    Possibly the most boring game I've WATCHED since Death Stranding. Story telling ability in this game are non-existant. It's a shotgun of exposition. Speaking of story telling, if you have a political message or any message then hire people who can subtlety interweave the message into the experience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. game is still a walking simulator, no new developments in game mechanics, now to the nitty gritty, don't get me wrong I have no issues with gay people irl or in the game I'm playing and I got no problems with some girl on girl action, my issue with it is it seems less like a story development and more of a marketing ploy to get traction in the media(I have no gripes with gay people being in games, I think they should be better represented, I just think using it as a marketing tactic is scummy)… Expand

    the only positive point is the graphic part. it's a dazzling job even with all the blur and serrated edges, I'm playing on the base ps4, and I see a lot of serrated edges, the Game play has been improved. but there are no surprising innovations, now the worst of all is his plot, for me it was clear that the director forced his political vision and forgot the art, for me it was clear why hethe only positive point is the graphic part. it's a dazzling job even with all the blur and serrated edges, I'm playing on the base ps4, and I see a lot of serrated edges, the Game play has been improved. but there are no surprising innovations, now the worst of all is his plot, for me it was clear that the director forced his political vision and forgot the art, for me it was clear why he killed "that" character quickly and meaninglessly, it is because "that" character represents everything that the director hates, he is from a traditional conservative family, he is a hetero, a man with morals and conservative principles and does not use drugs, the graphic part cannot overcome this, he tried to impose his progressivism and this is not good… Expand

    In the end, the entire game felt pointless. The point of vengeance is bad and unfulfilling isn't a new thought and it's been told a thousand times before. And a thousand times better.    … Expand

    The game is Gorgeous and stunning visually. But the marketing was lies and the game play itself was not really changed or innovated from the first a prone was added. They barley give any character development to Ellie and Dina and concentrate blatantly on Abby.     Absolutely terrible! I'm a huge fan of the original and I hate myself for taking the bate for part 2. This game is heavily founded on pushing views and agendas in which highly affects everything about this game...a chain reaction of terrible writing, story telling, plot holes from small to big.     Besides the graphics & gameplay this game is not worth the money & surely not worth your time. If you were a fan of the first game there are bits and pieces of ellie & joel fan service sprinkled out throughout the story , besides this I can't think of any other redeeming qualities that would make this game worth anybody's time.

    The controls were a bit clunky but the mechanics overall are decent. My issue is with the story and characters itself. I personally found, compared to the first game, the overall writing as not as good. Additionally, the characters were less developed and relatable and I found myself less attached to them. Gameplay wise, stacks up to first.

    Game looks amazing graphic wise but the story just seems like a big middle finger to the fans of the original but is passed off as “art” and anyone who doesn’t like it is a bigot too many games bending the knee to push politics it’s too forced and doesn’t come off naturally all characters aren’t that likeable even the original ones sadly.

    If you like to feel angry, depressed, betrayed, and disgusted all at the same time for the abhorrent story the wonderful game developers at Naughty Dog (i.e. Neil Druckmann) callously devised to follow the beloved first installment of the Last of Us, then you'll absolutely love this game!

    However, I personally don't like to feel these things when paying for & participating in activities    If you like to feel angry, depressed, betrayed, and disgusted all at the same time for the abhorrent story the wonderful game developers at Naughty Dog (i.e. Neil Druckmann) callously devised to follow the beloved first installment of the Last of Us, then you'll absolutely love this game!

    Good graphics and musical score do little to buffer this dressed-up piece of fecal matter. There just seems to be no rational explanation for how the same director responsible for the incredible Last of Us part 1 could go so incredibly wrong...

    Basically. If you have Depression or anxiety, don’t play this.
    The main spoilers you may have heard aren’t the worst of it This is depressing and I dissociated very close to the beginning of the game due to the violence. This actually made me feel like I have the capacity to kill someone and    I had a really in depth review written (almost 5000 words) but apparently there was an error.
    Basically. If you have Depression or anxiety, don’t play this.

    I have never hated a character before and I despise Abby.
    Also for people looking for LGBT representation... this failed at that too. All there is is suffering and the main message I got from this game around that is that being gay causes it.
    The graphics were great but if I’m honest, that just made everything so much worse.
    I am so glad I had the beginning spoiled for me because I had originally pre-ordered the Ellie edition, I have no idea what that would have done to me mentally, owning 300 dollars worth of stuff from such a terrible game. I would have lost it. As it was I played for free thanks to a friend that gave me their game after they quit at 2 hours in, I still feel like I deserve a refund.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
