Unfortunately, people are attacking this game, a beautiful and incredible game that changed my life, what a pity that a game like this has been destroyed by people with nothing to do.

Please ignore the review bombers. If TLOU 2 isn't a 'good' game then I really don't know what a good game is. I do understand *some* of the hate, even though I think a very small amount of it comes from people who have actually played through the game.

Please ignore the review bombers. If TLOU 2 isn't a 'good' game then I really don't know what a good game is. I do understand *some* of the hate, even though I think a very small amount of it comes from people who have actually played through the game.

The story skips back and forth a lot, to the point where the end product feels a little jumbled. And the pacing in the first half isn't great, I was starting to get a little bored before the story dramatically changes gears. And while I don't particularly agree with the notion that the game didn't add enough onto the first game mechanics wise, I can understand that some people may have been wanting more new upgrades and weapons then they got. For the most part the game sticks with the same upgrades that were introduced in the first game.

But simply put, I can't think of many revenge stories better told than this one is. Certainly one has never taken advantage of a video game as a storytelling device more effectively. In its opening hours, the game gives you incredibly strong motivation to hunt and hurt the villians of the story. Over the course of this 30ish hour game however, the lust for revenge and violence ebbs away as you become emotionally invested in the people that are dotted throughout a story, and you see how much this journey takes from the people undertaking it. More harrowingly, Naughty Dog continually build the people in this journey up as likeable, human characters, and then tear them away from you in normally senseless and brutal ways; that's the world this game is set in.

People who say this story sucks might have missed the point of the first game, or simply take issue with the more progressive plot points in the game whether they realise it or not. But every moment in this game is so carefully crafted to lend itself to the story, and the acting and animation of everyone in both the cutscenes and the gameplay is beyond incredible. The small comments characters make to themselves or each other which normally mirror what you're thinking continually align yourself with who you're playing as. The high level of quality over everything is so much more than just gud graphics. It's the work of a studio completely devoted to creating an experience where every encounter adds more onto your understanding of these characters as people.

This game should make you incredibly uncomfortable, which I think is the strongest valid reason to not enjoy it. But it should make you feel uncomfortable because you're a human being, and it's hard to watch what these human beings are capable of doing to each other. For that and all the reasons above, is why I think this game has been an incredible way to cap off this console generation. The controversy will die down as people find other things to complain about, but this game is going to be long remembered as the incredible technical and creative feat that it is.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion, its bad. In TLOU1 Joel doesn’t trust anybody and doesn’t give out his name to most people, in TLOU2 he trusts everyone and he doesn't act like his original character. Then lets talk about the ending. Ellie goes on a massive killing spree only for Ellie to spare Abby. And I hate how Abby says Lev isn’t “apart of this” nor was Tommy and she intentionally tried to kill Tommy by shooting him in the head. Jesse wasn’t in it either. Bad game, Trash sequel. Expand

I have waited seven years for this master class narrative and it truly delivered. Neil Druckmann has once again crafted a superb art that will be praised for generations. Last of us part 2 includes an engaging experience with many moments that twist the plot for the better. Last of us part 2 stands higher than majority of the games in the last seven years.

No final, The Last Of Us Part 2 é uma obra incrível. É um misto de vários sentimentos que irão conduzir o jogador em meio a campanha com vários momentos de tensão e emoção. É um jogo que não vai te deixar feliz e vai te incomodar o tempo inteiro, joga-lo será uma experiência desconfortante, mas única.

Political agendas pushed in any media will always ruin that form of media, every time without fail and TLOS2 is not an exception just because the first game was so awesome
first half of the game is decent enough because at least your Ellie going after Joel's killers but then you get thrown into a crap story playing as the person who kills Joel, HORRIBLE writing.
and the icing on the cake is that SJW's need to push their agenda and have multiple trans in the game when they are there so they can feel better about themselves, if it actually added to the story or gameplay then it could be acceptable.
NaughtyDog is going down a dangerous path and wont be surprised when they go bankrupt 99% of people stop playing their games just so they dont have to have agendas pushed down their damn throat

Not to criticise too much as with what he gave us was still a great game. The Last of Us Part 1 was a better story with a closer connection to characters and emotion. The Last of Us Part 2 was missing some key things in the story, which in my opinion was the misleading advertising. Shouldn’t have been done. But I still recommend the game 100%, long and intense, much more scary and action filled, making my skin shiver in excitement for what is to come of the future of the franchise. The original The Last of Us game is a story about personal brokenness and loss, but also about a struggle for hope and connection despite it. This is shown in the bond between Joel and Ellie. This is shown in the bond between Joel and Ellie. We see Joel slowly come to view her as a daughter, and Ellie eventually sees him as a father. The bleak journey they take to get to that point is worth it, because it forges a strong and believable connection that we all root for. Even at game's end, when questionable decisions are made, they are based upon that connection. The tragic ending makes us wonder how their relationship will be tested by the consequences, and what these two will do together in the future. We are still rooting for them!

Sadly, The Last of Us Part II makes it clear very early on that it is done with the Joel/Ellie dynamic, at least in any positive or meaningful way. In its place, we are given a revenge mission with no chance of redemption. Unlike in Part I, there is no one to root for in this game. Our heroine is stripped of all likability, transformed into a rage-fueled murderer, occasionally breaking up the bloodlust with depression. Several new characters are introduced, but not given enough backstory or development for us to care about them, either. We are left with a collection of broken murderers who have lost nearly all positive personal connection in their lives. It's as if all the progress anyone made in Part I is completely reversed. Oddly enough, it seems that this sense of bleak hopelessness is somehow the point, as it is reinforced by a very unfulfilling conclusion. There is no reason for the journey, no 'ends to justify the means'. All that's left is a profound sense of loss for what could have been. This may be an okay concept for a 2hr film, but playing through hours and hours of it - paying to play it - feels torturous. Not to mention how much of a tonal shift it is for fans of the previous game; you'll probably enjoy this game more if you know very little of Part I. Of course, the acting, music, animation, sound design, etc. are all top tier, maybe the best ever in gaming. That's not an exaggeration, and it's the only reason I can't give this game any less than a 3. But this makes the storyline feel so much more disappointing. You can see how this team had all the talent/tools they needed to make an amazing game, but the soul was completely sucked out of it. What's left is a gilded vessel - pretty to look at, but ultimately, empty.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I rated this game just above average cause it has some good tho HD going for it like the graphics the sound music acting game mechanics the worlds the art design and the hand to hand combat the new infected creatures are a nice thing. My issue with the game is the direction they took with it as the game went along I found my self getting less interested and that’s a shame cause usually it goes the other way. Being forced to play as Abby didn’t help I just kept saying to myself I don’t care can we just get back to Ellie. The pacing is also off there are kinks of this game were I was just like let’s move this along but I get it they want you to scavenge for supply’s and go slow with stealth. I knew they would kill Joel off I just thought he’d get a better send off and maybe we could play his death instead of it being a cutscene we play as Joel up until he dies then we play as Ellie it’s just a thought I had. Over all the games not trash it’s really well done with the graphics and level designs just the story not so good. Expand

I have never seen movie or played the game that would stay in my mind for such long time. I feel the same way about this game and as for me it is also a great game, I enjoyed gameplay as it was realy pleasing and I enojyed the plot because i like when i have mixed feelings about ending of game and TLOU2 left me with that kind of feelings but I also get why people hate it for that reason. It is realy confusing and unsatisfying, as for me the story wasn't told badly but again I get why people say that. I think that most peolpe hated the same thing as I did. The part when you play as Abby is so fu****. I begged god to make it stop, I didn't enjoy it because I hated that character for obvious reason but after all I think it was necessary to put in the story BUT not in the game. If it was for me to decide what to do with it, I would say to cut it off and make it into DLC. I think that only then peolpe would rate the game on 8 and DLC on 5. I don't agree with people rating the game at level of 3 as it's too low but I agree with rating of 5-7 because I get why it is mediocare. As for me it is great game and I am so happy that I finally got to play it and I still hope that we will see the last of us part 3 as the next naughty dog game. Expand

The ending is pointless and makes it feel like the whole game and story was for nothing. Terrible story, character development and execution.
