built it's narrative on regaining Joel's humanity and finding hope.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is not the dumpster-fire hell-hole life-ruiner that so many people claim it to be. Most negative reviews I've seen pin most of their disappointment on Joel's death being "out of character" and then being forced to play as Abby. And while I agree wholeheartedly that the pacing of the story is weak, I don't think the story is what's bad about this game: it's the structure of the narrative. I believe that Abby is a great character - had I started playing as Abby in Seattle without knowing what happened in Jackson, I would've been as invested in her as I was with Ellie. I would have seen the way Abby acts around Lev, and I would've seen the parallels to Ellie and Joel.

    I think ND made a mistake by having us play Ellie's story first. Imagine if the game had been advertised as being about a new character that we've never seen, you play the first half as an Abby troubled by her past, you and two kids from a cult escaping a war-torn Seattle and searching for meaning beyond this pointless fighting. Abby has nightmares about her father and how she hunted and murdered the man who killed him. As the game progresses, Abby's friends are being hunted and killed, and the player fears that Abby might be next - when finally, it's revealed that the man Abby killed is Joel, and the person you've been running from is none other than Ellie. Imagine how betrayed you'd feel as the player! You've been invested in this character, you've been rooting for her and Lev, she's gained your respect and your sympathy - and then you find out that she killed Joel?

    ND's mistake is that they never give Abby a real chance to earn our empathy/sympathy. They make you watch as she kills a character you know and love, they make you feel Ellie's bloodlust and hatred - and then they kill the game's momentum and make you revisit someone you hate. And honestly, there's almost nothing ND could have shown me that would make me understand and agree with beating someone to death with a golf club. I enjoyed the story - but the structure of the story is weak, and it kills the pacing of an otherwise phenomenal game.    … Expand

    Graphics amazing Story dark and fantastic Combat better than first one Ending is so juicy i love it One thing i hate is joel died in 20% game but i take it and focused in story

    The game and history are incredible, the first that put you in the protagonist poin of view and the “antagonist” point of view. Who don’t understand the final of the game is really ignorant or probably he have the xbox

    What an incredible game. I cried so many times, this game is a masterpiece. Please do not stop at all this review bombing, this game is incredible. If you can play it, play it and you won't regret it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is not an arbitrary 10 whatsoever. Be a bigot, say you hate Abby and all that means nothing to me. I have been writing professionally for 15 years. I was a combat journalist in the United States Navy and I have seen the dark side of life. I understand people were attached to Joel and placed his FICTIONAL character on a pedestal but that goes to show how many of you miss the entire point of the world of Last of Us. There are no good guys and bad guys. Their are just people and worse people doing all they can to survive. This is a world where a clicker can jump you in 2 seconds flat an end your life. You DO NOT DESERVE a heroes death, because there are no heroes. Ellie and Abby are a dichotomy. An exploration of each other by playing as the OTHER. Ellie was safe for 4 years. She had love, friends and a completely safe haven to live in where she only needed to kill clickers and the occasional hunter. Thats why Joel's death broke her and made her go off the deep end. On the flip side Abby's life was always death at every corner. Her father shot in his face for trying to save the world and then for FOUR YEARS she was part of the WLF as THE TOP SCAR KILLER as they call her. She had become desensitized to her own loss of morality. Notice how Ellie always had a recurring dream of Joel's death and Abby of her fathers death. They both were haunted by death because their minds were dead set on revenge. They had lost the ability to empathize in this world. They could not see the others perspective which is why we PLAYED AS BOTH PERSPECTIVES. To show you that both of these people love, feel, struggle, hate, lose, win, cry, laugh. But they will also do whatever it takes to survive and protect what is theirs because in this world that is all they have. There are no bad guys or good guys in this world. Only those people and things you can carry with you because everything else you take is a risk. If you watch the Joel death scene you realize through FANTASTIC ANIMATION his facial expression when he realizes the girl he did not perceive as a threat Abby ( WHO IS THE SAME AGE AS ELLIE) was the one he actually should have been worried about. But you see on his face in that moment the regret. He got comfortable. He allowed himself to let his guard down living in Jackson and it cost him his life. But then at the end of the game they have the scene with Joel and Ellie where he tells her he is at peace with his decisions and would DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN because in the end he got his girl. That is a metaphor for his death as well. He would make all the same mistakes again as long as he had his baby girl. That writing. This was the SADDEST game I have ever played. I legit teared up at the end. I will not talk about technical prowess because that aspect is not debatable. Naughty Dog has by far the most polished world building, gameplay and animation in the game. I just wanted to lay out the story for people. If you have not played this game please do not be bias and go in with pre conceived notions. Give this game its just due........It is a MASTERCLASS.… Expand

    Gráficos magníficos, diseño de niveles realmente sorpréndete, ambientación magnífica, ojo al detalle nivel ND, es uno de los mejores juegos de PS4 la historia es objetivamente buena, es cierto que hay motivos para que no te guste pero no le quita el hecho de que cumple con su cometido en la mayoría de los casos, deja un final digno para el primer juego y cierra la historia de Ellie deGráficos magníficos, diseño de niveles realmente sorpréndete, ambientación magnífica, ojo al detalle nivel ND, es uno de los mejores juegos de PS4 la historia es objetivamente buena, es cierto que hay motivos para que no te guste pero no le quita el hecho de que cumple con su cometido en la mayoría de los casos, deja un final digno para el primer juego y cierra la historia de Ellie de buena manera, no es el juego que esperaba, la narrativa no esta al nivel del primero pero en todos los otro aspectos es infinitamente superior, ND no decepciona… Expand

    Story is garbage. Abby sucks. This game didn't need to exist, yet people hoped it would be good since they probably figured that Naughty Dog deemed there was a story worth telling. Sadly, this story was not worth telling AT ALL and should not exist. Hope to god they don't bother making a third game because no one wants it.

    Poor writing , repetitive gameplay and forgettable characters made so much damage to one of the all time greatest story told through this awesome medium that is games.
    People loved and connected with characters from the first opys.
    Sorry but this one is a dud despite the awesome graphics and great performance by the actors..

Крутой саундтрек, графика , диалоги/сюжетные твисты - мне понравилось, по моему мнение все это на высшем уровне. Но... что-то пошло не так. Я не хочу выливать на эту игру много грязи, за меня это сделали уже практически все(И я не считаю, что этиСкажу честно, игра довольно таки скучная.     I can’t see how this game is filled up with bad reviews, I bet 10 but in fact the game is at 7/10. Game play is great for me, graphics is amazing, the game pays attention to details. Plot is at 5/10 and it kill the game.

    I really like the game and this is one of the best games on PS4 and a must have in your collection.
    I would definitely recommend it to Players who like a story driven game.

Gameplay and graphics, much like the first game, are excellent unfortunately the story brings everything down forcing you to spend most of the game as the character you want to kill I pushed through looking foward to the final confrontation but in the end they don't even give you the satisfaction to end her...
    They should have made killing Abbie a choice. Then you still could have a "moral" ending and I could have gotten a more satisfactory ending...
    I don't need a game to preach to me that revenge is bad, I'm perfectly able to distinguish between reality and fiction and I enjoy the occasional revenge fantasy, this game is like a jigsaw with one missing piece... They blue-balled my thirst for revenge; as said once by the wise TheReportOfTheWeek: "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined..."    … Expand

    Only minor game-play improvements over it's predecessor. Story is irredeemably bad, constant pandering and SJW nonsense boiled the story down to an incomprehensible mess. Massive disservice to past characters to pander to SJWs.

    Disappointing... The original game wasn't even that good, but the characters and story were so good, that they drew you in, and made you forget how awful the controls and gameplay were...     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
